Great Wolf is a treasure. I read nearly every negative review here on Yelp and was very concerned that we had made a terrible mistake booking here. Long story short, we loved our stay! First off is the rooms. We found ours to be satisfactory. I'd say Best Western quality and cleanliness. Plenty of towels, the basic toiletries and clean linens. Our mattress protector had a few small holes on the sides but nothing that made us question if where we were sleeping was unhygienic. And no, no one got bed bugs. The fireplace with timer in the Kid's Cabin room is a nice touch and was a relaxing way to fall asleep at the end of a fun filled day. The tvs also have a fireplace channel that we would put on in the kid's bunks at night. If I had ANY suggestion, DO NOT let them put you in a room that is near 2000. There is a one at a time MagicQuest room in this area of the hallway and standing in the line of 30ish children right outside of someone's hotel door made me feel terrible for the occupants. I would guess that 2020 and beyond is probably quiet. Another thing about the rooms, don't pay full price! They are not worth the $450+ when you factor in all the other costs. And the costs are high! They run deals all the time for a reason! We were lucky enough to book with 40% off. The waterpark is designed for kids and it delivers perfectly. I don't think any of the pools go past 5ft so if you are looking for big thrills and diving boards, look elsewhere. As parents of kids that are 11, 7 and 2, this was not only perfect, but appreciated. MagicQuest was super fun (though a bit confusing in the beginning) and kept the kids entertained over the 5 days we were there. My kids loved the challenges and can't wait to go back for ShadowQuest and CompassQuest. The food is passable. It is overpriced for what it is but this is basically Vegas for children so what do you expect? The Lodge is the only real sit down, restaurant type ambiance and the food is good but the menu is fairly small. Hungry as a Wolf says they provide room service but were not doing that during our stay. That said, they are the best deal in the hotel with their family meal of a large pizza, wings or breadsticks, a family salad and a 2 liter for $40. The pizza is actually quite good. Buckets is inside the water park and was my favorite. Basically bar style food and everything was good. The buffet is really nice for variety during breakfast and dinner but again, overpriced. Also, what breakfast buffet doesn't have toast?! It also doesn't include ANY drinks in the price so make your coffee in the room and take it down with you. The candy shop is meh, the sweets shop is nice for ice cream and Dippin Dots as well as having pre-made salads and sandwiches. The Build a Bear is even more expensive than usual but hey, it's vacation. Glow golf was fun but probably only about 7-8 holes. Again, it's the experience. We loved the Moonstone mine. It is a short mirror maze but so fun and then we were able to sift for gems which was very exciting. The ropes course is great for kids that are more towards pre-teen or teenager ages but there is also a smaller course for younger kids that may not be ready for such high structures. The gift shop was also a lot of fun for my kids and not fun on the wallet. Oh and the arcade! My daughter hit a jackpot right away so we were all happy! We didn't make it to most of the lobby events but storytime was a nice way to wind down before amping back up for the dance party lol! Yes, the super creepy kid in the tree is still there but now his neck is broken and his head dangles. We couldn't quite decide but are leaning towards this being an improvement. The fact that he helps sing the "there is nothing to be scared of" song is incredibly ironic. One of the best things about our stay was the amazing staff throughout! Everyone is so SO nice and helpful and really seems to love their job. When a child in our party accidentally broke her MagicQuest wand, a staff member noticed her crying, took one look at her wand, and stopped to comfort her and let her know that the Master Magi in the shop would make sure she was taken care of. When we went back to the shop, the Magi immediately replaced the broken topper with a new one, no questions asked. This place truly has a wonderful group of people working there. I cannot stress this enough, it is Vegas for kids and it is priced accordingly. Save money where you can. Get the deal on the room, buy the dining credits, get the Wolf passes, bring in whatever food and alcohol you can. Btw this place is very booze friendly. Walking the halls and shops with a Long Island at 8 am, whether purchased or made in your room, is totally acceptable. Don't expect 5 star rooms or 5 star dining as again, this is a kid's resort. Let me start by saying that I have been going to the Great Wolf Lodge religiously every year for the past nine years and I have to admit that I was UTTERLY DISGUSTED WITH OUR ROOM when I went this year......in addition to other issues with the park. Their cleanliness has seriously gone downhill, and when you pay $300+ for a room you would expect for it to at least be clean . I tried to work this out with the front desk and my concerns fell on deaf ears. I even tried calling the customer relations manager several times before writing this review, and never received a callback . We found fake eyelashes on the counter, we found bits of candy underneath the bedskirt, the table was sticky, the carpets were stained and smelled bad, it was just disgusting, and I have pictures to prove every bit of it . I just wish that they would have done something about it, we are all very disappointed and I do not believe that my family and I will be returning in the future unless they fix this issue by finally doing their part and contacting me. I would NOT recommend The Great Eolf Lodge to anyone unless they address their cleanliness issues. Also, it is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE to eat there, and the crane games in the fun center are rigged, the claws do not even close. I had left numerous messages for the customer relations team, asking them to contact me. I even left messages for the management there as well. As 42 year old taking my son for his birthday 8 year old and spoiling him with the upgrade of a Wolf Den...thought this would be a fun relaxing getaway. To start it off I watched multiple men stand in line to buy a drink and not one carded before or after me. I needed to go back to my room for and ID, though this lady words should have made me feel young, the sheer inconvenience of hiking back to the room was crazy. Additionally several other women my age told me they had never been carded. Talked to management...sorry didn't do anything. If they can charge my room with my wrist pass they should use it to card! Last time I was card at a restaurant or store was 8 years ago. Please I definitely past that young look years ago. I am dumping tons of money at this hotel room wasn't clean all the way...and the birthday celebration let's just say nothing is what we had paid for! I was able to book our most recent visit June 1st for $220 all together and that covered the room for 7-8 people and our waterpark wrist bands on 6/1-6/2. Money well spent. As an adult, it gets a bit boring and I ended up sitting it out and just watching my children and grandson enjoy themselves all day. We went for the first time since they first opened. I only went because my friend asked for my daughter and I to join them in a themed room with the bunks. The first time was much better as the building was new. They had more to offer as an experience that was included in the original price. Since then the building seems grungier and kind of just gross. The staff wasn't that helpful, the wave machine didnt work for the last half of the day. They nickle and dime you for everything. The pool closes at 8pm and doesn't open until 10am(?) So spending one night doesn't seem worth it. read more

We had a nice weekend here at the beginning of September 2022, I have been wanting to take my toddler here for awhile but I refuse to pay $500 a night. They were having a sale on their website, possibly because school just started. Check in is at 4pm but you can use the waterpark at 1pm day of, we did the online check in a day early and to a nice surprise our room was ready at 1pm when we arrived. Our room was clean, had 2 beds, a sofa, a fridge, and a microwave. The lodge is well staffed and the waterpark area has numerous slides, a wave pool and a hot tub. For our two day stay we did not leave the lodge since they have dining options onsite not to mention a Starbucks because you will need it. Keep your eyes peeled for deals to come here, it is a great place to take the kids! read more

This place used to be a no-brainer for an expensive, but fun, children's vacation. It's really gone downhill over the years. We were there for Thanksgiving break, for the third year in a row -- and the quality of the place has PLUMMETED year-over-year. First, the place is clearly ignoring important maintenance. Most of the elevators were broken the entire time we were there, making checking in and out a hassle, and making going to and from the water park a hassle too. The animatronic robot story in the lobby clock-tower has always been a little creepy for adults, but it's now terrifying for children because the little kid is falling apart. Kids watching the show literally gasped and said "that's not right". The wave pool -- centerpiece of the water park -- broke on the second day we were there, and didn't work for the remainder of the four-day trip. They used to have a ton of towels for convenience in the water park -- now you have to check out towels at entry, and check them in when you leave the park, or they charge you a fee. That means there's a HUGE line both when the park opens and when it closes, and it takes up a limited space winding all the way down a big staircase. You cannot reach customer service at the hotel directly. Some highpoints: the staff are still friendly and helpful; the Thanksgiving buffet is very high-quality. But given how expensive the place is, we're done going there. It went from being a premium experience to being kind of gross and run-down. read more

Yet it's 4:20 PM and we still cannot check in because the room is not ready. No ETA. No other answers but "we'll text you when the room is ready." Could not even tell me what the status of the room is, whether it's being worked on, will be work on. In addition, they almost overcharged me for my stay at checking-in. I am very unsatisfied with how long it took room service to fix this and the fact that it was here in the first place is unacceptable. I am emotionally damaged from this experience and freaked the fuck out. I am 15 years old and already have enough to worry about with winter finals then with this shit. While my kids loved the great wolf lodge and all the activities. The service is horrible and unless you want them to charge you an extra $500 and refuse to pay it back, then do not stay here. My wife and I took our kids to GWL earlier this month and they had a good time, when we left they merely sent us an itemized list of our charges. When we booked our trip in June we had prepaid nearly $500 in wolf passes and dining packages, and when we checked out they charged us for the wolf passes and dining package again. I contacted the Great Wolf Lodge 9 separate times where they would merely transfer me to a number that would disconnect on me, or if they did answer they would say they could not see that I pre-paid the wolf passes and Dining package. I sent them a copy of my bank statement showing the pre-paid charge from June however that did not get us anywhere. After the 9 attempts to get our double charged returned, we had to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau and were told we could also seek assistance through Visa. We called Visa and they said they would have the nearly $500 back in our account within 5-7 days. It's pathetic that Great Wolf Lodge would not do give back the money they double charged us and we had to resort to the BBB and their recommendation of reaching out to Visa. Highly recommend booking trips with a Visa card as they are super helpful and will get your money back when companies will not give it. read more

We arriving early on a Saturday when occupancy was at full capacity the desk clerk said our room was ready and we could check our in several hours early! Good news there. We immediately went to the water park and were happy to find that my party of four all got lounge seats. And the water park itself was pretty good. The Howlin Tornado is definitely my favorite water slide in the entire park, if not the entire world. Plunging 20ft straight down into the largest water tube on earth, that throws you from crest to crest is like riding a huge Xgames snowboard tube. It the most frickin fun in the whole park, hands down. Here's the bad news. The rest of the hotel park is built on money-grabbing gimmicky crap that makes Chucky Cheese's look like a high end Children's museum. Straight up, the Magic Quest completely and totally sucked! Don't do this "attraction event" the wands didn't work as they should and the MQ kiosk screens were broke. My kids were swearing....And..And.. the arcade was insane!!! Kids grabbing at machines! The ticket counters were all broke and the line to redeem for crap toys went into the hallway. Being on the second floor on a Saturday night was like a combination Early Harry Potter movie meets half naked Walmart Zombies (coming from the water park) combined with cheap horror film featuring 100's of mindless and psychotic money grabbing rude and half masked entitled and "crazy" kids. The service from 90% of the staff was atrocious. They either had a look of fear like "What the frick are your going to ask me?!?!? Or, no response "just please let me get my shift over with" dazed and unresponsive look. That was the most disappointing part of our two day trip. We paid close to 1k for 4 people and our take away is this Waterpark = 4, overall experience = 1.5. This not something you need or want to do twice in a lifetime. Be aware. read more

Great visit for my 10 year olds birthday. The direct help from restaurant staff Jamie and Robert yesterday was very friendly and helpful. We were a large group. Overall stay was welcoming. Something's that we're disappointing was the renovations happening, this is the 4th time we've visited and i understand renovations take time but it was hard to relax outside of our hotel room. The lobby was filled with arcade games and they took out a ton of seating that used to be there. Being pregnant, it was hard to stay out after the water park closed because there was no where to sit. And my suite seemed different as last time, when we had a separate king size room from the kids it had a full big bath tub but now it's only a shower and my kids had a smaller bath in theirs. Maybe we got the wrong one when we booked but it was the same king bed in one room and two queens in the main part. The older kids also mentioned they liked the older wand game because the new one seemed like it geared toward little kids and there used to be multiple game options. My 10 year still had fun but thinking this maybe the last year for my 14 year old. Will be back for 10 year old and baby. Hoping for a better experience like before :) read more

We stayed here for two nights as part of a family vacation. I'll start my review by saying that as is the case with most theme parks, amusements parks, etc. there is a real dichotomy between the experience of adults and kids. In our case all the concerns we have are with our experience as adults paying a premium for marginal quality and poor service. Our kids on the other hand loved the experience. The good: Large, spacious rooms (bathrooms excepted) with sturdy furniture. Water park features kept kids entertained for hours. On-premise kids activities like sifting for gemstones and miniature golf Room charge and access control via wrist band The bad: Used pre-check in w/4pm arrival. Arrived at 4:30pm to a packed lobby. Got our room at 6pm... Friendly staff are the exception. Water park burns your eyes... badly. And that is NOT normal (look up pools and chloramines). Elevators were so backed up they had to assign life guards to manage them. The arcade uses unusual exchange rates and token requirements for games - in summary: everything is VERY expensive. read more

Stayed 10.20-10.22 This was my very very very first time i got to go to Great Wolf Lodge. We got the the "Wolf Passes" so i felt like i was VIP everywhere I went. I had so much fun! We went to Build-A-Bear when we first got there and I built Wiley the Wolf. I got to do the magic quest and got to get an upgraded wand and special light up dragon wand topper. I got to have Ice cream and choose any candy with my pass too. My favorite part about GWL was the water park! I LOVED THE WAVE POOL! i don't just stand there, i like to JUMP THE WAVES because i'm not scared and it's so fun. i got to ho down water slides too. I liked the "Cannon Run" because it was really fun but it was a little boring because it wasn't scary, but Toya liked it so i will go on it again. The "Howling Tornado" was terrifying, i would probably not go on it again. i felt like i wanted to barf. I kind of liked the basketball area. I liked the café "Buckets" there too. I liked that we went there during "HOWL-O-WEEN" because we got to do a lot of fun things. They had a special trick-or-treat scavenger hunt that we dressed dressed up in our costumes for and you had to unscramble the words and get candy at the end. Im the best at word scrambles and did them super dast like the flash and non of them stumped me. There was a spooky story time, and a really fun dance party, and they gave you crafts to take home. We stayed at the Grand Mound location this past Monday, to celebrate my husband's birthday - it falls on Halloween. The crowds weren't bad, which was nice. We checked in early and were allowed to go into the waterpark early. While at the park we found a small turd floating along in the wave pool. We notified staff, but nothing happened. Barf. Our room was ready early - great, but we didn't notice the text as we were swimming. The room was absolutely filthy. Dust, dirt, and food crumbs on floor. For a parent of a child with severe food allergies I was devastated. In the kids bunk beds there were chips, melted chocolate, stains, candy wrappers, hairs, and a wire of some sort! These clearly had not been changed. Then there were the boogers - yes boogers - rubbed on the wall of the bathroom. This is not the place for me. I notified staff and was told that they would bring up clean bedding and towels. We enjoyed the rest of our evening, assuming we would come back to a clean room. Nope. A pile of sheets was messily placed on top of our dirty bed and no clean towels. So here I am sitting in an uncomfortable, dirty bed - since they didn't actually bring up enough sheets for all the beds; wondering if the towels I let my children dry their hands with had any of their allergen on them. I gave them extra allergy medicine, just incase. My kids, oblivious to all, had the time of their lives here. The only sad moment was when the "nut free" Halloween candy actually was processed in the same facility as nuts. The only employee who seemed to fully understand the severity of food allergies was the person working in the candy shop. They were beyond helpful, brought out a binder with ingredients, and ultimately helped us decide that they don't update their paperwork often enough to trust the labeling paperwork they had. Also the hot water was burning in the sink, cold in the shower, and the pressure was bleh. In conclusion, I'd never stay here again. read more

I'm not quite sure why Great Wolf Lodge has such mediocre reviews in WA after staying here with our kids. Overall we had a great time with our party of 8 that consisted of 4 Adults and 4 kids ranging from 2.5yrs to 16yrs old. If you are looking for a family outing it's a great option. We arrived early for checkin at about 11AM, and were informed via email the night before that an early checkin wouldn't be available. When we arrived the resort staff were helpful and accommodating. They provided us with wristbands and access to the water park while we waited for our two rooms. The water park was a huge hit with the kids, especially for the younger ones. The adult slides were also a blast and we didn't wait that long to do anything. The rooms were spacious and clean enough. We had two suites that could have easily slept 6-8 people. There were little feet going up/down the hallway but it's sort of to be expected at a resort that caters to children like GW does. There were a ton of free activities and shows for the kids. The arcade was really fun and it was easy to win big on tickets. It's not Disney, but as someone who's stayed at the Grand Californian within the last mont I think it's safe to say the value is better at Great Wolf lodge. Our entire trip was a fraction of the price we paid for Disney and the kids (who are on the younger side) really loved it. Minus one star for the late checkout fee of $69 despite checking out at 10AM. Will see if they reverse the charge after I pointed out our checkout time. Also, there were semi trucks engine breaking late at night which was a bit loud out our room, but it's not something the resort has control over. Overall, -A experience! Ugh... You know, when you pay so much for one night- you really hope to have a great experience. First, let me start by saying- there were a lot of reviews stating that the hotel was dirty. I didn't find that to be the case at all, it's a family hotel and there are gonna be some stains from kids. That's just part of the gig, but you know what/ doesn't mean that stain is gonna always be there. The water park was great for the kids! My grams even had a good time in the wave pool and that alone was the only reason I have it two stars. I am generally pretty generous with reviews as I give a lot of them. I try to be really understanding, just to many things went wrong during our ONE night. Our room as an example had torn wallpaper and dirty sheets. I could have passed them off as a stain maybe if there wasn't also hair in my bed... gag. There was also a used cup on the window behind the curtain, so it's obvious that wasn't touched. When you pay huge amounts of cash for a family room- you just expect the little things, ya know? The buffet was an awful experience. We paid 140.00 bucks for dinner, fine/ that's expected at a hotel restaurant for 6 adults and a kid- but the prices on their app and what we were charged were wrong. When I asked for a discount to the correct advertised price- the cashier said " yea I'm sorry the online is the last to get updated" considering they promote the app so much, you'd think they would have that corrected before making changes. We practically paid for another entire adult- which really sucks. At a customer service level, this is no acceptable at all. While it was only 15 bucks- it's the principle of the matter. My husband misplaced a very very special necklace at the pool and was just beside himself. He called down to the front desk and asked if someone had turned in a black necklace and right away said no. Not "one second let me go check" or hold on and I'll check that. It was an immediate NO. Seeming a little odd that she answered that way, my husband walked all the way down to the hotel lobby desk as soon as he got off the phone and asked again, and sure enough his necklace had been there for a few hours. Had he not gone down he would have lost something so special. While it was our fault it was misplaced (we had to carry everything because our room was also not ready on time and we had a late check in) it fell out of my purse. The common Curtesy was just awful. I mean seriously. We already had a second trip booked here for August and we be canceling our room. That room was booked for two nights. While I'm only one person and they will likely make up my room with someone else, it's really sad that a family driven hotel experience makes families feel extremely read more

Took my grandkids last year and it is not cheap but they had a lot of fun. This year went once again and still was pricey however had good service, great room, and we spent a night as we did the year before. Here's the rub. When you buy food there now, as I did at Fatburger they have a cup with a QR code you scan to activate the self service fountain. You have around 20 seconds to choose your drink, add ice and fill your cup. After that time the fountain will no longer operate. I quickly realized you receive no refills however you also can't let the foam settle, or if you are a kid , are not allowed time to mix flavors (as kids do). What moron thought this new way to steal fun and gouge an already overpriced meal. Another reason to bring in your own food as customers are not respected or valued. read more

I am furious beyond words. I was just informed my credit ($330+) was lost because i booked my last reservation online as opposed to calling in. I had a credit from a previously cancelled trip. I was given twelve months to use this credit. (Expired in Jan 2023) In July of 2022, I forgot about the credit and ended up booking a suite and paid for it directly. This was significantly more money than the credit. I asked to apply the credit after the fact. They denied my request. I asked to cancel the suite and book it again with the credit and i would pay the difference, and i was denied again. The rate for the suite had gone up so I would not get the same deal. I opted to keep the existing reservation and figured I would book again in the near future. I had lost track of time and missed my deadline. I accept my fault in this. I owned this. However, i have a history of bringing my immediate and extended family to GWL and I asked for some forgiveness and allow me to use the credit. Keep in mind, this is money I paid. This was not awarded to me. After speaking to the rep and a supervisor, i was denied. I was told the decision would remain regardless of who i spoke to. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with GWL in Grand Mound, WA and this will be the story I tell going forward. read more

Dirty, the WHOLE water park is like this at Grand Mound/Centralia, Great Wolf Lodge in Washington. I watched a life guard squeegee the floor and getting the black-brown water into the drains. The floors in some areas of the water park felt slimy... This place needs to be shut down, drained, power washed, repainted, and BLEACHED! And walking around the hotel the carpets were dirty, go into the elevators and they smelled like dirty laundry...carpets smelled like they need to be cleaned or replaced. read more

We visited great wolf lodge as a family of 5 the staff was so friendly and the common areas were very clean. The park has stuff for every age range. The gift shops and arcade had so many things. But my complaints start with my room was dirty there was long hair attached to the soap and on the counters the walls all had lots of dark dirty spots. When we arrived our safe wasn't working the battery area on the back was uncovered and two batteries were slinging around maintenance came and added two more batteries that fell out . The mini fridge looked like it had seen better days it smelled awful. later after complaining again maintenance came and covered the hold with electrical tape. I couldn't find whole milk here and I have toddlers so I needed it. I left to get milk when I came back my wrist band didn't work I was locked out building. Someone let me in and I was still locked out of my room which was on the opposite side of the building with bags of heavy groceries I had to go to the front desk to get this fixed. With three little kids baby and toddlers it's extremely difficult to have to walk to front desk from the opposite side of great wolf lodge multiple times in order for them to fix issues. There's no numbers in the room to reach the front desk. We had a lot Of fun during our visit but I was very disappointed by our room conditions and the issues with our wrist bands. If we were closer to the front desk it wouldn't have felt so difficult to constantly run up There to get issues fixed. We went there for a last minute retreat to take the grandkids for a trip before going back to school. Pros - great place for smaller children. Our grandkids are 6, 8, and 12. The 6 and 8 year olds had a good time. They were able to go on the slides they wanted to. They really enjoyed the wave pool. There are restraints on-site, so no reason to leave the property for food. Also there is a Starbucks onsite. The slides are fun, but short. There are a lot of activities for the kids. If you have children definitely spring for one of the passes. Cons - it is expensive. On-site restaurants are pricy. We went to a sir down meal, hamburger was $18, steak was $28 (I think). Kids meals were $9.99. Breakfast buffet is good, but $25 for adults and $13 for kids 12 and under. Hot tub was full of parents and kids. I was going to soak, I did not enter it. Bunch of really young kids and parents. I figured it would be like sitting is a latrine. The lines for the rides were long for how short the slides are. If you can afford it, get a cabana, it is worth the money. You have a spot to put your things and sit. You can kick Babcock and order lunch or a snack and rest. Starbucks was busy in the am. Staff had it together, but people letting their kids order really slowed it down. First morning, a guy let his two kids order, the next line over cleared four people . Second day a woman let her daughter order, again three people checked out before they finished. So if you are going to order know what you want. It may be cute for you to let your kids order, but there are others in line who just want their coffee!!!! The bed in our room was very hard, the wife and I did not sleep well at all. Would I go back? That is a good question. For us, probably not. I would probably go to a water park instead. read more

I am giving Great Wolf Lodge, Washington 5 stars. Why? Because if you KNOW what you're going into, and you expect an expensive family getaway..then you will enjoy yourself for what it is. To preface this, I consider my family to do pretty well and we love to enjoy nice vacations..here I had to question even booking this trip because I found it to be pretty astronomical in price, so I completely understand the annoyance of that right out the gate. Here's what I did to keep costs down $$$: My son had been begging to go here as he had never gone, but kept watching videos on youtube (their marketing to kids through this channel is clearly paying off greatly..pun intended). I found that Fridays save you quite a bit vs Saturdays, so if you're okay with only one night (it's plenty), this is the way to save some money. I was lucky I could take Friday off work to maximize our hours here for two full days activities. You'll hear about "deals" on their site or groupon, but the dates are super limited & almost always only for weekday Mon-Thurs. I purchased two wolf passes ($100 each) and a birthday package ($90) to ensure we stuck to already paid for & planned activities, and the kids got to do EVERYthing available. I highly recommend the birthday package because it comes with: [1] large pizza and 2 liter soda (which we saw valued around $30), a birthday cake, balloons & plates/cups & door sign, and a $40 arcade card. For example, we kept to the pizza & 2 liter for dinner which was a cheap meal option, and we stuck to the $40 game card and didn't add any additional food or arcade credits. It can be hard to limit yourself (and your kids asking for more) BUT if you do, you'll find that you'll save $$ compared to the other options placed before you while you're there. I feel this same way about the activity passes. There are "upgrades" presented to you for each activity..and while it may seem like a harmless $5 upgrade here and there..it will really add up quickly. Say no, and keep to your already planned and purchased items. Your kids don't need $18 wand toppers, $40 build a bear outfits, or $3 candy cup upgrades. Those aren't the memories that stick, so don't feel pressured or guilty. You're already amazing!! Look at where you took your kids :) To save even more money, we opted for the $18 nacho box by the pool for lunch both days. They're delicious & large enough for a family of four to share. For comparison, individual meals for adults and kids range starting from $10-$16 each. With drinks, you could easily spend $100+ on a quick lunch of frozen chicken tenders and burgers. Stick to the shareable option for lunch, and count on your pizza & soda for dinner. These two meals (even if you didn't get the birthday package) could keep you under $50 for both meals! Now for the hotel review: We arrived around 11am the first day of check in and I had zero expectation of having our room ready, as check in time is always 4pm at any hotel, let alone a very busy family resort. I checked in to just complete the process and at least get our activity passes for the day. I was SHOCKED when she told me our room was ready & got us all checked in and ready to go. That was such an invaluable perk, and it immediately set a great tone for our stay. The room was already outfitted with my son's birthday surprises from the banner on the door to the balloons & cake, etc. in the room! It was all prepared for us, and felt so special. All of the staff we encountered here was GREAT. Very nice, helpful, attentive, and fun. Even walking to your room, housekeeping would share a friendly hello, have a great day, enjoy your time, etc. It's nice to feel a friendly environment in an especially busy place that can get hectic and overwhelming at times for guests, and I can only imagine even more so for staff. The daily crafts, shows, dance party, etc. are fantastic and again, staff is great! The room was perfectly clean and comfortable, and had a nice amount of space for our family of four. Of course kids love the themed cove with bunk beds. The waterpark, arcade, etc. was all well kept too. You'll get tired of the waterpark pretty easily if you're like us, because the air inside is SO humid, warm, and full of an obnoxious amount of chlorine. To the point it burns your eyes and feels heavy and hot to breathe. At least you know the water is clean being shared with all those bodies, but keep this in mind to plan out your activities. Cons: I love a cabana..and even at the nicest resorts I'm used to $200-$400. Here, they're $500-$800. That's insane to me. The giftshop was also insanely priced. We didn't spend anytime shopping because of this. I'm sure they do just fine, but it surprises me they sell anything at those prices. They take advantage of your desire to give your kids a good day. $500 for 3 swim passes plus a couple wolf passes, then still have to pay for parking? Reality is they have excellent social media influencers ergo the kids want to come here. Why you may purchase a package expect to pay on activities you just purchased. Everything has an additional price. Further, expect to pay $100 for a basic lunch, even the soft drinks syrups are tuned down. I'd expect to pay for good quality, not to be nickel and dimed. read more

I hate to leave a bad review but check in was not a good process. We were charged a late fee for check out but had everything out of the room before 11AM. The rooms were hot! You can hear EVERYTHING! And last but definitely not least... BED BUGS. We stayed in room 2008, so be careful if you are using that room or any around it. I was eaten alive right when I laid in bed. My ankles and arms have tons of little bed bug bites all over them. It wasn't just me either, every member of my family was bit. Slept terrible. Just a really unfortunate experience. The facility is really cool though. Loved how many things there were to do. It was really fun. But they definitely need to do some pest control and a bug bomb. read more

First visit to GWL and went to celebrate our daughter's 4th birthday. We met friends, also there to celebrate their son's 5th birthday. We went in with an open mind, not sure what to expect, and this was our first impression break down: Carts: WIN Very relieved to find these handy little carts waiting at front door, especially when you have a 5 yr old and soon-to-be 4 yr old on your own. Check-In: FAIL We arrived on a Monday around 1.30pm and the wait was long. Like Wal-Mart, there were many desks, but only a few people working them. Mobile check-in line was short, so I used this method thinking it would be faster, Ooops - that was a mistake. Unbeknownst to me, when you use mobile check-in, you are assigned the first room available, which is great had we not been trying to align ourselves on the same floor as friends. Person working reception, David, was visibly irritated when we asked to switch rooms and let out a loud frustrated sigh. We told reception it was our daughter's birthday and we were given headbands with wolf ears. Those behind the counter did a group wolf howl in honor of my daughter's birthday and went on about their job, no smiles, no congratulations - it all felt very disingenuous. No one at reception looked happy. David finally secured a room for us on the same floor as our friends and told us we would receive a text when it was ready, in the meantime we held our items to our friends room, only to discover never received our Wolf Passes we pre-purchased. So, back to reception I went to wait in line again. No apology was given. Wolf Pass: WIN For a newbie - this was helpful with activities we didn't know existed that included: - MagiQuest: Meh Give a stick to a 5 and 4-yr-old to wave around at treasure chests and hologram pictures, and it entertains them for a bit, but they have no concept how to play the game. - Arcade: WIN Receive 20 tokens to play games, but be prepared to spend much more. Kids love the items they get from the claw machines and spending $$$ accruing tickets to purchase items that are $1. - Golf: Meh Play a round of miniature golf in the dark in blacklight. You get golf ball at Arcade, play 8 holes and lose ball on last hole for $8 per child. Not worth it. - Mining: WIN Trip through a mirror mine maze, which takes 5 min. to do. Mining is $8 per bag a dirt to drop into a screen and sift through water. We didn't know what we were doing and staff didn't offer/ask if we needed help. Again, no one smiled. - Candy Shop: Meh A cup kids can fill with candy. Woman in shop had her head resting on her hand with a sour look on her face the whole time. She never smiled and rolled her eyes when my son spilled candy on an already VERY stick floor. - Ice Cream: WIN A free scope of ice cream. The staff was very sweet and happy. Who wouldn't be when you get to make people smile all day! Storytime: Meh Acoustics in the lodge area are SO loud it was very difficult to hear anything. My friend and I could hardly hear each other and we were sitting next to one another. Kids were running all over the place with glow sticks and bubble makers. Kids loved it. GWL may want to think about replacing the carpet as it is disgusting and little children are crawling all over it. Dance Party: WIN There's a nightly dance party at 8.15pm. Music is loud. Kids are running around. Great energy burn before bedtime. Room: OK Found a pacifier and stale half eaten cereal bar on the floor. Sink drain was SOO slow. Refrigerator and microwave were nice, as we prepared snacks/food easily. Bed was ok. Had a clothesline to hang wet swimsuits, dark out curtains were nice. Floor was pretty icky and when you have children who roll around playing on it, it makes you cringe. Water Park: WIN Children loved it. Kid's height is measured as you enter pool area to assess which areas they can/can't go with a green, yellow or red wrist band. Towel check is very convenient. Restrooms were clean. Even though it was a Monday, all chairs/lockers were taken. Eventually pushed someone's items over who were holding multiple chairs which were not being used. Beware water park floor is very slippery in many areas - our children slipped/fell multiple times over 3-days we were there. Directions are poor when it comes to where you can/can't get in or out in some areas (e.g.: Lilly pad/cargo net course). There is also a sign posted that children under 8 should not be in the hot tub, but this is clearly not enforced. Restaurants: FAIL Food is awful and hugely overpriced. Pizza place did the most business. Most items are fried, processed, bulk heat/serve items. Few healthy food choices. Net-Net: Kids were oblivious to what I saw and had a wonderful time. Had great family time and created wonderful memories, but many of the staff are not happy being there. Staff looked down right miserable, very few smiles and incredibly unprofessional. Best hotel of all time! The vibes here are immaculate, with a ton of games to choose from. There's bowling, a fun arcade, tons of food options, and even dance time for little ones. But the best part of the hotel by far is the water park. Although this installation of Great Wolf Lodge doesn't have as many water rides as other ones do, it still has a bucketload of great slides to choose from, from mild slides to crazy slides. This place is very overpriced for what you get. The indoor water park is only slightly more interesting than our community pool with water slides. The magi quest became a money trap after I thought I had bought and paid for one set. The food was really bad and overpriced as well. The only place that felt clean was our room. I booked 3 nights here during the week at $600/night in the grizzly bear suite. I have 5 kids, and am not bothered by that price at all, but I did expect some level of service to go along with it, which the staff fell way short on. We showed up at 515 pm expecting to be able to check into our room as check in time is at 4pm. Our room wasn't ready, I was a bit surprised, but the clerk did give me a $50 credit and told me it would be ready in 30 mins. (Lets glass over the fact that at $600/night, $50 barely covers the time I paid for to be in the room) I was told that I would receive a text when our room was ready, but we were welcome to go to the water park in the mean time (not dressed for it, as we had planned on being in the room). We head next door to a burger place to have dinner and wait for our text, and wait, and wait, and wait. At 645 pm I decide to come back over and see what is going on. The front desk clerk told me that we should have received a text as our room had BEEN ready, her emphasis. I stated that we had a contract to be in the room at 4, which they did not fulfill, and she told me that 4 was just when we could check in and they did not guarantee ANY time the rooms would be ready. I guess you could book a stay here, check in, and never actually see the inside of a room. Also, no housekeeping even for a 3 day stay. They don't tell you this, you have to read a little not they put on the mirror in the living room. This is probably my 6th visit to this property, and it will probably be my last. If it weren't for my kids looking forward to it, we'd have left after my experience at the front desk. read more

The place is ok! But not great. That's why I would not recommend it. First of all for the age of the building it looks bit up. The two stairs going down to the restrooms are really unsafe the yellow paint used on the edge of the steps makes it extremely slippery I fell in one of them almost broke my back. Prices are to high for the park half price will be fair for both, overall two stars is my score my first and my last , and they don't give you a wrist band to make sure you can consume alcohol so dumb and outdated!!! read more

Great up until the very end. My 4 yo, who knows how to swim, wanted to do one last slide. We waited in line to do a slide he had done 10 times before and the guard at the top made he re-measure and wouldn't let him ride over millimeters(he was measured and given a yellow band at the entrance). Literally the difference between dry and wet hair or crocs. Awful way to end our trip. We will be checking out Wings and Waves in McMinnville next time. read more
