I thought I was the only one noticed how bad this company is. I work at a DDS facility and one of our clients takes Green Cab with me. Most of their drivers are RACIST, RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. They wont even let you sit in front. Cars are smelly and dirty, just like their attitude. Im not saying all of them but trust me, a lot of them are mean and bad at driving! Booked with them thinking that they are a green cab company with a fleet of hybrid cars, like the picture on their website. They were about 15% more expensive than yellow cab but I thought I ll do my bit for the environment and decided to use green cab. I was really surprised that my cab was a big old Lincoln!! This defeated the entire purpose of using "green" cab. The service wasn't bad but the name is totally misleading. I arrived in San Jose around 9:30 pm and took a Green Cab from the airport to Newark. The driver was unfriendly and very quiet throughout the ride while driving me through Oakland (he claimed he could not find my destination and had to use his personal phone to locate it) tho he completely ignored the directions his phone was giving him as he drove me all over the area! I became so frightened (I'm a 74 year old female and was alone in the cab) that I started trying to call my daughter to let her know where he was taking me, and had to leave cryptic messages in case I never arrived. I felt like I had been kidnapped and felt very frightened. Over an hour later we arrived in Newark and he kept driving past my daughter's subdivision and acting confused as to how to get to her house, though I had given him the address at least 5 times! I finally told him to stop the car because the meter (which was at $15 when I got in was getting close to $100)! By then it was late at night and after a 7 hour flight I needed to use the bathroom, I wanted to get out of the car and run, I was so scared. I asked him to turn his phone back on and get directions instead of continuously driving around (at one point he tried to take me through another subdivision that I told him was not my daughter's). When we finally arrived he said I owed $77.80. I tried to pay with my credit card but he said his internet was down. I only had $60 so I gave him that, tho he wanted more, and had to ask him repeatedly to take my luggage out of the car so that I could go inside and use the bathroom. Even after I came inside he continued to sit outside the house! This was such a frightening ordeal I am having trouble sleeping and eating. I will never take another taxi! read more

Reserved for 12:10 driver didnt come out until 12:57. The totally fare is 148, Driver told me there's a 5% charge if pay with credit card maybe around 160ish. I called the hotline and turn out there's no extra charge to pay with credit card. His boss called n ask why he tell customer there's a 5% charge on credit card. He said he never n claim that the total is 148 and I wanna pay 145. Ridiculous !!! Total scam!! Will use uber next time read more

Last night my husband called to book a ride to the airport for 4:45 this morning. By 4:50am no cab had arrived. He phoned and was put on hold while the dispatcher tried to contact the driver. After a 5 minute hold, he was told they were short on drivers and would send a cab in 10 minutes. Still no cab at 5:05am and his flight was leaving at 6am. So I crawled out of bed and drove him to the airport. Not nice ! We will not use GreenCab again . read more

Booked a taxi to go to the airport at 5am on Thanksgiving day the day before. They never showed up. When we called them they say the phone number we gave them did not work. Pure lie. I had the misfortune of using this cab company today, I did not have a choice as I was leaving from the airport (SJC) and this was the next one that pulled up. Will definitely avoid from now on. Unfortunately I did not get the cab number, but the driver was rude and didn't offer to help with luggage upon arrival or departure, and dishonest...see below. The meter showed $33.60 when he parked at my destination but he took the liberty of rounding it up to $34 (yes, it's 40 cents but the number on the meter is what should be charged). When I presented my credit card he complained about me not having cash (mumbling about how it charges him fees, hello - this is 2014 and every cab I've taken have accepted happily accepted cards) yet he DID have a machine to run the card. After grumbling and pulling out the card reader, he without a word or turning around extended his hand for me to give him my card. Rude. He ran the card and gave me a receipt to sign, and when I returned it and asked for a copy, he said the card was declined and didn't give me a copy. I gave him another card to use and I don't know if he swiped it BUT will definitely check my other bank statement because the first card DID go through as I see a charge from Green Cab SJ on my statement. Reading the reviews it seems like a common practice amongst the dishonest drivers of this company. (I hope this a**hole didn't charge me twice.) Now, I have to deal with the corporate accounting branch of this company (hopefully they are not as terrible to deal with) so I can get a receipt to get reimbursed as this expense was part of a business trip. Our experience with this cab company last night is why I will always use Uber from now on. The Green cab was at the front of the taxi line at SJC last night when we needed a ride home to Santa Clara. The driver never said one single word to us. He didn't open the door. His name and license wasn't displayed anywhere. We asked him to take Coleman ave to Hedding and avoid the freeway, but instead he took the onramp to 880. He exceeded the speed limit many times, never used his signal and still never said one single word to us. Never again. read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Dirty cab, rude driver... why do airports enter into exclusive arrangements with cab companies? No competition lets businesses like this survive. I needed to get from the airport to the train station, so I walked over to the cab stand. There was a sign explaining the $15 minimum fare, and that major credit cards were accepted. We got our cab, the driver helped load our luggage, and then we drove off. When we got to the train station, I gave him my credit card to pay the fare. The driver said "don't you have cash?" I told him I didn't and he got all pissed off, grabbed the card rudely and tried to figure out how to run it. It took 15 minutes for him to run the card, and he charged my card twice! He eventually gave me my card back and popped the truck. Didn't offer to help unload, barely waited long enough for us to grab our bags. Where do people get this entitlement that they deserve tips (and I *did* tip) without giving anything like even basic service? read more

I booked a cab with this company on the evening of 7/1/2012 for a pickup at my home the next morning. I had a flight at SJC with Alaska Airlines at 7:40 AM. My pickup time was 6 AM. At 6:10 I called the dispatcher and she indicated the driver would be at my house in 5 minutes. Since I couldn't wait any longer I took my car to the airport instead. I left my house at 6:15 and the cab still hadn't arrived. Since I didn't have enough time for long-term parking I had to use short term parking which cost me $154 versus $40 for the roundtrip cab fare. Don't use them for time critical pickups. read more

I had a driver give me his card to call him for a ride, I did the day before a ride, not knowing this person I got nervous when I couldn't get a hold of him that very day, so I called the green car cab and asked them what it meant when you couldn't get a hold of the driver and they didn't help with that, they said do you want us to send you another driver, so I had 2 drivers show up at the same time, I offered to pay the other driver, I would have paid the same as I would for any ride, he said no. But when I needed a pick up from them from my appt. I couldn't get any driver to come, it was very upsetting, I called the cab place because I thought I would miss my doctors appointment, this was two weeks ago, and when I finally got another cab from a different place the driver took all side streets to my house, and now I will stick with Lyft. read more

It seems that I'm not the only one that thinks the drivers from this company are a danger on the road. There have been several incidents I've seen on my daily commute to and from work that involve this cab company. There are countless times I've seen their drivers cutting others off, speeding through stop and go traffic, etc. During my morning commute today, on 101 northbound at the 87 interchange, a Green Cab (cab 535 license plate number 8Z98417) cut across 4 lanes of traffic without a blinker, only putting out his hand and speeding thorugh. He cut off drivers in all 4 lanes, including me, to get into the carpool lane. As we were stuck in stop and go traffic, he kept speeding up to tailgate the car in front of him only to stop quickly when he got too close. His back window was tinted so dark that his brake light was barely visible, so much so that I didn't even realize he even had one at first. This is an accident waiting to happen. I have already filed complaints with CHP, City of San Jose's Traffic Enforcement Unit, and written into Mr. Roadshow from the San Jose Mercury News. It needs to be known that these cab drivers are terrible before someone gets seriously as the result of their terrible driving. read more

This can was at the front of the line at the airport so we took it. I'm used to riding in cabs and took plenty of them from San Jose this was my first experience with green cab. First they are more expensive then any can I've ever taken before the guy was swerving all over the place honking his horn at his buddies, on the freeway he was revving the engine like crazy. I needed to take a Cab from San Jose Airport to Santa Clara University which is a 2.9 mile drive. I normally use uber which costs 10-12 dollars for this but decided to take a Cab to try it out. The Cab driver was extremely rude and chose to take a route that would total more than 5 miles making the fare 22 dollars which is ridiculous. When I got to my destination, the driver refused to accept a credit card which he is supposed to accept. The receipt he gave me was blank and did not include any information about him or the trip. I also told him to have a good evening and he did not say anything and just grumbled. Also, the check engine light was on in their car which is a safety hazard for customers. This is extremely disappointing and poor service. read more

Like most other reviews. My experience is with can #306. Short fare from the airport into downtown. Then when it's time to pay he starts bitching because my credit card doesn't have raised numbers for him to imprint because it apparently still 1980. Demanded another card, I told him no and to figure it out. Another 5 minutes and a call to the office and it's resolved. Only took the taxi because there were no Uber cars available. read more

This cab is pehaps the best cab company in San Jose or in the area the services all the towns in the vicinity. The drivers are clean polite, noligable the cars are clean. And they are environmental friendly oh they get you where you need to go pdq. I don't see anything wrong with that, and they are the carrier for Medical so they have a conscience. Fabulous people they are. Too many times with other services I was asked how to get there... What if I am new here... I had to take a cab from Terminal A (San Jose Airport) to Atlantic Aviation which is on the other side of the airport. I understand this is a short ride - the driver put in a flat fee of $15.00 for what is essentially a 2 mile trip. I know drivers hate these short trips and that they have get back in queue at the airport - however - it is a rip off for anyone needing a short trip. read more

The worse experience ever, even worse than Apache Taxis in Phoenix! The Greencab driver was rude and inexperienced driver while the car was dirty with lotsa stains and broken handles. I reserved online for 12:50pm pick up to catch a 2 o'clock flight. My place is only 10min from the San Jose airport. It was 12:58 pm already and the cab was nowhere in sight. I called the cab company and it took a few more minutes for the dispatch to tell me that the driver was coming from Palo Alto and that it will be 10more min of waiting. I asked her then what was the point of making a reservation? Her reply was "well, the driver is coming all the way from Palo Alto!". It was obvious right then that this wasn't going to work and worse yet further argument would've put our entire trip on jeopardy. At that point, my fiancé immediately started walked towards a near by hotel lobby where she asked the concierge to have a cab arranged from another cab company. Thanks to my fiancé's quick thinking, we made it on the plane. Of course, we were also lucky that there was not too much crowd on midday Thursday at SJC. Had requested a cab to the airport well in advance (previous day). But the cab did not arrive even after 20 mins past the reqested time, the next day. Customer care woman gave a cliche reply that the car broke down (seriously? you could have atleast come up with a more creative LIE). When i was expressing my concern about getting late , the woman bluntly cut me off saying whether i wanted the next available cab or not ! So rude....... Well, guess what , even the next cab did not make it on time. I then had to drive myself to the airport and miss my flight. Horrible service. I took a cab from the airport to my hotel. The driver promised to pick me up the next day for an appointment and didn't show. I found out later he wasn't even licensed to drive people in the area. When I called the company, they said they would send someone out. 25 minutes later when I called to find out why no one had shown up, they informed me that they were having trouble finding someone licensed in the area. No wonder, I'm not sure they have licensed drivers for the area. I wonder how long they would have "searched" before giving me a call. When I asked them to cancel the cab, they just hung up on me. Needless to say, I was late for the appointment I had scheduled to attend early. If it came to using this company or walking, I'd rather take the trip on foot. read more

If I've got the right company, the cab was on time to the minute - pulled right up to the townhouse parking area, and assisted with the luggage. I appreciated the punctuality. Very bad communication. Driver didn't know the address I indicate. As he did nothing I asked him if he wanted some instructions. He said yes. Driver wanted only cash instead on the receipt it is mentioned you can paid by VISA and Mastercard. I didn't want to let tip because exasperated but driver even didn't give back money. I have used SJ Green Cab several times in the last two years and found them to be very accommodating. The most recent occasion was in late September. Before that it was early morning, mid-July. #502 was a few minutes early but I was ready. He was very courteous, made polite conversation and accepted my cred card graciously. I've not had any problems with reckless driving or poor customer service. I will use them each time they do a good job. read more

I am a guy - can live with it ie on a sunday. Car did not appear to have AC - a problem if hot day * Phone person - she was kind of snooty. Also, told me Fair starts at $3. If only Yelp had an option to give zero stars. That is clearly what Green Cab deserves, one star is a generous offering on my part as a customer. This was by far the worst transportation experience of my life in the United States or abroad. First, the unhelpful airport employees on the curb hurriedly forced us into a green cab, while not answering our questions about the price. After we were in the cab, we repeatedly told the driver that we were mistakingly placed into his green cab (as opposed to a yellow cab), and that we wanted to get out. We told him this immediately and repeatedly. He kept nodding and saying ok, but still kept driving. Eventually, he finally pulled over after much persistence on our part, and had the audacity to charge us $15, even though we wanted him to pull over when the price was less than $5. This was a total hustle and sleaze job all the way through. I suggest that no one ever use Green Cab in their lifetime. Walking through a field of unrestrained pit bulls with meat shanks attached to your body would be a better transportation option than this one. Also, don't be fooled by the "Green" in "Green cab." Apparently, Green Cab thinks it is contributing to an environmental revolution by using the same fuel-inefficient taxi cars as yellow cabs, but merely painting them green. Bunch of hustlers. I cringe at the thought of needing a cab from SJC. On the last trip, I asked the driver to take a credit card before stepping into the cab. Arrived at the destination and the driver claimed that the card is not working and demanded cash, refusing to hand me back my credit card. I exited the cab and called the dispatch number on the side of the car at which point he gave me my credit card back. Also ran the payment over the phone with the dispatcher and ZERO TIP. Don't let these drivers scam you - just call the number on the side of the cab when they try to pull the "my card reader isn't working" line. Absolutely unprofessional. read more

I highly do not reccomend their taxi services. I was on 101 northbound going to work to at 7:40am on 1/31/13. We were stuck in heavy traffic. A taxi cab driver decides to push his way through in front of me without enough room to squeeze in and he almost hits me and I almost hit him. I hit my horn and he kept on pushing until I backed off and let him in. He proceeded in the next lane and rolled down his window and exchange words with me. He was driving very unsafe. He had 3 passengers in the cab. They hire unsafe drivers. His taxi cab number is 1540. If I didnt have to put stars on them there would be no stars. I called Diane the manager that same day and at least called her 3 times at the most and she has yet to return my call. They have bad customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT USE THEIR TAXI SERVICE IF YOU WANT TO LIVE. read more

Wow... Just took Green Cab 596 from the SJ airport and accidently left my phone in the cab. Tried to get his attention before he left but he didn't hear me. I called Green HQ and explained the situation. Driver called me back and told me it would be $20.00 to come back. I agreeded and he returned within 4 minutes. I remineded him that I had given him a $6.00 tip for a $20.00 fare. I gave him the $20. but also told him what a piece of S..t he was for changing me. We exchanged explicid unpleasantries and then he swong a seatbelt / buckel at me and let me know he could kick my butt. What an a..hole!!! I use them to go to dialysis and when I'm done they make me wait almost an hour before I can go home and after treatment I just want to go home and rest because I'm so tired but no I have to wait another 45 minutes to get picked up.
