We have wool carpeting downstairs and standard carpeting upstairs. The wool carpet was looking a little tired, but the standard carpet, a very light beige color, was bad (stained in many places and grayish from years of family traffic). I'd actually figured it was beyond hope and that we'd need to replace it. But I am not exaggerating when I say that after Carpenter's worked their magic, they looked like new rugs. Night and day. And not only do they do an impeccable job, they are professional, courteous, and very responsive to their customers' needs and level of satisfaction. The carpet, a white Berber, about 10 years old and having suffered through four kids, had never been cleaned. It was actually turning a gross grey. There were severe spots of soda abuse in my teen's room, and possibly clay from kids craft. I knew it wouldn't look new, but I needed better, and that's what Wesley gave me! The less traveled carpets looked REALLY nice and the carpet wearing the heavy traffic was better. The living room was so soiled that it had some funky stripes going on after the initial cleaning. I talked to Wesley about it and he explained that there had been a lot of soil in that one area (indeed there had been). He offered to do it again, charging only the price of gas. That was very nice of him and I appreciated the gesture. I paid him more than the price of the gas because it's not his fault we had never cleaned the carpets before. When I called to explain my dissatisfaction, they used excuses and accusations to evade responsibility. When they returned, they wanted to charge me an extra $60 to use spot cleaner, a brush and towel to clean the tassels (maybe a 1/2 hour job??), which I could do myself more thoroughly without a doubt. When I pointed out areas that were still visibly dirty (which came up with my fingernail), the cleaner gave me horrible attitude about going over it again, instead of doing what he needed to do willingly to get the rug clean. Furthermore, although they advertised a 10% off discount for any cleaning of $100 minimum, they refused to honor this stating that I was reading the advertisement incorrectly (which was clearly untrue). I would never recommend their service, and was left with a dirty rug $150 dollars poorer, feeling extremely frustrated and quite perturbed. Unacceptable. They simply did not do the job I paid them to do.
