During the most recent snow/ice storm I requested service. in the area most people are dealing with icy roads/driveways due to freezing temperatures and lack of supplies. This company refused to pull in my driveway in their VAN. I made arrangements for them to park in my neighbors plowed yard the next day they refused to walk on the ice to service my home. The tech guy waited in his van for about 15 minutes then left no call or anything. I tried calling back 3 separate times no answer when I finally called from my husband's number someone magically answered. While I'm not at liberty to put anyone's safety at risk if this is an issue that you have had and you witnessed my street/ road conditions why not just decline the service instead of making me continue to wait only to be told after day 2 that you can't service me. And the only concern you have is that you have had 2 technicians come out to waste time and money. Nevermind the fact I have no normal heat running. Horrible customer service and lack of communication!

His technician had previously evaluated the system, Chris came back out, and we discussed moving forward with the replacement. Chris told me he had upcoming dates available and that they would need to start early in the morning. I then asked him to send the contract, equipment information, warranty details, and price so my mother-in-law could review and sign everything and we could be prepared financially. We never received it. Over the following days, I called and texted multiple times trying to get an update. I continued giving him the benefit of the doubt because he had been referred by someone we trust. I even asked whether everything was okay and told him that if he was too busy or unable to take the job, I completely understood. I simply needed to know so we could make other arrangements. I still received no communication. What makes this particularly frustrating is that my wife is pregnant and we have four children at home, so getting the HVAC situation resolved was important to us. Had we simply been told that the company couldn't take the project, I could have contacted another contractor much sooner. I understand that contractors get busy and schedules change. That isn't the issue. The issue is committing to move forward, discussing available installation dates, and then becoming completely unresponsive when the customer asks for the contract and pricing needed to proceed. I hate leaving a one-star review, especially for a company that came through a personal referral, but after numerous attempts to communicate and no response, I would not feel comfortable recommending them.

They have always changed out the filter for me for free as long as I purchase the filter materials. However the last few times dealing with this company has been absolutely horrible. On 2 separate occasions I have had to call the office because an outrageous bill was sent to me listing services that I did not request and were not performed. Mind you the company is less than 7 mins from my home, and it only takes the worker approximately 9 mins at most to change out the filter as I am here at home while they are doing it. The first bill I received was for $140 worth of charges of which they apologized saying I should have never been charged anything. The latest bill was for $91 of which I called over there explaining to the gentleman who answered the phone and was extremely rude and condescending saying, " we had to come out there didn't we? " I advised him if he looked at the times they have come out they have always done this for free being that they installed the system, and as long as I provided the filter. Im not sure if the gentleman at the office was new or just didn't feel like looking up the information but again he was extremely rude. I checked with 2 other local companies of which one is in downtown Richmond and they even advised if its a unit their company sold and installed that is typically something they will work into their schedule and just change while in route to another location. I was actually going to see about having Adams install a new HVAC in the future but after these last few instances they have lost my trust and will now lose my business. I will be posting this also on other sites to make sure customers are aware of how this company attempts to charge for additional services that were not completed or asked for.

Lately we have been having issues with one room being 5-6 degrees hotter consistently than the rest of the house and have been told it was a dirty filter and possibly the ducts need to be cleaned. Neither of these 2 items are the cause of the issue. A couple years ago we had to replace a capacitor to the tune of $400. Quality is lacking overall I beleive. We also pay for annual check ups and they dont include filters in the cost. I have to purchase them and then usually have to remind them to change the filter. We paid for what we thought was a top of the line system and overall have been dissapointed in what we paid for.

Our AC stopped working but we were not urgently needing an AC replacement yet until my husband reminded me in the winter about how we needed to look into an AC replacement. We love our realtor so we contacted these guys (sometime in December of 2019) to look into a replacement. The owner was fabulous and was able to work with us on what we needed to get done. AND because we were planning on replacing our AC during the winter, it was great to get the order and service done. In fact, they came to check out what we needed to get done and then order the part and replaced our AC within 1-2 weeks. They were great and easy to work with. We had the AC stop working this past summer one of the hottest days during the weekend and we got someone come out here pretty quickly to replace the part and work with us. They did honor the service card that we received and was honestly done within 1 hour. Very fortunate for these guys and highly recommend them.
