My concerns about the affected area were not addressed. That same morning, after seeking outside guidance online, I was advised to go to the emergency room due to the risk of infection. I contacted Dr. Deming and was seen that morning, after which I was admitted to Suburban Hospital. At the hospital, the area that had previously been ignored was confirmed to be infected, and I ultimately required surgery that included the removal of bone. I then requested care from a different podiatrist. After I informed the nurse practitioner that I was withdrawing consent for further treatment from Dr. Deming, he later entered my hospital room unannounced, closed the door, and raised his voice, asking, "Am I fired?" I told him I did not want to discuss the matter. Despite this, he proceeded to give unsolicited medical advice about my foot, even though I had withdrawn consent. He ended the interaction by saying "good luck" in a derogatory tone and left visibly angry. I found this interaction distressing and inappropriate, particularly given the medical circumstances. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this provider.

My kids like him as well. Kathryn is an office gem. Her knowledge of the body and how to get at various muscles to stretch them is amazing. I always enjoy working with her and find I learn something new every time. Chiros like any other body worker have their own unique touch. Dr. D is muscular, with an athletic build, but a gentle touch. His set up is very accurate for me and it takes little force by him to move things where they need to go, where I have had others unable to do so. He is on the quiet side but knows a lot about the body and how to treat it, beyond chiropractic.

Dr. Pollack and the rest of Proactive Chiropractic have JUST reopened up their office and pretty much as soon as I saw the email, I went to book through their *announcer voice* convenient online booking system! That's right Johnny. But for real, they are taking all of the precautions and more that you expect people who care to take. There is only one doctor on at a time, there is only one patient in the office at a time. There is one front desk associate to help you. Both the doctor and the front desk are wearing masks. There is one chair in the waiting room. As soon as you enter the office you're instructed to wash your hands. There is a sign that says please wash your hands before and after you see the doctor. The adjustment apparatus and rolly thing (technical term) is disinfected after every patient. You must wear a mask during the visit. I mean... I don't know how they could get ANY safer. And it makes me feel 100 percent comfortable visiting the office and getting my adjustment, which I was in dire need of. Dr. Pollack is as wonderful as ever. The front desk associate was as nice as a person could be. That's one of the many reasons why when anyone in my vicinity (which unfortunately hasn't been a lot of people as of recent), but if ANYONE says "My back hurts." My first and most immediate response is, "You should see my chiropractor. I have a great chiropractor, he's right off 7 locks." I can't tell you how many times I've said that, and I can't imagine how many times I will in the future.

Every single time, he's gone above and beyond. His bedside manner is outstanding--he listens, explains things clearly, and genuinely cares about his patients. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to see him (kudos to his staff for running a well organized office and schedule for this busy doctor). He said it was nothing and prescribed an anti-inflammatory and rest. I took about a month off before I started training again, with no issues. I was training for the Marine Corps Marathon, got up to 15 miles, headed out for my 18 mile run and my knee gave out completely. I went back to see the doctor and he diagnosed me with tendinitis, prescribed PT and rest. I took 6 MONTHS off. I spent those 6 months in PT, following orders, doing exercises, etc. I saw him during a 3 month check up and he said I was making progress. When I was discharged from PT, I got the ok to start running again. For 3 months, I gradually built my running back up and got the ok to run a Half Marathon...the Nike Women's Half. At Mile 8, my knee gave out. I went to see a different doctor (Dr. Annunziata). He called for an MRI (something Dr. Pandarinath had never done) and diagnosed me with IT Band Syndrome...which has the complete opposite symptoms of tendinitis. A runner with a knee injury and you don't take an MRI? Even I questioned that. So, now it's May, I'm almost a year out from an injury that typically has a 6-8 week recovery time, and I'm just now starting to recover because of his misdiagnosis. Oh, and I would say his wait times were decent...except for that one time I waited for 90 minutes in his office and he never showed up.

I left with a diagnosis and treatment plan that, in my opinion, was generic enough that I could have pieced it together through basic independent research. What stood out most was how quickly the visit moved toward a recommendation for custom orthotics, before I felt the underlying problem had been thoroughly explored. I walked out feeling brushed off rather than evaluated. The billing experience is what truly drives my rating. Patients at this office are required to sign a form accepting full responsibility for verifying their own insurance coverage. When a claim from my care was later denied, I received no assistance from the practice in navigating the appeal. I researched the appeals process, gathered the documentation, and fought the denial entirely on my own. It was time-consuming and frustrating, and for a patient with little or no insurance experience, I believe it would be nearly impossible to manage. In my opinion, shifting the entire insurance burden onto patients is an unprofessional and increasingly common practice, and this office has fully embraced it. Many comparable practices employ a billing specialist or insurance coordinator who helps with verification, prior authorizations, and appeals, and I would strongly encourage this office to invest in that role. Until then, prospective patients should understand they will be entirely on their own with insurance matters. The two stars are earned by the support staff. They were reserved and not especially talkative, but they consistently tried their best to assist and were genuinely helpful within the limits of what they could do, and that effort deserves recognition.
