Just delicious My son had the whole bronzino which came with a side of rice and spinach. All amazing I had skirt steak cooked perfectly rare. May have been one of the best steaks I've ever had. Came here for dinner with family while shopping nearby. It wasn't a particularly busy night but the service was still slow which was unfortunate. Only reason for the 4 stars is because most of our meals were good. The pita dips were nice as was the fried calamari. The seafood linguine, paella, branzino and risotto were pretty tasty. Super cute Greek restaurant in the same shopping plaza as Big Y. They immediately sat our party of six, and the server was very polite and personable. The food was amazing. Best spanakopita I've ever had. The falafel dish was delicious but the almost creamy texture of the inside threw me off. I tasted a bite of the hummus and it was quite yummy. My dining companions raved about the roasted cauliflower, the burgers with the Greek cheese (I forgot the name for the scrumptious, melted cheese), the fries, and the eggplant parmigiana. I also enjoyed the cinnamon baklava that I took home. We were discussing eating liver and a man whom I'm assuming was a chef came out and gave one of us two little tasting spoons of duck liver from a local farm. Did quick take-out of a lamb and beef gyro! Simply the best I've ever had! And neat (if anyone cares!)! Ample amounts of meat with the perfect compliment of lettuce, tomato and diced onions. This is my third review of this restaurant. We've always liked this place but had not been able to go in over a year, due to personal reasons. We went back last week. We still love it. We met the owner,Dino, who was extremely hospitable and welcoming. Our server was very attentive. By some people's standards, their service might be considered slow. Many restaurants start out well but decline over the years but Greca just keeps getting better. We visited last night and had our best meal there ever - fabulous new items on the menu including a sensational smoked trout appetizer and a fun pumpkin terrine. The moussaka has had a huge upgrade, from a so-so little metal ramekin to a delicious hefty slice cut from a big dish - the best I've ever had. We would go there just for the loukaniko, which is simply the best anywhere, and the baklava cheesecake is to die for. Lentil soup was a nice surprise and much appreciated as well. Service was perfect! Ambiance perfect! Food was great minus one issue, the shrimp saganaki and the shrimp in the risotto was definitely frozen and not fresh. You could taste the freezer burn. I'm not a fan of using jumbo shrimp as they are more chewy to begin with, despite this texture they just tasted bad of freezer. Everything else we had was phenomenal and we even ordered a pizza to go. The zucchini fritters were top notch! The grilled manouri cheese great! The cinnamon soda amazing! The seafood risotto minus the shrimp awesome, I'd also do without the sausage (very dry and grainy). Mussels, clams and steak pieces were perfect as was the rice. The dessert i cannot pronounce and the espresso fredo was out of this world. The pizza was the best Greek pizza I've had in a long time and would definitely get again. They paid attention to exactly what we asked for as we enjoy extra cheese and lightly baked which is often like a cheese slide avalanche. Another five star visit to one of our favorite restaurants, Greca. Today's visit was extra special because we attended one of chef/founder Dino's cooking demonstrations. Not only did we get to sample and learn how to make a variety of Greek dishes, but we got to learn the history and origins of Greek food. Dino's passion for food and family drove the demonstration. It was evident how personal each of his dishes are to him. We also were impressed by his chef Dell and how effortless he made the food preparation appear. We continue to be impressed by all Greca has to offer! The cooking demonstration is well worth the visit, very affordable and about 3 hours in length. read more

I was not expecting much from a restaurant in a grocery store shopping strip, but I was shocked by how nice it was inside and the quality of the food. There were tons of gluten free options (I never get to eat fried calamari) AND probably the best tzatziki I have ever had in my life. We've eaten here for years and though we have not always been completely enamored with the food we've tried in the past (via several pandemic-era takeout orders and a pre-pandemic lunchtime dine-in experience), a recent visit left us happy. Service (from Dennis) and several dishes were extremely strong. A whole grilled branzino ($38) was flawlessly fresh and flawlessly prepared with crisp, grilled skin. It came with half a lemon and spanakorizo (boiled greens and rice). With the simple preparation, the fish truly shone. Lamb ($37) was grilled medium rare as requested and came on a bed of lemon potatoes and cream or yogurt-enriched sauce -- all nicely prepared. Although there was a component of the dish described as "falafel mash" on the menu, we didn't notice anything that fit the description. The "Gyro Carvings" plate ($21) was quite impressive in presentation, served on an enormous board with meat, tomatoes, onions, Greek fries and feta, and pita in separate piles. The gyro meat was comparable to what one would find at any gyro stand in NYC, which is not to say it wasn't enjoyable, but it was low brow and very processed. The ramekin of thick tzatziki and the Greek fries it came with were excellent. A children's menu offering of souvlaki ($12) was good, smarter than average for a children's menu option, quite substantial enough for our needs -- though we couldn't resist a comparison to a recently consumed version at Meraki in Armonk. Meraki's version was much larger, balanced with vegetables, filled with tender, juicy meat trimmed of tendon and toughness. Greca's included some gristle and no vegetable matter. Oh -- the starters. Roasted beets with skordalia ($11) were straightforward and good to fair, made with golden beets over garlic-infused potatoes (which strongly resemble Peruvian causa). Brussels sprouts ($14) were nicely roasted, but a touch soggy, tossed with plenty of Gorgonzola and drizzled with a balsamic reduction. I want to build quorum to try the dips next time. Based on the tzatziki, they seem promising. A dessert of ekmek kataifi ($10) was really, really good. I don't have that much of a basis for comparison (the last time we had this was probably three years ago), but we all very much enjoyed the cinnamon-topped milk custard and whipped cream, a wonderful textural contrast to the honey / syrup soaked shredded phyllo base. We had a bottle of 2021 Nemea (appellation) Agiorgitiko (grape) from Lantides (winery), which was an unusually deep purple -- very pretty -- and had a nose of ripe red fruits and mushroom. It's not a sipping wine (e.g. I wouldn't want this on its own), but was quite lovely with lamb, gyro, gorgonzola / feta. It stands up to strong flavors. We are blessed with a number of good Greek and Mediterranean restaurants in our lives. I'm so glad Greca is here for us in New Milford for I am surely coming back for that fish. read more

I've been to Greca twice, and this is where the 4 stars come into play. Dinner - Greek salad (can never go wrong) and a mushroom pasta. Both were fantastic! Lunch - I can't remember what we had. Eek! I was so excited to try the place as they were voted as the best restaurant by some Connecticut news magazines. We went to the place around 3 (definitely not a peak crowd time) and we were the only customers there. The employees were very friendly. We ordered a hummus pita, some vegetarian and vegan dishes (falafel platter,zucchini keftedes) , some spinach rice (this was so mushy) and some chicken dishes. The food was average. Wow. So not what I was expecting. This restaurant received Connecticut Magazine's best restaurant awards and nods, and got other positive reviews, so a lot better was anticipated. The meal was a train wreck from beginning to end. First, waited several minutes (and I do mean several) until someone came to the host station. While being seated, I noticed that almost every table where others were not seated was dirty and had not been cleared. The waitress was very kind and apologetic, saying they were severely understaffed. This made me wonder why the host or anyone else was not helping to clean off tables. Now for the food. A long wait for just a drink and appetizer. My glass was dirty. The falafel appetizer, while crisp on the outside, was uncooked on the inside. (I don't like my falafel bone dry, but I also don't expect its inner texture to be that of mush either.) Meanwhile, some regular comes in for only a cappuccino and gets it served right away and is out as quickly as he came. A different server to mine came out to greet and serve him. This server was not attending any other tables. (Again, why was this person not helping to clear off the dirty tables?) The salmon was horribly overcooked. Like burnt in a corner and dry kind of overcooked. $32.00 for a plate of overcooked salmon? Just no to this place. Just no. There was nothing redeeming. I don't care how understaffed. I have not had much Greek food, this place is definitely at the top. We decided to get takeout and wanted something different than the Italian, Chinese or sushi we are used to. Greca is located conveniently on route seven in the big Y shopping plaza. Plenty of parking. The staff is very nice. We didn't eat inside, but the dining room looks very nice and comfortable. We both got a Gyro. My wife got everything on it, I got mine without tomatoes. I also went light on the Tatsuki sauce. The meat was full of flavor and shredded nice and thin. The pita was very fresh and held everything together. The french fries actually surprised me. Very crispy and delicious. Just wish they had been a little hotter. Wonderful lunch! Greca is a bit of a hidden gem, tucked away next to The Big Y and with an unimpressive entrance. The interior is warm and welcoming with delicious food and excellent service. Ordered the lamb sandwich for pick up. Had to wait 27 minutes even though the restaurant was slow at 3 PM in the afternoon. the sandwich wasn't bad there wasn't a lot of meat and for $14 I expect more. Asked for extra tzatziki sauce, which I paid for, but wasn't really there. sandwich was only lukewarm. Way too expensive for what was promised, and what was delivered. Greca is one of those places where I can state this plainly: if you can go, absolutely go. If you have to drive a little extra, still go. If you are thinking: I can get great Greek in NYC, I'd counter that by saying that Greca's food rivals and surpasses virtually every Greek restaurant in Manhattan. Greca is worth the drive from the city. And most of the Greek in Queens is not bad but not as good as Greca. This is a fantastic restaurant. It is also a grown-up restaurant and while I'm sure children can eat there, I appreciated the grown-up menu and vibe. My advice to folks that want to bring your kids: save it until they can appreciate the great food and atmosphere; 15 years old and above. Our server was attentive and provided feedback about our food selection. She was professional and made a difference in the experience. We sat near the bar and it was busy. The food was better than outstanding. I've had falafel in 6 different countries and 10 different states over a period of 45 years. This was the best, hands down. Humus and pita, also absolutely outstanding. We also had the Eggplant and Kalamakia. The Kalamakia was just one of the best renditions I've ever had of skewered chicken. Why? Incredible ingredients brilliantly prepared. Outstanding cucumbers, fantastic cheese. All fresh components that were picked with a focus on the quality and flavor the food. And the presentation and portions were both 100% spot on. And it stands out, the food definitely made a statement. I've only had comparable quality of food (where I was blown away by the quality, uniqueness and atmosphere) in Plaka, Greece. What makes a lasting impression? Unique flavors of foods that I thought I knew or understood. Unique texture and also top-quality, extremely fresh and well chosen ingredients. The falafel from everyplace I've gone in Queens tends to taste like a fryer. It was very clear that there was a deliberate process for cooking this falafel. This is a restaurant that really cares about details. For desert, we had the ekmek. Some Greeks recommend this as a breakfast food. Had it many times. Again, this ekmek was by far the best I think I'll ever have and I've really never had a bad serving of ekmek. This was just so much vastly better, it would have been worth going to Greca just for the desert. The way the pastry on the bottom was articulated with the honey and as well as the overall flavor from the milk-custard and almonds just crushed it. Highly recommend this place. I tend to look at a restaurant after I spend over $100 for my family and I to eat there (the next day). I know going out is not inexpensive and I am glad to be able to afford this once in a while. But it has to be worth it. Greca is worth it. It is a welcoming and warm restaurant that is expertly run with 5 star food. You won't get anything close unless you go to Greece. read more

Hidden gem!!! Stuck in strip mall. I passed it by so many times despite people telling me it was great. And boy are they right! So stylish, so fresh, such a good menu. I really enjoyed my meal here! The restaurant came recommended and we decided to stop on our way home. Good cocktail options, which tasted great. We had the flaming cheese appetizer which was delicious and so cheesy! I had a spicy chicken sandwich for lunch. Wasn't spicy but had a good coating and I liked the feta spread. My fiancé got a fish ball special which looked tasty. The baklava was really decadent and some of the best I've tried! They also gave us a dessert shot which was a nice bonus to the meal. (Although I never got my tea lol) He made our night extraordinary beyond how wonderful the food was. I obviously can't say enough about Greca. What an awesome dinner we had last night! We started with two appetizers that we split, one was a shrimp and a delicious tomato creamy... The other was a sausage. They were both so good... For dinner I had the skirt steak and my friend had the moussaka. She has much more experience with Mediterranean Fare and was thrilled with her meal.
