This is the yoga activity for kids, it happens in the morning.

The waterpark is so fun for my family. The activities to do during your stay are Incredible! The "Pack" memebers are so nice and helpful. The beds in the rooms are very nice and comfortable

Stayed one night and 3 out of 5 of us ended up with bed bug bites all over our midsection. I am usually very cautious on checking but apparently this time they got passed me. Mind you, we all slept in different beds and all ended up bitten. Take extra caution with your bags and self when staying here

To Be fair, I have both older kids and a baby. I fell great wolf is ideal for ages 4-11. Pros Very friendly staff, room was very clean, house keeping was efficient, good price, food was good. Cons Very crowded, I feel the water park can not accommodate for everyone if it is fully booked especially if the weather is bad and the outdoor pool is not open, no security (that I saw) several times I saw unattended teens running through the hallways and almost running into several families, bowling area could be bigger to accomedate more families. Overall it is not a bad place to visit. I feel a few changes could make it more enjoyable though

We just just got back from a 2 night stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky, OH and I can confidently say--it was an absolute blast! From the moment we stepped in, the energy was electric and the kids practically bounced out of their shoes in excitement. There's truly no shortage of fun here. Between the towering waterslides, splash zones, a lazy river and kids were entertained from morning to night. The lifeguards were attentive, and the layout made it easy to keep track of everyone without feeling overwhelmed. The water is warm and it's always 84 degrees. We loved the quick-service spots on the main floor of the resort. Whether it was grabbing a burger between rides, smoothies to cool down, or pizza on the go, everything was fast, fresh, and kid-approved. No meltdowns from hangry little ones--huge win! We could've treated ourselves to the resort's sit-down restaurant one night but we didn't have time cause Kids but it looked nice plus, there's a full bar for grown-up beverages (thank you, vacation mode). Room Accommodations Our room was clean, cozy, and just steps from all the action, we had the "Wolfs Den" with the bunk beds. It was such a relief not having to drive anywhere after a day full of adventure. If you're looking for a family getaway that delivers non-stop fun, great food, and a splash of relaxation, this indoor waterpark is a must-do. Already planning our return trip! Marcus Jones Game Plan Edition * Book Online and add the Ultimate Food & Fun Package: Includes $100 dining credit, $50 arcade credit, two MagiQuest games, Ten Paw Alley access, and more. Total win for families who want it all bundled. * Add Early Check-In: Worth every penny to hit the waterpark before the crowds roll in. * Reserve an Indoor Cabana: it's your own spot , so you don't have to go back to the room with comfy seating, a TV, mini-fridge and food service. * Stay Until Close (8 PM): Ride every last slide. * Order Pizza & Snacks: Head to your room, throw on some dry clothes * Arcade & Bowling: Use those Food & Fun credits at Northern Lights Arcade and Ten Paw Bowling

Second time we were here. Came in 2024-2025 new years and had a great stay.. I have a special needs child and when we first arrived he was " lost" in the water park and staff was on it very fast! Using their radios and alerting all staff . Room was clean also. ( I bring a black light flash light when I travel to check rooms for any biological material before I unpack anything) .... Now it's November 2025.. we stayed overnight only.. my autistic son absolutely Loves the characters.. Violet especially! When we left last time he cried 2 days straight missing the " wolf pack " characters in costume. So this visit I asked the staff if at all possible Violet could make an appearance while we were there.. and Sammy the squirrel since we didn't get the chance to meet her our first stay . The staff was AWESOME! Sunday morning made my sons WORLD when he met Sammy squirrel for the first time! And he saw violet again too! He brought her a gift from Pittsburgh as well! Thank you SO much for making my sons year! My only gripe was on Saturday evening during story time my son wanted so bad to be picked to physically participate in story time and the girls only chose smaller children to participate even though my son who is 13 special needs was standing and waving his hands begging to be called.. yes we received a lot of weird stares from parents wondering why this big child was so excited about great wolf.. but I feel I shouldn't have to advertise to the WORLD that my son is 13... on the spectrum and loves great wolf!!! Sometimes I feel they only market to children 10 and under... and I am in NO hurry for my child to grow up.. if he still loves the great wolf costume characters when he is 20 SO BE IT! Maybe keep an open mind to ALL children... even if they look older.. because autism doesn't have a " look" ... and my son was sad that he couldn't play a part in story time.. he has been watching great wolf stuff on YouTube all year.. and drawing all of the characters all year too anxiously awaiting returning this weekend.. as a mom that's what I work hard for .. my money goes towards my sons joy.. and considering all of the other water parks around Sandusky I could always give my $ to another place... hope this doesn't sound too harsh.. but I leave honest reviews..

Great place for kids under 10 years old, mostly a bust if you have older kids. Water area closes at 8pm, though activities go on longer in the lobby. The food is pricey, even by resort standards, but there is a Dunkin Donuts onsite (and there's a AR code in each room so you can order online to pick up). Mixed drinks are good. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and mostly well kept. The water in our room was very slow to drain in both the sink and shower. Despite calling about it, it was never addressed in our 4 night stay. The staff were friendly. The little store on site was well stocked with adult drinks and snacks. We wouldn't stay here again, mostly because our kids have outgrown it and there are equally nice resorts for the price.

    Another stain in cabinet

Let's start with the pros of the following establishment. I have to say that the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. I would like to acknowledge the following staff members for their kindness, as well as my observations of their ability to make guest feel welcomed.(Jayme,Brayden,Katana,Marihzan,& Hailey) these staff members went above and beyond to ensure that our stay ran smoothly. Now, unfortunately, I have to note the cons the Great Wolf Lodge resort requires an upgrade if I'm being completely honest, as I was reviewing the room, I noticed a lot of areas of concern, for example in newer resorts, there are areas to charge your phones, iPads or possibly watch however, next to our bed, there was no space to charge our devices. I would also like to note that within our room, I saw spots of mold within the shower. There was also various cosmetic damage within the room for example, in the photos included, you'll see stains in the cabinets due to maybe a previous guest spilling drinks, as well as gouges in the TV stand. I also noticed that someone left a pushpin in the wall. During our stay, I did want to highlight that there are vegan options within the resort myself as a vegan. I am always concerned that I won't be able to find vegan options. However, within the restaurant, you will find a hummus and veggie bowl. The sorbet was noted to be vegan. However, I highly suggest you ask the staff about the ingredients list. I would also like to note that the walls are extremely thin during our stay around 2:48 AM the children above us were running back-and-forth into the morning hours and we heard everything! The hotel notes strict quiet hours from 11 PM to 7 AM however this is hard to monitor when the Noise is coming from individual rooms. I did enjoy how the arcade was open 24 hours. Our family noted that the best part was the waterpark as well as the duckpin bowling area. Of course the arcade was absolutely amazing. However, the variety of prizes I have to say was quite lackluster for what we paid for this attraction. The VR experience was I would have to say a five out of 10 it could've been better as it was advertised at the VR experience will be King Kong however it ended up being raging rabbits. Within the lobby, I'd like to note that Hilton has partnered with the Great Wolf Lodge resort and there is a photo booth and wolf ears available. To give you a brief of what Hilton is doing they are advertising for a timeshare property you pay a fee of $190-$250 depending on what's advertised to you to get a stay at one of their resorts and you will have to give four hours of your time to listen to a timeshare presentation, you're not allowed to leave that presentation. However, once it's completed, you'll receive that free stay. That's what's being advertised within the great Wolf Lodge lobby so if you feel the need to take the picture in the Photo Booth, that's what will be advertised to you. Overall, the Wolfpack was great. We really enjoy building our build a bears, playing duckpin bowling, enjoying the arcade, the ice cream cup and candy. However, we wish we had more time to do the wand and magic quest activity. Overall great Wolf Lodge was a wonderful experience however, there is a lot of cosmetic damage and dated rooms within the establishment. I have to say that they would benefit from a complete Upgrade to their properties to meet modern feels.

Does this sandusky location have late night dance parties?

There is a dance party in the lobby staring at 9.

Does anyone have a photo of how much the build a bear place costs?

I do not have a picture but I am pretty sure the characters were 24.99 and then the outfits ranged in price. I have not been to a build a bear before but a friend told me the pricing is very similar.

Unfortunately it was cold and rainy so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor waterpark, but that didn't matter to the kids, who marveled at the towering water slides and play areas. The whole place was very clean, nothing like Great Wolf Lodge. Customer service was great everywhere we went. Like any theme park these days, EVERYTHING is monetized, and everything is VERY expensive. Nothing is complimentary, and there's no breakfast or fresh coffee in the morning for free. The room itself was... fine. We got a suite so the size was nice and the beds were clean and comfy, but the bathroom is bizarre. First, there is no fan in the toilet area. HUGE no-no and seems like an easy fix. Second, the sink is outside of the bathroom. I can see how if you have multiple people getting ready this could speed things up, but without a fan blocking some of the, ahem, noise, it makes things supremely awkward. The rooms could use a makeover/upgrade, but the facility overall is quite nice and huge.

We contacted resort staff three separate times with serious concerns during our stay and saw no action taken--only empty apologies. That lack of response was extremely frustrating and made it feel like guest experience was not a priority. Going back to the room for a break didn't help. Our room faced a solid wall, did not have a fireplace as advertised, and we dealt with constant loud door slamming and wall pounding from nearby cleaning staff. It was not relaxing and made it difficult to rest. The conditions in the waterpark were also unacceptable. The lines for the water slides smelled strongly of urine, as if people were urinating while standing in line, which was extremely unpleasant and unhygienic. The wave pool was especially concerning. Chunks of concrete were breaking off the bottom of the pool, and I cut my foot on one of these pieces, about the size of a penny. There was concrete grit throughout the water, which was very unsafe - I gave chunks to the staff to emphasize my concerns. On top of all of this, everything was freezing cold. The wave pool water was freezing, the slide water was freezing, and the hot tubs were not hot at all despite hour-long wait lines with 40+ people. Even the indoor temperature felt cold. For the cost of this stay, none of this was acceptable. Overall, this experience was not worth what we paid and fell far below expectations.

We spent 2 nights on a weekend at the resort. We booked the…read morebunk room which had 2 bunks and a king sized bed at the room/waterpark only rate in late February 2026. The good: Waterpark and room were clean. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Kids really enjoyed themselves (10 and 14). There are lots of restaurant options within 3-5 miles to fit any budget. The majority of lifeguards took their jobs seriously and enforced rules. It was less expensive than other indoor waterparks. Room fridge was great for storing snacks and drinks. Nearly everywhere in the hotel is crazy loud, but, the craft room was a great place to take a sensory break and slow down for a bit. The area by the aquarium on the third floor was also quieter often. There was a seating area for reading and tables available for boardgames with a view of the bay. The bad: We waited in line at 4:15 pm for a half an hour to just check in. They had a line of people filling the entire lobby with 4 staff checking people in. It was not streamlined at all. The changing room did not have a curtain or door on it. Nor did the bunk room. The only place to change privately was the small room off the bathroom with toilet and shower. Walls are paper thin. You will hear everything going on in the hall and the rooms around yours. We also happened to be right off the elevator bank which added a whole new level of noise. Elevators are slow and tiny. With luggage, you can fit 3-4 people tops. We chose the stairs almost every time despite our room being located on the 3rd floor right next to the elevators. That said, the stairwells are super loud as it's all metal and cement/concrete. Large attractions do close. The wave pool was closed half the day Saturday which was our kids favorite thing. You need a special card for any arcade, bowling, or golfing you do and that's an extra $3 charge plus what you load onto it. They have cute character "room doors" throughout the hallways. These are often right next to a room door and kids will push the buttons to make them talk all day/night. So many of the areas were unnecessarily loud. You couldn't hear anyone speak in the arcade or waterpark. Stairwells were like banging on metal drums while they echoed between 4 floors. The ugly: Their mini golf (albeit it glow course) is highway robbery. $10 per person (despite being told it was $6 by staff) and only 8 holes. The 9th hole was just putting your ball up a ramp into their skee-ball cup. If you mad it a fun sound went off, if you didn't, it collected it and played a failed sound. Our "bay view" window was COVERED in bird poop and cobwebs on the exterior side. The entire side of the building was filthy to look at. I would not suggest paying extra for the view. This might have been a one off experience in the activity pool but the one time we tried it, I had teenagers tackling me from behind as they fought over basketballs. I was pushed over multiple times by them when they crashed into me (and others in the pool) and nothing was done about it by parents or lifeguards. My kiddo and I eventually left because the ball he and another younger kid were playing with kept getting takin by the teens. Overall, it was a cheaper room option than other places but I'm not sure we'll be going back again. The extra fees for everything else adds up quick and sleep was nearly impossible with the noise level around our room.

I'll start off by saying that the water park, itself, is very nice. The arcade is also nice and spacious, with a great variety of games that seem well-maintained. However, there's some issues that really detract from the experience. Customer service was my biggest gripe. The check in guy was pretty cold at first, but later he was more helpful. I was especially disappointed with the snack bar staff. The water park snack bar is in a dimly-lit corner, and when I went in, there was no one visibly working there. After a minute, a lady came out from the back, and I asked if the snack bar was open at that time. She gave me a condescending look, and didn't say anything, as if I should obviously expect the location to be open, despite the lack of an open sign or employee behind the counter. Then another guy comes out and starts making the order and neither him nor his coworker talked at all, just kinda scowled and made my partner and I feel like we were doing something wrong just by being respectful paying customers. They were the kind of workers I'd expect to see at a run-down McDonald's late at night, not a family vacation resort. The hotel itself is also nothing special. The beds are small and not particularly comfy, but the rooms are clean and nice enough. But the walls are THIN and you hear way too much noise from other guests. Overall: good waterpark+okay hotel+bad staff=mixed experience

The experience is one that I've come to cherish. However, there are several drawbacks I would 100% recommend renting a cottage instead of staying at Hotel Lakeside (which is the reason for such the mediocre review). The rooms, while quaint, were very dirty in the corners and I wouldn't recommend looking under the bed unless you're a dust bunny aficionado. We were told that we were going to get a kitchenette which we did not receive (and apparently there isn't one in the entire hotel). My room was nice enough (besides for the dust), but my grandparents' room's air conditioning was not working and the room had a musty odor. Thankfully they were able to get the bridal suite on the second floor but even then, the bathroom was so small we were worried they would fall and hurt themselves. In terms of food, you don't really have many options. Besides for the hotel's restaurant, there are some coffee shops that aren't open for dinner, sloopy's and the New Mexican restaurant. The hotel's food is delicious but because there are only a few items on the menu, they can get old rather quickly. Sloopy's is nice for a few meals but eating that much unhealthy food will not make your stomach very happy. This is the other reason I recommend getting a cottage. Just so you could make your own home cooked meals instead of relying on eating out. Lastly, the porch. This is the most redeeming quality to the hotel. Looking out over the lake in the covered porch with everyone quietly reading or on their phones is incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating. In the end, I would recommend coming to Lakeside 100%. However, stay at the hotel at your own risk and definitely not for more than four days.

I was in charge of checking us in and the staff could not have been friendlier. The entire process was quick and painless. We had our tickets for the park and all the info we needed. The room wasn't ready because it was a few hours before typical check in time, but they stuck us in the queue and we got a text when it was ready. I was impressed with the soap, shampoo, and body wash included in the bathroom. The room itself was a little outdated, but clean and spacious enough for us to sleep in. The beds weren't the most comfortable, but I still got a good 8 hours after spending 12+ on my feet in the park. I loved the seasonal decor around the lobby and the water and ice machines on the first floor were convenient and appreciated. Also, they have a gift shop in the lobby near the entrance!

When I called to cancel she said we would still be charged the $241 deposit as they have a 3 day notice to cancel policy. This would have been more acceptable if we had made the reservation 3 days in advance. There should be some consideration given. We made reservations exactly 3 days prior so other than canceling at same time of booking they take your money regardless. Warning to those wanting to book a last minute get away, don't do it here, book somewhere with realistic policies.
