Very very very disappointed! We used to love this restaurant. Was our go to Chinese restaurant. But the food tonight was terrible. The beef with broccoli literally tasted like nothing. The general tsos was mushy. The fried rice wasn't even fried rice. Very upset. Cost $40, for what?! Garbage. And what is this white stuff that was ontop of the beef with broccoli/rice? Not onion or chicken......very scary

When the husband and I didn't want to cook at home after a long day of errands, we stopped at the Great Wall. We were greeted and seated immediately when we walked in. The restaurant is small with booths and tables. The menu has the typical offerings. I chose Sesame chicken combo that includes egg roll and rice, but for an extra $1, I was able to get lo mein instead of rice. Szechwan shrimp was husband's pick. The food and service were fine.

We got a variety of foods to go and every single one of them was very sub par compared to what I am used to from other places.

During Lent they are offering a special, Seafood Lasagna. OMG! My husband saw it advertised on…read moreFacebook and decided we should go try it. He called for a reservation for Saturday night and they could only squeeze us in at 5:00 because they were totally booked! After eating it, I have to say that this was possibly the BEST restaurant meal I've had in recent memory, if not ever! Creamy sauce filled with crab, bay scallops and langoustines nestled between tender lasagna noodles (I'm pretty sure they were homemade). Topped with large shrimp and sea scallops, seared to perfection and set in a gratin dish which is more than an ample serving. It is served with a generous portion of their Caesar salad. We were pleasantly sated but could not resist ordering dessert to top it all off. Their Creme Brûlée is espresso flavored and delightful. And the bourbon pecan tart was simply divine. The owners wait on you and you can tell them how much you love the food, they're always appreciative to hear our comments. The restaurant itself is lovely. Tastefully decorated. You might feel that you are in New York or some other big city upscale restaurant but you are in little old downtown Latrobe! My favorite restaurant for sure!

I like to think myself as a conisour as far as onion soup and this ranks top 5 easily. I ordered an entree of the pistachio crusted lamb kabobs for myself and steak frites for my wife. Both were delicious and perfect! Nancy and Chef Adam were so friendly and helpful. They both made sure everything was perfect! We finished with the Banana Split which is a bananas foster stuffed crepe served with homemade ice creams. We suggest skipping lunch so you have room to share this!! Also it's BYOB if you're inclined to have a glass of wine with your meal!

Since we were back in the area visiting our aunt, we decided to stop by again. My husband and I ordered the schnitzel again but unfortunately, it was much saltier than we remembered and it was a bit too salty for our taste. I ended up eating only about a quarter of it. The appetizer we ordered was good though and our server was nice and friendly. Overall, the experience was okay but the main dish didn't quite live up to our last visit.

Kara was able to give us everything we asked for as we planned our dinner party celebrating my husband's 75th birthday. Every detail was executed perfectly. Delicious appetizers and top quality scallops and filets for the main course. All our guests said it was "over the top"! We even had a palate cleansing sorbet between the soup/ salad course and main entree. And to top it all off "Irma Cake" for dessert. If you've never tried these cakes, you are missing something wonderful. Carrot cake, coconut cake and red velvet were all delicious!. Our servers were very good and they provided us with a private space in the main dining room with a partition. So even though the restaurant was packed, we had our own private space for our dinner party.

My update isn't as much about the food, but the level of customer service. I regularly volunteer at…read morethe farmer's market, so I see many of the same people on a weekly basis. Like life, you encounter people of every description and quality. I posted my first review about this vendor at the market last year. During this new season, I was stopped as I was going past by the same woman I had encountered during my 1st visit. If you'd think her attitude had changed, I can assure you that it had not. She immediately attacked me about the review I had left. At no time did she offer to make anything right. Once again, she bragged about how great her products are and that she sells thousands. In addition, she made a concerted effort to make me feel guilty about my review. She asked how I felt about leaving a poor review of a family business. Well, I can assure you that I feel just fine. I believe my reviews are honest and assess my opinions of the products and level of service. She yelled at me that I should have brought the jars back. At that point, I didn't remember if I did or didn't return the bad product. I stated that I thought I had, but she yelled at me that I never returned them. At no time did she ask me any questions or offer any solutions. I was in the business of customer service for many years. I have never fixed the blame. I always strived to fix the problem. She may well do very well at her stand, but there is always room for improvement. From her attitude, everything is perfect in her own world and pleasing customers is the furthest thing from her mind. I have never once seen her stand jammed with an overabundance of customers, as I have seen at many other stands. I don't see it as a product issue, since there are people willing to pay a price for small jars of relishes and jams. I see this as an attitude issue. The woman is not friendly and I don't get a good feeling dealing with her. I don't believe that being combative solves any issues.

Although I have not been at their physical storefront location I've met with "the pickled chef" on…read morea number of occasions during my recent farmer's markets visit. I had purchased three of their popular items, apple bourbon maple jam, raw fermented ginger beet kraut, and pickled red beets. These items have been outstanding. The jam as described has real apple chunks in it and when spread on bread it tastes like an apple pie. Made with quality ingredients including the maple syrup from Paul's family farm it is worth the investment. The kraut is red pink due to the beets but you can taste the pickle in it. It makes a great side dish and will keep in the fridge for some time. My understanding is that it is one of their more popular items. With the markets winding down for the season you can still shop for their products on their website or you can purchase their products at East End food coop or Shenot's farm and market in Wexford. It is my hope to visit their Latrobe brick and mortal location when I'm in the area to stock up on more of their "farm to jar" as they call it products. Even if you are looking for pickles you won't be disappointed.
