There are amazing mountain views with plenty of windows to capture the scenery. It is extremely clean and spacious with remarkable interior decorating. The Wildberry Lodge gives you the privacy of the mountains with the feel of an upscale hotel. The amenities include a hot tub with stunning views as well as the best basement man cave that includes a pool table, shuffle board, and unique amenities like an old school Scrabble board. The breakfast features fresh fruit, delicious eggs, potatoes, and a variety of juices. We are not the typical frustrated novelist who always post reviews. However, we had an amazing weekend and confident you will have a similar experience.

Can not describe our visit here! Everything was superb and everything we imagined it would be!…read more Ken and Glenda are the sweetest hosts I've ever met! During our trip to Asheville we wanted to experience the city but also have cabin time. Wildberry lodge provided us with the most relaxing and comfortable experience we could ever ask for. Wild berry is definitely a way to get out of the city and just enjoy the quietness of nature (without going too far of course!) The drive itself is around 25-30 mins from downtown Asheville - there are several ways to get here but the new foundland road was probably the best route. It's easy to stay in the cabin and go enjoy yourself in the city during the day or evening. Ken and Glenda were very hands off and so friendly - if you have questions on where to go or what to do they can accommodate everything! The main cabin has multiple rooms - gooseberry and some other room options. This is where you check in, get breakfast, game room, sit on the deck, coffee/cider bar and chit chat with other guests if your heart desires. The best part of our stay was Glenda's breakfasts! Her recipes were featured in an Asheville bed and breakfast recipe book! We signed up for a bfast time the day prior (anywhere from 8am-930am) and she is usually ready whenever we get there! Our first breakfast included - garden frittata, bacon, homemade English muffin, rosemary roasted potatoes and to finish it off - poached pear. Our second breakfast included pumpkin pecan pancakes, cranberry/apple chutney and sausages and ended it with a mixed berry cobbler. Everything was superb and very filling! We stayed in the honey moon suite to get the full cabin - on our own - experience and it was gorgeous! The bed is super comfy, everything was clean and up to date. It was almost like glamping! Only downside to our visit was the drive at night can be a bit scary if you are not use to driving on mountains. One of the first nights it was raining so it was slightly difficult coming back to the cabin from downtown Asheville. Just make sure you have a car and drive safely! After the initial drive you will get use to it and it should be easier' Other than that - this is a place worth splurging on and visiting!' Thanks Ken and Glenda!!

Service was exceptional. The main reason I'm writing this review is because of the understanding & speed at which this situation was handled. My son, who has autism, left his most-valued stuffed animal in the room when we checked out. I called in absolute panic the following day & long story short, they located it & are sending it back to us. The tears of joy that I've shed. Thank you so very much! He would be lost without his best buddy!

Upon check-in, we were welcomed with the Biltmore champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a book about the estate--such thoughtful touches that made us feel instantly celebrated. Our room was beautiful, and the bed was incredibly comfortable--exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The only minor downsides were the lack of accessible outlets for charging devices and no easy way to grab ice unless you called the operator or waited for housekeeping. We also noticed that sound traveled a bit--you can hear hallway noise due to the gap under the door. That said, the experience overall was exceptional. There's so much to do on the estate. The highlight for us was the complimentary wine tasting at Antler Hill Village--nearly an hour with 8 tastings per person, which honestly felt like such a great deal. We also rented bikes to explore the property, which was a fun and scenic way to take everything in. While there are several dining options, reservations are definitely needed--probably the only logistical wrinkle during our stay. One thing we really appreciated was the shuttle system around the estate. It made getting to places like the Biltmore House incredibly easy and stress-free.

The time was after midnight and we had our young daughter there and the temperature was freezing. So very bad experience.

When we began the checkin process, there were two young ladies working at the front desk, one was assisting other guests, the other was standing with her arms crossed and took several minutes to address us. We told her that we'd like a room for one night and she began the check-in process. Finishing up, she said that there was a $150 cash deposit that was required, which seemed strange. We asked if we could put it on a credit card because who, nowadays, carries cash, it's rare. She said she'd have to call her manager, she called and was approved to allow us to use a credit card for a deposit but that it would take 3-21 days to be refunded for the deposit, again, weird. We got to our room, showered, the water took a while to get to temperature, which I see now in other reviews, the bath linens were stained, again, it's been stated in other reviews so it seems to be a common occurrence. Finally, we checked out this morning and mentioned to the front desk lady about our stay and inquired about the cash deposit because it still wasn't sitting well with us, she said that they require a cash deposit because there's local people that stay there that do drugs and their deposits aren't covered by their damages from their stay. Be aware if you're staying here.

Had a very relaxing stay here!…read more We checked in really late and had called ahead to make sure that would be okay. The staff member I spoke with (only not mentioning the name here to respect their privacy) was lovely! We were sent an email with instructions and our keys were left exactly where the email said they would be. We had a woodland cottage. Clean, rustic and spacious, with a charming porch. I'm unclear as to the complaints by other reviewers here about the lack of a tv, or telephone or WiFi. That clearly isn't the point of this place. There are a ton of other places in Asheville with all the traditional hotel amenities. It's nice that they are environmentally conscious and only refresh the rooms every 3 days on a 5 day stay. I would prefer a 2 day refresh personally, but can certainly appreciate the effort. A lot of major hotel chains now also don't refresh towels daily or give guests the choice. Only complaint I had was no additional meals are served or available but I was told that was in the works.

Don't let the pictures fool you like they did me…read more The place is barely being kept up. The outside is in dire need of a paint job. Inside the entrance your greeted by two school desks. One friendly girl was behind one to the right, while later a grumpier older lady to the left. They say it's been open for a year already, but really I'm surprised it's open at all. For over $200 a night it was not worth it!! I arrived early and asked about an earlier check in, a couple hours before 4pm. They said it would be an extra $25 charge. I said no thank you, as i only wanted to leave my things in the room and go downtown Asheville. The young lady gave us a tour of the "sanctuary" and she was very sweet. She showed us where they teach classes, and have the sauna. One of the major reasons I considered this place. Sounds nice, right? Think again... the separate building, an up hill walk from their building. They have Yoga classes / chi-gong (only held in the morning) on what seams like a nice wood floor. This other building was under a serious re-model & I would not have found it fit for any guest to walk through. The rooms upstairs of this building for the most, were filled with ideas of what's to come.. the salt room, steam shower. It was a mess!! The only semi finished room was the sauna. I think they made a make shift room for it in a closet. The friendly girl giving the tour said she was getting requests from guests to use it, but that she needed to do a serious cleaning first and hoped it would be ready. Let me paint a picture for you.. No towels to sit on or pat off the feeling of sweat dripping off you. No shower. Having to walk from your room up hill to a distant building only to get hot & sweaty and walk back to your room. What about clothes? Is it a co-ed sauna? Bathing suits? Is it clean? Usually you have a towel to sit on. Do you bring a change of clothes for walking back to your room only to get them sweaty. Is there a changing room? ..because I didn't see one. It seams like they have many concepts that are nice, but not all together. The room... We got back from the tour, a different lady said we could put our things in the room, but our fireplace isn't working. I walk in to see two ladies on their hands and knees saying "we might have to call someone" as they are trying to fix the fireplace. We left our things. When we came back, luckily the fireplace was up and running. The room had a pretty big bathroom with a big tub and shower. The tub was dirty and I had to clean it. Make sure if you're going to take a bath to have extra time to not only clean it, but to fill the tub. It must have taken almost an hour. Slow going but it was nice and hot. The beds were decent, but the pillows were hard and almost better without one. There was really nothing in the room for entertainment or to keep you on schedule. No clock, no radio, no phone, no tv. Just the fireplace and WiFi. It was cold in the room so we went downstairs to get extra blankets. The older lady looked at us like we were crazy when we said we wanted 3 blankets since we only had a light thin blanket for two separate beds. She said you know there is a thermostat. That was a surprise to us. Still we wanted an extra blanket just in case. She made it seam like it was an imposition. Breakfast.. - One of the better things about this place! - Fresh and delicious My mom enjoyed the classes the next day Yoga Chi-gong I was happier to leave! Just know that what they have in reality is different from what they advertise.

The pricing was fair for the dogs in the rooms where the people were blocked were near the Expo center, which was very convenient for attendance the pet fee to attend the convention was a fair price I did not have my dog in my room as I booked a suite and found that suite was in a completely different building than all of my friends that would've been nice to know prior to booking it as it was at the most extreme opposite end literally not a room that was further away so each time I went to the dog show it felt like I walked a country mile as I probably did there and back I explained that I did not have my dog in my room that my dog was staying in an RV and they took my dog feet off, but then they rebuilt me it again, so I'm still having difficulty removing the charge. We ate in the restaurant in the mornings The staff was friendly. The menu had a lot to choose from. I chose the brunch most days. If you get your eggs cooked, however you wanted or you could pick from what was already premade on the brunch and then warming pans.. I went to the bar a couple nights. I did order the free chicken wings that I got when I checked in. I would highly recommend them I would pay for them. They were huge well seasoned neck super greasy well presented. As far as my room, my room was lovely. It was very clean. I have to say that for the whole hotel this may be one of the most well cleaned hotels that I've stayed in in three years. Immaculate. The showers were weird they have renovated and they have obviously cut corners doing it. The light switch plates are drilled weird the plumbing is odd, but it'll take odd with super clean rooms anytime. I stay here again... Yes, if there was a dog show no if I was looking for a resort it just didn't offer enough resort tea type of high end things. Like the weird light switches and the super low toilet and the super low shower controls. Those were a turn off for me.
