I've also shopped at the Melissa location and think that one has a wider indoor plant selection, but this one is still very good, and since I live much closer to this one, I'm just glad it's here so I do t have to drive all the way to Melissa.. Green Acres does flats better than anywhere else we've visited. They offer 18 small cup annuals for around $25, same quantity of ground cover is around $35. We filled in our beds around the house with these small starter plants last spring and watched them fill in by mid -summer. They offer a wide variety of landscaping decor, tools, and other products, most of which seem to be priced higher than home depot or Amazon. We do a lot of idea shipping here. it's a great showroom and the plants in the back quarter are well maintained. Service is great. The check-out staff seem to all be experienced gardeners and have been able to speak in detail to us about how to work with plants we've bought here. read more

Green Acre Nursery in Irving, Texas, left me with an unforgettable first impression, though not for the reasons one might hope. Upon entering, I was immediately overwhelmed by a pungent odor reminiscent of cat urine. It was so overpowering that breathing became a challenge, and it was hard to imagine anyone choosing to linger in the retail space. I am a huge advocate for businesses that embrace having animals on site, as it often adds a charming touch to the shopping experience. The cat at Green Acre is indeed beautiful, but unfortunately, its presence has wreaked havoc on the retail space. The unmistakable odor suggests it has chosen the outdoor furniture as its territory, which detracts significantly from the environment--something that management ought to address promptly. Despite this unnerving aspect, I did spot an exquisite Alocasia Zebrina. This find was the shining moment in an otherwise unpleasant visit. Sadly, I didn't venture into their outdoor section, as the state of the houseplant area was disheartening enough. Many of the plants appeared neglected, with signs of overwatering and distress. It was disappointing to see such potential overshadowed by poor maintenance. If this Green Acre location wishes to improve, they could learn a lot from the Green Acres location in Melissa, whose plant manager truly excels. Her expertise and care are evident, and similar attention is needed in Irving to revive their plant offerings and overall customer experience. Overall, I wish I could grant a higher score, but the current conditions make it difficult to recommend Green Acre Nursery until these issues are addressed. read more

Can I just say wow!? This place is huge, which you can probably tell by the included pictures. I believe they must have literally anything you could ever want for your lawn and garden needs! High ceilings, pristine interior, everything inside is high quality. Biggest selection on virtually everything there, I have ever seen. They even have drip irrigation components, which I didn't even know existed! Given the quality and the quantity, the prices are not bad! I would highly recommend coming here if you're looking for something and haven't been able to find it anywhere else. Or, if you just want an exceptional place to shop for lawn and garden! Today, I attended a friend's birthday party at The Plant Bar inside of Green Acres Nursery and had an absolute blast!!! The fact that they even asked is to do this in the store is amazing! At this "party", each of us got to pick a pot of our choice and plants of our choosing to purchase, plant/pot, and take home. Parker helped us through this process and was extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, funny, and patient!!! He is awesome! He gave us all the insight we needed to select the right house plants and the right regimen for us to have the best plant parenthood success. Fingers crossed, mine won't die. I really loved the store and its offerings. They even had a make-your-hot chocolate bar in the nursery for customers. The staff is great and I'm so excited to come back to the nursery. Love this nursery, the store is always exceptionally clean and well organized. They always greet me when I enter and seem very helpful as I look around. The staff is great and when they aren't helping someone they are always staying busy and not standing around or just scrolling their phones. They have a ton of variety from plants (indoor and outdoor), to every kind of fertilizer and gardening tools. They have all the piping and fittings for irrigation a huge array of pots that are reasonably priced. They have all your patio and grilling needs as well. This place has become my one stop shop for everything outdoors and i highly recommend giving them a visit. read more

Inventory strong 4 Stars...but on our way out a few bits of ugliness prevented a five,5 Star experience. Think Callaway on steroids. Better yet..Callaway on Steroids that meets all your gardening and patio needs. One word of caution. You pay for the privilege of a lovely selection of healthy plants. Both in and outdoor varieties are plentiful enough to satisfy. On my way to the checkout I stopped at the large beautifully constructed and dirty restroom. Coming out I saw my third group of employees chatting. Put someone on bathroom duty also,I had to approach another group of employees to ask for help. Strike two . I'm sure the manager is familiar with the well used Tom Peters theory of management by walking around! Finally paying what I consider a slight premium at check out...the clerk didn't welcome us, thank us...zero...very disappointing. However,all that isn't enough to keep me away. I like the place. Wonderful selection of houseplants! They had some pretty rare stuff that was in excellent condition. I was super excited to find a mature Pink Princess for $200. I decided not to get it and instead opted for a string of turtles, string of pearls, and a really well established Hoya carnosa (VERY COOL). I purchased a beautiful Blue Atlas Cedar in March and sadly for some reason it quickly perished. The manager on duty, Stormy and the garden team helped me pick out a new Cedar and delivered it promptly the next day! They guided me on possible reasons for my original tree failing and suggested other areas. Their customer service and guidance was so appreciated! I found out about a new garden center in Irving via a Facebook ad and I couldn't wait to check it out! It's been YEARS since we've had a quality garden center in Irving and this new offering, Green Acres Nursery & Supply, did not disappoint! This place is beautiful and huge! Inside the store you'll find all of the organic soil amendments your heart desires, garden tools, patio furniture and a choice of cushions, grills, decorative garden accessories, hummingbird feeders and more. (There are also really nice multi-stall restrooms should the need arise while you shop for a couple of hours.) Outside there is a covered indoor plant area with orchids, bromeliads, air plants, snake plants, etc. The remaining outdoor area is a huge expanse of perennial landscape and bedding plants. They have absolutely everything you are looking for that grows well in our zone. Also outside is a huge open greenhouse area with flowering annuals and perennials, as well as succulents. It's breathtakingly beautiful! I am a lifelong gardener and truly appreciate this gem making its new home in my town. Always room for improvement so 4 stars. One cashier wasn't particularly friendly, she may have been at the end of her shift but it was enough to stand out. Luckily, on my way out a another sale associate made up for the poor customer service when he asked if he could help me carry anything to my car. WOW- Irving so needed this nursery! This new store is located in the same complex as The Dump. The front of the store is quite deceiving because the outside nursery goes far in the back. Whatever plant you may be looking for, they probably have it. Tons and tons of plants, trees, herbs and vegetables/fruits starters. I have been searching for a rosemary plant but to no avail. After a while of looking, I asked a very nice employee if they had any. He was friendly and took me way in the back of the lot to where they were located. There was an abundance of employees who were super helpful and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Something else I noticed was how healthy the plants looked- they definitely take care of them. Forget Home Depot- this is my new favorite nursery! read more

I do have to say that this place is pretty awesome! It's like the Walmart of plant stores. It's huge and the prices are the cheapest I've seen in the DFW complex. We saw Japanese Maples for $45 that go for $135 for the same size at Calloways. 1 gallon plants from $5 to $10. 4 inch pots for $1.99. They have them all sectioned out in specific areas lined with concrete walkways with shade mesh overhead to help block the suns heat. The building that is onsite is the size of a grocery store, houses fertilizers, grills, patio furniture, irrigation supplies ... most everything you could use outdoors. Staff was more than helpful, there were quit a few roaming about. Wife got caught up inside where the houseplants were at, found a lot of Alocasia's that she hadn't gotten yet, like some alocasia called a Squid. Looks like a dead plant to me, but she marveled over it. I onto other hand had gotten some items for our landscaping as we are putting in a Butterfly refuge for the migrating monarchs. Really nice place. Definitely will return. read more

This doesn't help someone new to plants. The flowering plants purchased from Green Acres, Irving, TX, have all died within 3 weeks. Just called Green Acres and rep states nothing they can do, they don't guarantee their plants, only trees and shrubs. Very disappointed, on fixed income, and purchased the majority of plants from Green Acres this Spring. Only purchase plant varieties that I have had proven success with; and for every type of plant purchased from your nursery to die that quickly is RIDICULOUS. My patio/porch will look pitiful this year; except for a few plants purchased from other stores that are healthy and thriving. All other stores back/guarantee their plants when the issue is this blatant. Only reason giving 1 star is you have a large selection. I bought a shrub that was recommended by merchant for deep shaded areas. I bought three in total and one died within 90-100 days. I attempted to return and possibly exchange but manager Jordan stated that the return policy is 90 days. The receipt I have on hand does not state the 90 day policy and I never got a notice of their policy. The manager stated that it looked like the plant needed more sun but that's exactly opposite of the recommendation I got from them when I bought it. Comparing to other nurseries, i.e Calloways who stand by their product regardless of time, I am very disappointed with Green Acres and will not be a returning customer. read more

This nursery is all that and more. I went to buy some replacements for my flower bed for what I lost in the winter storm. I really wasn't sure what I wanted so asked for help, guidance, recommendations, whatever. Guy was my guy and he was the best. After looking at the nurseries around Plano yesterday, I decided to make the trip to the newest nursery in the area in Irving. I was very pleased with the large selection of healthy plants. I was assisted by Andrew who did a fantastic job of not only suggesting ideal plants for my containers, but took me around the (very large) store to show me where everything was and gave me suggestions on how to pot them for great effect. I'll definitely be back out here regardless the trip. Andrew made it worth it. I can only hope that the company gets a closer location in Collin County. read more
