    Phyllo Feta Bites
    Meri L.

My fiancé and I ordered DoorDash from here, so I cannot talk about the service. But I can talk about the delicious food! For an appetizer we shared phyllo feta bites. They were so delicious! Pieces of feta wrapped in phyllo and topped with a honey drizzle. It tasted like a zeppole with cheese. The appetizer was very generous in size and was more than enough. For my entree I had chicken souvlaki. It was very good and was also a generous portion. The tzatziki sauce was delish! My fiancé had lamb gyro for his entree. He enjoyed as well! Definitely adding this to our rotation!

Nice clean place but there were no paper towels in the restroom.... service was ok.. they were really nice.. food is ok. We ordered 3 items. Chicken was dry.. fries was very oily. The salad was good but has no lettuce or any type of greens at all but the one who got our order said it has... so some difficulty in communication...but there was no wait so we were able to sit right away.

This establishment was fantastic. The flavor was amazing and what I'm most glad for is how close by they are to my home. Sam, who I believe is the owner's son, was really friendly and accommodating and treated us with kindness and a ready smile. We stopped by this place after reading about them in a Patch article that offered information about their establishment. Since we knew it was a newer locale, we were eager to give them a try. One important note is that the kind of cuisine they offer adds a flavor and a style that is not prominent in Patchogue, which diversifies the area. I love it! When we arrived, they were overwhelmed so it took a minute to get service. Yet, they were apologetic since they were understaffed and, in the end, the meal was every bit worth the wait. The soup was delicious. The meat succulent. And the wine options very tasty! In fact, we had a conversation about some ideas I thought might be good for the restaurant as far as their bar and website are concerned (like doing a wine flight given their awesome dishes that could make for excellent spread platter accompaniments to wine) and he was totally receptive to the thought and get the bar area hopping with more customers. It's refreshing to be in an establishment that is willing to have a dialogue with their patrons. The establishment is nice, cozy, and inviting, and I highly recommend you give them an opportunity and try them out. I certainly will be coming back to have some excellent eats.

Our friend have been raving about this restaurant and we finally went with them. From the mezzes (appetizers) to the mains to the desserts, we were FLOORED! The Gigante beans and feta in phyllo dough were amazing. The Manitou outstanding. The lemon potatoes I have no words for. The spices used are delectable. The ambience and care this family brings to the dining experience is top-notch. After having been to Greece 18 times, the food here matches or surpasses anything we've eaten! Don't forget dessert - the rice pudding is like none we ever had and the custard pie - oh my!! Oh, and we had plenty of leftovers!!! Thanks so much.

What a nice addition to Patchogue. The restaurant has a nice ambience. The service was great. The food was great. I had the lamb shish kebab. The lamb was very juicy. The tzatziki sauce was very good. I had lemon potatoes and rice with it. The lemon potatoes were good. I had the chocolate lava cake for dessert. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Curious as to why La Tavala closed, but we had high hopes for Mena and were excited to see the updated restaurant. I was shocked to see that they actually cut the dining room in half. There's only 6 tables in the new dining room area which I don't understand. Are they trying to make it more intimate, trying to make it look more full / harder to get into? I truly never saw a restaurant "down size" their main area as an update. The portion they sectioned off had one large long table for private parties for about 12-15 people. The section that was normally the sunken down room, was just currently a storage area, which was actually one of the cooler areas to dine in there. Big miss on the renovation. The food was good, solid options for restaurant week. I did ask to see their regular menu, and was underwhelmed with how limited the options were. There weren't many more options than what was offered for the restaurant week menu. Anyone that ate at La Tavala knew how expansive their menu was, so it's a big change. Appetizers: Burrata: 2/5 the bread was not that good and the Burrata was tougher than expected Arrincini: 5/5 these were amazing Pizza: 4/5 this was the spicy pepperoni which had hot honey drizzled. Would have been 5/5 but it had too much cheese on it. I never complain about cheese but it is not as enjoyable on thin crust Dinner: Spicy Rigatoni 4/5 solid dish, good portion Dessert: Pistachio Gelato: 3/5 S'more Pudding: 3/5

My Dad was chomping at the fucking.bit to hear some jazz tonight and as a result, we found out about this place. One of my favorite things about visiting nOLA is the jazz and I almost feel like it's the twilight zone that i can have the live Jazz experience in my home town. Not only that, but everything about our experience, start to finish, was amazing. They enticed us with the live jazz outside..As all of their tables were taken up, our initial strategy was to sit at the bar and hopefully be able to hear the music from inside. Not only did they have a whole band INSIDE the bar playing for those patrons, but we were given the choice of them literally building us a table outside. You can't really go wrong with either choice but due to the absolutely perfect weather outside and my mother's panic phobia about covid, we elected to sit outside. They straight up brought a table and four chairs outside for us to enjoy the band playing outside. The temperate fall air and lively Jazz is an ambiance that is few and far between. We had initially planned on just ordering drinks but were selling what we were buying and dropped a few food menus and had us eating out of their hand. They legit had MOZARELLA FRIED ZUCCHINI B LOSSOMS, some delicious vegetarian ravioli, arancini, and honestly whether you're into steak or farro and kale salad, they can push your.buttons, Both of my parents ordered a spring-roll-like appetizer, one with salmon and one with veggies (extra brownie points for the vegetarian option). My parents some how missed the fact that they were ordering from the appetizer menu and were disappointed in the portion size but absolutely adored the dish. . Even though I talk up and down for about 99% of the time about the fact that I'm "on a diet now" I'm actually full of shit when it comes down to the wire and I absolutely could not resist ordering their fried mozzarella zucchini blossoms which were enveloped in a delicate but delicious outer crust with creamy cheese and zucchini blososms. They were served with an orgasmic tomato sauce with a little touch of pesto. The food was the perfect complement to the musi. They have an interesting cocktail menu as well. I couldn't resist ordering their Frenesi with tequila, lemon juice, cinnamon syrup, apple bitters, hard cider. This was served in a cocktail glass with little floating (what I'm assuming is cinnamon fits that almost looked to be sparkles. It was such a beautiful drink and had such a unique flavor. GF initially ordered the All That Jazz with rye, calvados, Demerara syrup, peychaud's bitters,, ango bitters, and up in smoke however we were informed that they did not have all ingredients to make this drink. She went with her second choice, the Jam Session with bourbon, lemon, stone fruit syrup, peychaud's orange peel, Brandie's cherry. I tried this and as a strong bourbon drink, wasn't my immature palate's favorite but I appreciated the combo of bourbon and fruit flavor. Our server was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was as excellent as it could possibly be. My Mom was literally obsessed with him and couldn't stop commenting on how well he was taking care of us. Huge shout out to that man right there. I'm so excited that this place exists and GF and I have already decided to keep the local taxi on speed dial for further visits to this place. PS-sorry if this is filled with typos but I was literally too lazy to wear glasses while writing this so I am just typing and hoping for the best.
