First of all, let me start off by saying that every single dish that my family and I have tried have been delicious and most times beyond phenomenal. This is a hidden gem, but also the best place for a quick takeout bite. The appetizers are delicious and amazing. The first time my husband and I came here we got three company. It's almost like a sampler dinner platter that if you're not sure or you feel like having a couple different types of Chinese food, you cannot have to make a decision and let's face it folks, sometimes you just want a little bit of each dish and sometimes your partner won't share lol I go to is typically GENERAL so but I am not a fan of all the goopy and sticky sauce. I like my chicken white meat and not fatty but also a little crunch to it so I know I could be a pain in the butt when it comes to texture or Trying to manage how much sugar I am getting in with my protein, but depending on what you like or don't like if you let your server know, the Chef will make it to Order and not to mention the staff are super kind very personable and professional. The place is spotless clean as well as their bathrooms Are very clean and kept up. They have something for everyone. I've had their sushi rolls and they are delicious and freshly made. I've had Vietnamese dishes, and they have been freshly prepared and very flavorful. We typically will always order soup. My husband enjoys their wonton soup, and I adore their egg drop. It is very tasty and hits the spot. The crab Rangoon's are freshly handmade. Every time we go it seems like they just were made fresh from scratch, and several times we have dined in and saw them at a table, making them from scratch. They truly put their heart and soul into this business. It is not just a place to go and clock in but many people come in because they've been going for decades and they are like family. Whether we are taking out food or having dinner, they always ask about my family and how my mother is doing since she was not doing well for a bit. I truly appreciate that sincerity and kindness, but mostly because they don't have to ask how my family is. They are running a business, but they do choose to be kind and personable and caring people. Not only is the food delicious and fresh, but we have now stopped going anywhere else and it seems like we always want to go in their direction because of their fresh delicious and reasonably priced food So, I guess we are one step away from being adopted as family, because we absolutely love this place Hey, maybe we will see you there soon. we have been going to oriental pearl off & on for many years; it's a local favorite. on our last visit, the food was better than ever, every dish was fresh and flavorful. Hallelujah! I finally found a Chinese restaurant in Burlington county that knows how to do sesame chicken right! The chicken came in large chunks of white meat, perfectly cooked and covered in the perfect amount of flavorful sauce. Every bite seriously made me do a happy dance. The beef and broccoli was another win -- the broccoli was crisp and fresh, not overcooked or soggy, just the way I like it. The lo mein was saucy with that nostalgic flavor that instantly reminded me of the Chinese food I grew up on. Only reason I subtracted a star was because they didn't provide fried noodles or sweet & sour sauce. For my first visit I tried all the classics which they nailed, and I will definitely be back to try more dishes. read more

Overall some of the best Chinese food in the area. The restaurant was clean, food was fresh, and was also high quality. We ordered pickup and the food was ready on time and was hot. The only downside; it is a little more expensive than many Chinese restaurants, but I'm sure it has to do with a better quality product. Food is always delicious and fresh! We LOVE their Thai Basil Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Kung Pao Chicken, Noodle soup, and any of their sushi rolls! It's a perfect place if you want different varieties of Asian that are all made well with high quality ingredients. My pickup order was not ready when I arrived. We waited about 20 min for them to hand food over. Got back to the car and discovered one entree was not in the bag. Walked back to restaurant and waited another 20 min for them make it. Got home and realized they left a side out of the order . Food was bland and just seemed off. Found this place a few months back and have gotten take out many times since. This restaurant makes one of the best General Tso's tofu I've ever had. They bread the tofu and give lots of sauce. The sauce is sweet, sour and a little spicy. The taste is fresh and not oily at all. I've also tried the Cold Sesame Noodle which is usually pretty good but definitely not my favorite. The Sesame Noodles can be inconsistent so sometimes there is a lot of the sauce and others very little. The sauce can also be super thin and watered down at times. The overall quality of ingredients here are above your run of the mill Chinese take out type place. There is much more flavor to the food as well. Although it is somewhat against my Yelp-ness not to try multiple dishes from a location I frequent, the General Tso's tofu is so good I haven't tried anything else because I enjoy it so much. Prices are average but portion sizes can be smaller than average. So in some cases it may seem very slightly overpriced. However, the quality of ingredients and flavor well make up for it. You can sit inside to eat but it is a very small area and seemed a little cramped if there were more than a few groups inside. Also, service has varied. Nothing terrible but somewhat unfriendly at times. Overall, if you're in the area and craving Chinese food, I wouldn't bother going anywhere else! read more

This was our second time ordering with Oriental Pearl, our regular place shut down at the beginning of the year, so we have been searching for a new place. Delivery was quicker than expected. Wonton soup is good, not great. And felt like they skimped on the wonton. I'm used to a completely full container. This was half full of wonton and rest was broth. General Tso is excellent, chicken and broccoli was good. Pork fried rice had slices of pork, which I wasn't used to but really enjoyed it. Tai sweet n sour chicken had great flavor but the amount of chicken in the dish was really lacking. All in all, I will order from them again but still searching for someplace that I would rate 5 star read more

This is my first visit. My wife wanted me to try this place out with her. This restaurant is a hidden gem right on Main street in Moorestown! Its hiding in plain site! Parking can be tricky if you dont score a parking spot on Main street. You can also park in the rear of the restaurant, there are a few alleys that lead to parking spots behind most restaurants and businesses on Main street. The place is quaint, clean and has an inviting feel. The staff is super friendly and make you feel really welcome. I ordered the steamed dumplings, my wife had the Spring Shrimp Roll. Our main course, we both had the Mongolian Beef with fried rice. The beef was really tender, the sauce tasted pretty good. One suggestion, I would suggest getting this dish with no onions. The onions were extra plentiful. I had a Coca-Cola as my drink. I was hungry when we got there and left satisfied. Oriental Pearl has Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai cuisine to choose from. My family's "go to" takeout is The Oriental Pearl. The owner is very nice. The food is freshly-made on premises. No reheating of pre-made stuff like so many Asian chains. We love meeting there for birthdays and special occasions! They have a really nice appetizer which is fun for all to share while talking; a sample of different foods are on a wooden Lazy Susan, is a great start to a meal. My son's favorite Asian dish is Orange Chicken. We've moved seven times in his 22 years, and he says the Oriental Pearl is the best Asian food he's ever had. I'm 60, and I agree! Their Chinese Pizza is a great appetizer too. The bread is fresh and delicious. Their sauces are excellent. The breading on some of the dishes are light, and delicious. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. When we get takeout, it's always delivered well-packed, delivered on time, and is delicious. For sales people and people driving through, call ahead, and you can drive right up. Literally, their front door is steps from your car. They have Teriyaki Skewers (I think they call it Teriyaki Beef Appetizers) which are easy to eat while driving, along with egg rolls and spring rolls. If you order Sweet & Sour Chicken, and get the sauce on the side, they are easy to eat while driving, and beat fast food! I see commercials all the time for pre-made meals to keep n your refrigerate and you can heat easily. Why not order fresh, locally-prepared food and have it waiting for you in your refrigerator when you get home? I highly recommend the Oriental Pearl Restaurant. My nose led me to this cute little restaurant. The greeting was the best ever. We were escorted to the honeymoon seats nice and romantic were told. They made us feel so special and at home. The atmosphere was quiet and the lighting was subtle. Our waitress was warm and inviting. I hadn't been here before so my safe zone was the general Tao chicken and it was so YUMFUL! OMG! The portions were good but I could have eaten more because it was great! I also went with n the brown instead of the white rice. It was filling. They serve tea. I absolutely loved the tea especially since it was a little cool and damp outside it was the perfect compliment to my meal. Love this restaurant. I cannot say enough good things about the older waitress at this establishment. I have never seen a more hardworking, invested, and skillful individual within my years both attending restaurants, and furthermore working in the industry. Today, this woman was short handed and went out of her way to make my father a sushi appetizer despite being the sole server, and the fact that the individual in charge of doing so (Ben) was absent from his job. She went above and beyond, and truthfully is the vast majority of why myself and my family keep coming back. As for the teenage girls working at the counter, I have never seen such ignorance and incompetence. These girls watched this older woman handle the whole restaurant on her own as they sipped their Starbucks and proceeded to do the bare minimum. Yeah, I actually gave this place a third chance. Last week, I'd just gotten out of class and needed to grab a quick lunch before heading into work. I asked the woman at the front counter if they could do General Tso's Tofu in the lunch special, since only chicken was listed. She said yes. I also asked for a spring roll. I should have checked before I stopped at home to eat, but my order was made with chicken and the spring roll was an egg roll. I got back in my car, went all the way back to the restaurant and politely told her that I wanted tofu, not chicken. Now, this is the part that pissed me off and is a good example of terrible customer service. She acted as though I was lying and told me that I ordered chicken. At that point, I informed her that I don't even eat chicken and therefore never would have ordered it. She refused to chalk it up to a misunderstanding and insisted multiple times that I ordered chicken. Believe me, the word 'chicken' isn't even in my food-ordering vocabulary and hasn't been for years. Finally, they remade the food. However, I'm pretty sure they merely scooped the chicken out and reused the same container (I guess to save having to toss the rice and broccoli), because I found little bits of leftover chicken after I ate the tofu. It had been years since I'd been at Oriental Pearl, but on a cold Sunday night my family was craving Chinese and after perusing all the menus online, settled on our old favorite. The dining room is small and pink, and filled up pretty quickly around 6pm. The menus is extensive, including sushi options (which you can see being hand made by the sushi chef towards the back of the dining room), Japanese, Thai, and traditional Chinese take out items. We all opted for Chinese, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. As a bonus for dining in, you get complimentary chips, crispy noodles with duck and mustard sauces, and steaming hot tea - just the right beverage for a very chilly night. There was only one waitress working, but she hustled to take care of the entire restaurant and couldn't have been any friendlier. I won't hesitate to recommend Oriental Pearl next time we're looking for Chinese! read more

This place excells at quality ingredients and preparations. Nothing felt oily or heavy. Everything seemed made to order. Nothing was excessively sweet (for my taste). All across the board, noodles, rice, tofu, meat, vegetables, sauces, egg roll, the textures were all perfect. Perhaps the quantity of each dish was a bit less than "fast food" Chinese restaurants for the price, but there was plenty of everything. The dining area looked nice, but I was getting take-out. One weird quirk is the online menu doesn't seem to offer beverages. However, it would be a shame to have this with soda (and I like soda). Maybe I just couldn't find the beverage section. But, it's a small inconvenience for such quality. Oh, and the General Tso's Tofu is breaded, not just cubes of tofu. With all this, I'd still give 5 stars even if the staff had an arrogant, aloof attitude, lol. But that's far from the case! I got a very pleasant phone call a few minutes after my meal was ready to pick up. Once inside, the staff was very upbeat and kind despite it being 30 minutes till closing time. read more

I've given this place many "second chances" but I think now we're done. We loved the original in Haddonfield, and were happy when they opened a store in Moorestown. They never seemed to be quite as good as the original, but the food was passable - basically Chinese food for Americans with children. Before the Covid lockdowns they were already less than stellar but acceptable, even though the takeout orders were frequently missing items requiring a return trip. During the lockdown the food became very skimpy for the price, but quality was actually a little better which kept us returning. Since the return to "normalcy" the food has become worse and worse. The last 3 times we ordered we were disappointed. This 4th time was the last we'll give them our business. One of us always gets Gen'l Tso's chicken. The chicken was very dry (re-heated?) and the sauce was very sweet with almost no heat. OK. No heat, tbh. To be safe I just ordered chicken wings. I mean, what Chinese restaurant doesn't have good chicken wings? I'll tell you which one - it's Oriental Pearl. The wings were very small, and burnt. Edible, but just. The Beef Teriyaki was tasty, but if there was even 2.5 oz. of meat I'd be surprised. Almost no veggies, a lot of sauce. The worst dish of all was the fried rice. It was disgusting - tasted like rotten meat. After we each tried a bite we threw the rest away, The fortune cookies were nice and crispy, so yay. This place is absolutely outstanding. I went there with my daughter late at night and they had the nicest employees along with the best Vietnamese and Thai food. We had to come back the next afternoon, today, and we brought the entire family. They served us immediately and we ordered twelve dishes, yes twelve!! There wasn't a single thing we didn't love, and the family favorite was the Pork Chop over broken rice. Talk about MELT IN YOUR MOUTH kind of meat. This place should be on Food Network. I was there on mothers day this year. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken. Although the food was tasty, only 3 pieces of chicken in my meal. The portion was no where enough food. I left hungry and totally disappointed. Also, the service was horrible. I could not even get a refill on water. I am eating spicy food here people. I know it was mothers day, and busy, but come on man, have more staff on than one waitress. I would never go back after this experience but my mother loves the place. I guess I am showing my age. I have been to Oriental Pearl in Moorestown several times over the last 20 years and each time I tell myself "Never again." Their food isn't bad. It simply has no flavor and none of the pizzazz that you expect from Thai flavors or other outstanding East Asian flavors since they claim to be able to handle about a dozen different cuisines. Tonight I was by myself and had worked a very long day so I didn't want to wander very far for a decent takeout dinner. As I was leaving my office, about a dozen blocks away, I called my order in. A teen-aged girl answered and I gave her my very short order, a single appetizer order of 4 fried shrimp and a quart of Pork Lo Mein. I told the order taker that I needed utensils for 2 people and would like some fried noodles and dip. She said "Not a problem." I arrived at the restaurant and since I have a mobility problem, I need the staff to deliver my order out to my car. They did that. But when I got home, I found that there was NO utensils, only chopsticks, and not even any napkins. That was minor since I had paper towels but the shrimp were simply loaded in a paper bag. I pulled them out and they looked as if they had come out of a stamped form since they were exactly alike. I presume they were not fresh shrimp but had come shaped then frozen. Now fresh shrimp has a nice but fairly strong flavor but not these. They had texture but NO flavor at all. Worthless. OK, so I moved on to the Pork Lo Mein. When I opened the lid of the container, I immediately noticed that the food inside was a wan light tan color. No vegetables like peas or green beans stood out. Very few grilled onions too even though I had asked for EXTRA onions. I was able to eat about half the container of food and I think I counted 3 small pieces of grilled onion. The taste of the dish was light tan as well. No snap, no pizzazz whatsoever. Just a dish of bland! They did include 2 bags of fried noodles with dipping sauce. Unfortunately, the fried noodles must have been on sale for 5,000 pounds for $20 at Walmart. They were stale and had no flavor certainly not the great fresh, crunchy experience of good noodles made at the restaurant and fried as you walk in the door. These I threw away. Had this been a first try at this place, I would have tempered the review but I have lived in this town for 37 years and I found yet another reason why I should not return to this place. read more

The experience tonight was excellent as always but was obvious that the sole server was working the entire restaurant while the two young girls on take out orders helped a minor bit to clear table or help her. Also Ben was supposed to be in 6pm and we left 7 and he was still not there. He makes the sushi appetizers. Despite how busy the server was she made my sushi appetizer! Very disappointed in the pad Thai. Extremely dry and lacked flavor. I had to throw it out. Not to mention, they gave us the wrong order when we picked it up (even after asking for the phone number it was under), and we had to drive back to the restaurant to pick up our food. I guess they thought we were trying to con them because even though we had opened the food containers and touched the food, they wanted it back. Well done OP! We were both craving some type of Asian fair, but I wanted Thai, hubs wanted Chinese so we thought we'd give this place a shot. It was rainy and gross last night so there were a lot of people coming to grab take out and maybe only two or three tables occupied. It's small inside, but clean and brightly lit. I didn't inspect the bathrooms. The gentleman running the front of the house is darling...he asked if we liked chicken wings because they were on special and little different - garlic chicken wings. I was about to say "nah" because I'm SO OVER SPECIALS and the stupid cost, but he pretty much read my mind and said "they're half off!" Allllllright. They have those fried vegetable chips (like the spongy stuff) out of the table for you to snack on instead of noodles. They came out, six of them, and had the texture of General Tso's with a garlicky, semi sweet sauce. Good, too sweet for my tastes but JR C. loved them. Price tag? 2 freaking dollars. I had the Pad Thai, JR had garlic chicken and scallops - the portion sizes are tremendous and they both had a price tag of $13.95. There was a significant amount of large shrimp in my PT which were delicious, but not as much chicken - it was really good and I found I was on a scavenger hunt for more chicken. The sauce on the PT could have had a bit more "oomph!" for lack of a better word, but they mentioned not using peanut oil and I'm pretty sure that was the flavor I was looking for. JR's portion size was huge, and again, they were not stingy with the scallops. He had a side of fried rice and this was the only "no" for me - it tasted like it was made with brown rice and was kind of boring. The service was very polite, doting...but not annoying. Overall, a very nice place to come get a tasty bowl of something heavy! I couldn't really imagine getting sushi here when Akira is right up the road; but for Vietnamese, Thai, or Chinese, I will definitely be back. read more

I've lived in this area for awhile and have been inteding to stop here but never did, now I regret that as I obviously been missing out. The place is very clean and there is plenty of street parking for easy access. The prices are slightly higher than you find at your average Chinese joint but the quality more than makes up for it. We had Hot & Sour soup which was some of the best I've ever had, followed by Garlic Beef, Vegetable Lo Mein, Thai Pork w/ Pineapples and Fried rice. It was all SOOOO good. The service was prompt and attentive. I believe they do take out but eating in was a treat. Highly recommended read more
