Highly unethical business practice, especially in regard to the way they process their Groupons. The deal is for 5 laser treatments, and apparently when you call to make an appointment they say that it only applies to the consultation and your treatments will have to go through insurance. Meaning you pay a co-pay for each treatment. When I mentioned how misleading their Groupon was, she said it was in the fine print. No, no it's not in the fine print. Please see attached photo. Now Groupon is going to receive a ton of phone calls from dissatisfied customers, and I feel bad for them. Shame on this office for trying to exploit patients the way they do. Shame. read more

I went in there for orthotics because the ones I have are about 10 years old. I'm a runner and had gotten previous orthotics from an orthopedic surgeon. When I got fitted for those 10 years ago they did foot and gait analysis, had me run and walk on them. So when I went to see this person who claims he's a doctor (Majewski) and when his assistant just made a quick 1 minute imprint of my feet for $350 orthotics, I was skeptical. But my fiancé had suggested I was there so at least try and see what happens. I received my orthotics about a month later (a long time to wait also) and they hurt my feet the second I put them on. So I made a follow up appointment and they scheduled me for a time when he wasn't even in the office. Then because there was a misunderstanding with my insurance they wouldn't even let me see him to adjust or at least discuss the options to correct why my $350 orthotics hurt my feet. So long story short, he won't refund the money. Won't fix them. And from now on, I would highly recommend going to a REAL medical doctor like an orthopedic surgeon for feet problems. My fiancé and I are both runners and we are appalled at how his office and he treated me and how terrible the orthotics are. Lesson learned - I should have trusted my gut. If i could give this place no stars, I would. They are fraudulent and unethical. When there are so many more options out there for real doctors, why go here. read more

Chris Majewski, and the services he performed, wasn't that bad. As Denzel Washington would say in the film Philadelphia, his medical treatment of me was satisfactory. Like a bologna sandwich. However, everything that swirled around him made me feel weird or disgusted, to the extent that i decided to find another podiatrist for the followup. Here's the story: 1) There are signs on the wall that provide monetary or gift incentives if you rate the doctor on certain social media. Everyone knows that if you are being paid for a rating, the rating will tend to be better than if not. Anyway, this pandering is not very doctorish, i feel. One reason I chose Chris is because he had a greater number of ratings than many other doctors. I felt he had a large base of faithful patients. Now I feel the number of ratings may have a different origin. 2) when i sat in the podiatrist chair, the girl who seated me, who was also working the front desk that day, looked at my foot and told me that the doctor would have to do such and such procedure. this is fine. then she prepared the foot for the such and such. this was not fine. she had made a treatment procedure, and she was not a doctor. also, she never asked me why i was there or what my complaint was. anyway, i really wanted a podiatrist to give me all the answers. when Chris came in, his duties had been spelled out by a 25-year-old cutie. 3) when i went to pay my bill, they told me they took American Express. then they told me the machine was down, or something, and it would be a while. i said i would wait, and sat on the couch. it was a Friday. then they said they said they would run the card number through next week. i said ok. it just seemed as though they might be waiting for me to provide a less expensive (for them) credit card. 4) Chris told me to come back in three months, and he would measure me for a prosthetic device. But he could have easily measured me that instant. I felt, whether true or not, that he was trying to ensure another income generating visit. If I didn't have to put up with all the BS in this office, i would have given Chris three stars. I would never refer Chris to my family and friends. Chris would be better if he worked for a larger office, where he was just a cog in a larger wheel, and someone else had a boot to his neck. read more

GREAT PODIATRIST AND EXCELLENT CARE! I have been Dr. Majewski's patient for the last 6 years. I have never had one bad experience with him or his staff. I used to live a mile or two from his office but now I travel an hour to his Germantown office or 45 minutes to his Aspinwall office to continue to be treated by him. When I first went to him, I had broken bones in both feet that people had just called stress fractures. Dr. Majewski was the first doctor to suggest that I had a chronic problem that should be checked out. A later Dr. at a very famous hospital still missed the problem and only a top Endocrinologist at another top hospital finally diagnosed me with a bone disorder. Dr. Majewski checks me annually, fits me with new orthotics and ensures that my feet work well even with my condition. I could just switch to a podiatrist near my work and home but the fact that he tried to understand my root problem and still asks, 6 years later about my overall health, shows that he cares about me as his patient. I appreciate that level of care and I have referred my friends to him. read more

OK, well, for starters, let me be clear. The staff is very friendly and Dr. Majewski (a/k/a "Juice") is friendly enough. But, lemme tell ya, instead of a DPM degree, his office is reflective of someone with an MBA with a concentration in MARKETING. To their credit they have kept the ValPack voucher deal as promised @ $99 for (I think) 10 treatments. Juice explained to me in our initial consult that while he doesn't really make anything with the Valpak promotions, he makes up for it in the office visit billing/claim. He was also very clear that I have some "homework" to do, as in make sure I use the anti-fungal show spray and put the cream on my toes every nite/morning. There are self-published books all over the office, in all the rooms and each book cover shamelessly plugs "$497 of free offers".... There are the reminders about earning "free" movie tickets for "sharing the love", writing a review, etc. There was even a placard next to the exam chair I was in describing how to get your free movie tickets. Gawwwlyyy..... one can't get away from it!. They did run a lab culture on my nails, and the report verified my condition. The lasers do seem to be working....but we'll see in a few more months. Hopefully I won't need monthly visits into 2017. read more

I used Dr. Majewski's advise on snipping two ligaments out of the three on the bottom of my left foot, as a solution for my my acute plantar fasciatis. Weeks and several months after the operation, I complained about continued terrible pain on the base of my foot (the plantar issue), but also that I now felt a new painful "bump" on the front metatarsal area of that foot. During my several visits, Dr Majewski did not as much as even touch my foot, remaining 4-5 feet away for only a visual inspection of it. I don't even know why I bothered to even take my shoes and socks off! Dr Majewski is NOT a hands-on doctor and I certainly did not feel that he had any concern for my recovery. I gave-up on him, and went to another doctor, had lots of therapy on my foot, and only after 2 years, I can somewhat use my foot normally now, but not without pain. I am told, Dr Majewski should have snipped one of my ligaments, not two of them at once! I strongly do NOT recommend him for anyone with a major condition. read more

I recently went back to see Dr. Majewski for a quick and easy service. I don't have any complaints. His office staff was polite. They prepared me for the doctor before he came in. I signed some sort of legal paperwork stating I was aware of the procedure and what it was. That was different from my prior visit. Dr Majewski was pleasant and professional. I purchased the Living Social deal for the 5 laser treatments. After the 1st visit, I was charged a $60 co-pay, and was told that that was because of the initial consultation, and that I would not have to pay that on the remaining trips. Fine. Fair enough. That still could have been explained on the voucher better. The voucher makes no reference of needing insurance, how much the co-payments / "office visits", etc., would be. After that 1st visit, I told the receptionists that I wanted to avoid being charged any future co-payments, and to make a note for my future visits. I went again on Monday for my 2nd treatment, and was AGAIN charged a $60 co-pay "because the doctor spoke with me, which made it an office visit". This "doctors visit" was Dr. Chris coming into the room for about 1 minute, looking at my feet, and saying "it's a long process, keep doing what you're doing". I know it is a long process. He told me that the last time. I was not expecting miracles over a month. I didn't consider that "an office visit", since no services were rendered. I was just there for the next laser treatment (which I had already paid for). I thought he was just being courteous. I guess next time I have to tell him to go away and not come in the room! Otherwise I am looking at $400 ($300 in co-pays + $100 for the voucher) for treatments that may not work. Not as glamorous a deal as the 89% savings that the LS page says. Additionally, they are not honoring the "paid value" of a previously purchased voucher for anything other than the laser treatment ($879 value, according to the voucher). Any other time I've had an expired Groupon or LS voucher, the paid value is still good to use at the business for anything else...since the money has already been paid. I guess it isn't here. For a business that relies so heavily on customer reviews, they do not do a good job of making everything known up front. I just wish I had read some of these other Yelp reviews before I bought the deal...otherwise, I would not have. I am giving 2 stars because the treatment does seem to be working (slowly). Have some concerns about how ethical this practice is. There appears to be lots of billing for lots of procedures to the insurance company...some of the procedures are legit, many are not...Stay on top of the billing. Also beware the "cheap" laser treatments. After 12-15 of these treatments nothing has changed and if culture were done BEFORE laser treatments began we may have chosen other options before wasting my time and money. Also beware the push for orthotics. No matter what your problem is I get the feeling that orthotics will be urged as the cure. read more

I had a terrible experience with this office. The doctor informed me that the foot inserts would be $300, but what he didn't tell me was that was for each foot. I had to pay for everything upfront even though I had insurance and he was in their network. The doctor had told me the inserts would take 3-4 weeks. After 7 weeks, I still had not heard from them, so I called the office and the receptionist said the inserts were sitting there in a box and I could come get them. When I got the invoice from my health insurance, I called the doctor's office to ask about the billing discrepancy since I had been charged $600 for the inserts. Their voicemail said the billing specialist would return the call in 48 hours. They never called me back even though I gave them weeks to do so. So I called the office and talked to the receptionist and told her my question; she promised the billing specialist would return my call. They never called me back. The lack of professionalism was enough to ensure I won't be returning. read more

Awful - I brought my mom here recently and it was the worst, I will not be bringing her back. The doctor was rushed and some of the suggestions that he gave to her were common sense, didn't need to pay to find this out. Billing issues in the past, not sure if this has changed but it was a big mess (my mom was billed for things she never received). Lastly, the bathroom was not working. Not only is this an inconvenience to patients but that poor staff, not being able to use the bathroom all day seems inhumane. Think twice before coming to this place. read more

Dr. Majewski was kind, thorough and engaging. I came in with serious pain from Plantar Fasciitis. I am a runner and had to completely stop. But Dr. Majewski examined me, ordered an MRI and we ended up ordering a very reasonably priced set of custom orthotics. They have been perfect. I am now getting a second pair as well. I was able to resume running within days of the orthotics and these are the soft ones not the hard ones that dig into your feet. I'm running the best times of my running career. So my first visit seemed okay-even though I was leery of the place. However since then I would agree that this location is a little sleazy. My follow up appointment to pick up orthotics was cancelled by the Dr. in December. In speaking with the scheduler, she told me it would be okay to pick up the orthotics when they arrived. I didn't hear anything for a few weeks, so I called to check on them-and was told that I had to come in for an appointment to pick them up after all. I have had plantar fasciitis for years and have worn orthotics for years; there was really no reason for an appointment. I was told this is "state law", but I believe it is only so the practice can bill the insurance for a full visit. So I finally have my appointment to pick-up my orthotics. I was charged for a full office visit-when all I did was see the technician who gave me "gait training"-which is a fancy term for watching me walk the hallway. They tried to schedule me for another "follow up" after a month-for what purpose, I don't know-if I was new to orthotics I could understand but as I made clear many times-I knew exactly what I needed in simply obtaining new custom orthotics. The Dr. has written several books, which are plastered throughout the office. Some of them look legit, but others look rather cheesy, including titles like "How to lose 20 pounds". Horrible customer service. When Dr. Majewski's office overcharged for an office visit, I had to contact them to alert them of the over charge. It took multiple phone calls and very unhelpful receptionists to me to even get to the right person to discuss. Their benefits/billing person did respond back and assured me a refund for the difference would be issued, but only a "note" was placed in the account with no amount so they haven't refunded. Now they have to talk to the billing person again and so I'm waiting. It's been a few months since this ordeal started and I'm still having to contact them. I don't know what kind of office this is, but I would not recommend it to anyone. I think it's a scam and whatever they can get away with charging your insurance company they will try. read more

I enjoy going to Dr. Majewski's office. I had the toenail laser surgery in his office. It seems to be helping my toe nail fungus. I think that Dr. Majewski's knowledge about what ails my feet and toes are great. I like that he has medical books available as on subjects, as toe nail fungus. I like the nail polish that we can purchase in his office to use that treats the toenail fungus. I enjoy the starter kit that I obtained from him with various foot products that can be bought in his office. So it has been a very good experience for me in Dr. Makewski's office and I thank him for all the help I receive from him, plus he can also perform surgery on my feet or toes if necessary. I have been going to Dr Chris Majewski's office for treatment for three months now and I have only good things to say about him, his staff and the office. I love Dr. Majewski's friendly demeanor and he obviously knows what he does. I find the office very comfortable and welcoming. Everyone on the staff I've interacted with is very caring. The front desk is very efficient and I don't care if someone from the front desk performs a simple procedure on me - it is not rocket science what they do, and good for them that they can do it! I have purchased in living social 5 nail treatment. I also purchased from them more medication to finish the treatment. I live in Alexandria and the closest location to me is silver spring and I tried to book my appointments after 11:00 am just in case it's traffic. It takes me without traffic 45 minutes to get there. I couldn't find anything earlier than 10:30 this time. On my way of course I had to find traffic so I called them to let them know if I could be late and they said up to15 mins. Of course their parking lot was full. Long short 16 mins late and they refused to take my 5 minutes treatment even I begged them to fit me in between. As someone who has been going to a podiatrist for over 20 years, I am in awe at the way they run their office. I went here for new orthotics because I moved and it was closer to my home. Not only were my orthotics completely screwed up (which I thought was near impossible to do since they take a mold of your foot), but the front desk staff were the most frustrating people to work with. All 3 of my appointments, they called me several times trying to get me to come earlier than my actual appointment because they wanted to leave early. I left work early to make it on time to my 3rd appointment only to get there and have the door locked and nobody answer the phone. Beyond that - the LASER TOENAIL TREATMENT IS BOGUS. FOLKS IT DOES NOT WORK. I went to about a total of 6 treatments and the last time they went over each toe 5 times. The doctor I saw at this establishment was very knowledgeable about my problem. When everyone I talked to said I may have heel spurs, but the doctor said all I need was some stretching, to roll a frozen bottle under my hurt heal, and he is looking into building a shoe soul to lessen the impact of my heel on the ground when I run. read more

What a terrible experience! I spent $119 on three sessions of Laser toenail fungus removal, and unfortunately, tGWAP only honored one session. When I attended my first session, the office assistant assured me that the first treatment had to be started before the coupon expired. However, when I tried to book the second treatment, they had changed their story. The staff - especially the female that answers and responds to phone calls might be the rudest girl I have ever talked to. She just talks on top of you - louder and faster - as you are trying to speak. When I told her I paid for 3 sessions and I wanted the remaining two, she told me I "got more than my money's worth from the first session, as laser treatment for ONE TOE costs over $700. Hmmm, it seems i've been taken like others who have reviewed this practice on other sites. I purchased a groupon for laser treatments thinking payment was taken care of. In addition to a couple of hundred dollars i spent, this practice also charges my insurance company and collects a deductible from me each time i visit.
