The plethora of actually strong smelling scents is delightful and something I like to have in my home at all times. While not obsessed with candles like some others (I know people that have a candle in every single room in their house), it's always nice to have a few of these, and giving them as gifts is always a pleasure (especially with one of those buy one get one coupons, or buy two get two). This location is newer, and is next to David's Bridal in University Station. It's a bit bigger than the one in Dedham, and is brighter, more lively and less claustrophobic. The store is vast and always prepares holidays in well-advance timing. Employees are friendly and the variety is fantastic (they never run out of my favorite candle flavor.... Macintosh). I was already in the plaza and I had gone into every store not knowing what I wanted to get as a gift, so I came into Yankee candle. The deal of the day was buy 2 get 2 free. I had 1 large one and 3 small ones. I only picked the large one because they didn't carry that fragrance in a smaller one, otherwise I would have chosen all small ones. The cashier said, "why don't you get get another large one instead? It'll be the same price." I was confused, and asked why. She said "because they're buy 2 get 2." I said yes, I'm getting two small ones for free. She said right. I said I'm paying for a big one and a small one. She said right. I said I don't want to pay for two bigs ones. The light bulb went off and she said "Oh! Of course. You must work in retail." [I don't - I'm just on a budget and can do math] Um. K. During the transaction, she asked me for my email, and I figured sure, I'll probably get coupons. I spelled it for her, and she stared directly into my eyes while she typed it. It was SO CREEPY. Being able to type without looking at the keyboard is not some impressive super power. I get it. You can type. Look at your screen, or look ANYWHERE other than creepy staring intently into my eyes.
