Their bill is really low for the quality. If patrons complain they need to go to Portland and spend 250% more. The owners are super nice and you should eat here for cheap quick eats.

All the food was warm, but not that good. I did not even bother getting any fried rice as it was just yellow rice topped with frozen veggies. Not pictured was the wanton soup. The broth was almost flavorless and the wantons were undercooked. There reason I did not give 1 star was because the waitress was very kind and refilled your drink extremely quickly. For a soda and the lunch buffet I paid $20.

We went on a Friday night and some trays had very limited food items. The food was not hot but warm and I always want my food hot. Adults dinner is $16.95 and really is a good price considering the selections of food offered. Some appetizers were refried so it was dried ie. Chicken wings. Overall an okay meal.

Food was good and worth the price; the coconut shrimp especially was delicious. The staff were attentive and took used plates quickly.

There is nothing special about the food BUT - the magic is that it is consistent, expertly prepped, old-timey comfort food. It's the food you wanna nom camped out on the couch in front of a good movie. Portions are SUPER generous, and my family firmly believes they have the best crab rangoons and eggrolls in the greater Augusta area. There are endless specials and lunch combinations and everything I have tried I have enjoyed. The pu-pu for two with fried rice is, of course, their MVP. Service is fast and friendly, the staff are always accommodating, polite, and happy to chat. If you visit once, there is a good chance they will remember you and your favorite drink! The inside decor is dated in a 1980's charming kind of way. You can tell the tables and booths are well loved and well used. Traditional hot tea, soft drinks, beer, and wine are available and the cocktails come in the exotic glasses with all the paper umbrellas and maraschino cherry garnish. This is where I go when I'm looking for great portions, fast service, and friendly atmosphere. Oh! They are also good for large groups/family dinner night. Excellent for take out as well. There is plenty of parking, ADA ramp accessible and there are excellent views of the city and Capitol building.

Looking up the menu online I found it had a great selection of Pakistani/Indian food. And the real treat was this place was affordable! As someone who eats alone fairly often this was great, especially since Indian restaurants tend to be pricier for individuals. Online the menus averaged between $11-$13 per entree ($2.50 for the likes of naan). I was sold. When I got to the place I excitedly walked up and ordered chicken kahari and garlic naan before being told my total was $26. I was expecting a total about $10 less than that. I went ahead and completed the order but I was a bit put off. I found a paper menu taped to a fridge nearby with updated pricing. Items were greatly upped, some even doubling. If consider you going here please use this photo for reference. The food took about 30 minutes to receive, came out piping hot. Overall it was pretty good. Not the best I've had but definitely hit the spot. I didn't finish it all, they give you a decent amount. This place was ok, but I definitely got a "to-go" vibe from the inside. It's just a bummer the prices aren't "to-go" prices. If I'm paying $30 for dinner I'd like to sit down in a decent restaurant.

The Governor's Restaurant was located in a small town, as we was taking our students to Camp...I knew their had to be a mom and pops dinner in the area. Oh yeah, my palette and saliva co-signed my suspicions. I promise I feel behind because my keen sense of awareness told me to be on the look out for advertisement because I know what I knew. Have y'all ever heard that cops and bus drivers know the best places to eat? FACTS. Oh yeah I was going to find a Dinner like a squirrel looking for nuts. After we exited the woods our keen sense of knowing what we knew was heighten and without obstruction. Within 2 miles, there was the Governors Diner billboard and off to grandmas house we went. To add to our delight, there was more than enough motorcoach bus parking available. We go in and as always the hostess was relieved it was just us two. We ordered EVERYTHING our stomach craved, the sweet tea made me grin uncontrollably in a sinister type of way. First came out the hot rolls, I told my coworker I didn't want any until he spread the butter across the middle. I don't know what was in those rolls but I ended up eating an entire one knowing the carbs and meal was against my waistline. The food was just as expected of a small town diner including the portion size. When we finally came up for air, just like twins completing each other sentences planned on our return for breakfast the next morning. The price was as expected, service and ambiance the same. They offered deserts on daily special which we could not pass up. The next morning, we was 2nd and 3rd in line patiently waiting for some good ole country breakfast. Of course The Governor's Diner didn't disappoint on their country breakfast, we hurt ourselves and knew it would be a lonnng way back. Have any of you couldn't decide on what to order, so you ask your person what they was going to get? And just when you think you know what to order, they change their order you change yours then you compromise and say ok you get that and I'll get that, gimme some of yours and I'll give you some of mines? My one small snag, is a snag that bites many takeout Chinese places - whether it's sesame, general tsos or orange chicken - not fried enough. The under fry didn't ruin my experience.
