They told me 4-6 weeks to complete. I signed the contract at the end of April and my system was not hooked up until the end of September. They did not have the solar panels that I was told I would be getting when I signed the contract. I was told they had no idea how long it would be until they got them in. The day the solar panels arrived, their employees had already left for the day so I had to help the woman who drove the solar panels to my house unload them into my garage. They tried to stick me with an $800 bill because they moved the location of my electrical panel and then still needed to replace the old panel. Communication with them was never accurate, they hardly ever showed up at the times they were scheduled to come. Just a few of the many issues I had with this company. read more

We are 6+ months into our solar installation and still do not have Permission to Operate (PTO). Here is what this process has looked like: Communication has been nearly nonexistent. Emails and phone calls go unanswered. Scheduled calls were missed repeatedly with no notice. We were never proactively informed of any delays, issues, or challenges by the contractor -- every update had to be chased down by us. The only time we learned of a permit issue was from the subcontractor, not from the company we hired and are paying. The installation was rescheduled because their team did not show up, with no notice . The permit inspection had to be repeated twice after failing, requiring them to return to pass. The contractor never once reached out to explain what went wrong or provide a plan to move forward. Project managers consistently failed to follow through on commitments. Deadlines were missed without acknowledgment. There is no accountability at any level. The panels are installed and running, but without PTO we cannot interconnect with the grid or access the financial benefits we were promised. After 6 months, that is simply unacceptable. I have made multiple attempts to contact this company by phone and left several messages, but none were ever returned. This lack of communication is unacceptable from any business, especially one that expects to be trusted by customers. Returning phone calls is a basic professional courtesy, and their failure to do so raises serious concerns about reliability and accountability. They have a receptionist that takes all incoming calls, takes a message and promises someone will return your call. When a company cannot perform the simplest task of responding to potential customers, it calls in question how they would handle service issues, contracts, or support after sale. Responsiveness is not optional in business--it is a fundamental part to customer service. I have been trying to get defective panels under warranty, replaced for seven months . All I get is "we are working on it"! Now I can' t even get anyone to speak with! Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. Be ware of their hidden fees and terms/conditions. Green Conception has it hidden in their agreement that they will charge a minimum fee if you need manufacturer warranty support (i.e. defect panel for example). Additionally unlike other companies they do not provide any guarantees and do NOT include permit fees into their proposed total cost. Going solar is a big deal and with so many companies to choose from, you will almost certainly take to Yelp to try and glean as much info as you can. Well, we took the plunge back in 2017, having chosen Green Conception, and I am here to update anyone who is wondering if this a good company. After all, it is A LOT of money. The good: - The roofing team was great! Professional, speedy and no leaks, ever! - Our solar panels were pretty efficient, until around 2024. The bad: - As with all these types of projects, things dragged on longer than expected. Some of that may be out of their control, due to dealing with permits and such. - The electrician they assigned to us was so rude and unprofessional. I remember specifically telling the project manager about this and asking for someone else, as we felt unsafe having that particular electrician in our home again. He said ok, and then the exact same electrician showed up again the next day! Our concerns were ignored. Thankfully nothing escalated further, and the guy finished up and left forever. The ugly: - We noticed one day that our solar data was not updating at all online, and we promptly contacted Green Conception to find out what was going on. They informed us that "by no fault of their own" the software was now obsolete. So they had knowledge of this and never bothered to inform us ahead of time, or after. They could update the software, at OUR expense of around $300. Mind you, this was just a few years in from our entire install, new inverter and all, and already the software is expired?? They blamed the inverter company and claimed the $300 charge was "at cost," and that they'd be making no money from it. $300 is nothing to Green Conception, but it's a lot to us, especially after we've already given them so much of our hard earned money. Without this new $300 replacement software, we have absolutely no direct or immediate way to monitor our solar input, and must rely on our monthly bills from Edison. - Green Conception assures their customers that they are monitoring your solar input on their end as well, and that they will contact you immediately if a problem is detected. Not true for us. - Fast Forward to February 2025. Our monthly bills from Edison have been creeping higher and higher. We are unsure if it's Edison raising their rates, or if we have a problem with any of our panels. So, we call Green Conception. We are ready to talk about possibly purchasing extra panels, maybe a power wall, and finally that $300 at-our-expense software upgrade. First call in, we're told we'll be contacted in a few hours. Over a week goes by... nothing. Hm, maybe they wrote our number down wrong. We call again, explain that we've called once before and not heard from anyone. We're told that they'll mark this second call as urgent. Sounds great. 5 days later and still nothing. So if you're wondering what to expect as far as customer service from Green Conception, please learn from our experience and take your business to someone that will value you as a customer. Here we are, ready to throw our money at them for upgrades and we can't get a call back. I can only imagine how much harder it would be to get a service call on a broken system, all while the charges continue to rack up through Edison. read more

Ok, Conception has replaced the part and after a few weeks of asking, they provided a quote for the additional panels. Quote was not competitive & I lost faith in their ability to take care of there customers after the sale so I passed on the quote. Looks like their reply to setting up my appointment went to my junk email. Once that got straightened out, their sales associate reached out and asked for a week or so to provide a quote for 11 more panels. In that time I received 3 quotes from other providers. Unfortunately, the quote I received from Green Conception was the least competitive. I chose to go with a different provider and already have my new panels up and running. When I got my panels originally from Green Conception, they installed them but never turned them on. I went one year thinking I was generating Solar to receive a massive true up bill at the end of the year. I reached out to the owner Nick and he stepped up and offered to pay a portion of that bill. I was impressed with the fact that he took ownership. Not sure what happened to them as of late though. My current experience of getting the part replaced and the fact that it took weeks to provide a quote and how I was treated, even by Nick was so disappointing. I'm in the renewable energy space, I could have done this myself or convinced friends from company to help me on the weekends to do the installation myself. So I feel I have credibility when writing this review. These guys are extremely professional and inexpensive with no BS. No harassing salespeople just professional project managers who talk you through their process which is mostly remote via phone, text and email. Constant communication before and after installation. They also have great financing options for a small fee ($500 vs $4,000 I got from other firms). The design, permit and installation was done in about 10 days from signing the contract. The price per watt came in about 40% less than the closest competitor! Once final inspection was complete and LADWP set the new meter it was just over a month. At this price, service and timing, I'm so glad they did it instead of me spending several weekends on a hot roof trying to save a few bucks. Literally, it probably would have only been a few grand cheaper to do it myself (an 11kW system) but I would have lost my weekends for a month at least plus the hassle of running permits and utility applications myself. Don't let other companies try and trick you with the density of their panels to justify their high prices. It's all about price per watt installation costs. They used high quality panels and personally I could care less if it took them 29 panels versus 27. I'm very happy and estimate my payback will be about 5 years! That's a great investment considering I have a pool, 2 five ton HVACs and an electric car. What a deal! Highly recommended. read more
