Review. Pancake house. MAY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH INTERRACIAL COUPLES!!! Entering the establishment, we were greeted by an elderly gentleman with a thick, gray, handlebar mustache. Who barely said anything to us, not even a hello, how are you? Or Welcome? Although we felt it was rude we ignored it until we heard him greet another party in a much more appropriate manner. The service from our waitress pleasant and engaging. Food was average. With the help of our waitress, we both ended up with the daily special. When the check came, the waitress forgot to add coffee to the bill, which apparently does not come with a special. That was not an issue. The issue was how we were treated while checking out as if we were trying to get away with something. The man with a handlebar mustache or the cashier (who might have been a relative of his), did not even apologize for THEIR mistake and thanked us for coming. 12/26/2023: After Christmas breakfast with the family. My first time since the name changed. Regular diner look and set up with booths and tables. My heart was set on the Porkchops I usually order as I'm not a traditional breakfast person. Imagine my disappointment when notified it's no longer a menu item. Now the search begins to what will I eat. Under the skillet section found teriyaki shrimp with peppers and onions white rice Winner. Well seasoned, and flavorful, a bit salty but since I have reduced my salt intake everything is salty to me. Pretty unusual for me but I managed to finish my meal and no leftovers. As to my family they devoured their orders from burgers, crapes, pancakes, omelets, etc. As this is my Mom's spot she always ask for a particular section as she is faithful to a particular server. The ambiance looks like something from the 70's. Wouldn't have a problem if it was cleaned. The fire sprinklers are covered in dust. The waiter who didn't have too many tables never checked on us to learn we didn't like the food. My egg whites weren't fully cooked but the omelet was with the imitation egg. Using fresh strawberries would have taken this meal to an acceptable level. But Instead the soggy strawberries were disgusting. I'm really struggling to understand how someone could rate this place with 5 stars?! Maybe I missed something during my visit, but I doubt it. The restaurant is old. Like extremely old and outdated. The carpet looks like it was installed 50 years ago- no exaggeration! And unfortunately it's not clean at all inside. I saw so many things that grossed me out but I figured it had to get better, so I stayed. It did not get better. I went on a Friday around 11am and was promptly seated. The hostess was friendly and so was the clearly overwhelmed waitress. She went over the specials with us and recommended some of her favorite items from the menu. I assumed that pancakes were their speciality since it's a pancake house, but I was 100% wrong. The food was absolutely disgusting. Not only that, it was served lukewarm and half done. Powder eggs with imitation cheese is a combustible concoction for one to consume! The bacon was not fully cooked, the French toast was soggy and the hash downs were mushy and without flavor. The pancakes? Michael Jackson BAD!! The breakfast potatoes were the only thing that was edible. The prices are extremely low here, so I guess that's why the quality of the food is too! The staff are the only reason for my one star because they were all very nice and oddly seemed to enjoy working there. Sadly, I can not recommend this place. read more

I ordered to-go from this place for the first time today and I have to say the food was amazing! The pancakes were light and fluffy, not too heavy! The pancakes were covered with fresh bananas and walnuts which added a ton of flavor. I love that they have turkey products as well, the pancakes were purchased with a side of eggs, hash browns, and turkey sausage patties. Even more impression, I got this all for $15! First time coming here, great experience. I personally like iced coffee but they did not have it on the menu, the server gave me two cups of ice and coffee and made sure I was able to get it which I really appreciated. When the server was told the pancakes was cold his response was "I just brought them out". He did replace them, which instantly appeared again, this time warmer. Upon exiting the restaurant, one of our party was helping an elder using a walker put on her coat. The bell person physically pushed the person assisting out of the way to clear an adjacent table. He was laughing while wiping the table down. I informed the manager, who briefly said something to the employee. Then after he left the employee continued to laugh.
