Parking is very limited and most of Moonstone Beach road is littered with no parking and private property signage, but the no parking zone is apparently not frequently enforced during the off season.

This beach is wayyyy less crowded than the other RI public beaches and has lots of parking, a concession/food stand, bathrooms, and some merchandise for sale. The parking is only $7 for RI residents on the weekend and the parking line is very quick. Also, for the beach-o-holics like me, you can even purchase a beach pass online for all RI public beaches for $30 for the summer season...well worth it if your a frequent beach bum like me! It will save you some money if you go to the beach more than 4x in the summer season. There's usually tons of open spots on the beach to lay your beach blanket down, in your own secluded area - I love being in my own space so this was a huge perk! I took my 8yr old nephew here to enjoy a summer day in little Rhody on the weekend and he loved the swing set... we even purchased a sand bucket at the beach from a local vendor to keep him busy playing in the sand. I'll definitely be back...like literally every hot sunny summer weekend ! Love it here !

It was much quieter and with less people than Narragansett beach would have been, though. What knocks it down to 3.5 for me is that it's very rocky. I went into the ocean but you have to walk over some rocks before getting to the sandy part, so I didn't bother. Walking back to where we were sitting was also rocky. On your way out there are restrooms and also a foot shower, which was nice.

Many people rate this beach as the best State beach in RI. The sand is soft and the beach area is ample. Lots of people come here, there's lots of parking. Electric vehicle charging stations are available for 4 hours max while enjoying the beach.

The only downside is you do have to get here extra early for parking because by 9:30 (especially during high season) the parking lot gets full. I highly recommend carpooling and coming in a small vehicle. Makes your chances of finding working even better. There aren't any nearby places for food or drink so pack a cooler and bring it over with some snacks. No dogs allowed during peak season. Must pay for parking. They take credit cards. Lifeguards are available in certain parts. Very quiet beach and a perfect spot to come relax in the summer.

The parking lot is pretty small so I'm sure it fills up quickly. I'm not sure what the facilities are like when the beach is open, but they have one old wooden structure there...not all the new buildings and pavement most of the RI beaches have (quaint?).

Beaches in New York are definitely not all that so we decided to hit up the Rhode. It did not disappoint! Let's start by saying it was only $14 to park for the whole day! There are restrooms/changing rooms on premises. Everything is compostable so no flushing but the restrooms sure were pretty clean. No running water so you're kinda stuck with just hand sanitizer. I would recommend staying away from yellow, just let it mellow. The area is pretty isolated, it doesn't get too too packed. There's a limit of how much parking is available so it can only get "packed" up to a certain point. Bottom line: come to this beach. This is all I know but don't tell everyone about it. When things become popular they quickly get ruined. I know, I should've not reviewed it but I couldn't stay greedy. You're welcome, LOL, enjoy!

We figured that people would have had to have left by then so we took a chance and drive down anyhow. When we got to the girl, we asked if they had spots and she said yes! It was $7 and we found a spot right away. Parking can be limited but they have bathrooms and the walk to the beach is only a few steps away. The beach is long and narrow with plenty of room for everyone with space in between. We headed to the right and settled just past the area that they monitor. We set ourselves up with our chairs, umbrella and Italian grinders! The beach is clean and well taken care of! I was surprised that the bathrooms had already been locked for the evening and it was only 6:30. I mean, we did pay to use the facilities... closing them before 7 on a peak summer weekend is a bit excessive. Check out the spot closest to where you park. The water is completely still and would make the perfect place to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.

It's accessible by public transportation or by car.....During the summer season, parking is free after 5pm, so that makes it easy for those wanting to save some bucks. Parking on the streets was easy. The staff were so kind, they helped us carrying the wagon down the stairs to the beach. Beach pass is $12 for the family. The beach was so clean. It is therapeutic to see the ocean and the horizon to the end without any human intervention. This town is so cute and nice. I would totally come back again.

Great little state beach to have the Rhode Island experience. The ocean, the food ,the people, the…read moreboats and the views...it's all here. The biggest challenge is parking. The regulars line up here at least an hour before the gate opens around 8. There's some free, time bound parking around but the city parking folks do keep track of the time so make sure you are too so you're not coming back to a ticket if you take too long. There's also some private pay lots that typically fill up by 10 am on weekends, 11 weekdays. The water is typically always clean and the waves are mild. Sit near the rocks on the right to get the best views of the fishing boats and pleasure boaters leaving and coming into the port of Galilee. You've got George's and Champlains for snacks if you're not into the concessions on the pavilion. All around great spot but minus a star for the parking sitch.
