Stopped in for the first time for lunch after seeing the reviews on Yelp. I asked for their recommendation and they had stuffed peppers with roasted potatoes and a Greek salad that day so I decided to go with their suggestion and I have to say, it was very tasty. I also ordered the hummus with pita and that was really good too. It came with two good sized peppers so there was enough for left overs the next day The people who worked here seemed very friendly and the food was ready fairly quickly. The only two complaints are the tall prices: a gyro with wedges, and a greek lemonade including added feta cheese is 30$ YIKES. my second complaint is that it is somewhat inconspicuous and easy to miss unless youre dead squat in front of the store. I was really disappointed with my experience. The gyros were very light on ingredients -- just a few strips of meat that was over cooked, with little to no tzatziki, onions, and tomato. I'm used to a full hearty gyro with lettuce, plenty of tzatziki, tomato, and onions. Normally I can't even finish a gyro, but this time I was left hungry. For the price I paid, it was very disappointing and honestly made me sad. I probably won't return, even after they open the new location. The dolma was good, but it was clearly from an imported can, so nothing special or made in-house. Overall, not worth the cost for what you get. It would've been better if a small Greek salad or something was provided with the gyro. I got two gyros, dolma and an extra tzatziki and spent over 60$ to stay hungry. Not terrible, just nothing to rave about. The service had a very "Greek taverna" vibe--direct, maybe even brusque. Solid neighborhood spot. I enjoyed the gyro pita but felt like the portion was a bit small for the price. The potato portion was massive and nicely crispy and seasoned. The pita with spicy feta was large but not to my taste. I want to shout out how delicious soft and hot the pita bread was. I don't know if they make it in house but it's the best pita I've ever had. We've tried them several times to give them a chance as they worked out some kinks and producing a menu (which took over a year). Several things were good, the special gyro was very over-salted....but the last few times I couldn't get past the smell of mens cologne that was all over the outer packaging that transferred to the food. What a terrific find. A friend suggested this place when we were visiting Bethel. The food was wonderful. Had a gyro sandwich; gyro platter and a chicken platter. All were terrific. Came with a great salad with home-made dressing and generous portion of excellent feta cheese. Portions were all very large. Brought enough home for at least one lunch tomorrow! Stopped in for lunch not knowing what to expect. What we found was an incredibly varied and delicious menu. The 4 of us all ordered different things for lunch & additional dishes for takeout for dinner. All were particularly delicious. There were 3 main choices for dessert specials & we took them all, including the best baklava & rice pudding ever. All dishes made from scratch with ingredients imported from Greece. Yumm!
