I was really looking forward to visiting this place because of how close it is to my home. I was very disappointed. The customer service was horrible! I awkwardly waited for 10 minutes at the register before someone even made eye contact with me and I practically had to ask to pay for my carry out order that was sitting right next to the register. The prices were fair. But they should've charged me far more for the amount of garlic that they put in our meals. I'm fairly certain there was $20 worth of garlic in my sandwich alone. I love a great garlic taste, but this was overwhelming, to the point where my husband said I smelled like garlic the next morning even after I brushed my teeth three times and took a shower. No thank you! A trip to Dearborn is likely in my future. read more

Diamond in the rough... this place is delicious! I'm not complaining, but they could charge a lot more for their food - you'd pay more for a combo at a fast food place these days!! Everything I've had is great and very fresh - perfect tabbouli and hummus. The guys there are always flying around busy during the lunch rush but they're still really nice to every customer (everyone is "brother," "buddy," "honey," or "sweetheart"). This is our favorite middle eastern cuisine take-out place! The food is excellent. We have got their food many times and have never had a bad meal. Their hummus is absolutely amazing. We like to get it when we have company since it is always a crowd pleaser. My only negative feedback is that all of their take out containers are styrofoam. I wish they were more earth-friendly. This was already my favorite resturant but tonight after a 12 hr day at work in ordered two meals to pick up on my way home I didn't know my husband head taken my credit card out of my purse...I only had about half the cash to n pay for my meal. ..I was so embarrassed....they wouldn't take my money. ..they have me the food. ...and just said it's ok we'll take care of you! My husband and I LOVE Mediterranean food and were highly disappointed by this restaurant. We ordered the crushed lentil soup and vegetarian grape leaves. The lentil soup was horrible and did not taste anything like lentil soup from the MANY Middle-Eastern restaurants we have dined in. The soup had a strong vinegar flavor and was not pleasant to our palate. The veggie grape leaves had decent flavor but each grape leave was both hot and cold. This inconsistency made them difficult to eat and not pleasurable. We will not be eating at this restaurant again. For wonderful Middle-Eastern food in the Livonia area, go to Sheesh on the corner of Five mile and Newburgh. Sheesh also serves hot, homemade pits versus the cold pita served at Green Cedar. You will be much happier and not feel like you wasted your hard earned money. read more

The food is so delicious at Green Cedar - they have the best hummus ever and their sandwich combo with soup or salad, rice or fries, and a drink is such a bargain! The only bad thing is the wait for carry out is always long no matter how much time you give them before you pick it up. A 27% increase on their lunch special over the past 6 months.......sorry, but that is absurd. It is good but not great and it is definitely not worth an additional 27%. The lentil soup was one of the best I've had and the spices on the chicken shawarma dinner were superb. The Fattoush salad was spiced well with the right touch of lemon and spices. Highly recommend. Best Hummus I have ever had in my life. .Try their chicken and Hummus. WOW. My son doesn't like hummus but "this stuff is special", he said to his girl. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this little place. Yeah it's a small place, small enough that they remember you, and what and how you like your food. . I happen to think the food is outrageously delicious!! I have turned a lot of my friends on to this place and they love it also. I could eat their food every day if I lived closer. There are only three tables so I usually carry out. ok-best food ever! I am an Arabic food snob, as I have been around good Arabic food for years. There food is amazing. There is hummus could not be better, there garlic is unmatchable. I highly recommend there falafel delux sandwhich if you want to try something new. I live in Wixom/Novi and I wouldn't go anywhere else for yummy middle eastern food. This is the best middle eastern restaurant I have ever been to. I love it so much I would consider driving the 10 hours it takes us to get there to enjoy it! In fact we have actually bought the schwarma sandwiches, froze them, and reheated them once we got home (it works well to microwave to heat, then crisp under the broiler) and they were still incredible!! I also can't leave without the rice (just ask for the rice with almonds), an order of the best hummus, and their garlic sauce. I just had dinner there tonight. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich, bowl of lentil soup, small salad and a can of soda. Everything was delicious and all for under $10.00. Definately worth the time. Yesterday we ordered the Cedar Platter for a carry out. When I opened it up, in my opinion the order was much smaller then we previously ordered. Probably 5 previous orders of the same thing. I called the restaurant and expressed my opinion to the female that answered the phone. She basically blew me off. Apparently the customer isn't always right. Also, the fountain pop machine has been broken for 5 months or longer forcing customers to buy can pop. Fix the machine. We will be getting our food from another restaurant in the future. read more

I am absolutely in love with the food served at Green Cedar. The food is prepared fresh daily and as a result I can always tell! Also, I must say that I have an immense problem with the fact that Mr. Cornelius has gone so far out of his way to make Green Cedar (along with a couple other restaurants) look bad. Funny how the only "restaurant" (if you can even call it that) he decided to rate with five stars out of five is a Tim Horton's. All I know is that clearly some people have no idea what the definition of GREAT FOOD is.
