I did not feel that blood work was necessary to neuter my dog. They made me do it once, but time constraints did not permit me to get the dog back in 30 days. My Girlfriend took the dog in and chose to get the test again without my blessing. I wrote them that the test was BS. After a text exchange where I calmly and civilly expressed my annoyance with the test. They rejected all three of my pets and told me to go to another vet. They are corporate to the core. I will preface that Dr. B is no longer a vet at elmhurst Thrive and that is for good reason. He absolutely butchered our dogs neuter. We were left to go to the emergency vet 3 TIMES and had to come to Thrive to see Dr. Draca 2 or 3 times. Finally, the emergency vet reopened the wound and found there were numerous stitches just floating around in our dog. He had an extremely high fever, blood and mucus coming from the stitches and finally a blood drain attached to him that we had to empty every couple hours bc it would fill with blood. A GOLDEN RETRIEVER PUPPY. We had some inside info from a vet tech at the emergency vet saying they have been trying to get rid of Dr.B for a while. She said Thrive should reimburse us. We spent thousands of dollars to fix him and the higher ups at Thrive told us to to submit an insurance claim. I spent hours trying to gather all the information to do this just to be told "we did not find any malpractice, sorry". No one will call us back or try to make this right. We are now told they are not supposed to talk to us yet they fired Dr. B. Truly, we just wanted our money back from the neuter and was hoping they would pay for our emergency bills as well. We were left with nothing and people taking weeks to get back to us to just say they are not allowed to talk about it. It is absolutely disgusting how we have been treated. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Stay far away from these disgusting people. The fact that dr b was allowed to perform surgery is insane and the fact that he was fired speaks VOLUMES. 5k down the drain and no help from anyone. Such a disgrace. read more

I have years of perfect results and experiences with so many different conditions with my dogs, cats, and rabbits. He is innovative and progressive. All of the people who work at Thrive in Elmhurst are great at their jobs and with my dogs. I feel in very good hands with everyone there. I will never go back, run from this place do yourself a favor. l made an appointment for nail trimmimg for my dog, only to find out, AFTER arriving to the appointment, they would not trim my dogs nails without an annual exam. they even wasted my time checking into the appointment as if I was getting an exam, fully knowing I was only there for a nail trim. My dog was recently seen and uo to date on his vaccines and they said "go there to get his nails trimmed, we won't do it without a you paying for an annual exam". SCAMMERS!! read more

Amazing place! The best vet I've ever been to in my year in Illinois. The staff are exceptional and are extremely welcoming to you and your pet. They definitely don't treat you like a number like they tend to do at bigger chain vets. They are also very transparent about prices and give you options in a no pressure environment. I was kind of frazzled and couldn't find all the paperwork I needed, and even though they were super busy they told me no worries and to take all the time I need to find the paperwork and even email or text them if I needed anything. They were also able to write up a health/travel certificate right away and make sure I had everything I needed for our move back to California. If I was staying in Illinois, this would be my permanent vet. Thank you so much for being such a warm, welcoming environment. This is a new vet in Elmhurst but it is needed. They offer a no pressure approach and work within your budget. I never felt pressured and got the honest info I needed to make a informed decision. They offered me to drop off my dog for no contact or I could be in the exam room with him. The parking is easy and the entire staff took covid precautions. The appointment was booked by phone but it can be online also. This is a chain so initial contact will be a Central office but once there it is hands on and direct contact with the Elmhurst branch. I am so glad they opened here and highly recommend giving them a opportunity to impress you with there animal care skills. read more

I've been bringing my Beagle/Border Collie since they opened. I've had great experiences each time, but today made me a loyal customer. I had to put down my 15 year old Shih Tzu. Dr. Draca is fantastic! The whole experience was as good as it could be, under the circumstances. Everyone made me feel so welcome & that they understood our distress. They had led candles in the room and a bell to ring when we were ready. I can't thank them enough for their compassion and the care they took with my little angel. read more
