We ate at Green Line again this week, with friends, a six top. Our server was Lauren N. We shared two bottles of wine with the table, Tattoo Girl and Ruffino Modus, both delicious reds. My wife had the Pork Chops and I ordered the Seafood Diablo. As always the presentation was perfect and the food was yummy. Bread Pudding à la mode was a nice finish. Lauren took good care of us. There were five of us, we were hungover, and this place cured us. So I cannot recommend it enough. First off, we made a reservation, but it wasn't necessary. There was plenty of room, even though there shouldn't have been because it was DELICIOUS. We had a birthday girl in our party, and when we arrived there was a card waiting for her signed by all the employees. They clearly have these on hand, but it's such a lovely touch and immediately makes you feel special. Now, Jessica. She is the best. She was our server and perhaps part psychic. My typical hungover self couldn't decide whether to be healthy or greasy, so yes, I got the veggie sandwich with bacon and French fries. And yes, it was delicious. The fries are clearly homemade and were yummy, BUT my friend's breakfast potatoes were superior, and I was delighted her hungover self couldn't get them all down because I got some. Our party got the breakfast burrito, shrimp and grits, fish sandwich, and one of the salads. EVERYONE was happy. Mostly because every time we looked up, Jessica was asking if we needed something. And we did. We needed mimosas and stouts and oh so much water. I promise the food and service were actually great and it's not just because we so desperately needed all the deliciousness they had to offer. I had the lavender which was great (tastes more like gin) and my partner got the key lime (more vanilla flavor than anything). I am sure this place is great, but I just wasn't feeling it. The steak I had was good but nothing to write home about, nothing made it stand out. It looked like most people come here for the cocktails, so I decided to have one. My daughter ordered the salmon and only took three bites. Very nice restaurant, great ambience. I had a wonderful time solo dining here a few weeks back. I was road tripping to Louisville and stopped here along the way and what a wonderful restaurant. They had just had a storm roll through and were experiencing a bunch of power outage problems, and the staff were able to pivot well around this issue. Which for me wasn't really an issue, because I like sitting in a darkened room anyways and I thought that was just the ambiance they were going for. I kicked off with a Buffalo trace martini and whooooo was it good and definitely a martini to be sipped and enjoyed. I followed that then with their shrimp cocktail special that I was not prepared for it to come in an actual cocktail glass and they officially have made the most gorgeous shrimp cocktail I have ever ordered. My server was super awesome and she suggested I also get their bread basket because she's heard great things about the truffle butter and sweet butter that come with it and let me tell you all something. The truffle butter was good, but the sweet cream butter I would gladly eat on everything the rest of my life, it was that incredible. For my main course I ordered the prime rib that they're known for and while I liked it, I wish I'd asked for it to have been cooked a little more than medium well, but that's just my personal preference and I knew I should have gone with what I normally do. The sides were fantastic and paired well with it, and I also got a side of their vegetable risotto which I ate for breakfast the next day without shame. I then finished the meal off with the delectable lemon cake you see pictured here and it was so smooth and delish. I basically had to roll out. Green Line was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Really cool ambiance and vibe - it felt like a smaller place with a lot of people in it but somehow didn't feel too crowded. We had a reservation for 6pm and walked in and got right to our table, with drinks shortly following. I ordered their espresso martini, which was very solid. For an appetizer I ordered their soup of the day (clam chowder) and entree was the orange roughy in a lemon cream sauce, with wild rice and broccoli on the side (and my wife got the prime rib - WOW!). Both were EXCELLENT - wish the portion sizes were bigger honestly on mine! For dessert we all split the lemon mascarpone cake and cheesecakes, which were devoured. Then, because it was one of those rare warmer nights in February, we went outside and sat in front of the fireplace and drank a bottle of wine and hung out for an hour or two. Our server and the manager were absolutely awesome and hit all the high points. Definitely a great experience all around. Only SLIGHT downside was the parking lot around back, which was totally full, but can't really fault Green Line for that. We found street parking not far away. I loved the ambience of this restaurant. The vibe gave upscale, but not too serious. Love that because that means the restaurant is fitting for any occasion. The food was delicious. My favorite appetizer was the crabcake. This is probably top two of what I've had in the tri-state thus far. The sauce to go with it was amazing. We also tried the calamari as an appetizer; you'll appreciate this if you like soft and sweet calamari. My natural preference on calamari is more crunchy though. The salmon dinner and risotto was so good, I have a nut allergy though so I had to get it without pesto. I also really appreciate how they were able to cater to my allergy. read more

Wow is all I have to say. This little gem in Fort Thomas KY is just wonderful. The atmosphere is warm and inviting they even have outdoor group seating. We usually sit at the bar. The fish and chips and prime rib are two of our favorite dishes. Also the apps are all good if you just want a light bite and a great cocktail. The folks are Very friendly and will help you pick the perfect dish from a very wide variety on the menu. We try to eat here every time we are in Cincinnati area. Shame on us for giving Greenline Restaurant a second chance. We spent $22 on fish and chips that came out burnt to a crisp. The fish tasted like a frozen dinner--dry, flavorless, and overcooked. The fries were rock-hard and barely edible. My husband ordered the lobster tacos--four itty bitty bites for $20. Total rip-off. The half watermelon salad was inedible, the arugula lettuce was drowned in balsamic vinaigrette--another $8 wasted. Not once did a manager come by to ask how we were doing. No greeting, no check-in, no goodbye. Zero hospitality. How this place continues to operate is beyond me.This was the second time we dined at this establishment and no one except our waitress came around and asked us how we were or how the food was when you're paying that kind of money. It's a shame because we like the outside atmosphere, but they definitely need a management change. The only bright spot was our sweet waitress--she was lovely, and the only reason we didn't complain on the spot. But even if they offered us a free meal, we wouldn't go back. Save your money. Several of our table had fries with their entree cold and overcooked. Had to ask for ketchup several times. My burger was supposed to be medium rare it was rare. Not flavorful and I ordered mushrooms on it and they weren't there. Fish was overcooked on both of the orders at our table. The food overall had no flavor for example the garlic aioli just tasted like mayo. No salt on fries. The Cole slaw was spicy as advertised. The only good thing I had was the Caesar with anchovies. Had a carry out there this evening. 1/2 a Caesar salad and Seafood Diablo. Unfortunately there was no dressing or parm slices for the salad. There was very little seafood in the diablo. Only one of the three mussels were opened and able to be eaten, 2 shrimp, a sliver of crab and that was it. It is a wonderful spicy sauce but the lumache were overcooked. It is to have spinach and tomatoes in the sauce but there was only 2 leaves of spinach. This was a very diasppointng experience. read more

Our waitress so pleasant and gave us wonderful recommendations on every aspect of the meal. I ordered the pork chop and couldn't have been more pleased. Even the tiny roasted Pearl onions accompanying the meal were delicious! I highly recommend, best bone in pork chop that I have had in a while. It was so good! My dinner companion had the Gnocchi Stroganoff and kindly allowed me to sample. The sauce was rich and creamy, the prime rib was tender and the gnocchi, little pillows of yum! We ended our meal with dessert, she the chocolate cake and me the lemon ricotta doughnuts. They were both wonderful. Had a nice meal. Food was very good. Ordered a couple of cocktails from the menu. When the bill came there were $2.50 charges on each cocktail for a "mixer" charge! I think this is sort of ridiculous, not so much for the cost but as a undisclosed add-on to the bill. The Brussel sprouts had a burnt taste. The salad had a weird tangy dressing, the risotto was horrible. Tough and chewy for both the vegetable and mushroom risotto. The salmon had a very "fishy" taste and the sauce wasn't the right fit for salmon and shrimp. The desserts were delicious and they had an extensive drink selection. We decided to try the Green Line for brunch this morning because we have been wanting to go there for dinner since they had opened. We were very excited about a new restaurant close to home and could not wait to try it. The restaurant looks beautiful and they did a great job renovating the previous building. Our service was very good but, unfortunately, the food was not. I ordered a chicken sandwich to find out five minutes later that they were out of chicken. So, my son and I both ordered the French dip sandwich and it was not prime rib, definitely roast beef, and very well done to the point that it was actually crispy. My husband ordered the prime rib hash and said it was not good at all and my daughter-in-law ordered the breakfast platter and said it was OK. They were not very crowded while we were there and I'm starting to wonder why that is. I went in this morning thinking I would like to try dinner, but their prices are pretty high for dinner and after our experience today, not sure I want to take that risk. read more

Finally had a chance to check out green line in Ft.Thomas and I was so happy to finally do so! Our server was very kind and attentive and helpful with recommendations. I got an order of mussels and fries with a bottle of wine. The manager had recommended two different white wines to pair with the mussels and his recommendation was absolutely perfect. The mussels were fresh and they even brought over extra crustini for my meal. The building is beautiful and I can't wait to make use of the outside area with the fire pits in warmer weather! The only complaint I have is that it was VERY loud, but they're new and I'm sure will find a way to make the experience better for guests to have conversations without needing to be so loud just to hear one another. I had the portobello stuffed with "crab." More like artichoke-tomato dip with a hint of crab. Good, but not what I expected. My friend had the Greek meatballs. Solid. I went for the salmon with spinach-mushroom risotto and shrimp as my entree. The salmon could have been slightly less cooked, but was still good. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. Not much seasoning, but good. The risotto was my biggest problem. All crunch, no creaminess. Rice was hard as rocks, got hard bits stuck in my teeth. The served-too-early lemon-ricotta doughnuts were tasty, but very heavy. The raspberry sauce tasted more like prune sauce?? I'd like to give this place one more try from the regular menu sometime. The ambiance of this place is absolutely unmatched by any other place in the area. The view from N Fort Thomas Ave is just stunning. They have a huge outdoor space complete with firepits and fire places. Can't wait for summer to sit and sip a cocktail out there. As stunning as their front exterior is their entrance is actually in the back connected to a parking lot. Their interior has to main rooms one brighter and more quiet and the other larger with the bar centralized in the middle. We came in their first few weeks and couldn't get a reservation so they had about an hour wait, we were served about 45 minutes so not too bad. Our server was really great and very honest about their personal recommendations both good and bad, I always love an honest server, don't tell me it's good if it isn't! However that list was very short and her love list was lengthy, my friend and I split the cheeseboard. Loved everything on it very tasty starter just needed more bread to pair with the abundance of cheeses. She ordered the Bolognese and I got the risotto. Both really good warming dishes on a cold day. At our servers suggestions we also ordered the fries, thick cut steak fries which were amazing. I've been to The Green Line twice since it opened and had a very good experience both times. My first visit I got the pork chop and it was solid - great flavors, maybe slightly overcooked for my liking. The second time I ordered the prime rib and it was fantastic - I highly recommend. The service both times was great. Our waitresses were incredibly attentive. I love the building and decor. The outside area with the fire pits looks so inviting and fun for cocktails this summer. My only complaint is the noise of the dining room. It was very loud both times and hard to have a conversation with others at my table. read more
