I used to come here often for the chicken souvlaki Greek salad. Unfortunately, on my last visit, the chicken was undercooked in the middle. I took photos and called the restaurant to let them know. They were very apologetic and offered to replace it. I couldn't return the same day, but when I went back the following week, they honored the replacement and the quality was much better. Great Greek restaurant tucked away in a plaza. I've eaten several times from this restaurant and each time with no disappointment at all. Typically order the chicken gyro dinner with lemon potatoes. Both items are made perfectly. The restaurant also has a sizable dining area; however, I notice they do many take-out orders over in-house dining. The staff has always been super friendly and fast service. TLDR - this is a diner pretending to be a Greek restaurant. Just go to the diner and you won't be disappointed. Restaurant is colorful and fits the expected "look" of a Greek restaurant. Bathroom was really bad. Looks like the bathroom hasn't been renovated in 15/20 years. Everything in the bathroom is grimey and fixtures are barely held in place! Silverware looks really beat up - they gave us a fork with extremely bent tongs that could injure someone. The first thing that hit me was how large the menu is for a "Greek" restaurant. It's basically a diner menu due to the number and variety of food offered. And similar to a diner, there is zero chance the majority of this food is cooked masterfully or even fresh. It's just not possible to stock fresh ingredients for the large number of dishes they offer and not have it all go bad every week. We stuck to the actual Greek items on the menu and everyone struck out except for me. The appetizers we ordered were all terrible - saganaki - not appetizing. Zucchini fries and calamari - both obviously prepped from frozen and caked in the lightest dusting of non seasoned "breading" which was just there to absorb frying oil. Zero flavor other than the marinara sauce it came with. The calamari were just the strangest I've ever seen! So limp and thinly sliced and such a sorry sight. Appetizers were all duds and a waste of money. I honestly don't know how they serve these appetizers with pride or even a straight face. On to the main courses - i must say the chicken kebab dinner is actually very delicious. Well seasoned chicken and rice with generous portions of all ingredients. The other entrees were not good. Gyros were extremely dry as was the moussaka. My father in law is a chef and he suspects the moussaka was also prepped from frozen due to the texture, lack of flavor, and dryness. Everyone's meal was miserable except for my entree which tasted pretty good. I believe we were served by the owner - he was not very warm, but also not rude. Just seemed bored to be serving us. Later on a woman who may be his wife came over and spoke with us. She was extremely friendly and warm - honestly she was able to somewhat salvage the experience with how nice she was. We've come here for take out, lunch, dinner, and even brought our whole family here for special occasions. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and the restaurant is clean and well kept. My go to here is usually the chicken gyro platter, but I've had a variety of their other dishes too and no matter what I try I really enjoy it! Greek restaurant located in a strip mall in Holbrook, Long Island. Plenty of seating inside. Dated decor. My co-worker and I were craving Greek and we didn't feel like driving into Queens. So we found this spot which is somewhat local and off we went. When we sat down, the server brought over a plate of pita bread with whole chickpeas. I've never been to a Greek restaurant where they don't serve you pita bread with tzatziki sauce. Hmm..perhaps pita bread with chickpeas is a Long Island thing? O_o At least mash it up into hummus for us..loll Anyways, that was awkward. I ended up ordering a plate of tzatziki sauce for an extra $7 and eating the pita with that. For apps, I had the charcoal grilled octopus and for entrees, I had the pork souvlaki platter and she had the chicken souvlaki platter. Food came out at a good pace. My octopus came out first. Delicious! The octopus earned 1.5 stars of this review. Tender, good flavor, not too much lemon-flavor, not overly burnt. The other 0.5 stars is for the service. The entrees unfortunately, were poorly executed. My co-worker seemed to enjoy her chicken souvlaki platter. My pork souvlaki though, was very greasy and some pieces were way overcooked. Also, about 40% of my meat was actually pieces of fat. Disgusting! I'm definitely not returning here. This place is a joke. Maybe it's good for the area, middle of nowhere Holbrook. Great for take out, but don't sit down...here's why!! I walked into the restaurant for lunch with a friend, there was plenty of parking and wasn't too busy. I sat down and enjoyed the complimentary chick peas and pitas. But it was so weird!!!! It was the quietest restaurant ever! I could hear people chewing and the kitchen talking. It is a small restaurant with no music and basic tables...which makes this a take out space. However, you definitely need to get take out from here!!! The food was so so good! Delicious chicken gyro! Perfect greek salad with tangy dressing. But the homerun is their tzsakiki sauce. It's the greek god of tzsakiki sauce. I nearly licked the bowl clean! Flavors were very authentic, tons of onion and oregano. I can't wait to have their food again....just next time will be on my couch with some Netflix! read more

When I first moved to Holbrook 11 years ago, this places was great. The food was always delicious and the owner was wonderful. Then something happened and it happened before Covid. Everything started to go downhill. They've had new owners for a while now and it's never been the same. The new owner is always there, but he just sits at a table reading the paper or watching TV. He doesn't help out....at all. The waitress won't smile unless you're... well, a male. So tonight, Friday night, I decided to order my usual take out of Greek salad with grilled chicken. I hadn't been there in a long while but I was hungry. Got my order and when home. First the pita bread. It was wet and soggy. I think maybe they nuke it before they wrap it in foil...inedible. The salad...the black olives looked like they had been chewed already :( Mushy looking and falling apart. I didn't eat them. Some of the lettuce was brown. The cuks weren't much better. The chicken and the feta were the only saving grace. For $17.00, if they can't make a decent salad or pita, which should be the very best as far as I'm concerned, what's the point. A diner would have been a better option. 2 I won't be going there any longer and my prediction is maybe a year or less and they'll be gone. People don't want to pay their hard earned money for crappy food any longer. read more

Take out gyro was a joke... thick pces of meat and nothing else and as a platter was not even a handful of French fries which looked decrepit and a side salad was placed in same tray with hot food which was just as gross made with a sparse amount of stale lettuce in the same tray as hot food. The lemon soup was unremarkable, bland and had a faint taste of being burnt. Salmon was sooo salty couldn't eat it , lemon potatoes were cold and lack luster and vegetables were bland. This place is close to my place of employment so I'm glad it's convenient enough when I get the hankering for their grilled octopus. When I asked the man behind the counter to break down the pricing (no receipt had been offered), he became hostile and threw a dollar on the counter to placate me. I ordered take out last night of my favorite thing from here... the charcoal octopus... but first it was not prepared as it usually is, it was a higher charge than I was expecting from the menu here that I saw.. and worst of all .. the octopus had obviously not been cleaned properly before it was cooked, as there were inedible hard pieces.. which of course caused me to throw out half the food. My first visit to this establishment will be my last. I was craving the flavor so of the Greek Islands and sadly I did not find them here. I gave this restaurant two stars because I enjoyed the house wine. From there, things went down hill. We ordered both the hot sampler, 15.99 and the cold sampler 13.99. When we were seated we were provided some sliced pita wedges and a dish of chick peas in a watery broth, not much in the way of seasoning or flavor. We were served the cold sampler: runny tzaiki, six small olives, with pits, four grape tomatoes and about six half slices of cucumber. The best thing on the plate was the fish roe dip, probably straight from the jar. The pita was warmed nicely. The hot appetizer was worse. The octopus was chewy and mushy at the same time, strangely flavored and NOTHING like the Greek isles. The spinach pie was mushy and lacking feta cheese. The baked clams Athenian style lacked on major component, clams. Tasted exactly like the spinach pie just served on a tin...hence no clam at all! The meatballs were not Greek meatballs at all! Holy grease! My co-workers and I ordered a Greek salad, keftedes balls and their house omelette. This was some of the greasiest takeout food I've ever had. The worst part is that through the greasy greasy mess that was my omelette was gyro meat that was pretty tasty, and honestly wouldn't have been half bad if it wasn't swimming in oil. I have gotten Greek salad with grilled chicken from this place for several years. It's always easy make a call and get the salads delivered for dinner. I'm very particular about the chicken I eat so I was happy to find a place with good chicken!! I don't know what happened but this is the third time the chicken was terrible.
