This spot wasn't too busy for a Saturday morning--always a plus. The service was great and the food hit the mark. Great little spot! I came here to try breakfast tor takeout and it was a little crowded on the weekend and you order at the counter to-go or dine-in. The staff was very friendly and efficient. I wanted more, very good. Everything just felt like it tasted better and was deeply satisfying. It's hard to describe other than truly satiating and delicious. The service was good, and the people here are nice and accommodating. It isn't like more modern places, but that's part of the charm. Seating wasn't ample, but it was enough, maybe for 10-15 people, possibly less. The place itself was very nice, with simple, Jersey-esque decorations and a classic diner feel. The Blue Jay cafe is legendary. First and foremost, the owners are two amazing human beings. They go above and beyond in every sense of the word. The restaurant itself is the icing on the cake. Their menu is amazing and everything I've ever had from them is delicious (chef's kiss). From the Spicy breakfast sandwich to their crumb cake and their cannoli bread pudding muffins; it's all a delight. I make it an annual tradition to have breakfast with my family on my birthday and this most recent one did not disappoint. Had their special egg nog waffles which were delightful! The restaurant is very homey; feels like you're at the house of a relative you're always excited to visit and practically has their door open for you to visit any time. Order ahead by phone or online for pickup during busy hours to avoid the rush or just drop by and grab a seat and hangout! read more

This is in the same spot that Dan & Marianna's was in. I was in the area and thought I would check out the new place. When I walked in at 11:30AM on a Saturday, every table was occupied. I decided to go with something simple - a pork roll and cheese on a kaiser roll. The sandwich came with four slices of pork roll and three slices of cheese. The inside is a lot brighter than I remember Dan & Marianna's being. If I still lived close by, I'd be back to try their other sandwiches. read more

I came here for the first time to pickup lunch I ordered online. And the chicken soup was delicious! It tastes just like my mom's homemade chicken soup. I'll definitely be back to order this. The homemade peanut butter brownie was also delicious, it's not rich in sweetness, it's light and definitely able to finish the whole brownie because it was that good. Great local little cafe, I want to bring my kids there for breakfast to try out, hopefully it won't be crowded on the weekends bc it is a small spot. This place has the potential to definitely expand. I am rooting for them!! read more

I came here after visiting "Smoke This Way" next-door. This place has some of the BEST desserts I've ever had in New Jersey. The Guy at the front register was very kind , patient, and easy to talk to. He explained a lot of the foods / Desserts to me and gave me a physical menu. Once I sat in my car and tried my cake, I could sworn my eyes started rolling to the back of my head because of how good it was. I think I discovered my favorite food spot next to my favorite smoke shop. 10/10!!! read more

I love Blue Jay Cafe. Now... I've had a lot of chicken salad in my time, but they have some of the best chicken salad I've ever had. Ordered on DoorDash. The Baja sandwich is excellent. Probably the moistest turkey ever and it is paper thin. Truly great overall sandwich. Sausage breakfast sandwich and Taylor ham breakfast sandwiches were also very good. Took a star off because the crispy chicken cordon blue sandwich had a burnt taste. Cutlet was dry and dark brown.
