I used their app to place my takeout order ahead of time, on the off chance they might be slammed Sunday evening. Great to do this which enables one to view their up to date menu offerings and also accrue points with purchase. Welcoming and upbeat folks at the counter. Nice set up with covered outdoor seating and ample indoor seating too. Looks like there's also live music onsite. My order was being packaged as I did a quick look see. In addition to their bevs & eats menu, there's homemade from scratch desserts, merch, and bottles of wine available for purchase. I really enjoyed my takeout once I got back to East Bremerton. The Beefster was generously made with tasty roast beef, melty provolone cheese, caramelized onions, greens on a soft roll. I also tried a cup of their clam chowder. Chockful of clams, bacon, potatoes & clam nectar. Thin consistency but delicious! Perfect with added black pepper and oyster crackers provided. The epic exclamation point was the Iced Spiced Baby, essentially a sizable oatmeal craisin sandwich cookie filled with cream cheese frosting. Cross between a sandwich cookie and whoopie pie and not overly sweet. They've been open since October 2025 and as mentioned a worthy detour off Hwy 3 from Bremerton, Silverdale or Keyport. I intend to stop by again in the near future to provide lunch for medical clinic staff in Poulsbo.

That day we've been having a progressive eating mindset on our drive from Shoreline, Seattle, Tukwila, and now Bremerton. We had better restraint and bought only two Teriyaki Spam and one Hawaiian Hot Dog musubis, plus a bag of Li Hing gummies. Their menu features several musubis and refreshing beverages. I also enjoyed my brief convo with one of the owners, Jamie Cancel. There's something really welcoming when meeting indie business owners whether from Oahu, Kauai, Maui, the Big Island or on the mainland. It's that genuine sense of ohana or family I've consistently experienced. Musubis were nicely wrapped and piping hot. That day it was sunny and breezy leaving Cafe Kai with the goods. Instead of saying anything kind, Myla complained to the cooks about me complaining about my fries were too salty. She made jokes aloud while the cooks laughed. I was standing there the entire time patiently while she was tormenting me. Meanwhile, Myla was helping other customers with the upmost respect because at that point she noticed I recorded our interaction. The food was remade and not a word said when she handed it to me. My husband then went to ask for the cooks name and Myla's and while they're waiting he overheard them talking about my appearance and making fun of the interaction. Will not be returning because I don't codone discrimination, bullying or torment in any business no matter how a person personally feels because of a very minor issue.
