It's a small space but they use it well; there are knickknacks and cool antique pieces everywhere you look, and the owners are knowledgeable about what they sell and about the history of the town. This shop differs from other local antique shops in that it sells more small pieces and collectibles, rather than large pieces of expensive furniture and framed paintings. It's a much cozier and more welcoming feel than the showroom-style places nearby where you're scared to touch anything with a price tag on it. I collect vintage compacts and cosmetics and Un-Common Antiques has saved me a couple trips to Concord, as I can find the pieces I'm looking for here without the ridiculous markups and the long drive.

I had the opportunity to visit the store one day while staying in a nearby town for work and I popped in to do some Christmas shopping. To some it may be overwhelming with how much he has, I view it as strawberry picking in flea market bins looking for rare / unique items. I bought a good amount of stuff and found some good presents on his $10 rack. He gave me a few stickers to slap on my refrigerator and tag him on Instagram. Definitely a place checking out. All clothes and shoes that were in decent condition, regardless of brand name were in the boutique section for $20 or more- the section formerly reserved for high end clothes only. I feel this does a great disservice to the community Bootstraps claims to serve- those in need. The community they serve also need clothes in decent condition for work- the new set up makes this unfeasible. The jewelry and housewares are also overpriced for the quality. Though I understand fully the need for revenue to keep the store alive, I think the current approach is off base for the mission of the company.
