MAN TGIS THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IVE HAD SINCE I WAS 9 .. im 20 now. this food taste like how chinese food used to taste back when life was good . so good. i got general tso and usually general tso chicken is always good for me but the fact that the fried rice had taste and didn't taste plain took the food from a 7.5 to a 20. and mind you the chicken was good but it was so tender and juicy. i didn't eat the rest but i saved it for next day and didn't really eat at work because i was excited to finish my left overs. i ate the rice first it was so good and i feel like the portions are decent. but i want more . anyways i digress the food is very good to me !! and i don't even usually rate fried rice and chicken this high but phewwww ima need a week reset after this. read more

Not sure what happened? The sweet and sour pork had a crunchy texture instead of doughy. The shrimp lo mein had plenty of lo mein, but not too many shrimp. Maybe the cook was sick and the substitute is still learning? This is not what we have come to enjoy from Great Taste Chinese. Hopefully, if we return it will be back to normal? read more

COVID19 Quarantine Review (Pick Up) Great Taste is my go to Chinese Food spot, and I was happy to see they're still operating during the Quarantine. For my most recent order, I called in my order on a Saturday night for pick up. When I arrived at Great Taste to pick up, I was happy to see they had a steady business. Upon arrival, park and head into the storefront. There's a small section that has plexiglass to protect their workers. Let them know you're there for pick up, then wait outside. When your order is ready, they'll let you know. The quality, service and cost was all typical for Great Taste. Looking forward to ordering again soon. read more

I supported this place all through Covid. I ordered egg foo young, paid for it via Apple Pay on Yelp. I go there to pick it up and asked for a side of hot oil cause I like my stuff spicy. I used to live up the street from here and would often order a variety of dishes with my roommates, and we all loved their dinners and sides. I am a big fan of the crab rangoon. I have since moved to Cherry Hill with my husband, but have yet to find a place that measures up to Great Taste, so we still travel back to the Shade for our Chinese take-out fix. I only tried this place out because my office is within walking distance. Before I went, I checked out Yelp. I saw so many negative reviews, but I was really jonsin for some Chinese food. I took a chance... I figured that a lunch order of General Tso's Chicken with fried rice and wonton soup for $6.00 sounded super cheap. But I could just throw it out if I didn't like it. Long story short... I completely devoured the meal. I enjoyed it so much that I went back the next day and got the same order and enjoyed it just as much. Is it fancy? Nope... They have changed either ownership or the cooks or both, because several times in a row the chicken and broccoli was just awful - as in I threw it away and cooked something myself. Amazing. This place should be considered fast food. I call to place an order and they always say ten minutes. I live four minutes away. It takes me one minute to get in my car and maybe another to park and walk in. Nine times out of ten my food is ready when I get there. The other time it is only minutes away and it's because I ordered ninety dollars worth of food for the entire house. I want to give it 3 1/2 almost 4 stars because I really like this place. Because the reviews were mixed, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. Great Taste is more flavorful than most Chinese take out. The price is reasonable. We ordered the shrimp and lobster, shrimp and garlic, ribs, soup and some vegetarian entrees. All were great! Lots of meat in the ribs. Typically, shrimp and lobster sauce is either delicious or disgusting. Sometimes it's bland slime with chewy straw-like shrimp. Not so this time. It was wonderful. I'll definitely order it again. The sauce was full of flavor. The shrimp (medium not large) was fresh, flavorful and plentiful. Peas were sweet and firm. The only downside was that this dish included fake crab. There was plenty of shrimp, so they didn't need it as a filler. Maybe some people like fake crab? Their shrimp and garlic sauce was also great. Now, I'm not saying it's gourmet or anything like that. Just tasty take out, which is rare! Usually with inexpensive Chinese take out, all entrees tastes like oily soy sauce and rice no matter which dish you order. Great Taste dishes actually have great taste!! Dinner combos are under $8 and have decent portions. Lunch combos under $6. The standard rectangle container was half fried rice and half entree, not mostly rice. Combos come with either an egg roll or soup. The fact that they deliver is a definite bonus. And no MSG! We're switching to Great Taste from now on!! read more

Absolutely horrible. Used an extremely amount of large celery and end stems of broccoli and so very little of meat in the 3 different entrees we ordered. No taste to any of the 3 dishes. This has been my "go to" Chinese restaurant for many years. Not anymore. While they have the best Won Ton Soup around, the other dishes aren't what they used to be. For example, the Seafood Delight. It doesn't seem fair to charge $12.45 for 3 medium size shrimp and one scallop cut into small pieces. And you know what the rest of the seafood was? Those disgusting fake crab sticks. Enough said. Honest to god worst chinese I've ever had. Go down Kings to Ming Gardens; they dont deliver because their food is so good they don't need to, and you wont have an issue with picking it up.
