The food was absolutely amazing- the fish is very high quality with generous portions in the sushi. The staff if super friendly and the prices are some of the best you can find. It's takeout only, but there is a small area for you to wait for your order inside. I come here frequently! Super consistent, using this really as an opportunity to share updated photos of the menu if you plan on placing an online order. Staff is super kind I think only a few people work here so it's never too busy. There is technically no indoor dining however there are tables if you'd like to sit inside with your carryout, just no bathroom. read more

Great spot if you want a more simple roll. I wasn't a big fan of their las vegas roll, compared to sushi house this falls a few stars behind. The spicy mayo isn't so spicy and has a sweeter taste to it. They had some good rolls but they are definitely more simplistic ones. Been there many times. Food is good but their attitude has changed. Seems they get very upset when they are busy. Bad environment. Taking it out on customers isn't good. Menu is pretty expansive and they have pictures of every item in-store. We got livonia roll, pink roll, spicy tuna rolls, and salmon sushi. All tasted very fresh and were quite size-able. Prices (see menu I posted) are very reasonable. Mom and pop/family owned restaurant and they are not pretentious at all. They were happy explaining items on the menu. I've found my new go-to takeout sushi! This place just goes to show that affordable sushi can still be ridiculously fresh, well made, and taste delicious. This place is takeout only so my husband and I got takeout for date night and it did not disappoint. The wait for our food was only 10 minutes, on a Friday night, and we were wowed. We got the spicy tuna roll, veggie roll, pink dragon roll, and Livonia roll. The flavors were clean, bright, and satisfying. I haven't had sushi as good as this in a while- I cannot stop sing their praise. read more

I ordered 2 of the crabmeat rolls (no cucumber, sub avocado) and they were both very good! It was very cheap (under $10 for both) and it tasted like good quality. They only have carry out, no dining in, and im pretty sure this is family owned. The cashier was very nice and the cooks they seemed like hard workers. I ordered my take out at 7pm and it was ready in under 10 minutes. Overall great experience, I have, and definitely plan on coming back! read more

I was looking for a place between West Bloomfield and Livonia for good sushi! Found this place and decided to give it a try. This place is a great, the rolls are a very generous size with fresh fish. The size of each piece of fish on top of each roll was a nice size chunk. The prices can't be beat, the last time we were there we got 6 rolls for $45. You can't beat that, I do wish we didn't live so far away, but I guess it takes it a nice little treat. The woman that always seems to be there to ring me up is super nice and friendly. An absolute must when I visit the area! My favorite roll is the Livonia Roll ($7 as of Sept 2022) - the roll is packed with salmon and tuna with a pleasant crunch from cucumber and a burst of freshness from green onion. It's an absolute yum! And to accompany it, I ordered 4 pieces of salmon nigiri ($2.25 each as of Sept 2022). The nigiri was good - the salmon was fresh and the cut was pretty generous. The rice was a little on the tiny side, though, and it could use more rice.... But other than, this made a really good, satisfying meal for lunch. I'm super curious about their party trays though. It's a place you can order sushi, but it's not going to blow your mind. I was annoyed because their dining area closes a full hour before they do. So, even though we got there at 7:05, and they closed at 8, they insisted we take our order to go. Not a great policy, especially when the restaurant was dead on a Tuesday night. The menu is extremely limited in offerings and descriptions. I just went with a couple simple rolls. My friend got more elaborate ones. We waited about ten minutes for the sushi to be served. We were given a couple packets of soy sauce, but nothing extra like eel sauce or spicy mayo was offered. I forgot to ask. The sushi was okay, but not my favorite. The fish tasted fresh but the seaweed wrap didn't "chew" up very well. I would likely skip this place in the future. read more

Worst sushi I've had in Michigan and that an accomplishment with some of the options in Metro Detroit. I couldn't taste anything but rice, the tempura california roll was awful. People giving this place a good review have no clue what good sushi taste like. Sad I had throw away around 30 dollars of sushi but wasn't gonna eat that, even dogs stayed away. read more

I only started working in Livonia in mid September and ever since I went for the first time about 2 weeks in, I've become a regular. Since COVID started, they have no sit down, so there's really nothing to review as far as a sit down experience. But, my order is always correct and the food is good. I also love that they're open until 2:50pm for lunch. Some days I'm so concentrated on what I'm working on, the first time I look up at the clock may be past 2pm, so I'm glad they're open that late. I love their udon, green river roll (because it's inexpensive and with no cucumber), and their spicy salmon box. The prices are very reasonable. And the portion of the udon is huge. They also pack the noodles separately from the broth so it doesn't get soggy during transport. I love little touches like that, it does make a difference when it's time to decide on what to eat. Once I get back to the office, I will be ordering from there again. read more

Great sushi for great prices. Having recently moved into the area, we wanted to start finding our new favorite places to eat. We tried New York Sushi on a whim, and were delighted at what we found. Not only are their prices excellent, but their sushi is fresh and delicious. NOTE: In the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls, the fish itself is spiced. If you want spicy mayo, you have to ask for it. This is our new favorite spot! They're always ready so fast, and the sushi tastes so fresh each time we've been! The firecracker is a family favorite, and they have small rolls as well if you're feeling something small and plain. Each roll is huge, too. Highly recommend this spot! There is not a maki sushi roll over eight fifty in this joint. That is for a giant ass roll, other giant rolls start at around six fifty. Small maki is two seventy five to five bucks. Nigiri runs a buck apiece. I felt it was fresh and tasty. I watched it made by the owner himself who made perfectly set sushi. This stuff stood up to my clumsy chopstick work even. Not huge variety here but what they do make is very nice. Eat this, close your eyes, it does not taste like the price. You are getting your deluxe style rolls for almost half the price you pay elsewhere. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Tuna works, salmon is beautiful, eel is in lovely slices, tempura shrimp is super fresh and veggies are nice and crunchy. It is a small place, not glam. Clients seem to be most likely to be picking up some takeout but if you come during a lull it is not a long wait or anything. Very mom and pop, friendly and serene. The nice lady who served us was very welcoming and attentive. It felt like you swung by someone's house. They really care about making you happy. They truly appreciate the response to their food too. I love places like this! My mom wants to return to get the hwe dup bop, a big fave of hers. I saw an awesome looking bento that made me go hmmmm too. New York Sushi is in the middle of nowhere in Livonia run by a lovely Korean couple. Husband makes all the sushi and his wife is the waitress. Yup, only 2 people working and the place does get busy. So the service can be little slow sometimes but they are doing their absolute best to keep customers happy. First of all, most of the Nigiri Sushi is only $1.00 such as Salmon, Izumidai and shrimp!! It's not typo, it's only $1 dolla! I just couldn't believe my eye when I saw it. I know I have small Asian eyes but I have a good eye sight :) California rolls are only $2.50 so does, salmon roll, tuna roll, and crab meat roll. Avocado roll and cucumber roll are $2.00. Sushi quality? It is REAL GOOD. Definitely more than decent. Always VERY FRESH! Trust me I'm Japanese and I'm a cook myself. Salmon nigiri is one of the best I've had. YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE! They have delicious home made spring rolls too! The best Spring roll I've had in my life. They make it and store in their freezer, so it can be hit or miss... I mean, once in a while, the core of the spring roll was still icy lol. Don't worry, it's fully cooked. Just not fully defrosted. Inside of the restaurant is pretty small and very clean.
