I have shopped at this Green's for several years now. I split my shopping between there and Tower on Piedmont. I primarily shop for beer, craft beer in particular. In the past I have had problems with buying stuff there and not paying attention to the dates on it. I have found many things past their best by date there. I learned to check all dates on the beer I buy there to be safe as they will leave it on the shelf forever it seems. More recently I had a major problem there. I had gone in and bought 2 large bottles of beer. I had these beers before and I wanted a couple more bottles to put down and age. I purchased them at about $10 a piece, they put them into one paper bag and I left. Walked to my car which was maybe 20 feet from the door of the building and took them home. These were not refrigerated bottles and had no condensation on them. When I got home I had more stuff to get out of the car so I couldn't hold them from the bottom of the bag. So I held it from the top, gripping one of the bottles to reduce the weight on the bag, got one step away from the car and the other bottle fell through and shattered sending glass and beer everywhere in the carport. I called back and spoke with the manager on duty who was Xykia, I did not get the actual spelling of this name so it may be wrong, who upon telling what happened stated "I can't do anything for you." I hadn't even asked for anything at this point. I then said you can't put a bottle aside for me so I can come get it in the next few days because there were only a few left. She looked in their system and said they had 41 bottles. I said well I guess you have some in back stock and she hung up. When I went to the store again I spoke with the assistant manager who I believe was John. I told him what happened and he nodded a lot but didn't offer any real solution or assistance. The only thing he did was give me 5% off a new bottle. I told him I likely would never shop there after buying that bottle, which I had to purchase there because it was the only place that had it. Bottom line too many bad experiences buying expired beer and then someone with a management position who gets defensive and says they can't help me when I haven't even asked for anything means I will never shop there again. They may not care but I routinely spend anywhere from $60 to $100 when I shop for beer and do that a couple times a month. Tower has always been friendly to me and even when I bought expired beer at Tower they have let me exchange it for something else when I brought it back. The selection is better, the store cleaner, and the people friendlier. Do yourself a favor and head over to Piedmont Rd. read more

Green's is always fun. I've only been to this location once. It's definitely pretty quiet, especially compared to the location on Ponce. I think the selection is definitely smaller. I usually buy wine at the DeKalb Farmer's Market, but I buy beer here. The night I went I was looking for an amazing gingery beer I've had a few times in Athens, GA. I can't remember the name, but I think it might have had a tiger on it? If you have any idea, please message me. Anyway, their prices are great and if you pay cash you can save a few cents more. I ended up getting Sierra Nevada's Kellerweis, which I now recommend. I also noticed they have Brasserie Caracole here. I've tried Saxo and Nostradamus and both were good. read more

Do you ever go to Green's on Ponce and think to yourself, holy crap the prices are great but everything else about this place sucks! Well, my friend, you are in luck as Green's on Buford is everything the other Green's is not. The service is great. Need to get some help carrying all that brewski out to your car? No problem. Need help getting the right non Californian chardonnay? No problem. The staff is overly friendly and very resourceful. The selection is vast and well priced. The only thing that is hardly a gripe is making a left out of the parking lot. For me this place has been a nice getaway to find interesting beers and great dinner wine. read more

Aside from the less-than-comfortable entry/exit to the Green's-Buford Highway location, this is one of the best stores that I have ever shopped for beer. As a matter of fact, this is one of the few locations that gets in one of my yearly special-release beers that I just cannot get at many other places. Good customer service is always available if it is needed, but it has never seemed pushy or forceful. These guys have a knack for stocking good beer and while it may seem like they have anything that you could hope to look for, they actually seem to focus more on quality and simply stocking beer for the sheer sake of occupying SKUs. When something special hits, it seems like the new factor and reputation are what brings in the most beers and I have grown confident that Green's will have the special release that I am looking for before almost anyone else in the area... and that is if anyone else even gets it! Wines and spirits are both solid here and they have a great selection of choices at almost every price point in every category. It is a nice touch to get their routine mailer/newsletter that notifies customers of special prices and provides education about various types of products or other pertinent information. Prices are also dependent on your method of payment. Paying with cash will save you a bit while paying credit or debit will cost you a little bit more. The store may not be huge, but they sure have organized a lot out on the sales floor. As out-of-the-way as this location may be for me, I still find myself going back for special releases and hard-to-find gems. read more

One of the best Liquor stores I've been to in my life. The first time I went I was amazed by the selection of beer they had. Since I've started drinking wine recently I've been scoping the selection and they have everything I've wanted or needed. My girlfriend and I inquired on a wine we had at dinner one night they didn't have it on hand but they made some calls and said they could have in 3 days for a very reasonable price. This is definitely my preferred beverage store. Great selections - fair prices. They usually get a lot of the limited releases by both local breweries as well as craft breweries from around the U.S. The Parking lot (especially making a left onto Burford Highway coming out) can be a bit of a heart attack in that you cannot see cars speeding around a curve. Also - cars tend to block the entire ingress when trying to get out so you cannot pull in. I've witnessed several near collisions here. read more

green's is awesome. by far the best selection, staff, and prices in atlanta. temp & humidity controlled wine room in the back that stores some real gems if you're a connoisseur with the funds (i'm not), and just about every flavor and variety of every liquor you can possibly imagine. need froot loop flavored vodka? they have it. blood orange bitters? yep. high end margarita mixes made with actual fruit juices? several varieties. obscure belgian beers? on the left side in the back of the store. you get the idea.. this isn't your average package store. their staff are very helpful if you're needing advice, and discount prices if you pay with cash. read more

They have a great selection here. I came in for a last minute booze run for a New year's get together, and found what I was looking for. My only gripe is the parking lot. Do not buy fine wine here. I bought a $200 bottle of 1990 ridge that was bad. When I went back to give them a chance to address the issue, they insisted I have the bottle. As we took it to a restaurant to celebrate our engagement, we didn't even think to retrieve the bottle. While I understand their desire to have the bottle, not even offering to address the situation (discounts, etc) was pathetic. They will lose my business, and my friends, which will far outweigh $200. read more

This liquor store is the best in the area. I went there for the first time yesterday to pick up a bottle of wine to go with dinner. They have an "on sale" section in the wine department and I picked up a bottle of wine for $9. They have tags that explain what the wine is and what it pairs well with. They have the largest wine selection around. Literally isles of wine. An employee asked if i need help and told him what i was having for dinner. He showed me a bottle he recommended at a comparable price range. The wine was amazing especially for $10. read more

I have never took time out to Yelp but I need to give GREEN's employees a BIG THUMBS UP! I am in Henry County saw on yelp Towers on Piedmont had the best prices,SMDH,Not in a million years! They are drunk heads posting lies because I drove there last night and walked around the store. First, I got no help until I went over were a guy was standing checking items and he asked if I needed help. I asked,were was the cheap prices people were talking about,lol,and decided to walk out. Well I headed to the nearest liquor store which was Green's and WOW,,let me tell you the staf Daphne,Marsha,Ernest was the Greatest! Daphne helped me with my list and brought things to my attention that I would had never paid attention to like a bottle of southern comfort in plastics which was cheaper than the glass bottle. So Daphne A Big Thank You for all you did last night..Crazy Ernest thanks for taking my boxes to the car! And Marsha thank you for being a great cashier!
