So, I stopped by this place looking to price some equipment and get some ideas for an organic hydro veggie garden. The sales reps. were awesome. I was a little intimidate walking into the shop; but, was immediately put at ease. I asked many questions which David and Shaun, were patient enough to answer. Their answers were straight forward and to the point and they never made me feel as though I was asking a dumb question. They offered suggestions and explained their products and set ups. I was looking for a specific product and called the shop directly. They were very polite and confirmed that they had it in stock and gave me the price. I drove out there and picked up 2 bags of the dirt I needed (very reasonably priced) and was done in a few minutes. Very easy and lots of parking. They also have carts to help you with the heavy stuff. The only confusing part was when I pulled up to the building (in a business park) it looked closed. You have to go behind the building and you'll see it's basically a warehouse in the back of their building. And it's all well organized. Thank you! read more

I love Greencoast, not only do they have a great staff, my personal favorite is "boots" but they have a great selection. I've been shopping at greencoast for over a year now and to watch this mom & pop hydro shop grow has been very inspiring. I shop at greencoast for the community garden that I belong to on 5th st. And also for my home garden. what I appreciate most is the informative sales staff, if I have any questions they walk me through it all and I don't feel insecure about asking anthing. For example I had no idea how to calibrate my ph meter so one of the sales guys took a meter out and showed me hands on exactly how to do it step by step. greencoast has alot to offer you, for the begginers to the advanced growers. I would never shop anywhere else...they have the best prices and the enviornment is refreshing and HIP.. every time they come through for me!! I was calling some shops in my town looking for Azamax and all I could find was the 1Quart size, but all I needed was a little bit. So I decided to stop being lazy and go ahead and make the drive to the LBC GreenCoast, sure enough they only had Quarts or more as well, BUT they quickly helped solve my problem by filling up a smaller bottle with just the amount I needed!! Now that's what I call good customer service, not one of the other spots offered to do that for me. Never ever go to this store unless you plan on ignoring any and all advice they give. We had about $3,000 in plants almost to harvest and had a bug issue. We went to our local Green Coast (now out of business, go figure) in Escondido. We were greeted by a man who claimed to know all about growing and that he knew exactly what we needed. After about 30 minutes of him talking about his you tube blog and other things we bought the fogger he had instructed we buy. The next day our ENTIRE crop was dead. After revisiting the store we were told that the fogger we were instructed to buy was not meant for our situation and was about 25 times more potent than we needed. After calling Corporate and talking with as high up the food chain I could go. I was given a credit for free dirt (and a ton of attitude) to try and rebuild the months of work, time and money lost.... Thanks GreenCoast. Wish I could give 0 stars. read more

my first trip to Green Coast hydro Long beach was fair. It was at a time when music was blasting and could barley hear myself think. And I love loud music . Anyway nobody asked if i needed help and there was but 2 people in the shop at the time (customers). So NO it wasn't busy at all One of the guys ended up searching for the bald guy that seemed to be the manager. I needed a product and bald dude pulls out the more expansive bottle and never mentioned or recommend the bottle of other solution that was $10 bucks cheaper that would work just fine right next to the one he grabbed (cleaning solution). And I even asked for something cheaper and i even mentioned the Hanna solution. And dude so no it wont work. LOL! WTF! He seemed abit inpatient as well. (Mind you this solution interaction with bald guy lasted but 60seconds) I ended up just getting some ph down and left. And No I'm NOT a NOVICE. I must say the prices are pretty good. Some of the Lowest and cant argue with that. So I went in again for the second time. Again No employee sitting on there Buttocks asked if I needed assistance. But the dude that I asked was pleasant. And as I was leaving the bald guy asked If i found everything I was looking for with a smile. If they greeted you as well when you walk in as they did when I left they could be great. And NO i was Not a Asshole to anyone. And Yes I will shop there again. We all have our on and Off days. But to some of the employees, get off your ass and get a fucking broom read more

This is my number one. After searching various locations in the South L.A. Area I found the one recurring predicament was the lack of customer service and slim selection of nutrients. This was not the case for Green Coast Hydro in Long Beach. Incredibly helpful staff and large inventory. My go to sales rep. is a guy named David, he always points me in the right direction and has provided a number of "how to" tips that keep my garden producing quality. Service I personally got wasn't good, but i've had even worse service at the orange location by some shit head with glasses and a pit bull. If your there and not spending a large amount, they don't really give you the time of day. And if they get a feeling your beginner, rather then really trying to teach you something they just act like your stupid. But, prices aren't bad and array of products are decent. My first trip to GreenCoast Hydroponics in Long Beach was during lunch time (not mine) and I felt as unwelcome as an uninvited diner guest at Fat Albert's birthday party. I was greeted with glaring eyes and felt as if I wasn't the type of individual that was welcomed (even though I wasn't there to eat). I reluctantly continued inside in search of the product I came to purchase. After a walk around the store, I walked another because I couldn't find anything I was looking for. I then stood there ignorantly staring upwards towards the lights thinking to myself, "Should I leave or should I interrupt their lunch and ask for help?" Honestly, I'd have opted for the later as I'm the type of shopper who values customer service first and foremost, but as if they were reading my mind, an associate leapt forward to offer the wayward customer some help. The sales associate was able to help me find everything that I was looking to purchase so paid and began my trek home. After arriving home and measuring the space again, I realized that my mind wasn't in the right place when the project began and my measurements were wrong. I made another journey back to GreenCoast in Long Beach the next weekend to exchange part of the product. I also brought the rest of the product back to the store as I saw it listed at a competitor for less and was seeking a price match. Sadly, the product I needed to exchange was sold out so I had to return the original. When I began asking about a price match for the remaining product, I was greeted with silence as the associate became mute while he issued my refund. Really? There is a huge warehouse with so much product and you'd rather let it sit on the shelves than sell it for what I can drive across town and purchase it for? I ended up finding the product I needed at a local competitor which I will continue to patronize as they respond to their customers in a way that suits me better. read more

Greencoast Hydro's staff is the most helpful staff anyone could ask for in a hydro store. Through their advice my plants are now reaching towards the sky. The results I have achieved over the years never could have been realized without their tips, recipes and knowledge. The new store is a modern hydro marvel. They have everything anyone could ever use in a growroom. Looking around the store though I see a lot of new faces trying their hand at hydro, people like this Larry L. guy. Its unfortunate that alot of new hydro faces expect everything to be spoon fed to them. They don't respect the process of trial and error, they basically expect greencoast employees to do nothing short of growing their plants for them. It's unfortunate that people like Larry L. have too much time on their hands to write hateful reviews for a place that is basically the mecca of hydro. Maybe if this moron Larry L spent a little more time in his growroom instead of in his mother's basement on the internet he might be a little more successful. I have transacted withThis business on several occasions. I have friends that have actually worked for this group and I have some insider knowledge that others may not have. I feel it as a duty to warn people about the way Green Coast operates. If you are a compassionate provider of natural healthcare products then you need to know this group shares none of your compassionate values. In addition from the business perspective, I have found their methods of quoting price for products to be deceptive and illusive. The staff, though nice and easy to talk to have provided me wrong information to the tune of actually causing loss on a grand scale. When I brought this up with the management, they were indifferent at best but smug is a more accurate. Thus if you take advise then double check the source. Beware of quotes that do not include prices for the individual products. They actually cut the prices out of paperwork when they present a bid so you cannot see the individual prices for products. Do not believe the reviews. I know by what I have been told that this business manipulates the yelp system by writing bogus reviews by in house staff. Peace and good luck read more

Always plenty of workers to answer questions and help you out. I just came in today and i felt compelled to write a review. I came in asking about this new product i heard about and they told me they had none for sale but that they did have some free samples since it was so new. When this store first opened two years ago, the owner and his wife were always in. They were friendly and helpful and grateful for the business. Then they recently moved to their current location in a business park in Signal Hill where they hired lots of employees to run the business. Well, when the cat's away the mice will play. I came in on a sunday, and the owners were nowhere around. Only the employees and the manager. They were eating lunch. I was completely ignored by everyone except the guard dog who ran up to me and sniffed my balls while the manager casually chatted with an employee letting me sweat it out for a few seconds before reassuring me that the dog was "friendly." He didn't offer to help me though. That was up to the guy behind the counter who totally ignored me, even though I was standing right in front of him. He didn't want to be disturbed because he was eating his lunch and talking to another employee. Finally I went to the back myself and picked up a 25-pound bag of Ocean Forest potting soil and plopped it on the counter. At this point the oh-so-superior employee noticed me and told me this: "You didn't have to bring that up here. We would have got it for you!" I decided to leave and come back on a week day when the owners would presumably be there, so today, Wednesday, I went back only to find the same crew. I received the exact same treatment as before, so I have had it. I will never go back there no matter what. read more

I've been shopping at Green Coast over a year now, a friend told me about a ductless unit they had on sale for a good price. I purchased the same unit he had for my studio. I hired a certified ac guy to install it, but to unit never worked. I went back to Green Coast, they sent me to Frost Box. I thought that was a little strange, but if that would solve the problem, cool. Four months later the problem still not resolved, and not they are telling me no refunds, no nothing! WHAT? Green Coast Hydroponics sold me a defective FROST BOX Air Condition unit, and told me it's my fault that it didn't work. ??? Over a four months period and a half a dozen attempts to resolve this issue, hiring two different Air Condition specialist on multiple visits, I spent $700 for the unit, but now I'm out of over a $1,200 and losing hundreds of dollars a day on studio time. I Want My Money Back! Maybe Judge Mathis can help us resolve this issue, stay tuned, and stay away! read more
