My wife, myself, and my son (2 years old) went on a 1 night stay to Great Wolf Lodge. When we first got there, I was impressed that it was clean and fairly smooth getting checked in. The front desk staff were courteous and friendly. They had our room ready early and we were able to check in right away. We chose the "Kid Cabin" room so we had a separate place for our 2 year old. We also chose the patio/balcony option. Our balcony on the 2nd floor (main floor) had a wonderful view of the large industrial air conditioners and some gravel. Once we got in and ready, we headed to the water park. The water park appeared clean but was, unfortunately, small. I would equate this as a large hotel with a unique swimming area. The dining within the water park was "normal" in comparison to other lodges similar to this, with only 1 dining option "within the water area". There were towels provided and it was fairly easy to find a place to sit. The water park itself is very kid centric. For a 2 year old, there was a small area specific to 48 inches and under, but as expected, most of the park is for the "older" kids - 54 inches and up. The whole park itself looked like a large natatorium with some slides and a large play set in the middle. I can't say I was blown away by the experience. The lodge is themed well on the outside / most areas within, but the water park lacked the continued "great wolf lodge" theming with the exception of a few oddly placed totem poles. We moved on from the water park and decided to have dinner. The dining options are very limited with only 1 "sit down style" restaurant. There was an ice cream shoppe and what looked like a pizza parlor type restaurant. Definitely a place for improvement. The Gitchigoomie Grill (the sit down style restaurant) was the selection in hopes of having something other than pizza and pasta. That being said, the waiters were attentive (I assume because there were only 2 families in the entire restaurant). The food came out surprisingly fast....and tasted just fine. After that, it was time to head back to the room. On the way, we decided to stop at the "in lobby" Dunkin Donuts. I was fairly excited that it was there. Unfortunately, it was the same mediocre experience as the waterpark. They, for some random reason, don't take the Dunkin Donuts phone app as payment (lack of technology maybe?) and the coffee appeared to have been made by new trainees. Just not the experience I'm used to. Whether this is a problem for Great Wolf Lodge or Dunkin Donuts I don't know, but it's inside Great Wolf Lodge and I'd hope they had some standards as to what gets placed in their establishment and the products coming out of it. read more

The lodge grounds were well maintained but the temperature throughout the swimming area was very cold! A lot of guests were complaining about the temperature. The temp never got better. I highly recommend that you do NOT get a room on the first floor unless you like the sounds of little feet jumping over your head and parents yelling at their undisciplined kids! Also, don't get a room next to the swimming generator and trash bins. In the morning you could hear the garbage truck, kids overhead, and swimming generator/water circulation going. The children activities were well done and the staff was wonderful. A great place to visit but being patient as most parents do not teach their kids how to play nicely and the parents don't clean up after themselves at the swimming area tables. read more

My husband, 2 year old, and I stayed two nights mid week. Price was great for the room and experience. They are currently doing construction on the building outside and the balconies are all closed. Check in was fast and easy. Lobby and hallways were clean and appeared well maintained. Our room was very clean. I always check the mattress at any hotel I stay in to ensure no bedbugs and the mattress in our room looked immaculate and new. We didn't eat the hotel but walking by the food smelled good. The Waterpark was clean and my 2 year had lots of fun. I didnt use the bathroom in the Waterpark so I can't speak to its cleanliness. The lifeguards were alert and watching out. I was worried that the Waterpark would super hot and humid but was it very pleasant. There were only two minor things; the carpet in our room needs to be steam cleaned or replaced. There were no visible stains but my toddlers socks were black on the bottom from walking around the room and second, which is outside of the hotels control, the people on the floor above us were very, very loud. It sounded like suma wrestlers were having a smack down. I was worried my son wouldn't be able to sleep. We received a text notifying us of quiet hours. Idk if someone complained and they thought it was us or if it was a general automated text but the pounding from above had me worried someone would fall through the floor. Other than those two minor annoyances our stay was perfect. We will be back again! read more

We took the family for an after Christmas vacation and we were treated terribly by staff. In the water park two different lifeguards were extremely rude to us, to the point we decided to just go back to our room. We went to the arcade and when we purchased a card but one didn't come out, the staff member we found and asked for help behaved like it was an inconvenience to him that we didn't get our card. When we went to get ice cream, there were four of us, two kids and two adults. The worker took the kids orders and ignored the adults when we tried to order saying we had to pay for the first two. So we paid for the first two and tried to order ours again and again, were ignored and they just helped the people behind us. at this point we were ready to check out so I sent the others to the room and went to the front desk and stood in line for fifteen minutes while three staff members stood behind The desk talking and laughing, looked at me, but never acknowledged me. So I went back to the room and reached out to the chat customer service. They told me they could get us all ice cream because that staff member was rude but that was it. So now, fifteen days later I still don't have my deposit back that I was told I'd get after 3-5 days after check out. I'm now being told it's 7-10, but it's been 15 and the people I've reached over the phone have just transferred me around and told me I just have to wait, that they can't do anything. I wish I would've never wasted all that money. I will never return and just want to warn families that if one group ran into this many rude people, you probably will too if you go here. And they really don't care. Once you're there, they have your money and dont care to even give back deposits. read more

This will probably be the longest review I'll ever leave in my life but I was in disbelief for most of our one day/one night stay at GWL Sandusky. The phone customer service before the trip was fantastic. Upon accidentally arriving over 3 hours before check-in, they happily told me they had rooms already clean and it would be no problem to put us in one early rather than check just our luggage in. Which was GREAT because we would've had to dig for bathing suits and use the dressing rooms otherwise. The room was BEAUTIFUL and clean and welcoming, already one great improvement over Kalahari. The water park was fantastic and had something for everyone. I went with 3 kids ages 6-7. The staff were ALL friendly, patient, and very much on high alert for safety at all times. We worked our way up to the big slides and had an absolute blast. I can't count how many times we went down them but my legs are hurtin from the getting back up there for sure! The food place inside the water park, I assumed would be your typical mediocre food and service with high pricing but I was wrong! EXCELLENT service and the snacks stuff I got from there was delicious and very fair priced. We played for about 5 hours there and then got ready for some holiday festivities they had for the kids in the lobby- my girls LOVED the dance party and the Santa was super legit. All included with the room charge! I wanted to go outside of the lodge for dinner because I'm always leery of "resort food" but the kids didn't want to leave so we tried the Pizza Hut there. I am a good person and I'm not gonna lie, I was depressed about this prospect! I prepared myself to just pick at enough for sustenance at best BUT AGAIN, amazing staff and the food was wayyy better than I remember Pizza Hut being in my lifetime (it's been decades). We had a large pizza, 10 wings, and chicken Alfredo plus a 2 liter of pop for about $50. Every single thing was delicious and it was enough to make lunch out of the next day, too. Next we checked out the arcade- my least favorite part because money just goes so fast there and my kids are claw-machine obsessed which is just a bad business move for anyone. But the ducjoin bowling for $28 got everyone's spirits back in the right place before bed. We slept great on the first floor despite the occasional excited kiddo running up and down the hallway here and there. I will take them back as often as possible. I hope everyone we encountered there sees this and gets a pay raise- well done and thank you so much!!!! read more

We ordered a room through Groupon as a quick winter getaway. The lodge is beautiful inside. A large fireplace surrounded by comfy chairs is front and center in the lobby. Behind it is a display of the Great Clock Tower show which plays multiple times a day and is always heavily attended. The staff is very friendly at all times during the day. The room was nicely decorated and definitely had a cabin feel. There was a nice sized mini fridge, microwave, and a balcony. The bathroom was tiny but the room was made up for it. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived. The beds were very comfortable, though the pillows were a bit thin for my liking. The pool area is very nice for the kids. There isn't too much for the older kids or adults, except for 2 larger slides, an 'adults only' hot tub, and the lazy river, which is very shallow but relaxing. The large treehouse in the center is chock full of things to spin and jump on, while waiting for the huge bucket to fill and dump onto the floor below. Another HUGE thing to touch on- the lifeguards were very professional and present during every portion of the pool area. There were always more than enough lifeguards to keep watch on all the pool goers. The lifeguard staff at the front desk were very informative on which life jacket to choose for my 1 year old nephew, as well as what attractions were appropriate for him to enjoy. For dining, it features a Dunkin Donuts, a sit down restaurant (serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and a full bar), a concession stand within the pool area, a pizza/hoagie concession stand, and an ice cream stand. The Dunkin Donuts gets very busy mid-morning. The Italian hoagie at the pizza stand was pricey but absolutely delicious! The garlic bread at the pizza stand was nothing special. The MagiQuest game is definitely a little pricey but in my opinion it's totally worth it. Once you purchase a wand and access to the game, you can find treasure chests, talking pictures, and statues all around the lodge that will talk to you and give you coins. You can also perform Quests where you have to find 4-5 things in order to get a special power. It's also fun to check your name on the leaderboards on the TV in your room. All of us, even the adults, enjoyed completing the quests and waving our wands over the treasure chests. The arcade is very very fun! You purchase a card for $1 and load it with at least $10 and then you use the cards at the games. When you earn tickets, you take them to the ticket machine and load the tickets right on the card. The prizes are actually quite decent, and there's a large selection to choose from for the kids to enjoy. Although I will say that we didn't win a single thing from any of the claw machines, except for the mega claw machine, which ironically was the easiest to win. All the other claws were just too weak to hold onto the prizes- don't waste your time, just get a stuffed toy when redeeming your tickets at the end. The Cub Club was nice, but it was only open from 11am-2pm, which is unfortunate because my nephew would have enjoyed to color or play with toys early in the morning or later at night after his bath. The one major thing I would say the Lodge fell short of is there is really nothing to do from 5am-9am. My nephew slept a lot in the car on the way to the Lodge, so he was up early at 5:30 the next morning. In an effort to not wake the others in the room or our neighbors, we left the room in search of something to do. There was nothing to do other than walk around the quiet lobby or go to the arcade, but that's not something that we were too interested in because it's very loud in there and there's not many games for him at his age. I do think they need to have the Cub Club open, or a small indoor playground, or something of that nature to keep little ones occupied if they are up early. Same goes for mothers feeding their little ones at the crack of dawn if they don't want to do so in the dark hotel room while others are sleeping. Was here for the 4th of July, overall had a great time. Pro's - Room was very nice. We got the Wolf Den Suite and it was spacious and had a balcony. The bed said queen, but it seemed small for a queen. Had a couch, table, sink and coffee pot area. Clean, besides some small staining on the carpet which is expected considering it's a kids area. Staff - Friendly and didn't bother with us much.. which we enjoy. I don't need someone asking how I'm doing every 10 mins. I do have a con, but I will list later. Arcade - all games were up and running and very new. Clean. This will also be in the con section as well tho. Noise level - perfect. I didn't hear any loud obnoxious kids running around at all hours. The people above us made a little noise but again.. kids. Pool area - lots of clean towels. Lots of chairs, when we got here it was hard to find an open one but we eventually did. This morning there were tons of open availability. Cons - staff - I had forgetten to bring dish soap to wash my daughters bottles (we were only here for a night so it slipped my mind) we asked if they could spare a dollop of dish soap and we were told "go to Kroger". We asked the dunken donuts person if she had any and she brought us a cup of kind of soapy water? Okay, I guess that will do. Arcade - while nice and clean.. most of the games are $2 a pop. It's a bit pricy.. I can get $1.. but jeeze. That hurt the wallet a little bit. I probably would have spent another $20 (already had spent $40) but I didn't feel any sort of bang for my buck. Pool area - also in the cons. I wasn't impressed with the amount of attractions. My 5 year old was thrilled, but he thinks a card board box is cool. It was just .. slide, slide, log in the water, small slide. Nothing thrilling. My only other complaint which is no fault of GWL.. WATCH YOUR CHILDREN FOLKS. I can't tell you how many "tweens" were running around, bumping into me while running from one area to the next with an infant in my arms. Not saying don't have fun, but seriously .. watch them or teach them respect for other people. read more

Great Wolf is fun for kids under 12 or 13. I've been with my kids a few times and my 14 year old gets bored really quick but my 8 year old and her 6 year old cousin loves every second of it. When you make reservations don't forget about the $20 a day resort fee they add to your bill. Also, if you go during a busy time like Spring Break or a holiday, request the top floor. If you are on the lower levels you will hear a lot of thumping, bumping and everything in between because kids are running around playing MagicQuest. read more

My family and I made our first visit to Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky over New Year's weekend. We all absolutely loved the experience. The room rates are usually about $100 cheaper per night - but when school is not in session, the rates are at a premium. The waterpark is of course the main attraction and everything there is in great shape and very clean. You'll have lots to do just in the waterpark alone. If you get tired of that, the arcade is pretty nice too! We had dinner at the GWL restaurant - we'll skip that next time we visit. Everything was really expensive and the food was mediocre. The only upshot was that you get a free pair of wolf ears with each kids meal! This was to be expected at a destination resort type restaurant, so I won't hold that against my rating here! Our family of 4 each had a blast and we all can't wait to get back - next time, we'll plan ahead a little more to get a better rate! read more

Three words - So. Freaking. Cold. Granted, we were there when it was only about 10 degrees outside, but good lord, was it cold inside. They say the water is kept at 82 degrees and the indoor air temperature at 84 degrees, but there's no way it was that warm. The kids loved the slides and had a ton of fun, but we were all shivering throughout most of our trip. The kids didn't even want to stay longer than an hour or so on our second day even though we didn't have to leave for 4 more hours. The activities were fun, the room was what we expected, and the kids really enjoyed it. However, we were there for the waterslides and the cold temperatures just made it difficult to really enjoy the trip. read more

We had a great time at this resort for the weekend. There were many Internet advertised specials for this time, so for a very reasonable price, we were able to stay for multiple nights and play in the water park. We also bought the additional paw passes to include many other activities throughout our stay. We had a wide variety of ages in our group and they all had enough to keep them busy! The best part was the employees, though! I'm a time where everyone has a "Help Wanted" sign out front, Great Wolf Lodge has definitely secured the area's best help! Every single person we interacted with seemed happy to be there and more than willing to help us find what we needed or just answer our questions with little annoyance or frustration! We even overheard employees in the hallway talking about how they would have helped each other if they'd have known the other one had so much work to do. True sense of family and cooperation among the employees here who must be treated with some respect by their superiors in order to treat their guests with the same respect. A true sign of good management and employee appreciation! The text messaging service with an almost immediate response about almost anything goes so far above and beyond what most businesses do today. Whoever decided this was a good use of resources was spot on!!! So many details here that have been well thought of and we will definitely visit another one of these in the future! read more

There's not a lot of places you can take a toddler to, and in the winter no less, that's fun and entertaining. This place made a lovely 3 day weekend for us. We still had to pack most of our own food, but with the fridge and microwave, we were able to keep the costs to a minimum. There were a lot of options for him to play in the water, but since he's scared of all running water,r it was a lot of standing in the kiddie pool, but that's not the lodges fault! The bunk beds in the room were so sturdy they accommodated my large husband who had to snuggle with our little guy to get him to sleep, so their stuff is build to take a beating. Some things are pricey, like the arcade and the food, but that's to be expected. If you plan and pack right, you can make it affordable. Also, located near a ton of stores and restaurants, so we were able to have pancakes for breakfast and pick up stuff we forgot at Wal-art. All of the area did smell like car tires, but that's manufacturing for you! My only complaint was our "balcony" room was on the ground floor, so I didn't have a fence, just a concrete pad, and a beautiful view of the construction and parking lot, haha. read more

We are her for the Fourth of July with a late checkout tomorrow, prior to heading back to AZ. I would've given this place 5 stars a week ago but went to GWL in Ontario first. I have only been to indoor water parks in the last four weeks, since I live in AZ. We arrived to Niagara's GWL for one night last Thursday and we were all amazed. Kids are 6, 8, 13 & 18. I tried to add another night or book this week before heading home, but they were booked solid. I came to this location since it was the closest one to PIT. The lodge is amazing, but the water park is so much less than Niagara's. If the older kids were here it would've been a huge disappointment. The food and gifts were significantly less even with the money exchange. I do like that they have lifeguards on duty so you do not have to watch you kids like a hawk, especially when they scatter! Thankfully they are strong swimmers and no longer toddlers. I definitely would consider this park again if I were in the area and my kids were the same age. Since I do not have plans of returning in the near future I don't think I will return... read more

I've been to both Kalahari and Great Wolf and liked Kalahari much better overall, but each has its pros and cons. When we arrived at Great Wolf, we went to a line marked for those of us who did online check in, which we were prompted to do beforehand via email. I'm not sure what the point was because the line didn't get priority and it still moved extremely slow. As I was waiting, I heard some of the desk clerks telling their customers about the nightly activities, where to find their room, etc normal stuff. When I got to our clerk, she checked me in and verified my phone number then just gave me some paperwork with zero other discussion or even directions to my room. I had to ask. Great Wolf's pros in my opinion is that their rooms are better for kids. They have a couple different themed rooms to choose from that are super cute and "fun" for the kids. The downside to the room, at least ours, was that the toilet seat was crooked and there weren't enough plugs in the walls. It needed some updates considering the price. Great Wolf has a better selection of food places to choose from inside including a bar/restaurant good for all ages. The Waterpark is better at Kalahari. It seems like there were more "rides" and a better variety of them. Great Wolf has a few different sized slides and that's about it. Great Wolf only has one small hot tub area for adults only. Their lazy river is pretty lame; it goes around in a small oval and that's it. Great Wolf seems a lot smaller. Their outdoor pool was quite small but good for the little ones because it has the zero depth entrance. The inside isn't decorated much for their theme. Kalahari has lots of different slides/rides to choose from and the surfing wave thing; Great Wolf has nothing like that. Kalahari has an adult only pool area with a swim up bar that's pretty cool. When we checked out, we were told that our wristbands would still work for the day in the Waterpark but they didn't. read more

We stayed for 24 hours, one night. I was more than impressed with this place. My children had a fantastic time. It was the perfect amount of time to spend here. The food was great, the rooms were big and it was only a 3 hr drive from Pittsburgh. The only slight downside was the bathrooms in the waterpark were very dirty. They were wet with soaking wet towels laying all over the place. I'm not really nitpicking here but they could have been a little cleaner. Also, the baby pool was shut down twice on our last day because kids pooped in it on two separate occasions. I do understand that this is not their fault so I won't hold that against them. Overall, it is a solid four stars. We definitely will be coming back because my kids absolutely loved it. It is the perfect place for a 7-8-year-old. My kids were two and five but they still enjoyed it! read more

My family stays frequently at the Traverse City GWL and love it. However, sorry to say the Sandusky branch doesn't provide the same experience. Staff inattentive and surprisingly don't even interact with the kids. It's really overcrowded and not as clean. We tried the Sandusky location out this time for my daughter's birthday because she wanted to stay as her gift. Since we were only going to stay 1 night, we stayed at this location because it was closer to home. Our experience was disappointing. We won't return to the Sandusky GWL again. read more

I'll happily start with the positive aspects of our trip: My 5 year old daughter absolutely adored the water park and story time. She was exhausted after just an hour of sliding Friday night and her very first words upon waking Saturday morning were "Let's go ride the slide we missed yesterday!" The food from the pizzeria was tastier than I expected and that was nice. We share a Greek salad, meatball sub, and pepperoni pizza. All tasty. The bed was super comfortable. And yet: The day before we were confirmed a handicap accessible room. When we got here at check in they told us they had just given the last accessible room away. What does "confirmed" mean? The lack of a walk-in shower meant I didn't get a shower this weekend. When three of the four card keys we were given (two rooms for our group) didn't work at the rooms we were told it was probably our fault for having the cards in our pockets near our cell phones, demagnetizing them. We had gone straight from check-in to the rooms, not even taking them out of the folder we'd been given at check out. It was a good time. I'd come here again for a family outing. But I won't believe them about getting an accessible room. read more

Before I get into anything else, I should mention that as a former lifeguard I was seriously impressed with the attention the numerous guards paid to the pool. They are obviously well trained, and I felt completely comfortable with my son swimming here. My husband and I made quite the miscalculation coming here with our 2.5 year old son. We thought that, given previous experiences with him at splash parks and pools, that he would adore this place, and he simply didn't. The water park was quite overwhelming for him, likely because of the noise and the number of people. As a result, we spent much of our time in the outdoor pool, which was nice but nothing special. I would have been okay with this night away even with this wrinkle, and would probably give the waterpark and outdoor pool 4 stars - 1 star off for theft that seems to happen here, and for towels not being readily available. Make sure you leave nothing of value anywhere - we heard at least one person complain about his stuff being stolen. You can rent a locker, but it seems like a better service would be to offer these to guests for free instead of another $10-20 charge. Our hotel room was filthy, though, which drops this review down to two stars. The shower had tons of grime. We found trash on the floor and under the beds. Squishy peaches (at least, I think they were peaches) were left in the fridge. The room had a mildew smell. Only one bar of soap in the entire room, which was obviously meant for the sink but that means no soap in the shower. None of the beds had sheets that were tucked in. The food was not great, but we felt compelled to eat there and not leave the resort. My husband likes his mac and cheese with andouille sausage at dinner. My barbecue chicken salad was just ok. Breakfast was passable. For the prices this place charges, I expected much more in terms of quality and cleanliness. read more

This review is for the Great Wolf Lodge chain location in Sandusky, OH and is located on the Milan Road near other amusement parks. Stayed here the first week of August 2017, with kids who wanted to visit this venue. Found out to the children's dismay - - this particular location is smaller than other chain locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia. Appears in age and repair to be one of the original water-theme locations? This one is a bit worn and high-wear-tear location. We were able to do the early check-in online and ended up being emailed back about 1pm that we could get into the room, which is recommended, as a stay option. Got into the waterpark right away after check-in and saw it was about 70% full already with all the madness of children screaming and playing! Optimal age group for guests is about 6-10 years old which was the bulk of the crowd and the marketing by the hotel chain. Recommend you get some sort of discount coupon or rate to stay here, as $200.00 per night is too much for this reduced size venue. Food prices are higher-end resort as one would expect. Recommended for younger families with children. read more

I was very excited to bring my boys to this resort! I've heard many great things about Great Wolf Lodge. Unfortunately, it was not a great experience. The cleanliness of this hotel was awful. The hallways were dirty and our room was terrible. The phone and lamps were covered in dust, there was an empty water bottle and crumbs from the last guest laying on the floor, there were hairballs on the bathroom floor. It was gross. I contacted the front desk and they offered us free breakfast. They should have put us in another clean room or had someone come to clean. While breakfast was considerate it didn't change the fact that we were occupying a dirty room. I feel they must have major issues currently with the cleaning staff. The rooms are dated as well. Morning 2 we were woken up by a non emergency fire alarm at 6:30am and had to evacuate the room for an extended period of time. That set the tone for the rest of the day. Anyone that has kids understands that waking up sleeping children is a recipe for a stressful day. Not what you want to deal with on vacation. The staff were pretty friendly so that is a plus. The waterpark was also decent. I was pleased to see the lifeguards actively watching everyone. We would not stay again at this resort because I believe the rooms should have been extra clean and sanitized with Covid still around. This was very disappointing. The fitness room was also closed "due to social distancing" however there was zero social distancing at this hotel. Zero. My son kept begging me to move to Kalahari down the street. You may have better luck with that resort. read more

This was our first time staying at the Sandusky GWL. We've stayed at the Charlotte, NC location numerous times. For us, the Sandusky location was ok, but we were a little disappointed that it didn't offer some of the amenities we enjoyed in Charlotte (no laser tag, no bowling, less dining options, way less options for bigger kids in the water park - only really 1 "big kid" slide). We were also disappointed to find out that they were remodeling all the patios and they were not only inaccessible, but we couldn't even open our patio door to enjoy some fresh air (it was screwed shut). The interior of the hotel definitely needs an update as well. Parts of it looked dirty, but for the most part (there were a few issues) I think it was just that it was tired and worn out. My kids were super disappointed in the MagiQuest hours. Quiet hours didn't start in NC until midnight, so we could enjoy a full day out doing things, then come in a do some MagiQuest until bed. Not in OH. MagiQuest shuts down at 9 pm, which was a real disappointment. By the time we got in from Cedar Point and grabbed a bite to eat, it was too late to play. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We needed extra blankets, poof! They were delivered within minutes. I had no idea how the towel check out worked (not something that was being done at our last visit to the NC location) and the staff were happy to guide. The adults only hot tub was nice, but there was no one enforcing the "adults only" portion, so there were quite a few older kids wandering in and out. This particular GWL is probably better for younger families who are looking for lodging a little low key water park time. All in all, if we're in the area again, we'll probably spend the extra money to stay at the Kalahari. They have more for our older kids. read more

This place was pretty awesome, except the only thing that's really included in the stay is the water park; you have to pay for literally everything else. There is no continental breakfast. If you're hungry, you have to pay for food -- they have a restaurant, a pizza place, an ice cream/fudge shop, and a food place inside the water park. There are also 'passes' for purchase. Those include access to different things but the most expensive one is around $59.99. There is a game room, which is almost not even worth it. It is very expensive. Most games are '8 paws' which amounts to around $2/game. The kids have fun but they also aren't paying for anything. The MagiQuest game is fun, from what I hear, but I didn't pay to do it. There are wands that you walk around with to play the game and make different things light up and talk. read more

I would like to start and say Haley at the front desk was extremely wonderful! She had excellent customer service. She greeted us very kindly, explained everything thoroughly, and was very pleasant when we needed help. The staff all seemed to be kind and well trained throughout the establishment. I also would like to add that their life guards are extremely on point. Job well done!! The only complaint I have is it's very outdated. I found many areas that were worn and for the price we paid for our one night stay, I expected better quality. Here are two pictures to show examples of how things needs to be remodeled and cleaned. I also felt the carpets throughout the building especially in the hallway on the 4th floor need to be cleaned. They were very stained and gross. Unappealing for sure. I will probably try Kalahari in Sandusky before coming back to this location due to the price not being equivalent to the quality of the establishment. read more

This place was great! The kids loved it. The hotel was great and the customer service was awesome. The water park was good too! When I compare it to Kalahari, which I've taken the family to as well. Kalahari's water park is bigger. But, Great Wolf's hotel is better. That such a variety for the kids to do just in the hotel. And though the water park isn't as big, the wife was okay with letting are older kids walk around the water park by themselves. I also noticed that the life guards were very attentive (I was watching). Of course you still keep your eyes on them, but as a parent it gave me another layer of comfort. I recommend Great Wolf for anyone looking for a water park family vacation. All things considered, Great Wolf Lodge is the one for this family! read more

Highly disappointing. Our reservation was wrong, they had us booked for 2 rooms for one night instead of one room for two nights. We were forced to wait in a second line because we did the "pre-registration" after waiting 20 minutes in the first line. Very few chairs at the Waterpark, so unless you're swimming, you're standing. Got back to the room and asked for wine glasses to be delivered and was told I needed to go to the bar and get them myself. Overpriced and underwhelming. This is one of the smaller Great Wolf Lodge locations which is somewhat of a disappointment when my kids were expecting the slides that we had at the other Great Wolf Lodge location (Mason, OH). We stayed here while some of the older kids and adults went to Cedar Point. After the younger kids were tired of swimming the second day, they did all of the activities at the hotel (Face Painting, story time, etc) which was great. Because it's smaller, they also didn't have the option of a bigger room for us, which was kind of disappointing for me. We do have ten people in our party and the one in Mason accommodated with a suite that had two rooms with doors which is nice for little kids and grandparents who may snore a bit at night. read more

So dirty and gross, very uncomfortable beds. Even our kids said they had trouble sleeping. You could literally see the dust on the rocks around the kids and adult hot tubs and also trash in between. Was never cleaned up once in the 3 days we were there. So disappointing. We spent over $2000 on our room and you still had to pay extra for just about everything. read more

We have been coming to the Wolf Lodge for about 7 years now, and in that time we have visited no less than 12 times. When we first started coming we absolutely loved it, now not so much. This is a family resort geared towards children, it's also geared towards mom and dad's wallets. It keeps getting more, and more expensive with each passing year. The rooms have always been a bit pricey unless you go on a weekday and they are running a special. The waterpark is nice but extremley small and is geared towards kids about 8 and under. The resturant use to be a favorite in the evening after all the activities were done..now we go out in town. The menu prices are ludicrous!! If you want to relax and maybe have a night cap at the lounge area..get ready to be bent over. One small..and I do mean small white Russian was $10. The gift shop..dont even get me started. They have an arcade and within 5 mins we spent $15.If you buy your kids paw passes it cost $130..hopefully you just have one kid. I think this was our last year..there are other resorts in the area that are much bigger and have more to offer. If I'm going to be wasting money I'll do it there. read more

This was our second stay at a Great Wolf Lodge. Our previous stay was in Mason, Ohio. The water park at this location was much smaller than we were familiar with. My older daughter was a bit bummed bc of that but it didn't even dawn upon our youngest. So 1 for 2 in that area. We stayed three days and on the second day they had half of the slides shut down for some reason. We never really found out why. We still found ways to have fun and enjoy ourselves. My oldest joined me in the hot tub to relax as my husband ran down some of the smaller slides with our youngest. The rooms were semi-cleaned. As in the linens were changed before we got there. Trash can was empty and fresh towels in the bathroom. The carpets weren't clean, found candy wrappers in various locations. And the mirrors probably had not been cleaned in a week or so. We brought some of our own food for lunches and snacks. We did Dunkin' Donuts one morning and waited over 30 min for two hash brown orders. What was I thinking? Hahaha. We went to other sit down restaurants around town for dinners. The prices were so much better than the restaurants inside. I get the convenience, but I'll gladly trade for a better price and option. The arcade is great for when you are needing a break from all of the chlorine in the water park. Overall we had a great time and will def return to Great Wolf Lodge again. This time it will probably be a different location. I think it would be fun to compare a bunch of them. read more

We love great wolf lodge because our kids do. As an adult though, you look for certain things to make your visit less stressful with kids. Unfortunately, GW missed that mark with a few things. Starting with an hour wait for food (on a weekday) because there is only one chef (I know with Covid everywhere is short staffed, but this happened on our first visit as well). So if we ever come back to this location a third time, I have learned my lesson to not even try the grill again. Our room is another story, very dusty and we had to make our own bed. Our first stay was cleaner, so this was disappointing. However; we love the water park, outdoor pool, and the variety or kids activities. If my kids are having fun, then I'm willing to put these things aside for them. read more

Luckily I came here with family of all ages. I highly suggest the family upstairs and downstairs room, kids Cabin, and 2 queen bed fireplace room. With that in mind please see below: Under 2 years old: Totally not worth the money. You will be wasting money if that's all your taking. Your kid will enjoy sliding down the slide in the shallow end of water, but not more than that. 3-6 year olds: The kids will have a good time they but won't really love it. This is the age where kids are starting to learn the whole concept of swimming and floating. Please note that you will playing WITH them the entire time. The lifeguards are plentiful and attentive, but leaving a novice swimmer alone in the water is irresponsible and dangerous. 7-12 year olds: This is where the love of water starts. There are many of the activities that they can do by themselves or with friends. This is where they don't want to hang with mom and dad. Keep in mind if they can bring a buddy along multiply the fun by 5. Teens: are going to hate it. It's a kids place with not many activates for them to enjoy. The area is small enough that there is no escaping freedom of being free. It also takes away the possibility of flirting with other teens away. Think of it as the not so cool party you don't want to tell your friends about that your parents are dragging you to. Adults: DON'T DO IT!!!! Think Chuck E. Cheese and water that's it. The adult area consist of a large Jacuzzi and some slides. The eye candy around here is SUPER slim not to mention 99.5% are married with kids. Great wolf lodge is magical and we loved everything accept one HORRIBLE issue. Our bedding was clearly not changed from previous guests ! Do yourself a favor and strip the bedding to ensure it is clean before laying down. We did not realize until the next day that there were 2 socks from previous guests and crumbs in between the sheets on one of the beds. This is unacceptable. read more

First time ever at The Great Wolf Lodge, and we highly recommend it! The rooms are very clean, and the employees top notch. They were very professional and helpful, and have a great sense of humor. The kids loved the water slides, and we adults appreciated the outdoor pool and adult hot tub. We also liked the fact that there was a Dunkin Donuts (think coffee), and other shops and stores on the premises. The fact that we could get an evening pizza snack was nice. Fun was had by all, and we will be back. In closing, I have to say the GWL reminded me of Disney's famous Wilderness Lodge in Orlando, and that's a good thing. We took advantage of a Groupon to get a good price on a room here. That was much appreciated. read more

I took my 8 year old here and had a blast. Staff was super great and friendly. Some pointers: -Get the Wolf pass. Worth every penny. Their build a bear thing was awesome. magic quest is a pain in the parents' bum, but the kids loved it. -Their arcade is super expensive. Try to stay away -As well as their kid's spa. Not worth it. -I personally wouldnt bring kids younger then 4/5. They do have a water section for them, but not too much. What I wish I would've known: -There is a Meijer right next door. -To bring more swimsuit coverups. Seriously, you'll spend most of the time in it. -Bring my own coffee- their Dunkin Donuts coffee was kinda gross -There is really no point of getting their upgraded rooms, such as 'the wolves' den' and such. you wont spend enough time in there to justify the cost. read more

We came here for Spring Break. What a pricey 24 hour visit! At time of reservation, a one night stay with breakfast and late checkout for 2 adults and one child ended up running us about $350. We paid for breakfast in advance because it said we would get a discount. Our checkout receipt said our total was $28.83. Had we paid at the time of breakfast it would have been $30. Not much of a discount if you ask me. Food is very reasonably priced and tasted good. Too bad the 20oz Coke products cost $2.50/each. The water park needs a little TLC. The basketball goals are rusted, as are the mirrors in the women's locker room. The stalls aren't tended to very often. A set of wet towels and a diaper sat on a bench in the locker room for over 2 hours. Also, there was toilet paper on the floor in the stalls that wasn't picked up. The duct work, which is green, shows every bit of dust and debris that has collected over time. The life guards are always present and alert, although it wouldn't hurt them to smile evry once in a while. Any time we passed staff in the hallways we were greeted with a smile and a pleasant 'hello'. We reserved the kid's cabin suite. My daughter asked me to sleep in one of the bunks. The mattress was way to thin and so were the blankets. I tossed and turned all night. The toilet in our bathroom wasn't set properly so any time someone stood up it banged against the wall. The grout around the tub was dirty and cracked and the shower curtain needed to be replaced. After purchasing 2 lunches and a dinner for all of us during our stay, our grand total for this trip exceeded $500. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be back. The quality of this 'resort' wasn't worth that kind of money for a stay of 24 hours. read more
