I had lunch here today with a friend of mine from out-of-town and we both loved it! Pi-Rho Grill is a build your own meal kind of place. You pick a base (salad, rice, bread, etc.) then some spreads (tzatziki, hummus, harissa, etc.), then a protein (chicken, beef, lamb, etc.), then toppings (cucumber, quinoa, pita crisps, feta, etc.) and finally a dressing. There are so many different options. The price depends on the base and the type of protein you get. You can choose up to two types of spreads and you get unlimited toppings. You can also split your protein (e.g. get half chicken, half beef). I got the salad base ($10.25) with roasted red pepper hummus and harissa as my spreads (when you get a salad they use an ice cream scooper and give you a scoop of the spread). I choose half chicken and half braised lamb as my protein (there's no extra charge for chicken as your protein, but a $2 charge if you want the lamb. Since I got only half lamb, I was charged only $1 extra). For my toppings I got red cabbage slaw, quinoa (which is cooked in beet juice, so it's a cool red colour), crumbled feta cheese, cucumber, pita crisps, and tomato and cucumber salad. I got the yogurt dill as my dressing and asked for it on the side. When you get the salad base, it comes with a mini pita. I also got a bottle of water ($2). My salad bowl looked amazing. And it tasted amazing too! The lamb was so soft and melted in my mouth. It wasn't gamy which is a common complaint I have with lamb. The chicken was lean and had a nice lemon-pepper flavour. The hummus was creamy and smooth. The harissa was too spicy for my liking. The server said it was 4.5/10 spicy when I asked her how spicy it was. I think it's more a 7/10, but maybe I'm a spice wimp. The harrisa tasted good, it was just too spicy for me. All the toppings were fresh and delicious. I love mixing all the different textures and flavours. The yogurt dill dressing was really thick and tasted like tzatziki. It tasted great as a dipping sauce for my mini pita. Their bowls, cups and cutlery are all compostable. So pretty much everything you buy there will be compostable or recyclable. How cool is that? The staff were super nice and were patient with explaining to us how things worked there (since it was our first time). The restaurant is clean and modern. The Chapman Mills/Barrhaven Marketplace shopping complex really needed a healthy fast food option. All the other fast food options around are pretty greasy like pizza, burgers, corndogs, chicken fingers, etc. You can get a salad at Kelsey's but that's a sit-down restaurant. I guess you could get a salad at McDonald's or Wendy's but in my opinion it's so much better to spend a few extra bucks and build your own salad at Pi-Rho Grill. I hope they open other locations around Ottawa. I think they would do so well downtown. I am rarely in Barrhaven, but I think I will be going to Pi-Rho Grill every time I go to Barrhaven from now on. It's in the Chapman Mills/Barrhaven Marketplace shopping complex, so there is a lot of free parking. It's next to Sleep Country. Their website says that they are facing the Cineplex, but that is not entirely true. The building faces the Cineplex, but the front of the restaurant does not face the Cineplex. Look for Sleep Country. Pi-Rho Grill is right next door.

My boyfriend and I tried this place the other night. It was about 20min before closing. It was our first time there and we didn't feel rushed while we ordered and ate in. We both got the salad with the beef meatballs and I didn't think this salad bowl would satisfy my hunger. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors and all the different add ons. I would definitely eat here again when I want a fast, low carb (they also have rice dishes) and healthy meal.

We were happy that we did decide to give this place a try, as it was everything that we had expected, and more! When we walked-in, we were greeted by a young man, that asked if we wanted take-out or dine-in. We chose dine-in however, the restaurant was quite busy at the time so, we had to be seated at a table near the front entrance. Upon sitting, we noticed the iPad that was on the table for ordering. We were also given paper menus to look at, which was easier. Once we had placed our orders, we waited only about ten minutes for our salads to arrive, along with the hummus and pita bread. The salads were absolutely amazing; the bowls were filled to the brim with cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, olives, and feta cheese. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty, and that dressing, WOW; it was delicious! It tied the salad in so well, it was the best salad we had ever tried at a Greek restaurant. The hummus was also delicious, with heated-up pita bread creating the finishing touches. This hummus was definitely homemade, and marvellous! We even asked for an additional pita, as the one we had wasn't enough for the four of us. This appetizer was definitely a great start! Once our main meals arrived, we were pleasantly surprised at how large the portions were. And the homemade sauce on top of the rice was wonderful; I don't know how they made the sauce, but it was perfect with the rice. The chicken was tender, with the tzatziki sauce not being needed often due to the tenderness. The potatoes were huge, and deliciously spiced. The meal was massive, and we couldn't finish it all; definitely worth what we had paid for! Throughout the entire meal, the server checked on us, bringing us water when we had asked, and making sure we were well taken care of. As we were leaving, the owner/chef asked where we were visiting from, and if we enjoyed the food. This place was hands-down the best Greek restaurant that we've ever been to; down to earth family-owned, amazing food, and great hospitality. Will definitely be back, and would recommend that you all try it as well; you won't be disappointed!

After hearing some recent reviews on a Manotick Facebook group, we decided to give them another shot almost a year later. We used the online ordering system and our order was ready on time for pick up. I ordered the Lamb Souvlaki Platter ($26.95) and added in the comment section that I wanted the meat to be done medium-rare. It came with two skewers. My wife ordered the Keftedes Platter ($22.95), which she heard from others was really good. Each platter came with Greek rice, medallion potatoes, Greek salad and tzatziki sauce. The rice was a little more plain than we would have hoped, but it improved once we squeezed the provided lemon over top of it ourselves. The medallion potatoes had yummy dry seasoning sprinkled on top. Next time we will ask for more of that dry seasoning in the comments in the online ordering system because it was delicious, but not spread very evenly. The Greek salad was fresh and tasty with a good amount of feta and the dressing was packed on the side. The tzatziki sauce was thick and creamy. We also ordered a Pita Bread ($2) to go with everything. Now let's talk about the meat! Wow! We were impressed with both the Lamb Souvlaki and the Keftedes (4 mini meat patties). All the flavours and spices used were perfect, plus the cook on the meat was very memorable. We kept raving about the meat throughout the meal, savouring every bite. We would easily go back again just for how good the meat was! We're also curious now about how they would handle seafood like their Calamari Platter. The food is slightly more expensive than Cozmo's on Greenbank, but the quantity is fair and the quality is excellent for the meat.

I personally wanted a drink as well but there was nothing that really spoke to me. We started with the greek fries that came with a nice portion of feta cheese on top. It was so good! We also got the pita and 3 dips to share, and if you want additional pita bread its free "refills", for the price of $28 I really hoped for the size of the dips to be alot larger than they were. It was fairly small portions for that cost. We got the tatziki, spicy dip and the eggplant dip, they all tasted really good and also came with a side of olives which was a nice touch however I'm not sure how but the olives were HORRIBLY salty. I usually love olives but I couldn't eat these. Crypiot halloumi was alsoo great and gave me a caprese vibe to the dish. That was super helpful for choosing what I might like (4 out of 10 on the lamb meatballs was good for me). Checkout was quick and easy.
