This place can't handle much more than giving shots and extremely basic care. The moment there's something wrong with your pet just go somewhere else. These people have no clue on how to diagnose an animal that may have issues. They won't even let you inside to be with your pet. I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars with this place to have them shrug their shoulders when things got beyond just checking for basic things. They cannot diagnose anything. Thankfully there are other options in the area that were able to help save my dog's life. read more

I've used Green Paws since they opened, and I would give them a 5 star rating for each visit. They've been efficient, conscious of costs and explained options. Recently I had to put my cat down. From making the appointment through the whole experience, every staff member showed such compassion and kindness to me and my sweet cat. They always go above and beyond - and listen! If I could give a zero rating I would. Their front desk guy is extremely rude from the time I walked in the door when he told me to put on a mask to when he put us in an exam room. He practically threw a clipboard at me to fill out info. I did not have a good feeling about it so I left after 10 minutes. He did not care one bit. But the vet did call me who sounded very nice. I was really surprised when we took our sick animal there that they did some expensive tests, told us our pet was ok, and then our pet started dying. The vet couldn't even be bothered to call us back when we had questions. Finally we ended up having our pet put down. No clue what was wrong with our pet. I would not recommend. We have been going to this vet for almost 15 years. Everything has always been good. We have an 8 month old puppy who was going there since day one. He went to green paws for a follow up for diarrhea. When Dr. Tina Marcotte called me to discuss the diarrhea, she mentioned that his heart sounded different than it did when he was fixed just a couple of months before. She suggested an ECG to see exactly what was going on. Told me that the specialist was not available for over a month. I decided to wait because I wanted someone who Dr. Tina worked with rather than going elsewhere because I trusted this vet. I couldn't make an appointment for the test unless I paid $100.00 deposit. He had the test, I waited 3 hours for a phone call because she wouldn't talk to me when I was there to pick up the dog. She called and told me that he had a heart condition that would shorten his lifespan, he may have a sudden death, and that there was nothing to do. Then said that I needed to come back in 6 months for another ECG. Offered no solution.. other than an experimental surgery in Colorado ( she was gonna to call them) This was a Monday- by Thursday- no phone call back from her. We went on Thursday to pull all the records for 5 animals that were going there. No call back from the Dr. Tina Marcotte to discuss that either. Obviously, she doesn't really care about her clients- the pets or their parents. We are taking Murphy to a specialist tomorrow and have also switched vets. I would never recommend this vet to anyone- ever again . They used to be good. There is no compassion, it's all about the money it seems. Never , ever again . Green paws read more

I've changed my mind about this place. I paid $150 to have my pug check out for kidney stones, submitted a stone to be analyzed, was charged another $160 for the test, was told it would take about 3 days.....and it's been over 3 weeks with no response from this place. Talk about irritating. When I finally spoke with the vet, it was suggested that I begin a "prescription diet" for my dog. This was a Struvite Diet that is made by Hills and is said to help cure kidney stones. It doesn't. I wasn't born yesterday. The vet gets a kick-back from clients purchasing this brand. Same holds true for Science Diet. I know numerous people who have worked for vets and they have all confirmed this to be the case as well....so I'm not making things up here. I quickly did my research and asked holistic experts about my options, and found a vitamin supplement called Solid Gold Berry Balance that is proven to reduce kidney stones in dogs. I'm now mixing that in my pups food and so far, so good. As for this Green Paws, it seems to have become just like every other vet clinic out there.... A waste of $300. read more

I will start by saying that Gia Gallegos was the most compassionate vet I have ever been too, very beautiful person. Sadly I found out today that she is no longer at Green Paws. I guess that is the reason my recent visits to Green Paws have not been satisfactory. I have been taking my dog there since he was a baby, and he is now 5 years old. They have gone crazy with their prices and now it is like taking them to an ER. Recently, I took my Shih tzu for an ear infection and ended up paying 300.00 dollars. They used to be reasonable, but they don't seem to be anymore. It is a big shame because I used to love Green Paws. I will miss Dr Gia Gallegos and wont be going there again. read more

I took my nine week old teacup Yorkie to Green Paws because of all of the great reviews here on yelp. My "regular" vet has retired and I was unable to get a referral. Anyhow, My first interaction with Green Paws was on the phone with Michelle. She was very energetic, friendly and knowledgeable and gave me a complete rundown of what a first visit would entail and how much it world cost ($52-very reasonable). When I arrived, they were quick to greet me and meet Bailey. The registration was quick and hi-tech (on an iPad then synced to iMac PCs). After a short wait due to one dog ahead of us, we were put in a room and Bailey's vitals were taken. The Dr. came in and introduced herself and asked to handle Bailey. She took the time to get acquainted with Bailey and didn't seem to mind that Bailey licked all over her face and teethed on get fingers. She took Bailey's vitals again and checked her limbs, coat, ears and eyes. She answered all of my questions-I had many-and she gave me tips on caring for such a small dog. I was eager to get Bailey's vaccines, but Dr. Gallegos warned about giving such small puppies too many vaccines in a short period of time. She suggested that I wait two more weeks and bring her back. She told me that I could choose which vaccines I wanted her to have based on where she will be. I had no clue that that was an option and I've had dogs my entire life. I didn't feel rushed and I left there feeling that Bailey will definitely be in good hands. I can't wait until Bailey's next visit. This place is visually understated, but I've never been one to judge a book by its cover. This place is a gem. read more

I have traveled between Georgia and Illinois for close to 10 years due to work. My actual home is in IL, but I chose a GA vet to be my primary DR for my animals. I am very particular about how my dogs are handled and that my choices ( raw diet, limited vaccination, tests I request) are at least respected. I have stuck to my GA vet for 10 years, while going through a stack of IL vets just not up to my standard. I am now exclusively working in IL and was desperate to find an outstanding veterinarian close to home. I am beyond pleased to say that I think I have at Green Paws. My dogs are handled perfectly. They take their time to relax their nerves and love on them a bit first. The front staff is enthusiastic, polite and competent. The Drs listen and respect your thoughts and concerns. The vet is very knowledgeable about specific issues to our dogs and the trends going on in the area. Both the vet and technicians are very gentle with the dogs and they give great recommendations on natural remedies. The hardest thing about moving is finding great service professionals. We really lucked out with Green Paws vets. The practice had just recently been sold and the new Vet is AWESOME. I have always had pets and they are part of my family. When our pups needed their boosters we went to Dr Marcotte and she treated us like we had known her for years and were apart of the family. Was referred to Green Paws, specifically Dr. Gia Gallegos, by a neighbor when I was being dicked around by Countryside Vet. I originally saw Dr. Gia for a second opinion, but she immediately became the only vet I would trust with my dog. She helped my dog with what turned out to be his food allergies, and other ailments consistently with love, passion, and care for over 3 years. On Tuesday 02/18, I received a call from Green Paws regarding my appointment with Gia for my dog's 3 year vaccine - Gia would not be in the office on 02/20. They wanted to know if I would see the other vet on staff. Schedules change, and it was only a vaccine. I see similar concerns with this other vet on staff than I've seen elsewhere. She's very professional, but I don't see the same care. I reached out to the admins about forwarding contact information for Dr. Gia Gallegos. They claim to have none and ask for me to see one of their other 3 vets on staff. I asked them to send me my dog's records for a new vet. I don't feel comfortable going back to Green Paws without Dr. Gia. Does anyone know where she went? If she's not practicing anymore, I would love a referral! read more

I typically bring both my dogs even if only one needs to see the vet (they have separation issues) but when I do only bring in one, they always ask how the other one is! Our euro dane , Apollo Blue had a scheduled appt. this morning @ 9:00 am. He has been coming here since he was 4 mos old, he is now 3yrs. We arrived 8 min early, sat outside in our car then called to let them know we were here as instructed per covid protocol. No answer. My husband, with mask on, went to poke his head in the front door to let them know and was promptly TOLD he must wait in the car their phones were not turned on yet. Finally the office called us and after many questions my husband brought Apollo to the front door over the piles of snow to make it easier on the tech. Not more than 5 min later Dr. Andrianne Brusek called me and led in with all the problems they were having with Apollo and could not give him his vaccines due to his behavior. She recommended coming back and they could sedate him! I now realize Dr. Bruzek is not capable of dealing with anything out of the norm. Much less a dog who weighs 190lbs. Better stick to tea cup poodles! DR. GIA WHERE ARE YOU!! Up until this time Apollo never had a problem going to the vet! In this case (among others) incompetency has slowly crept into this practice! The right hand never knows what the left hand is doing and its just a job, about sums up the attitude there. We bring Apollo every month to Petsmart for his nails, teeth and ears and they have NEVER had a problem with him and they do it without drugs! Maybe they should contact our groomer for pointers! Dr. Bruzek did not seem to care we were NOT returning to Green Paws, when I told her how I felt. They also never had the courtesy of notifying us when Dr. Gia left the practice. We found out by accident last year when we brought our cat in. Dr. Gia watched Apollo grow up and he really loved her! She was amazing and understood how much all of us love our animal kids. We were one of the first to leave feedback for Green Paws as we have been going there for a very long time. Our original feedback is still on their website. Big change since then! I felt competently ripped off! The vet spoke to me like I was a child and didn't seem to know her information to well when I asked questions. It seemed she kept avoiding them. Then gave us medication we had been using before that didn't work last time and forgot to transfer records over I had to ask roughly 3 times over a 2 week period. My dog is still having issues and I now can't afford to take her to a vet because this place took my money with a false reason causing her problems. Never returning. read more

We recently moved to La Grange and needed to find new vet for our Daschund that was diagnosed with IVDD like week ago, and after reading other reviews on yelp, we decided to give it a try. And we sure weren't dissapointed, in fact i can only confirm this place is indeed a hidden gem. We met Dr. Tina Marcotte, very friendly and knowledgeable person, she used to have daschunds and explained to us all about IVDD disease that daschs tend to suffer from, one of hers even lived up to 21 years - impressive! The thing that stood for us the most was treating us like a family, especially when we made last minute appointment, when they planned to close by 6pm on Halloween night, yet whole staff stayed with us till almost 7:30 pm to make sure our daschund was completely taken care off, for which i am grateful (from X-rays to review on medication from Emergency visit). And to top it off, they called yesterday just to ask how Siggi was doing! You won't find more friendly place than this, where you will feel like home. read more

I took my 9 year old cat Zoe in because she was having severe diarrhea & vomiting. We saw Dr. Gia Gallegos she sprinkled cat nip on the towel on the exam table to make Zoe more comfortable - that was such a small thing, but for me that spoke volumes as to how compassionate Dr. G. is. Zoe was given a shot & fluids and sent home with meds. After no improvement we went back to see Dr. G. and had thorough testing done - I was NOT charged for a second office visit because it was for the same problem - WOW ! that's never happened to me before. Dr. G. called promptly with test results and a suggested treatment plan. Everyone from the techs and especially Dr. G. treated my Zoe as the fur baby she is to me -not just a cat - I really appreciated that ! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Me and my family have been coming to this vet for almost 20 years now and they USED TO BE good. For some reason in about the past 6 months, which seems like ever since Dr. Gallegos left, they have become one of the worst establishments I have ever been to. Super disorganized, unprofessional, hidden fees. It seems they are more interested in getting the most charges out of you as possible rather than doing what is in the best interest of the pet. In the past 1-2 months alone, they sent me to a specialist which ended up costing $1000 just to find out it was a simple issue that could've been found with a full blood panel, which they apparently failed to do even though they told me they would do. They're extremely hard to contact and don't call you back hardly ever. They had me ordering my pets thyroid medication online, my card was charged for it but I never received the medication because they never approved the order. When I called and complained in frustration they told me I could pick it up in office but they charged me an extra $30 for it than I was being charged online, ON TOP OF the money I already spent online for the medication I never received. I will never be coming here again. read more

We were recently confronted with making a decision no pet owner wants to be called upon to make. After a short illness and rapid decline, we took our dear kitty, Magic to Green Paws on recommendation of our daughter. Sadly, we learned that she was in end stage kidney failure. The veterinarian gave us three options to consider with no bias for any of the options. We were given very factual information and time to consider the options. The entire staff were extremely compassionate, caring and supportive of the decision we ultimately made. Our pooch is known when we come in, and I feel that both she and I are very well treated. Dr. Marcotte and her team are terrific. Your pets will get very good care here. They are very thorough, gentle, and loving. My dog feared/hated Dr. Reddy -- who owned the practice previously -- but took to Dr. Marcotte and staff immediately. To the person who complained about the food recommendation. I can't imagine her motives were based solely on her getting a kickback from the manufacturer. She truly cares about the animals and what is best for them. I was never pressured to try any particular therapy. She would make suggestions, and then it was up to me if I wanted to try them or not -- No different from seeing your own doctor. If she so happens to get a little something in return from the manufacturer, then good for her. But she would never do so just for the perk. She's an excellent vet and a caring human being. read more

We were referred here by our regular vet who was out of town. They were so kind and caring. You could just tell how much the vet loves animals. She was just so in tune with our dogs. Prices were very fair and it's just down the street. We been there quite a few time sense then and they have become our secondary vet. Our main vet comes to our home but isn't always available at a moments notice. Our pets have received excellent care at Green Paws! Our initial experience was in regards to our dog's dental issues. The vets were caring and informative. Riley is a rescue dog. Green Paws trearted him like a Westminster Grand Champion! Subsequently, Riley experienced a significant bite wound from another dog. Green Paws staff treated him stat. Continuing, we have brought our other dog, a rescue Labrador, for eye care. Again, exemplary service. The staff is young, energetic and competent. They provide followup calls as well. They are THE BEST! I took my dog in a few days ago for his annual shots, to get a cyst looked at, and to do something for his allergies (he licked his paws raw and they were starting to get infected). Upon walking in, the girls at the desk were very helpful and friendly. Dr. Gallegos is a treat! She has so much energy, is very knowledgeable, and truly loves animals. You can see compassion, not dollar signs in her eyes. She introduced herself and immediately sat down on the ground and started playing with Diesel, my 90 pound lap dog. Diesel loved the attention and didn't even realize he was being examined. They had one other vet tech in the room with her and a sweet girl who was shadowing the Dr. because she's deciding about going pre-Vet. She was very thorough with the treatment plans, and I was impressed and excited when she recommended several OTC medicines I could try instead of pricey prescriptions (he had to get a few prescriptions to clear up an infection) . My old vet wanted me to put my dog on anti-anxiety meds for licking his paws when all signs pointed to seasonal allergies. As far as prices go, I thought they were very reasonable, and like I said, she tries to give cheaper alternatives when possible. I got out of there for $290, which included: annual exam, cleaning and treating ear infection, taking fluid out of the cyst, heartworm test, annual shots, topical antibiotics for his paws, and a few other things. The next day, his lab work came back positive for a tick transmitted disease. They were able to promptly set up an appointment with just a tech so I didn't have to pay the 50ish dollar dr visit fee. The other vet (I cannot remember her name) both thoroughly explained the disease and possibilities why it could have shown up positive as well as explained the next plan of action. Both vets are very thorough and take time to LISTEN and EXPLAIN things. (For the initial checkup, Dr. G was in the room with me for a full 30 minutes, maybe a little longer, which was impressive as in previous experiences I had seen the vet for 5 minutes after the tech did most everything.) read more

I was visiting my son and daughter in law when my son's 18 yr. old papillion dog was not eating or drinking and was having difficulty breathing. While they were working my daughter in law and I decided we needed to take her to the veterinarian. The staff at Green Paws were very kind and considerate and confirmed what we had suspected that she was dying and experiencing organ failure. I would not hesitate to have my pets cared for at this clinic. We decided to euthanize my son's dog to prevent further pain and suffering. I took my dog Bea in just after the office opened and found Dr. Marcotte to be very professional and compassionate. Bea stayed there 3 days during which time the vet brought her children in to visit her. I thought that was very sweet. When Bea died a few months later the vet was very caring. Since then I've had her take care of my cat LeRoy and my dog Blanche. I have recommended her to my neighbors who are just as happy with her as I am.
