We bought a used Chevy SUV at Green and generally had a great experience during the purchasing process. The salesman was great. We got a great deal and are super happy with the car! But... Not long after we brought it home it broke down. Bummer, right? We were really frustrated with the prospect of paying for a "new to us" car to be fixed two weeks after we bought it. But, one email to the general manager of the dealership, and he called us within ten minutes. He was truly concerned about us walking away happy and with a good impression of Green. ASHLEY When we purchased this car we were told it had half tire life left. While bringing it in for it's first oil change we were told all 4 tires seeded replaced because the alignment was off which was ridiculous because the car hadn't been driven that much and should have been properly aligned when purchased. Then the vehicle was basically sitting for a year because I had health issues and couldn't drive. A couple months ago we got a nail in a back tire. We brought it in a couple weeks ago to have that tire replaced and was told that the other back tire (which is basically brand new) also needed replaced because of it was cupped due to bad alignment. This vehicle hasn't been driven hardly at all so it wasn't from normal usage. This car has something wrong with the suspension or something because the tire wear IS NOT NORMAL. And now there is something wrong with the electrical system. This car is a 2019 with low mileage and we have already replaced 5 tires, NOT counting the tire that had a nail in it. Now it is sitting in our garage with the check engine light on and will not start. This is a 2019 Jeep Compass that we paid around $25,000 for less than 2 years ago. It's a lemon. We have put around 8500 miles on this car since October 2023 And I never said we spent $10,000 on repairs. I said that is what we will be out if we trade it in because the trade in value is low. read more

I wish there was a "no star" option. Avoid at all cost. Salesman, Chase Haage does not seem to know the concept of honesty. After multiple emails and texts, he never forwarded the information to the appropriate people, but lied and said he did. He claimed the car was detailed before I picked it up, but the vehicle barely had an exterior wash. The interior windows had not been cleaned and the interior had not been vacuumed. After the purchase, Chase seemed to have been so bothered at me holding him accountable that he installed my rear plate (with the registration sticker) in the front thinking I would not notice. When I asked him to fix it, he claimed he was not thinking. The rear was even worse: he installed my front plate upside down. Of course this time, I had to tell him I need to watch him install it to make sure he got it right. Even after it was agreed that they owed me a part that was missing, Chase always claimed it was someone else's fault that it was never sent. I finally included the finance manager and received the part almost a month later, but was missing the clips to install the part. They are hopeless. If you're thinking it is just the salesperson, think again. The finance manger claimed they had to run my credit report for me to purchase the vehicle even though I was dropping 20 grand and had a check for the balance to pay the vehicle off. Fortunately, I am not stupid; they did not run my credit report because I refused to give them the information to run it. Mind you, I did not purchase a $10k car, I ended up dropping over 100K. This place is the epitome of a shady dealership. Avoid this place at all cost. It is sad to think there are some reputable dealership out there, but places like this make all car buyers weary of trusting any dealership. read more

Do not waste your time at this place they lured me in with a truck priced at 30k I test drive it and they went back to run the numbers and came back with a payment that didn't add up. When asked for a breakdown that 30k truck jumped to 40k (after rebates even) when I said that's not what you advertised they claimed it's a mistake and they don't control their website. Had I not spoke to John Jasberg the day before I may have believed that but the lil puke wouldn't even bring me the keys back to my vehicle he had someone else do it cause the spineless coward screwed up. If I could give this place less than 1 Star I would..where do I start.. I took my car there for a recall on my key. They take my car to the back, bring it back out. My engine cover is gone.. then a couple days later my ignition goes out. Have it towed back. Long story short. They tell me what's wrong and the price. I decided to buy the parts myself somewhere else..when I bring the parts in they tell me THREE different times I have the wrong parts even though I got the parts THEY said to get.. this went on for 3 weeks. I got fed up and went to Uftring Weston and got my car fixed in 1 day and at a better price. Now about the so called Detail Dept.. WORST DETAIL DEPT EVER! And it's not the actual dental employees. It's the Detail Manager Danny Baker..The homeless person that offers to clean my windshield when I'm in Chicago literally could do a better job. This man has 0 organizational skills. They pay the detail guys pennies and they get paid every 2 to 3 weeks. And never on the same day.. Bottom line this place is very shady.. I won't even go into my car buying experience here. (Hint don't deal with John Jasberg) Save yourself a trip and shop/service your car somewhere else.. How this place is still in business is a head scratcher. Gives Car Dealers a bad name. read more

We bought a vehicle here a few years back, we have since traded it in and are needing a refund on our gap insurance policy. We have tried to get in contact with a finance manager at this location for over a week now. We were in store waited for over an hour for him to finish up with another customer but then he decided he needed a break and refused to help us. We have since made several attempts to get in contact with him and he has refused to return phone calls. We have also left a message with the store director with no phone call back. That right there speaks volumes about this location and the lack of service. read more

Went to Green to test drive a red Chevy SS since I had contemplated buying one (however I wanted a black one) but it was the first one available to test drive in peoria I had found. When I showed up to drive it, they made sure to inform me someone else just got done test driving it and was a potential buyer. I drove it and tried to leave but they wanted to run numbers since I said I would sell my car (2008 g6 GXP with 100k miles in great condition, tinted windows, aftermarket 20"rims etc - going for roughly 8k on cars.com). I told them I would sell private because they wouldn't make me a good enough offer AND that I wasn't interested in a red car. I was convinced to let them run some numbers so went inside and after waiting 20 minutes they came back with an offer. They offered me $1500. I laughed and asked them to bring me my keys so I could leave. They sent a sales manager over that tried to tell me that's all my car was worth, they would not come down in price on the new car, there were other potential buyers and someone else test driving it shortly (who they later walked right by our desk and made me very aware they were the next people to drive it). They were very rude and condescending and tried to make us feel stupid saying that we would not find a better deal on a car like that and could not ever sell my car for more than $1500. Nine days later I was the proud owner of a black SS from an out of state dealership that had the car listed at 3k cheaper than theirs and only had 6,000 more miles PLUS they then came down another 3k dollars. The same day I picked up the car I sold my other car for $6000 (4x the amount Green said was top dollar). By going somewhere else and selling a used car to a private party netted me $10k compared to what green would do. I will never do business with them ever again. read more

I need to leave some feedback about the full detail and oil change I received on Wednesday, 1/13/2016. I had this year's new license plate registration sticker sitting on the back seat together with my registration from last year. The detailers left the old one, but I think they may have disposed of the new one, with the actual sticker still attached, because I have not been able to locate it since. Many other papers that must have been found in the cleaning process were jammed into my glove box, along with a pair of glasses in one of the cubby holes in the front console that became scratched in the process. When I picked up the vehicle, I had to double back and speak to my service advisor for a few reasons. 1) My engine light came on immediately (fixed by running a dyno and determining my oil reservoir cap was replaced "backwards" letting extra air into the engine), and 2) there were several stains left on the vehicle, both on the cloth seats, and on plastic panels in the hatchback area. As I told my former service advisor, who is apparently no longer with the dealership, I live near Chicago, and could just get my car taken care of at *any* number of dealerships closer to me, but I chose to give Green my business as loyalty to the person who originally sold me the car (also no longer with them), and because it was convenient to do it while I visited friends who are in town. Now that I don't know anyone on the inside, I no longer feel obligated to give Green my business, especially after receiving the vehicle in unsatisfactory condition, and experiencing damaged and missing items. I eagerly await their response to see how they're going to explain away this one. read more

Will never deal with this dealership ever again. Not only was I sold a faulty car, but the staff was completely rude through the entire process and blamed me for the issues with the car. The car was sold to me with a bad oil pump, rusted pipes with holes in them that they said nothing about even though they had worked under the car to replace the brakes. They claim I did burnouts in the parking lot and did multiple fly-bys the dealership after I bought the car, and blamed the issues on that. Salesman Caleb was in the car for whole test drive. My girlfriend followed me straight to the highway after I bought it off the lot. They refuse to work with me. read more

He said it would stop and that he was sorry for it. They just called me again this morning. They lost their chance at getting my business because of this. In June, my daughter went to Green Chevrolet to find a used car because she has so many kids. Anyway, she had some hiccups on her credit and her income wasn't where they wanted it to be. She asked her dad if he would co-sign. He agreed and told the salesman to only inquire with a couple banks...holy cow...that couple of banks turned in to 20 loan applications under his name. The deal never went through because they were trying to force her into purchasing a brand-new truck, when she needed an SUV to haul all these kids. Why pay $65K for a truck when she needs a 6-passenger car. Just stupid. Anyway, those 20 hard inquiries on her dad's credit lowered his score substantially because they are hard hits on his credit. When we contacted Green and told the finance manager and even the dealership manager, he got the same story, "Give us your number and we will have someone get back with you!", that was told to us twice and neither time did we get a call back. During our call, the second guy indicated that we were lying to him about the hard inquiries on his credit. I think the Illinois Attorney General would probably find this interesting as well. Looks like we are not the only ones to have had this problem as, Adam M. on Yelp also left a similar complaint in July of this year (2018). We have always dealt with Ray Dennison and now, my daughter will always deal with RD too. Green can stick their loan applications in their ear. Bottom line, do not trust them and call your credit bureaus and check for the number of times they had hard inquiries put on your credit file. read more

2 months ago, I bought a car from Green Chevrolet. It was a horrible experience! I traded my car in, and drove off in my newish Grand Prix. About 3 weeks later, I get a call telling me I needed to bring the car back! The salesman entered my income wrong, even though he had my check stubs! It wasn't my fault! A week later they stole my car while I was at work! Didn't even bother to bring my trade in back to me. They even took my son's $50 gift card out of the back seat, then lied about it! We brought our car in for a check engine light. It turned into a $2400 repair. While it was in, they performed a reprogramming of the airbag system according to a recall. When we got the car back, the airbag light was flashing. After initially being told that it wasn't their fault, I wrote some reviews on my experience, and was contacted by the service manager, Rod. I brought the car back in, and he made sure that it was fixed to my satisfaction. It turned out to be a very simple error that should have been caught originally. My daughter bought a used car and paid extra for a 100+ point certification. Within the first 30 days a check engine light came on. She was told the repairs would cost $1000 and the certification didn't cover. She found the management very unwilling to cover any of the expense even though the vehicle was certified to be in good mechanical condition. Bottom line, there's too many reputable dealers around. Avoid Green Chevrolet. Update: after meeting with the manager it was agreed by both parties to split the repair bill. read more

Disappointed.....I had a list of items I needed repaired when I came in. One of the problems was DIC alarm for Driver Air Bag and another was rear doors would not unlock using the FOB or front door switch. Other issues were taken care of sufficiently they are not a concern. The Driver Air Bag was reportedly corrected by reprogramming the computer to reset the fault, test drove and problem went away. Unfortunately the 3rd time I started it, the alarm came back on again. I'm not sure how far the test drive went as it had the same miles on it as when I brought it in. The issue with the rear doors not unlatching electrically was "allegedly" traced down to defective rear door latch motors and was quoted as $430 a door or a total of $860 to replace. I chose not to have Green do this repair. The afternoon I picked up the truck I "Googled" the problem & found it was a common problem and was repairable by replacing the "door latch relay". I bought the relay that afternoon at O'Reilly's for $17.88 plus tax and took 10 minutes to replace it in the fuse panel by driver. My problem is, "Was the technicians that DUMB or was Green that greedy and willing to "RIP" me off for that amount of money. I think the latter.....I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH GREEN again. Purchased a car from them last month and saw another car that I was interested in and called and inquired about it. I decided against it due to gas mileage. But without my permission submitted a loan application to several banks. I called the general manager and left a message and was called back by the finance guy. I was told by the sales person that I would have to fill out all new paperwork because they don't keep information and that it goes to the bank. The finance guy gave me a completely different answer. Also I realized after the that the car that I purchased hadn't even been detailed. I found dried food in the cup holders and on the passenger seat and a sticker on the back of the rear view mirror. After a year they doubled the price to $20. , I asked and they said the price of oil had gone up but it is the same price as last year where I buy it and everywhere . I get annoying flyers several times a year making it seem like I have won thousands of dollars. To claim the prize I am told to visit the dealership to verify the winning numbers. When I show up I stand in line with hundreds of other "winners" only to be told I have won a $5 gift card to Walmart if I fill out their survey. It's deceiving. The sales person who sold me my vehicle was awesome! However, now that my car is having issues with the "programing" (I say there is a short somewhere) the service department can't fix it because it is not having the issue at the moment. When they did have it while it was having the issue, they did not fix it just reset the computer which worked for like 2 hours. The Green team service manager was also very disrespectful to me and my father while we were in today. He made it sound like I was lying about the issue. He told my dad, "Take me for a ride and show me that is it doing it and then I will fix it". Like I said before, he had it at one point while it was acting up. The woman "Marsha" who basically threatened me that she would be at the counter when I got there, all because because I asked to speak to someone about a car I was interested in she proceeds to rudely tell me in a tone of "here's the problem!" She said hung up on me twice. She wanted no part in helping me but yet being extremely unprofessional but I guess greens will just hire anybody. I was involved in one of the worst experiences in my adult life with these folks. I was looking for a newer Ford truck and they had one that had the features I was looking for and I decided to see whether or not we could make a deal. I could tell that the young salesman was inexperienced when I began questioning him about the vehicle. We had a very frank conversation about where I needed to be payment wise and he also was told of my need to have a warranty. After the normal back and forth to the sales manager baloney, he came in and shook my hand and said "We have a deal". I was happy to hear that, but my happiness was short lived. My wife and I sat for over 2 hours waiting for the finance manager, seems like they should have more than one finance guy, when we finally sat down with David he told me that the payment was $65/month higher than what we had been told earlier and that was with no warranty! I was upset to say the least. He left the office and was able to reduce the payment by another $10, but at that point after almost 4 hours I was done. I took the business cards and threw them out. I was then contacted on Monday morning by a very apologetic sales manager that admitted his salesman had made a big mistake and said he would sell me the truck for $71/month less than their original offer!! That again was without warranty, so two phone calls later he was right where I wanted to be, but the experience left me no choice but to decline the offer. I found a truck that was a year newer with over 30,000 less miles on it for the same price at Landmark in Springfield. I made the whole deal over the phone in a series of texts over a 5 hour period. Gary the salesman was the best sales guy I have ever dealt with. Honest and no BS! I have been driving my 2012 Ford F150 for 30 days now and love it. As a another reviewer put it, I would not go to Green if they were giving away cars. Oh and by the way, the truck I was looking at from Green has still not sold yet! read more

My experience with the sales staff when purchasing my vehicle was good. I enjoyed working with my sales man. However, I have not been overly impressed with their service department. It always seem disorganized whenever I go in for vehicle service/maintenance. They always ask me what service team I am on when calling to schedule an appointment and I tell them (at least the one that I worked with during my last appointment ) and it always is a different team depending on who I speak with. I did not have a good experience with them ordering parts for a recall on my vehicle. I was told it would only be a few days before the part was in. Approximately 2 weeks went by and I still had my heard from them. Also, I think an hour and half for them to change the oil and rotate the tires is a bit extreme. They always forget to reset my "oil life" light as well after the oil change. read more

I will never be returning to Green Chevrolet ever again. I have gone there many times before for services and the last couple of times I have been there have been very awful experiences. I was a member of the gold team with Brandon. I had made an appointment to get an oil change, but when I made the appointment I told them that I was hearing some sort of grinding noise and I wasn't sure what it was from and asked them to check it out. When I get to the dealership to drop off my car at service and remind them of that they had no idea what I was talking about. So after reminding them what I was concerned about I left. When I returned Brandon was not there and another young man went to get him. When he asked about the noise and what we were doing about it, Brandon had no idea what he was talking about, AGAIN! Finally they told me that they would have a technician ride with me to see if he could identify where the noise was coming from. Mike, the technician, was very friendly and very helpful. He thought that it MIGHT be the rotors but wouldn't know for sure unless he looked at them. When we returned Brandon again was no where to be found and Mike had to go look for him. Brandon then appeared, was extremely rude and told me that it WAS my rotors that needed to be changed and that it would cost me over $300 and that I needed to make an appointment to come in and have them do it. I was very angry because Mike had just told me that he did not know for sure that it even was the rotors because he needed to look at it to be sure and I had made the appointment telling them that I had another issue that I wanted checked! I did not want to have to come back for something and find out that was not the case at all. I received the inspection chart that they give you and on the chart it said that my brakes still had 5mm left on them. So I decided to take a look at my rotors myself, a 23 year old, non-mechanic, woman, and see what the deal was. After taking apart my brakes I realized that the issue wasn't the rotors at all!! The brakes were COMPLETELY GONE! How could they have told me that the brakes were fine but when I took them apart myself they were completely almost nonexistent and why did I never hear squealing like you should when your brakes get close to needing new ones?! That is because when I got my brakes done there before they did not replace the hardware that goes with the brakes! I ended up buying new brakes and hardware from an autoparts store and replacing them myself. I no longer hear the grinding. I will never ever return, rude, unqualified people work there and I will never recommend anyone to this dealership, even to buy a car. When my 2009 Sierra Hybrid engine developed problems 35 miles out I crippled in to Peoria only to learn that the GMC dealership had been out of business for a couple years ago. Fortunately I was directed to Green Chevrolet for service. Their compassion for my plight was much apprecreciated Brandon found me a rental car that would allow pets, not all do, and took care of getting the car returned so I could get on the road ASAP. Sorry about not filling it with gas Brandon, forgot. Quickly put a thousand miles on the repair and it runs like a top. Very satisfied with my experience at Green Chevrolet.
