We've ordered takeout from here so many times and it's always been amazing! How have I not reviewed Great Wall yet? They do have a spacious dining room that always seems full, but we've never eaten in-house. Always order our food for pick up or delivery. The portions here are huge and every dish comes with white rice. We recently ordered the BBQ pork low mein, orange chicken, and the curry chicken. The curry chicken is my new favorite item! Seared chunks of seasoned chicken with bell peppers, onions, celery, and then tossed in a spicy curry sauce. This curry sauce is incredible and I wish they offered as a side sauce. The orange chicken never misses and they always serve it in massive portions. The BBQ low mein was a new order item for us. This is noodles in low mein sauce with veggies, and thin sliced BBQ pork. The number one dinner was huge and very good and the shrimp fu young, hubby states that the gravy was weak or missing some ingredient and was light on the gravy too, other than that we enjoyed the food. We enjoyed our Christmas dinner at this spot last night! We we excited to do something different and super grateful this spot was open. We called ahead and were told they were not taking reservations on Christmas and were recommended to come before 5, if possible. Upon arrival nearly every table was empty but there were a couple of larger parties. The staff were running around and shared they were really overwhelmed with to-go orders. We were told it would be an hour and a half wait for food. They asked if we wanted to dine-in and when I said "yes," the hostess said it would be a bit because they needed to clean the table. Definitely wasn't getting the vibe that they wanted to serve us. We took our seats and the waitress seemed pretty bothered having to even take our drink order. I started putting in appetizer orders to hopefully start getting food out and it actually didn't take long. The egg rolls were delicious- my niece devoured two herself. I loved the crab rangoons- my sister said they may have been the best she ever tasted. It was quite trying to place our order once we were ready\ the waitress saw I was tryin to get her attention and ended up going to do another task before coming to our table. We ordered a variety of entrees and all agreed everything was incredible. The smaller kids in our party loved the barbecue pork. I thought the hot and sour soup was really tasty. I also loved the sesame chicken and orange chicken. My brother in law was really a fan of the house fried rice. We ordered more drinks and it was challenging to even get the waitresses attention. At one point we had to remind her about drinks we ordered. We had to ask for water refills when our cups ran out even though a table right next to us was offered more without asking. The restrooms are disgusting. Each member of our party recommended "holding it" if you could wait to use them. They really needed to be serviced. Low on soap, out of paper towels. The handles on things were sticky. Quite gross. With little ones in our party, we really couldn't avoid a bathroom break. Overall, the food is amazing. Love the big round tables and lazy Susan's to spin food around on. The staff weee not very friendly and made it seem like we were bothering them. I ordered take out from online menu. The online prices aren't accurate, they need to fix. I paid more when i arrived. The lady on phone couldn't understand my order. Went over it several times with her and still was wrong when i picked up. I just paid and took it without saying anything as we were just hungry and didn't want to wait any longer for them to fix the issue. I paid and said thank you and the lady just turned around and walked away. Terrible customer service!!! I think you should thank your paying customers... especially since you had no customers even at your establishment when i came in... you need buisness. But this might be why... I used to love coming to Great Wall Chinese Cuisine. Not anymore... I usually like to order the vegetarian chow mein and get it to go. The last two times I ordered it, it was so salty and lacked any other flavor. The service was mediocre at best. I walked in and waited around for several minutes before anyone came out and there was only one other person sitting at a table in the whole restaurant. Would not recommend this place. Ok, so I did go there for takeout on Christmas night, and I get that they were very busy with DoorDash and Uber orders. Maybe I'm wrong, but... - Pan fried noodles: Soggy and flavorless. - BBQ pork: Tough and flavorless. - Chicken lo mein: Probably the worst I've ever had across 5 states. Noodles were mushy and the chicken was slimy with the oddest grey color I've ever seen in poultry of any kind. Again, absolutely no flavor. - Crab rangoons: I'm not a fan so I can't comment personally - I just get them for my daughter. She didn't even finish one. They looked overdone to me yet were still soggy. And I've never seen a rangoon made with cheddar cheese. - Potstickers: Wet, limp, flavorless and oddly shaped. In case you missed the theme here, everything was just soggy and flavorless. The portions are huge, but I'll take quality over quantity. Leftovers are worthless if everything tastes like lukewarm tap water. Sorry Great Wall, there's just too much competition in the Fresno/Clovis area. In fact, I only ended up there because China Chef had already run out of almost everything by 5:00! I think that says it all. I waited five years to try this place again after a string of lackluster experiences. The good things are the nice people working there, the portion sizes, and the fair prices. The problem is the food. Nothing was bad per se. It's just that nothing was especially good. The fried rice was literally composed of oily rice and chicken chunks. Nothing else. There were canned mushrooms in the chow mein, which was oddly devoid of any seasoning. There was nothing kung pao about the kung pao chicken. None of the requisite flavors were present. The chicken in all the chicken dishes was prepped very poorly. A lot of fat and connective tissue was left on it, making it quite unpleasant to eat. Everything tasted pretty much the same, and it was all covered in sooooo much sauce. Lastly, there was no wok hei, something I really look for since it's hard to achieve home. In the end, I say that this place is fine if you just want food, but if you are looking for a Chinese or Chinese-American food experience, you will not find it here. read more

I was hesitant about coming here because I had read previous reviews. I decided to just try their house fried rice. I ordered it with no MSG and no onions. They said the ribs had MSG so I did not have it with ribs. It was still very Salty but tasty. It's hard to judge the restaurant based solely on fried rice. The costumer service is amazing and the food is super good, except the fact that there was a metal shaving in my plate. First, I specified that there would be no onions in my dish, yet there were onions in there. I kind of didn't mind too much, but then as I took a few bites, I noticed something was extra hard to chew, and it was hurting my mouth. It was this long strip of metal that clearly doesn't belong in food. I still continued to eat because I was hungry, but I ate with caution. I checked the other reviews and prayed that this wouldn't happen to me, and here I am, praying that I don't die to FOOD. Really think that the 3-star rating for this place is unfair. We have tried it twice in the past month and loved it. Huge portion sizes and great flavor. The sesame chicken was incredible, the fried shrimp was crisp, fried rice was great and the pan fried noodles on the pork chow mein was also excellent. I ordered and the food was ready in 15-minutes. This place has become my go to for Chinese food. The orange chicken is very good and the house chow mein is a very good value and tasty. I've had a lot of family gatherings here and it is very affordable. The service is excellent, they are very nice and check in on you to make sure you got everything you need to enjoy your meal.
