I stopped in for lunch and loved how clean and quaint the store front is. I ordered the chicken gyro bowl with quinoa, feta, olives and chick peas. The wait was short and the food was incredibly fresh and very well made. It was one of the better chicken gyros that I've had, it was clearly roasted and seasoned perfectly. Their tzatziki sauce is creamy and very delicious, a perfect compliment to the savory bowl that I got with my choices that were saltier (olives and feta). I love that the portion size was large enough that I had it leftover for lunch again the next day. If you're in the St. James area, I would highly suggest checking this spot out asap. read more

Yesterday was the first time we've been here and I do like the decor inside. It has a few tables with a very clean, white splash decor reminiscent of Greece. Also there are few small tables outdoor as we saw someone ate outside with a dog. The menu was quite straightforward to follow. I got a lamb and beef gyro which was about 6 inches long for $13. My wife had the chicken souvlaki platter for about $22 which she paid $3 upcharge for a gluten free pita bread. The worker inside told her that the gf pita is good and doesn't have that weird texture bite and she was correct. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the meat was definitely moist along with the pita. Nothing tasted like that sat for awhile. When my wife suggested Greek tonight I wasn't too excited. A previous job I had used to get catered lunch sometimes and whenever we got Greek it was very dry and there was always plenty left over. I saw the great reviews for this place and I live super close so we decided to give it a try. Pretty much everything was great. I had a shrimp yero bowl with rice, which was pretty tasty. I was really surprised by the zucchini and eggplant chips, I wasn't expecting to like them, but I gave them a try. They are better than potato chips for sure. Very light and crispy. None of the food was too heavy or too dry. My wife loved their tzatziki sauce. We go to the Greek fair every year and really like all the fresh food they make there. This restaurant was even better than that. Definitely worth a try if you are nearby or in the mood for Greek food. read more

I'm not exaggerating when I say this Avgolemono soup made my day. I'm pretty sure I saw the face of God somewhere around the third spoonful. Delicious, comforting, lemony perfection. I came in hungry and left emotionally attached to a bowl of soup. 10/10 -- I will be thinking about this soup for an unreasonable amount of time. Pure Magic and I've never had anything so unique. ESP the Lamb platter-- this was my absolute Favorite! It had plenty of lamb meat, pita and the most insane Lemon Potatoes I've ever had in my life. This was enough food to feed me TWICE. I'm a HUGE lover of tziki sauce and I'm also extremely picky. If you can't make a good tziky sauce, then I ain't visiting! This sauce from Yeros had it all... the fresh dill, the cucumber slices -- I know Greek food and this was done right This also comes with a HUGE side salad which I find to be a meal in itself! The Rice bowl--- WOW! This portion was ALSO enough for two meals for me. The marinade in the Smokey tender Chared chicken shows!! How did it take me 5 years to find this place. I will never eat Greek anywhere else. My daughter is vegan and they have so many options. The first time I got The general OMG! They say don't judge a book by its cover and boy are they right! Yeros frankly knocked my socks off. My family eats Greek food at least twice a month and on an afternoon back at my parents house, we decided to give Yeros a try. This place is frankly a small storefront in a strip mall; decor is a bit sterile and could use some refreshing. The food though? I really think it's the best take out style Greek I may have ever had. Normally, a good place for Greek food. Yesterday late afternoon, ordered pork souvlaki and lemon potatoes. The potatoes were very good. The pork was a major disappointment! The pork was a combination of meat that was cold and mushy in texture, and some pieces that were burnt, dry, and inedible. Totally out of character for this place. read more

Ordered off of uber eats and wasn't expecting much but it was the best Greek food I've had on Long Island! My girlfriend is Greek (currently living there) and I go there often so I have high standards and I was pleasantly surprised. I can't say anything about the storefront or service, but I would love to go check it out in person one day. The pita from the gyro was soft and fresh and the meat was delicious! The phyllo with the spanakopita was so flaky and good even after delivery. I've only tried those two things so far, but I'm very excited to try more! read more

If you are looking for a great beef/lamb gyro sandwich, this spot hits so good. 12 bucks for a sandwich, and 2 more for extra protein, very fair! Food takes some time but I go when it's busy, so can't expect it to be ready super fast, and good food is rarely made quickly. Delicious lamb/beef , soft thin pita bread (how it should be), good quality toppings. I do suggest putting the veggies more evenly in the sandwich because it becomes half sided. I go here often, quality is consistent. They had a good chicken souvlaki that I tried once. I was in the area and noticed the greek name! Being Greek myself I had to come see what this place was all about. The business looks at every detail and cares because it shows! The store is amazingly adorable with Greek details and even the best wifi password ever! wont tell you what it is ;) you'll have to go to find out. There are plenty of options for food and it was prepared made to order! They also have a variety of desserts and sweets to satisfy your cravings. The first thing I noticed was large portions, nice ,then in ordering it was easy and they offered an array of options.. another plus. This place came HIGHLY recommended by a good friend so we decided to try it out the next day. First Impressions were all positive, nice storefront, super clean and new feeling. Friendly staff, 3-4 tables outside and maybe 6-7 inside. -"The General" 4.5/5, delicious. A great mix of lamb/beef/chicken/pork gyro with French fries, tomato, & onion. The tzatziki was amazing and packed with flavor. Some of the meat was little dried out, and it seemed to be slightly smaller than other gyros I've gotten but overall I was pretty impressed. -Chicken/rice bowl: 4/5, choose your rice base, a protein, and 3 toppings. This was very good, the chicken was nice and tender. The rice was a little bland but overall one of the better dishes like this we've gotten. Overall, I can confidently say this was some of the best Greek food I've ever had. Everything from the actual storefront to the food was impressing. Walking inside Yeros, it's not a full sit down restaurant. You order at the counter, have a seat and they bring out your order of tasty Greek food. Listen, we just came back from Tarpon Springs. Yeros is serving the same Greek platters we just had last weekend. Take for instance the Baby Lamb Chops. The Yeros Lamb chops are "better" than what we had at Hellas. My wife & walk up to the counter and start looking over the menu. We just had Saganaki and Skordalia last week so I ordered the Falafel with a side of tahini. The Falafel was perfect, when I broke open the Falafel ball, it was a bright green ball of Greek deliciousness. I could of just had this dish and been happy. The next time we come, I want to try the Spread Sampler. It comes with taramosalata, skordalia, tirokafteri. First time here, I'm trying their specialty sandwich. A sandwich inspired by Saint James General Store established in 1857. I love a historic sandwich! This sandwich is called The General. After my first bite, I wanted a 21 gun salute. They added all of the Greek proteins and wrapped it in a pita. Pork, Lamb, Beef and Chicken. It's the ultimate yērō, I highly recommend this sandwich. Ordered food through the Uber eats app for pick up and got the wrong meat with my platter. Was told there was nothing they could do and I would have to go thru Uber eats to get reimbursed. I didn't want money back I just wanted what I ordered. The correct protein. They said they couldn't happen. Why couldn't I just get an order of the meat? Everything else was correct and it could have been an easy fix. On a side note The feta on the salad seemed more like grated Parmesan than feta. read more

YIKESSSS in a GOOD way! In the BEST way! What a treat to have a "fast" Greek establishment so close to home. I tried it via Door Dash a couple months ago, and now have ordered at least 2x a month the standard gyro with an extra cup of tahini to pour all over. It always arrives so fresh, and tastes absolutely decadent. Fresh and rich - perfect Greek comfort food. The gyro is so big that I end up not being able to eat it all in one sitting, but that means more for later!!! Definitely give this place a shot! read more

Definitely the best Greek food option in the area. Their salads are decent and I love that they have an EVOO option for their dressing. Not a fan of the grated feta though- it should be in big chunks so you can taste it. Also the quality of the tomatoes could be better. They are one of the few places that offer the original gyro aka pork gyro. I like the French fries in the sandwich which is how they are served in Greece. Even the Americanized version of the gyro aka lamb and beef gyro is very good . They also have my favorite tzatziki because the garlic is not overpowering like at many other establishments. Their grilled chicken is made with ladolemono ( olive oil and lemon dressing) which again is the Greek way. This is the closest to authentic Greek food in the area. read more

This is a nice little Mediterranean spot, the staff were passionate about the food. I had a gyro. I'm obsessed with their mousaka bites. I wish I was in the are more, I would eat these all the time. Marvelous gem for takeout of Greek food. Food quality is rare for a takeout place; It's like being in Greece! Even the steak is top quality. The owner is hands on and it shows. He cares about the ingredients. Portions are very big and everything is consistent. They also have the most unique takeout boxes anywhere. Apparently, they import it from Greece. I know I haven't Yelped much lately but that's due to personal preference but I wanted to write a review about here. Yērōs is the new Greek spot in St. James. I promise if I go again I'll update my review. We ordered: 2 Tiropita Appetizers 1 Falafel Appetizer 1 Side Greek Salad + 2 Grape Leaves I have to say it was all just pretty good not solid but pretty good. There's another place I prefer and I'll probably give this place another shot to see if they improve. I hope they do because St. James does deserve solid Greek. I was a little bit disappointed that 1 of the 2 Grape Leaves was smaller the other. But such is life. The Tiropita though was definitely the star of the show. The Falafel tasted a little too overdone but such is life. Still cannot find the perfect falafel for me. lol I also am assuming that Yērōs is more fast and casual than other Greek places. But don't worry I'll be back to make my full assessment. read more

Recently ordered a big order and 4 of us ordered chicken souvlaki sandwich. When i ate it the meat looked pink. We called the place and she said its dark meat and the pink color is normal. They said they check with a temperature probe to make sure its cooked. No where on the menu does it say dark meat and ive never had a chicken souvlaki with dark meat. It kinda skeeved us out and 2 of us didnt eat it. Would bot order again. We did get the delivery fast read more
