Wowza. Overload with MSG. I know a lot of Chinese restaurants use it, but this place is to the extreme. The only positive thing I can say are the hostesses, BUT I can't offer anything higher than the 1 star. (3 hours and my tongue is still feeling overwhelmed.)

Ordered waaay too much food, but every single thing was delicious. The waitresses are so friendly, helpful and polite. Seating was quick and the food also came quick. Ordered the crab rangoon, dumplings, vegetable fried rice, house chow mein, Great wall chicken and Kung pao shrimp. Every single thing was good. Would definitely come back. Also, they pack all your leftovers for you! 10/10

Absolutely delicious! The orders were loaded and filled with care, each one tasting fresh and satisfying. I ordered Vegetable Chow Fun, a Half-Order of Pan Fried Noodles, Spring Egg Rolls, and Kung Pao Tofu. This was a to-go order, and everything was correct and ready in a timely manner. I will definitely enjoy again!

My favorite Chinese food restaurant hands down! Best chicken salad in town. Awesome sizzling platters. Great service and the restaurant is clean and pleasant.

Not everything needs to be perfect to bring some joy.

The Great Wall Chinese Cuisine presents itself with decor that is refreshingly simplistic, yet quietly elegant. It's nothing flashy and nothing forced. The circular spinning wheel at the center of the table immediately signals what this place understands best: food is meant to be shared, discussed, and enjoyed together. There was, intriguingly, a lone balloon trapped against the ceiling, an odd detail that somehow encapsulated the rawness and comfort of the space. It wasn't trying to be perfect; it was trying to be real, and that authenticity radiated throughout the room. The food was delivered with confidence. The potstickers were expertly prepared, satisfying without overdoing it. The pan-fried noodles struck that balance of crisp texture and rich flavor. The sesame chicken and beef stood out most: coated in a sauce that felt both familiar and entirely new, layered and memorable without overwhelming the dish itself. And then there was the soda. Genuinely some of the best soda I've ever had: crisp, perfectly sweet, and so refreshing. I would return solely to experience it again. The staff only elevated the experience further. They were so kind, attentive, and visibly proud of what they were serving, as though each table was being welcomed into something personal. The Great Wall Chinese Cuisine doesn't just serve Chinese food. It serves sincerity, and that's far superior than any secret sauce.

We enjoyed our Christmas dinner at this spot last night! We we excited to do something different and super grateful this spot was open. We called ahead and were told they were not taking reservations on Christmas and were recommended to come before 5, if possible. Upon arrival nearly every table was empty but there were a couple of larger parties. The staff were running around and shared they were really overwhelmed with to-go orders. We were told it would be an hour and a half wait for food. They asked if we wanted to dine-in and when I said "yes," the hostess said it would be a bit because they needed to clean the table. Definitely wasn't getting the vibe that they wanted to serve us. We took our seats and the waitress seemed pretty bothered having to even take our drink order. I started putting in appetizer orders to hopefully start getting food out and it actually didn't take long. The egg rolls were delicious- my niece devoured two herself. I loved the crab rangoons- my sister said they may have been the best she ever tasted. It was quite trying to place our order once we were ready\ the waitress saw I was tryin to get her attention and ended up going to do another task before coming to our table. We ordered a variety of entrees and all agreed everything was incredible. The smaller kids in our party loved the barbecue pork. I thought the hot and sour soup was really tasty. I also loved the sesame chicken and orange chicken. My brother in law was really a fan of the house fried rice. We ordered more drinks and it was challenging to even get the waitresses attention. At one point we had to remind her about drinks we ordered. We had to ask for water refills when our cups ran out even though a table right next to us was offered more without asking. The restrooms are disgusting. Each member of our party recommended "holding it" if you could wait to use them. They really needed to be serviced. Low on soap, out of paper towels. The handles on things were sticky. Quite gross. With little ones in our party, we really couldn't avoid a bathroom break. Overall, the food is amazing. Love the big round tables and lazy Susan's to spin food around on. The staff weee not very friendly and made it seem like we were bothering them. Our party of 11 ate for $191 bill and had tons leftover.

Our food was for pickup and everything was ready on time and piping hot. We ordered a lot because we weren't sure of the portion sizes, but they were massive so we had leftovers for days! We ordered steamed pork buns, orange chicken, crispy sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli, low mein, and Yangzhou Fried Rice. Everything was delicious and loaded with flavor. The standouts were the yangzhou fried rice which comes with shrimp, chicken, and vegetables. Loved all the meat here and big chunks of veggies. We all loved the orange chicken and the crispy fried pork especially. I tried to get my kids to sample the steam pork buns, but they wouldn't, which just meant more for me! Pillowy soft and full of tender BBQ pork, they were my fave. Truly a hidden gem right in the heart of Clovis!

The family dinner comes with a bowl of sizzling rice soup, An egg roll a pot sticker and foil wrapped chicken. My entree was crispy beef and my husband's entree was Kung pao chicken. Start off the soup was very flavorful, Definitely not your ordinary soup that you would find in the most places to start. The egg roll was a straight veggie roll but it was crispy and flavorful. The pot sticker was probably one of the best I've had in town, The wrapper was not too thick, Silky, Slightly crispy, And the filling was light and delicious not heavy. The Foil wrapped chicken Was different than any other place in that it was lighter and not overburdened with a salty sauce. As far as the entrees, My crispy beef was amazing, So crispy, With a delicious sauce. My husband's Kung pao chicken was so tasty, Everything was fresh and the chicken was not dry. The only downside to our entrees was that they were listed as spicy, But I think you have to ask for really spicy if you look like you can't handle it or something I don't know it just wasn't spicy at all. But we will definitely return and maybe ask for real spicy next time LOL.

As we started to dig in, realized what a blessing in disguise this was. We ordered orange chicken, chow mein, and a mushroom dish with a light sauce. Everything was incredible and the portions were huge. Normally, I'm not chow mein eater, but these noodles were fantastic. They were slightly al dente and tossed in a delicious sauce. Plus, I loved that all the veggies in here still had a crunch. Their orange chicken might be some of the best I've ever had. Instead of frying, they dredge the chicken in a tempura beer batter. Which offered an almost fluffy crunch paired with a light orange glaze. The owner came over and asked how our meal was and we couldn't stop raving. He gave us a few free cream cheese wontons, and once again, these were nothing short of amazing. The owner also stated he has plans to put in a huge glass case display for whole roasted duck and pork. I'll definitely be back to indulge in some of that!

There is finally a reasonably priced Chinese take-out option in town that I actually like. The Mongolian Beef featured tender, flavorful slices of meat paired with crisp, plentiful vegetables. The sauce complemented the dish rather than overwhelming it, and it was not overly greasy. The Garlic Chicken was also good, coated in a savory, slightly sweet soy glaze. The meat was soft and perfectly cooked, again accompanied by fresh, crunchy vegetables. Many of the dishes here are authentically Cantonese-style: savory, built around fresh ingredients, lightly sauced, and never excessively oily. Portions are generous as well. This stands in stark contrast to many other Chinese take-out spots I have tried, where the food leans salty, oversauced, and made with cheaper ingredients -- and becomes practically inedible once it cools down. Judging by the simple décor and limited seating, it is clear this restaurant prioritizes cooking over ambiance. Most customers opt for take-out, which likely helps keep prices affordable. Service is warm and efficient. You are greeted as soon as you walk in, and staff members are ready with ordering help and suggestions. Most lunch plates are $10.25 and come with steamed rice or chow mein, or pork fried rice for an additional $2. Lunch plates are offered daily from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, including weekends. The menu covers a broad range of Cantonese and Szechuan favorites -- Kung Pao Chicken, Walnut Shrimp, General Tao Chicken, Szechuan Beef, chow mein, chow fun, plus several soups and fried rice options. Combination plates start at $12.90, and the family specials (three dishes for $41) are a solid value. All in all, it is a great spot for anyone craving affordable, satisfying Chinese food -- especially students and anyone on a tight budget.
