We worked primarily with Meredith and BJ (with Meredith leading) and not only are they an absolutely stellar team, they are also the kindest, most fun humans to work with. It made what should have been a super stressful experience actually pretty fun. Before getting to know them, two aspects of their business really stood out to us (we met with multiple agents before choosing Boston Home Team): their incredible listing services - especially the photos/videos they provide (I am especially fussy about this as a full-time professional photographer myself) - and the fact that they come in and spend a good chunk of time working with the homeowner on the staging aspect. This ended up being my favorite part of the experience - working with Meredith to make our home look its absolute best. She has phenomenal taste and also offers additional items to fill gaps where needed. My husband thought it was all a bit silly ... until we closed at over 30% over asking price. ;) What we didn't realize in advance was just how much time and effort they would put into marketing our home. They work their social media hard, and the eventual buyer found our home through Facebook ads (they hadn't even been looking in our town). Their communications throughout were top-notch and I felt comfortable reaching out multiple times with silly questions and thoughts, and they were always so encouraging and enthusiastic in their responses. I cannot recommend them highly enough. We are SO grateful that our realtor friend who is no longer in the Boston area was able to recommend them to us.

As renters, we had to deal with one of their agents Sarah Martin, as she was showing our apartment…read moreto potential renters. She is rude, unprofessional, and I suspect she lied to us. She kept telling me that she couldn't contact me using my phone number, but I was able to contact and be contacted by everyone else. We had three visits with her. Because we have a cat in the apartment, we wanted to be there during the visit, which is not a huge requirement. She agreed to it prior. The first visit went ok, although she arrived 5 minutes early and somehow left before coming back, and did not give us a 24h notice. During the second visit, she said she could not receive my messages and supposedly I did not receive hers. She warned my partner 5 minutes before the visit, and I arrived while they were still visiting the apartment. I asked to sort out her problem contacting me but she said she didn't have time. I gave her my email, that she used to book the third visit, again with less than 24 hours notice. For the first visit, she arrived earlier than announced, and finished the visit before I came, all without contacting me to mention she was there. I waited for 20 minutes at the apartment after contacting her by email before receiving a message saying they had already left. No apologies, nothing. She told my partner I didn't have to be there during the visit. Overall she gave me the impression that she didn't want us to be there during the visit and was trying to be sneaky about it, instead of telling us. The two stars instead of 1 is because her manager made her stop the visits at our apartment after I contacted him. He didn't apologize in any way though, so I'm being nice here. We had no issues with the other real estate companies that showed our apartment. If I was you I would not use their agency, there are plenty of good ones around.

Norman was really wonderful to work with! He moves fast- you've gotta keep up! I mean that literally. The man is always buzzing about. He knows just what to look for when you're seeing a home. While you're there deciding if there's enough closet space, Norman's the one asking about the electrical wattage and pointing out little things you may have overlooked. He's great at what I called "kicking the tires." It's your decision, but he's there to help you and look out for you. Norman was there every step of the way and I always felt well-informed. He even made me feel ok about withdrawing an offer when it wasn't exactly the right move for us. I felt like I could call him anytime- he was always there to answer my questions and if not then, just a few minutes later. Yet at the same time, I never felt like I was not the focus of his attention when we were meeting. If you've never looked for a condo before, just know that you're looking at the same listings all the agents get, so it's on you to point out the ones you want to see and the agent will set it up for you. They're not going to comb through the listings for you and suggest what you should see. Norman was our buyer's agent- meaning that he was there to help us, the buyers, purchase a home (he gets paid through the bank, not you). He was there to walk us through the process, deal with the seller's agent and translate the homebuying language for us. He did all that- Norman is fantastic at his job. He's a straight shooter. You're in good hands if you choose Norman to help you buy your home! I'd recommend him to anyone who's looking!

She wanted to get ahold of me though so she constantly called my roommates (who I had just listed as a reference on my apartment application, I didn't tell her she could contact them for any other reason) all morning asking them where I am. This was all because she wanted to get a check from me that Saturday and couldn't wait til Monday when I was both available and the banks would be open. I think she may be an addict of some kind based on that behavior. On top of that she was just rude and did not want to lift a finger. I am paying this person thousands of dollars to essentially just be a paperwork middleman, and I told her that I need specific language in my lease saying I can have a dog (the landlord agreed to this verbally so I just wanted it in writing). She just straight up told me she didn't want to do that because it was too much work. I'm sorry I asked you to do a teeny tiny amount of work for your insane paycheck Andrea. I definitely will never be coming to you again!

My husband and I hired Erik and Randall to sell our Cambridge condo. We dealt mostly with Erik…read more They start out pretty well because Raveis supplies them with the basic prototypes for the websites, pamphlets, etc., so at least those look good. However, after going on and on in their presentation about how they use professional photographers, they showed up with a digital camera and that was about it for that. They also used a lockbox when we specified in our contract with them that we did not want one (they put it up before one of their many long vacations and then never removed it). After about three weeks on the market, they stopped proactively giving me updates on showings and Open Houses. I had to call and call and email and call multiple times, in order to get information about any showings and OHs. Over and over, I had to tell them I expected to be updated on how things were going, at least once a week. Also, during the 4 months we were listed, they took no less than 4 vacations -- 2 of them longer than a week each! During which time, I received little to no information. Not only did he not acknowledge or address any criticisms about what I expected from their performance, he would get snippy and petty about it and lecture me on how great a team he was in, how many homes they've sold, and how I should appreciate all that they were doing. When we finally got an interested buyer, he let the negotiations go on for 3 mos, letting the buyer take up to 2 weeks to respond to our offers (and again not updating us on what was going on unless we asked about it), while at the same time, harassing me and my husband - even over Christmas Day and on weekends -- to give our responses in less than 24 hours to the buyer. Basically, he would tell us that everything the buyer asked for was reasonable while everything we asked for was unreasonable -- even if it was just asking for 24 hrs to respond. Erik was definitely more interested in just closing the deal than in protecting my interests. I had made it clear that I did not care to sell low and that I would rather rent than do that. This did not matter to him. When I pointed these things out, I would get long-winded emails and long-winded, whining, "doomsday" messages on both mine and my husband's cell, about how I "had to sell now or I wouldn't be getting anywhere near my price in the future" etc. When I called him out on how poor this behavior was in an selling agent, he then stopped all communication with me right as we were entering the inspection/p&s phase. I had to get my lawyer involved with every step of the p&s process, just to be kept informed about what was going on. The sale fell through, by the way, in part due to Erik's lack of communication. Obviously, I do NOT recommend using this team for your home sale. They are not good at negotiations, they are not proactive about keeping the client informed, they have no sense of how to provide good customer service, and they are looking to push you to sell low and fast so they can make their commission and be done with the sale in the least time possible, regardless of what you told them you want to do.
