Let me start off by saying that the repairs done to my car were great. My car looks brand new. However, WORST customer service ever!!!" I had my car repaired in February of this year. I paid my deductible when I picked up my car. Not sure why, but when my insurance company settled up with the shop, they also paid the deductible. I was notified by my insurance company that the deductible had been paid twice and that the shop should refund the deductible that I paid. Well, that was 4 1/2 months ago and about 20 phone calls later. I have yet to receive the money owed to me. The shop says they are now "corporate" and that the claim is with their accounting department. Again, it has been 4 1/2 months... No one ever answers the phone at the corporate office (which is in Arizona). No one ever returns calls / messages - I have left over 10. I am now paying an attorney to write a demand letter... They were friendly and professional, so I felt confident that I would have a great experience from the beginning. They took down my information and asked my preferred method to be reached. They also made sure I was comfortable while I waited for Enterprise Rental to come meet me. I was kept up-to-date on the progress of my car either by phone call or text. And they finished on time!! My wife's beloved Honda Fit was rear-ended by a driver who then fled the scene. GEICO recommended Great Plains Auto Body. I brought the poor Fit to Great Plains Auto Body. This excellent service-provider expertly handled my claim, performed the service well and throughly, and proved to be a reasonable rate. They also had an Enterprise provider in house, again part of the GEICO support, which got me rolling (because good partners handle such repairs if they have more free time). Both aspects, auto service and loan, were efficient and effective. The main office staff were very enjoyable as well. I actually miss this interaction now. Hope you enjoy being lied to. First off, when I made an appointment for an estimate to my hail damage (even though I already had one, they said they had to do their own), they made no mention of a $50 fee until after they did the inspection. They said this would be taken out of my $500 deductible, so I would sort of get it back at the end. Keep this in mind for later. They originally said it would take 7-10 days to repair, and then they proceeded to take 21 days to complete the work. When I got the vehicle back, they did not repair a major door ding on the side of my door. If this was not going to be fixed as part of the hail damage repair, I would expect at least a call or some mention of this. But nope, nothing. Would have easily paid extra to get it fixed since it was already in the shop. They just kept my vehicle for 3 weeks and gave it back with a major dent still in it and thought that was okay. When I received a call to pick it up, they said they do not accept personal checks but do accept credit cards. Not until I'm about to pay is there mention of a 3.5% fee for using a credit card. On a 6K repair, this was an extra $200! Again, no heads up until it's too late as I came to pick up the car after work, right before they were to close. If I didn't pick it up that day, I wouldn't get another chance to pick it up until the following week, at which point I would have accrued "storage fees" for not having picked up my vehicle in a timely manner. Lastly, after paying, I find out that the $50 from earlier was in fact, not taken out of the $500 deductible. So I had paid an extra $50 for the simple fact that they did not do what they said they would. I called and spoke to a manager, Dennis, about these issues the following day. He said he was going to look into it and get back to me. Two weeks later, nothing. I make multiple calls and voicemails just to get ahold of the guy again, and it is very clear that nothing had been done since I last spoke to him. At this point, all I want is the $50 that is cut-and-dry owed to me. He says the easiest way to fix it is to put $50 on a visa gift card and have me come pick it up. He says it will be ready by the end of the day. It has now been another two weeks, and surprise, I still haven't gotten back my $50. Shady business practices, terrible customer service. Even the work is shoddy, as I noticed a new scratch on my hood only mere days after getting my car back. Will never go back again. Encourage everyone to avoid like the plague. I'm going to talk to my insurance and make sure they know about everything. read more

Never take your car here for anything. This company is an absolute joke. I would advise you to avoid them at all cost. I apologize for the length of this review, but it shows their level of incompetence. At the advice of our insurance company we took our car to Kaizen (Great Plains) after my wife was in a single car accident. There was body damage, and the transmission cooler was damaged as well. We were told they had the experience to address all these issues. This is absolutely not the case. I will start with the good. They did great on the body repairs. But that is where the good ends. Long story short they had our car back in the shop 3 times for overheating. They tell us each time it is low on coolant, but they even admitted they never touched the coolant system in the repairs, so why is it overheating. The last time the tell us if this does not fix the issue the "done with the car". They had already been paid by my insurance at this point and the car was not fixed. We drove the car to Iowa and it overheated again. We had it towed to a local Ford dealership where they tell us the overheating is the transmission not the engine and that the cooler was not replaced properly and blew the transmission. Kaizen denied responsibility for over 2 months. Ford said it was kaizen fault, the insurance company said it was their fault, but they would not pay for the new transmission. So my insurance company hired a 3rd party to come look at the car to determine what happened. Kaizen asked for the 3rd party as well. That report made it clear that kaizen NEVER changed the trans cooler in the first place. After kaizen got that report they again denied any fault and would not pay. Finally after our insurance company threatened to sue them they decided to pay, however they never accepted responsibility. The entire ordeal has taken 4 months from the time we originally brought the car to kaizen to getting them to pay for the transmission. I have email after email documenting all of this so they can't deny anything that I am saying. The estimator, the mechanic, and the general manager are all grossly incompetent and pathetic. If you could have heard the conversation I had with the general manager and how he talked me and our insurance company you would never go there. They never accepted any responsibility, and did not care that we were without a car for all that time. Take this for what it is worth, but there are a lot of places to take your car in Omaha, please do not take it to kaizen. read more

As we only have the one car it's nice to have a repair service within walking distance, and also have the ability to drop off the night before due to scheduling conflicts in the morning. I love these guys! My son's car had quite a lot of damage after an acciden with a tow hitch. They did not have an opening for 3 weeks but said if I wanted to leave it on the lot they can try to squeeze it in here or there. They ended up finishing 5 days before the opening they were going to schedule for me. Additionally they send update texts weekly. Friendly and more than willing to go the extra mile! read more

I came in to Great Plains after getting rear-ended. They were recommended by my dad AND ended up being the preferred shop from the other driver's insurance. I can see why! All I can say is "WOW!" Exceptional service starts from the moment you walk in the door. The office is clean, smells great and the receptionists are super friendly. The large waiting room is equipped with a BEAUTIFUL aquarium, flat screen tv, coffee machine and a fridge full of pop and water. They brought my car in, appraised the damage and got me set up with a rental in less than an hour. Everyone, from start to finish, made my experience as quick and painless as possible. I don't recommend anyone take their car to Great Plains, at least not this location. My car was damaged by baseball-sized hail in June 2017. I took my car to Great Plains because geico recommended them and they had worked on my previous car when it was in a minor accident. I took my car in after hail season was over, in October. I am told that they cannot get my car into their shop until *April* because it needs a new roof. Fine. I'm willing to wait because it was such a bad hail storm, I believe they were backed up. When I take my car in six months later they say it's going to take an entire month to fix it. Disappointing but I understood because the damage was pretty bad. This is where the issues begin. One day before my car is slated to be returned to me, I get a text saying that it now won't be done for seven- ten MORE days (on top of the four weeks they already had it.) I call and the office person says it's because they had a fire in their shop and they're rebuilding it, so it will take longer. Not a super reassuring thing to hear from someone who is supposed to be fixing my car. Great Plains agreed to pay for my rental car through the rest of the repair. After this I was told probably four or five times that my car would be done on x day, only to call that day and be told it wasn't done yet. It would be three-five days longer. My car was supposed to be there for four full weeks; it was there for almost seven full weeks. I was never really told what was taking so long or why it took so much longer. This was extremely frustrating but I was just relieved and happy to finally get my car back and to know it wasn't destroyed in the fire at their shop. I also was given a $50 gift card "for my patience" which I appreciated and st that point I was ready to call it fair enough. The car was supposed to be detailed before it was returned to me but it had dirt and grime and dust all over the inside, and a large stain on the drivers side seat (which I got out myself with a steam upholstery cleaner). I also was blasted with dust and grime when I turned on the air conditioner the first time. Whoever detailed it didn't do a very good job. Once I had the car back for a day or two I realize the power windows aren't working properly. Frustrating. I call and the office person tells me I need to bring it back in so they can "reset" the car. She says this is something that should have been done before it was returned to me. I drive it allllll the way back out, only to be told that the windows are working fine and there is nothing they can do. He said he windows would be reset by simply holding down the button for ten seconds and that's all that needed to be done. Why I wasn't told this when I originally called, I don't know. That would have been nice, huh? I strongly expressed my frustration to the tech about the fact that I wasted 40 minutes driving out to their shop for no reason. He basically told me to calm down, and was very patronizing to me and my experience. I do NOT APPRECIATE how he treated me, at all. The way I have been treated by this shop in general tells me they don't respect my time or my business. The car looks good. Which is why I give them two stars. But they need to work on their customer service and communication skills. Overall it was an extremely stressful and frustrating experience. read more

However, I come to pick up my vehicle that is supposedly fixed and I leave the parking lot and there are rattling noises that were never there before. They told me that it wasn't part of the accident that I was in.. which makes no sense because my car was towed from the spot the accident occurred so how would they know? So here I leave the body shop after paying $1k and my car still has issues which is frustrating after paying that amount out of pocket.. Not a good experience at all... read more

Amazing service! I had a car window broken in a smash and grab. Called the dealer and called here. They both ordered parts from manufacturer, but Great Plains quoted labor at half of the dealer cost. Perfect work, amazing communication, friendly staff - particularly Jimmy, my service advisor, and the work was done quicker than estimated. To top it off, my car was cleaned inside and out when i picked it up. I will absolutely be coming back here with any additional auto needs. read more

I had a vehicle with rear bumper damaged repaired here. The vehicle was returned to me with misaligned body panels, a trunk lid that closed an angle to the bumper, a quarter panel that stuck out beyond the trunk and taillight, and with paint missing from edges of the bumper. They brought it back in, used touch up on the paint spots and half fixed the body panel alignment. The trunk sits properly now, but the quarter panel sticks out still and the bumper to taillight is still uneven. The paint color seems to match and they were quick so 2 stars for that, but I absolutely would not recommend this place for any reason. read more

My van got in a minor accident over 5 years ago and Great Plains did all the repair work. Some time later, the corners of the door that was repaired began to rust. Initially the rust wasn't too bad and my parents figured the work was out of warranty anyway so they just let it go. The following winter, the salt and slush on the roads caused the rust to worsen dramatically. Since I was in need of transportation for school and the van was getting old, my parents gave it to me to use. And since I go to school on the west coast, I wanted to get it all fixed up in Omaha before shipping it out. As the rust was easily the biggest cosmetic issue, I figured it would be worth seeing if Great Plains could do anything about it since they did the original repair. I brought the van in and the staff was very accommodating; they told me that all their work has a lifetime warranty, got some pictures of the repair, and went to look it up. However, since the original repair was done so long ago, the records were no longer immediately accessible. They told me that they would go through their archives and advised me to go through mine in the meantime. After hours of searching, I couldn't find any proof that they had worked on the van all those years ago. Dismayed, I figured it would end there. I figured they wouldn't even bother looking and would just wait a few days before telling me there was nothing they could do. After all, there was a cost incentive NOT to find the records and they had no obligation to do so. However, two days later I get a call from them saying that they DID find the old records and that they would fix all of the rust at no charge! I was ecstatic! They even accommodated my fairly tight shipping schedule! I called them on 8/27 and they initially offered to get it in on 9/14, which was after the car was due to be shipped (9/9), so they shuffled their schedule and got me in on 9/1. 2 days later (9/3), the car was ready to be picked up and the door looked as good as new! Great Plains Auto Body provided by far the best customer service I've ever experienced. Most places wouldn't even entertain the idea of fixing such a badly rusted door, let alone doing so without being provided some kind of invoice but Great Plains really stood behind their work and happily made it right! If you want your car repaired somewhere that does good work and won't mess around if there IS a problem, look no further than Great Plains Auto Body! read more

I bought a new '16 Colorado Z71 2 months ago. The front air damn below the bumper is only 5" off the ground. I wanted it removed, especially for more 4x4 ground clearance, and for looks. YouTube videos show it could be done in 45 mins or so, but my dealer, Huber Chevrolet said they would charge 2.6 shop hours, or $260. I had one other good experience with GPAB in the past, so drove in 2 days ago. They made an appt for me yesterday. I came in at 1:30pm, the job was done in 28 minutes, AND, they charged me $54!! The front office staff, the estimators and the shop tech were all so, so nice. The waiting area was almost like a showroom. Everything was terrific. Thanks isn't much, but I'm so grateful, Great Plains!!!! read more

The only thing saving this place from a one star review from me is their customer service. They got back to me quickly and were very friendly. I am an automotive technician and was hit by another driver, I wanted my car done by certified mini techs. So, I took it here and was told I needed a rear quarter panel and a new wheel. I also told them I need an alignment since the accident threw it off. After about two weeks of having my car they told me it was done and the wheel was on the way. First off, it was VERY obvious that a new quarter panel was not put on and they tried straightening it out but to a trained eye I can definitely see the dent still there. Second, the alignment was worse after they got done with it so I told them they are redoing it. The day I went in for these fixes, my appointment was at one o'clock and I was handed back my keys at 1:27. How can a technician swap a wheel AND do a four wheel alignment in 30 minutes?! I guarantee that they didn't touch my alignment and said they did. Absolutely low quality work and will never take my business here again. As said before, the customer service is fantastic but the shop side of things is atrocious. read more

They did a fantastic job. Our vehicle looks brand new again. We simply couldn't be happier with the people the service and the quality of their work. I would not recommend this company. They are not concerned with the safety and final outcome of your vehicle. They want to fix everything, even if it shouldn't be fixed due to safety concerns. They will not give you a bid without you signing a form that you intend to have them fix it first. We told them we wanted to know exactly what was wrong with the car and then make a decision...they won't do this. Do not take your vehicle here if you even think there's a chance that you don't want to fix it. They were mad when we decided not to fix our car and lowered our bid from what they originally gave us. Horrible customer service, I brought in my truck to get worked on, the work they did was awful. Primer was bubbling up before I even left, they were late on repair time. Didn't fix all repairs on estimate as promised. To make matters worse they actually scratched my vehicle with detail buffer, all along both sides, then lied about using buffer even though wax residue was present where they missed cleaning it off? Wow. How is this place in business? Do not use this place if you value quality and workmanship. What a joke. What a nightmare! read more

Very unhappy with Great Plains, they repaired my car after I was hit by an uninsured driver. They handled the insurance great. However, within a year the fender they repaired began to rust. I took it back and they fixed it, and stated it was the only time they would fix it again. The guy even stated that it is missing a plastic sleeve over the bent metal and that's why it rusted. They had no answer as to why the plastic cover wasn't put on after the initial repair. Very disappointed. read more

I have previously had a very positive experience with a new Mercedes at this shop when they needed to paint and replace a tow hook on that car that came with a factory one that did not fit right - minor issue but working with them was a pleasure. Today, I sent my daughter to them for removal of some substance that had gotten on the paint of her 2013 RAV 4 and they went out of their way to handle this issue for her - not knowing what the substance was (it appeared on the paint after a recent long trip with the car). In addition, they were "more than fair" with what they charged her for this minor issue. Kudos to Ranelle and the whole team at Great Plains. It is rare to have people or businesses in this day and age spend the time that they did in trying their best for their client. Although we hope we do not need them any time soon, if we do, there is no question where we will have any future needed repairs done! read more

We had hit a deer with our car and it had taken out the right front and radiator. They came and did the tow, got the body work done quickly and washed/vacuumed it out - the last part was very nice. They also did a nice job on the body work. I would go back to them, nice people as well. read more
