We had a toilet that decided to fail. When I say it failed, it did so dramatically and spectacularly. To be seated in one's downstairs working on a Sunday and think that someone was upstairs showering, only to find that a toilet, without even being flushed, decided to fail and pour water through the downstairs ceiling, lights and air vents, well, let's just say, it was a hair raising Sunday. After screaming, turning off the water, and emptying an entire linen closet of towels to manage the flood, I picked up the phone and went down the list on google to find help. Admittedly, Jordan's plumbing was the first I called, but when I got a voicemail, I continued down the list. On my next call, and after speaking with a gentleman about the issue (who I maintain I had awakened from sleep), I was not satisfied. He also stated, "it would be tomorrow" before they could come out, but at that point, I had three huge yellow (fish aquarium) buckets collecting water below, watching my ceiling in such decline, and was looking for immediate help. Shortly after the gentleman and I hung up the phone, the SWEETEST lady called me back. She was in transit to church, but after being able to return a missed call, she wanted to make sure I knew that they could assist me. Her name was Rita, and she quite frankly is what initially sold me on utilizing this company. She did absolutely everything she could to calm me, reassure me, and while they could not make it to me on Sunday at a time me and Mr Jordan were mutually available, she made sure I felt confident that they could get the job done. I felt, and communicated to her, that I believed in Divine intervention, and I just knew they were the right company. In fact, so much so, I would cancel the previous work order from the first company. Today, even more promptly than I expected, I was greeted at my front door by one of the NICEST technicians, Demarkus. Let me tell you, from the moment he entered, until the moment he left, I actually felt assured that this was the right person to assist with the job at hand. The lady of the house also agreed. Demarkus assessed the situation, found what he believed to be the issue, and then made recommendations for repair while answering 10000 questions from said, lady of the house, and whom uses said possessed bathroom toilet. We agreed to move forward with the work from Jordan Plumbing even though said lady of the house can fix anything, including cars. We did so for several reasons, one being that we ensured we had the appropriate documentation for homeowners, the other being, and mostly because the service was so dang good! I know this was a long post, but sometimes understanding the full story, others can appreciate the level of services offered. Most importantly, the work that we had done was reasonably priced, even though I thought my eyes would flood like the ceiling the day before from cost of draining my wallet like that toilet drained the day before. While no one wants to pay for things like this, I am grateful that at the very least, the service alone was worth the price to pay to repair. SERVICE IS SO IMPORTANT! THE MOST IMPORTANT! They excelled on every level for service. I recommend that if you have something go wrong in your home, or you need any plumbing assistance that you contact Jordan Plumbing and Maintenance. Tl;dr: Experienced, easy to schedule with, efficient, and clean. This company works hard to keep your house running at tip top shape. We had polybutylene piping in our house and suffered from dealing with two leaks within the first year of living there. We even had to change out our flooring because there was probably a leak in the past that wasn't handled in an appropriate amount of time. We called Jordan plumbing because after dealing with the second leak, we were advised to change out the piping in our house so that we don't have to worry about spontaneous leaking. We called Jordan plumbing and scheduled someone to come out ON THE SAME DAY. That was unheard of unless in an emergency situation. The workers came and looked around at our water heater and the piping from it and they also recommended changing out the pipes on top of changing out our water heater since it was rusted and it was about time to change anyway. They also wore booties to keep our house clean while they walked through it so I thought that was a great consideration towards us. Mr. Jordan came out later that afternoon to verify the report that was given to him and he gave us a quote for the work and materials. From what we understood of the pricing based on our other repairs, that was appropriate if not cheaper than what other companies were asking. Due to the extensive work, they needed an entire day with a decent amount of crew so they scheduled us for Saturday of the same week (actually, about 4 days after our initial consult. We had plans throughout the day so we left them to it. Mr. Jordan himself oversaw the whole operation and was working with his team. He gave us appropriate check ins to make sure we knew what they were doing. They were done around 7pm and cleaned up after themselves. Mr. Jordan connected us with a sheet rock person to come and repair the drywall who offered us a competitive quote -- we ended up going with him. Jordans plumbing is overall a horrible company. The owner prices are way too high for simple things. I wanted to give him a try because it was a black owned company, but big mistake. He is very disrespectful to his employees and does not allow them to take a lunch when needed. The little workers he does have he works them to death. I feel so sorry for all those man that do work for him because he sure don't value hard working workers. For that simple reason I did not want to go through with his services. Updating my review since using Jordan Plumbing for the second time. They continue to do great work! We had Mr. Jordan come out to take a look at a sewage leak in our crawl space. He and his team made it a priority and were able to perform the repairs within a few days of our initial call. While they were replacing our rotted cast iron pipes, they noticed another issue with our kitchen sink drain and fixed that as well. Mr Jordan kept us in the loop throughout the job and answered any questions we had. He showed my husband the pipes they had replaced, and let's just say we are so glad we had Jordan Plumbing replace them when we did! The team was easy to work with and courteous. I'm not sure if it was incompetence or dishonesty, but the folks from Jordan Plumbing told me that my sewage ejector system was completely broken and that it would have to be replaced, to tune of $1800-$2300. They were ready to do the replacement immediately. Thankfully I told them that I would need a second opinion. Another local plumber came, took one look, and hit reset on the outlet that the ejector was plugged into. The ejector immediately kicked in, and it's now functioning without a problem. Instead of ~$2000, I paid $0. The plumbers tried to sell me on a completely unnecessary, costly fix, even offering to take $100 off. It makes me sick to think that I almost gave them thousands of dollars for nothing. Even if it was an honest mistake, it would have been a costly mistake for me, so I strongly caution others against using this company. They get 2 stars instead of 1 because they were able to come out the same day I called and fix another issue, though I do wish I had waited for the other plumber because he could have done it for hundreds less. read more

I'm from California and am spending time helping out my daughter who lives in Hillsborought, NC. I've phoned an electrician several months ago who told me where the GFCI reset switches are and spared me a service charge. Pretty good example of southern hospitality I thought. Today I reached out to Jordan Plumbing and the same thing happened. Jeffery told me he could not come out to day and while on the phone guided me on how to reset the hot water heater safely. He even called me back when my phone disconnected our initial call. The reset worked and I have hot water again. I don't know if this reset will solve my hot water issues for good, but I do know that I will contact Jordan Plumbing if I need further assistance. The people are so nice here! read more

This company is amazing! I called and was able to get an appointment the same day and after I got off work! They were friendly, prompt and took the time to explain what they were doing and also give you good solid advise on how to care for your system! They do not make up prices, they bring a book with the job types and what the industry standard fee for that job is so you know you are paying a fair price each and every time! They do charge a $69 service fee to come out and diagnose the problem but this is standard in the business. I highly recommend this well established plumbing company to anyone! read more

I made an appointment to have my water heater checked on a Saturday. The appointment coordinator told me the tech would be at my home between 9:00am and 11:00am. By 11:15 tHe tech had not shown and no one called me. I called their 24-hr number and got an answering machine. I waited until 12:30 but still no show/no contact. I had a sudden kitchen sink clog (resulting in sinks full of dirty, greasy water) on Saturday night and, being new to Durham, didn't know who to call. I was in a bit of a hurry to solve the problem because I have a baby at home, and no dishwasher, and the kitchen sink gets a lot of use (I finished washing the night's dishes in the bathtub, which wasn't very sustainable). Plunging and other DIY clog-clearing methods did nothing. I tried several plumbers I found online, but all said they couldn't by by until Monday at the earliest unless I paid a large emergency premium and they were also vague about the quotes, but generally said it would be approximately $300 (possibly more) to fix. Significantly more if anyone was to come before Monday. By contrast, Mr. Jordan got back to me almost immediately and was at my house in only 40 minutes to help. He quoted me an unofficial estimate over the phone, which turned out to be accurate ($69 for the service call, plus about $259 for the clearing work). It took awhile to sort out, because my clog was a bit mysterious, but Mr. Jordan snaked a full 100 feet of our pipes and ultimately solved the problem. He also replaced my P-trap (sometimes called the U-bend), and only charged $5 for the materials necessary to do that. The other plumbers I spoke to estimated similar rates, but frankly, gave me a bit of condescending attitude over the phone. Mr. Jordan was completely lovely and polite, and didn't mind me watching him work while he explained what was being done (I like to understand as much as I can about the workings of my house). And as I say, he arrived very quickly to do the work, foregoing his own dinner, and staying past 9pm to make sure the problem was solved, (again, on a Saturday night), which was pretty amazing. I recently had another plumber in to estimate on some other non-emergency work we wanted done, but wasn't happy with his lack of communication (the other plumber stopped replying to my emails and phone calls for no apparent reason, and never sent the quote he promised). Now, I plan to have Mr. Jordan do that work instead. Our sink problem wasn't cheap to solve, but I think the rates are reasonable for the market, and the service was excellent. read more

I was told I had a gas leak, and received an estimate by a large, nationally-known plumbing company.The plumber quoted me $1069.19 plus the consult fee. I called my husband, and he said we should get a second opinion because the repair did not seem as if it should be that expensive. I called Jordan Plumbing, and they immediately fit me in the same day. He came to check out my gas leak, he kept me involved and even asked me to walk up to the attic with him so he could show me what was wrong. When he was about to fix it, I was a little nervous because of what the other company quoted me. Before he started, I asked him how much it would cost, and he replied that it was a minor repair and wouldn't cost much. He showed me the pricing manual his company uses and how much it would cost to repair the gas leak- almost $1,000 less than the first company. I couldn't believe the amount he quoted me was so low. I showed him what the other company said, and he said the other company was trying to get over on me. I am so thankful for Jordan Plumbing; he saved me $1000. He took the time to involve me in the process, and the pricing was GREAT!!! I will definitely call Jordan Plumbing if I have any plumbing concerns again. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER! He unplugged a sewage access into our house and caused thousands of dollars of damage. The entire floor had to be replaced and more. When we contacted him to get his insurance information he refuses to give this to us or our insurance company. According to License Board and BBB, no one forces them to supply this information. On top of all that, he didn't fix the problem! Two days later, the toilets clogged again in the midst of all the other damage he had caused. We called another plumber out (Brown Brothers - highly recommend them) and they found the problem using a camera and fixed it. We are filing complaints with BBB and the State Board of Plumbing license as well against Jordan Plumbing. By the way, for all those good reviews about comes quickly... yes that's true and yes friendly but that does not matter when someone ruins your home and then does not take any responsibility to remedy the problem. He refuses to give insurance information or pay for damages and furthermore he is not evening responding to the BBB complaint. Skill and knowledge is even more important than promptness and courtesy. read more
