When we got there we found the caboose had no bathroom, just an outhouse outside, if you needed heat you had to start a fire in an antique stove. The beds were bunk beds not like nice one kids have more like metal bunks from a submarine. The paint was peeling off the walls. And for breakfast a casserole. All this cost is a whopping $140.

What a pleasant surprised and I would definitely make the trip back with my wife for a romantic get-a-way. The Inn is very down home feeling, roomy and comfortable. The owner is very accommodating and goes the extra mile to make your stay a pleasant one. She asked us what time we wanted breakfast served and we told her we planned to get up at 4:30 and leave by 5am to go fishing so we won't be having breakfast. She offered to get up that early and make us breakfast but we insisted it wasn't necessary. In the morning to our surprise the owner was up and had made us a light lunch to take on the boat with us. We greatly appreciated her going the extra mile even when we insisted she didn't have too. Super nice owner and what a wonderful place to stay. Don't hesitate to stay here.

Nice looking cabins from outside. Inside, the floor had a coating of sand all over it. Warning…read moresigns all over about dirty dishes, the toilet, etc. The furnace was either on or off. The thermostat did not work at all. Their TV system only seems to pickup about four stations, and never the ones we wanted to watch. There was no towels or sheets or pillow cases. We had to go ask for them. It seemed like a great inconvenience to the person in the office. They had to get the oldest, most worn out towels and pillow cases they had. They charged us $10 for for the Wi-Fi password for really bad Wi-Fi service. The pillows were the most flat things we ever saw. Why bother? The one large bed and the pull out bed both had springs to stick in your back. The bathroom had no working lights so a worker put in one new light bulb, we needed two. All the other lights were very dim, could have been dirty light fixtures. You will not want to take a shower in that bathroom. It is dirty, has cracked tile and rust stains all over. We reserved this place through Hotels.com, paid for and have email receipts of "paid in full." But they said Hotels.com is wrong and we owed them another $32 added to our bill. This is a very shady way to do business and we would not recommend this place to anyone. It's dirty, needs light bulbs and fixtures, needs repair and they will charge you for anything they can get away with. Also, to rent the pontoon boat parked out front was another $120 per hour! What a rip off. This place stinks!

The front office is full of barking, yelping little dogs; to the point you can't talk. Outside are two cats who appear to have mange (owned by the owners). The rooms? Initially the screen door locked me out for no reason and the owner makes no apologies. The carpets smell like saturated wet dog, there's cobwebs everywhere, TV and barking dog blares in your room from the neighbor next door, the shower and shower curtain were completely dirty/muddy and full of soap scum. There was white crap (maybe just dog slobber?) spewed all over the brown blanket on the bed. Honestly, it WAS that bad!! The owners were completely rude when I politely asked for something cleaner, telling me to get a refund. (I guess the answer was "no, they couldn't accommodate). The only good thing was that I got 1/2 the money back. Insanely awful!!!

On my most recent trip, I refilled my water bottle at the designated refill station, and unfortunately the water had a metallic after taste. I wish I had sipped it before we left so I could've notified the staff and/or purchased a water bottle from the vending machines.

Plenty of restrooms with dirty well water in the bowls that makes it look not flushed. Nice area for a dog run and for kids and adults to stretch out. There's also plenty of picnic tables for a snack break too. You can see signs of spring in the 3 gardens surrounding the welcome center as well. It's nice and cool or as fancy as some I have been to in other states, like Ohio with food courts and the like, but it serves its function.
