My husband and I have been coming here since we moved here. Great service, great food, and great ambiance. Today however lines were crossed in the most unprofessional, rude, unwelcoming and disrespectful manner. My husband initially went to go order our food but unfortunately this time he experienced Myla, the cashier, continuously talking over him while ordering. Although we've experienced her behavior before we would just brush it off. I received the dynamite fries and couldn't eat them because everything was soaked in unagi sauce which many may know it can be salty when your food is drenched in it. I then went to the counter politely apologizing for even complaining but would like to have the food remade with less unagi sauce. Instead of saying anything kind, Myla complained to the cooks about me complaining about my fries were too salty. She made jokes aloud while the cooks laughed. I was standing there the entire time patiently while she was tormenting me. Meanwhile, Myla was helping other customers with the upmost respect because at that point she noticed I recorded our interaction. The food was remade and not a word said when she handed it to me. My husband then went to ask for the cooks name and Myla's and while they're waiting he overheard them talking about my appearance and making fun of the interaction. Extremely disappointing experience at Pop Up Kitchen. From the moment I interacted with Myla, the cashier, I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. Her tone and attitude came across as dismissive, unnecessarily rude, and completely unprofessional. I understand that customer service can be stressful, but there is no reason for a customer to be treated as though they are an inconvenience simply for coming in and spending their money. What made the experience particularly upsetting was the difference in the way I felt I was being treated compared with the general atmosphere around me. I left the interaction feeling that my race played a role in how I was treated, which is an incredibly uncomfortable feeling to have as a paying customer. Whether intentional or not, the behavior came across as discriminatory and made me question whether I was genuinely welcome there. Myla did not make any effort to provide a friendly or respectful customer service experience. Instead, her demeanor felt cold, dismissive, and confrontational. There is a major difference between being busy or having a bad day and making a customer feel singled out or unwelcome. I normally try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt, but this interaction was bad enough that I would seriously reconsider returning. Management should take customer complaints like this seriously and make sure employees understand that every customer deserves to be treated with basic courtesy and respect, regardless of their race or background. Pop Up Kitchen is a small collection of different stalls serving a variety of different food from Hawaii and various Asian countries. We weren't planning on eating here but after getting boba at Boba Buddies, we browsed through the food menu and found a couple of items that interested us. We eventually settled on the combo plate. Pop Up Kitchen is essentially the 2nd half of Peter's Kitchen, connected by a entrance way in the middle. There's open seating and food will find it's way to the table of choice with no issues no matter which side it's ordered from. Combo Plate w/ Sisig and Lechon Kawali ($18.95) - This dish comes with meat, rice, and two sides. For the sides we went with the Mac Salad and the Seaweed Salad. The Mac Salad is mayo creamy, sweet, and a little tangy. The macaroni isn't too far overcooked, so there's some texture. The seaweed salad is nice - the seaweed has a kind of crisp bite with a rubbery chew, and the sauce is very tangy, a bit sweet, with a tiny hint of chili spice and sesame. The rice is just okay - a good vessel for all the other food, but feels a bit on the dry side. The lechon is really nice. It looks fantastically moist upon first glance, and follows that up with a very tender and fatty bite. It seems to be a cube of pork belly that's deeply scored, fried, and then sliced. The fry on the outside is exceptional. There's a great crisp on the skin without becoming tough and rubbery as I've had with some other lechon. I love how they serve both end pieces to get maximal fried skin. In terms of flavor - there isn't much other than the natural pork flavor. I feel like they didn't even add any salt. But that's why they serve it with Fina'denne' that adds the requisite moisture, and also flavor from chilis, salt and umami from soy sauce, and quite a bit of vinegar acidity. The sisig is not fried nearly as hard as the lechon. The pork belly, again porky, tender, and fatty, is cut into small cubes, then fried with onion and scallion. It doesn't seem to be seasoned very much at the top, but then the vinegar sauce starts building towards the bottom of the pile. We had some leftover that we ate for dinner and the vinegar became really strong at that point - a little too much tanginess for us to be honest. The portion size is gigantic. We shared this single dish between two people and we still had leftovers. I think everything they serve has huge portions - we looked in amazement at the table next to us as the waitress brought over gigantic plates of katsu curry and omurice. (5/5) I really enjoyed my visit to Pop Up Kitchen. I wasn't expecting to find something like this in Silverdale. Entrees are reasonably priced for the area ($15-$20) and the portions are large enough for at least two people. I would definitely visit again next time I'm in the area. My husband and I tried Pop Up Kitchen on a quiet Monday afternoon as I had heard great things! He ordered the wings and I ordered the strogatoni which was recommended to me as I was torn between the carbanara and strogatoni. The wings had a great crunch, but they were just "ok" wings. I felt they could've had a bit more spice or flavor as they reminded me of the typical garlic honey wings you'd get from a pizza joint. The strogatoni was a let down. It might be because we cook meat a lot at our home, but the meat was so dry and stringy it became hard to swallow in contrast to the pasta. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was good but could've used a bit of salt. The concept is excellent. A "food court" surrounding tables. You order at any of the counters and then sit and eat with your friends. The options are mostly Korean or a Korean take on Japanese food, but there's also a bubble tea place. That's where the good stop. Despite the huge area devoted to the kitchen, half of our party had to wait 1hr + for food, while the other half received their food and had had time to finish their meal. Eventually, the last dinner in our group just got too tired of waiting and we all left, and she went hungry. This was... early on a Sunday night. Not exactly the most busy night of the week! The food that was delivered to us was mediocre. The bubble teas tasted like cheap syrup, sugar, and water - no actual tea or flavor there, despite the price tag. The food was generally subpar for a food-court, with flavors that fell flat and the cheapest ingredients, and no care to presentation. For instance, my sushi-style rolls came lazily assembled and irregularly shaped, and contained very little filling except for a lot of thick, goopy BBQ eel sauce. Basically, rice and sauce. One of the rolls contained eel, and it was cut so thin a filet that it was almost just gooey skin, and it tasted fishy and not fresh (and I've had good eel, so I know how it can be like!). One of the dishes (chive pancakes) we had to send back, on account of having been served undercooked. The place is extremely popular young people, and in particular families with babies and small children. As such, it is deafeningly loud. If that's your jam, you'll love the ambiance. But something could have been done to cut down the echo and make it less loud inside... No one got sick off the food, but we all walked out dissatisfied, and in some cases, hungry still! read more

Was already a fan of the location next door, Peter's Kitchen - having tried a bits and pieces off all of all four of the food-court style counters here, all in all, I'd say it's a great spot to come for a fun and tasty lunch. Prices are overall reasonable and the layout makes it good for parties of all sizes without needing to worry much about seating. From what I tried, many of the dishes including the honey garlic fried chicken and the carbonara are extremely heavy on the garlic, so if you're for whatever reason sensitive to that kind of thing, YMMV. I don't know if I would've been able to finish a full order of just the garlic wings, since the garlic flavor was bordering on being intolerable - we got an order unsauced with honey garlic and spicy chili sauce on the side as they don't let you order half and half directly, so it worked out. The Korean fried chicken was otherwise solid for the price; not worth going out of your way to try, but definitely enough to satisfy a craving specifically for Korean-style chicken. The spicy chili sauce wasn't amazing but got the job done. Probably the most memorable dishes seem to be coming from the "pasuta" counter. Pretty much their whole menu looks like it'd be fun to try, and from what we had, nothing was markedly disappointing - being very rich and flavorful, they work well as a meal you can take home and save part of for later, if you don't typically eat a lot at once. Boba / tea offerings were fine - they make the taiyaki fresh on a press. The vanilla custard wasn't especially good, but it's hard to go wrong with basically just a hot, fresh off the press waffle with sugary filling. Nothing in particular to note about their drinks. Since this place has opened, I've already been here twice. It's like a little food court with different kitchens, there's a Korean food Appas, Japanese don don, pa-su-ta, and boba buddies. Since we like a variety of foods we've tried all of them. Overall this place gets 5 stars for bringing this all together, having open seating and a good vibe. However, I'll individually rate the dishes we had below. Appas - we had the bulgogi bibimbap and bbq chicken kimbap. The bibimbap was bomb dot com - so delicious! I had it a second time lol. The fried chicken was just okay, and the chicken kimbap felt a little dry. I'd probably get a different meat next time I get the kimbap. Pa-us-tah- the miso carbonara was really good. We enjoyed it more than the garlic butter karaage. It felt like there was something missing in the garlic pasta. Don don - the tonkatsu curry bowl was pretty good! Will try something else from here next time. Boba buddies - our drinks were just okay. The Thai tea tasted like the kind of I've had everywhere else and the boba was very soft and squishy with no flavor. The brown sugar drink was fine but very sweet. I'll have to give it another try but I'll probably skip on the boba. I will say, you need to ask for water if you're not buying a drink, and if you want to take your food to go you can go up to where you ordered and ask for a box. Also, they bus the tables once you finish eating so you just leave your plates on the table. Overall we like this place and the options they have so we will be back! read more

The area to sit has a variety of different types of seating. Was surprised to see people on their laptops in here. Peter's Kitchen next door also shares this space with Pop Up kitchen which was a nice surprise. We went to Don Don for dinner. We got the udon, miso carbonara and the garlic karage noodle dish. Both of the pasta dishes were good but unfortunately the salt was a bit lacking for the garlic karage. Whether it was on purpose or accident I would suggest not getting it if you like your food more salty. The chicken was cooked perfectly crunchy but also it was a little bland. The noodles were cooked al dente so if you like that then you'll enjoy the dish. The portion sizes were hearty. We left with a full belly. The service was as expected. The menu offers a substitute udon and udon broth but the order was incorrect when we got the food. The kitchen was nice enough to make the right order for us. I'm still unclear about whether or not udon is on the menu but it wasn't made a big issue for us. read more

I saw the menu for Pop Up Kitchen posted on FB awhile ago and have been itching to try it. So glad I did! My friend and I decided to get the Mandu to share and then picked pasta dishes we each liked and shared those too. There was so much food! We each took home more than 3/4 of each pasta dish. Peter's and the Pop Up Kitchen are separated by a wall with a walk through and a sign. It basically says you can not order food for Peter's and sit on Pop Up's side of the restaurant and vice versa UNLESS YOU ORDER YOUR FOOD TO-GO. After you order your food, they give you a number and will bring your food out to you thus why you can not sit on the other side of the wall. This became a problem when our family of 4 did not read the sign and basically had to sit on opposite sides of the wall after ordering all our food. We had to split up and have our meal separate from each other. The atmosphere and location for this place is awesome and really clean! I love the modern food court vibe they have going on however I think there are places for improvement to make things a lot less confusing for the patron. There are no paper menus and the menu is located right next to the cashier. It makes ordering difficult unless you have been there before as they offer a lot of food with a lot of options. I would look at it online before going there if you like to see everything that is available (this is true for the Pop Up Kitchen as well). Peter's Kitchen was out of ahi so I decided to venture on this side of the wall to check things out. I had to order the stuffed aburage sushi from Appa's after seeing another table devour it. I wasn't that hungry and 4 pieces made a great meal without feeling overly stuffed. Dynamite yubu ahi poke was the winner! It was a little messy to eat but extremely satisfying! The furikake rice with the seasoned aburage alone was delicious! I'll have to make another trip back to try the other flavors. My daughter wanted a simpler dish and also wasn't too hungry so she opted for an unagi rice bowl from DonDon. Presentation was a 10/10 however the eel had a weird muddy taste to it that became too much by the end of the bowl. I've been here twice and they've been open for 2 days! This is like...an Asian food court but in literally the best way. Different counters have different menus and cuisines. I have to say, I was surprised by how big the portions were and the good price. Also super impressed each place had really nice plates and bowls! After ordering at the counters, you then sit down and they bring the food and bus the tables for you. Boba Buddies - I've had the Strawberry Kiss, Strawberry Go-go, Tiger milk, and Wintermelon milk. All excellent and love that they wrap it with cute smiley cover, the kind that you poke the straw. They also made a sugar free milk with FRESH fruit for my daughter which was awesome! PaSuTa - garlic butter karage and tan tan bolognese. Both great. But the best thing I ate was that chicken karage, I could literally eat a bucket if they would make it! Dondon - Tonkatsu bowl. Huge! APPA'S - Mandu and spicy pork bimbimbap. Mandu was delicious! Only wish that I had a soup spoon with it. The bimbimbap was great, the flavor of the sauce was really really tasty and flavorful! Quite expensive but the food is somewhat worth it? Border line four stars. New spot in Silverdale, right next to the popular Peter's Kitchen. Within this Pop Up Kitchen, there are four stores. (1) Appa's [Serving appetizers] (2) Don Don [Serving Curry Rice and rice bowls] (3) Pa*Su*Ta [serving Japanese style noodles] (4) Boba Buddies [serving boba drinks] We had a dish from each spot and overall the food is good. Nothing special or great but solid. Pricing is higher than expected. We had: 1) Karaage Curry Rice $15 - the chicken was amazingly crispy and juicy. You get a lot of chicken! The curry was... just curry. Nothing special. Tasted like something you can get from a Golden Curry which can be purchased from a local store. 2) Tan Tan Bolognese $15 - the pasta was cooked well, the dish overall was very good, flavorful and you get a lot of ground pork. Also, has a bit of kick to it, not overbearing. 3) Yubu Chobap $4 ish per piece or $13 for the Yubu Box - In our opinion, this is the best spot. Yes it's expensive still but if you get the Yubu Box (4 pieces) it'll be decent pricing. For our box we got Spicy Ahi Poke, Bulgogi, Spicy Pork, Kalbi, BBQ Chicken, Mayo Tuna. All but the BBQ chicken was amazingly good. BBQ chicken was pretty dry and just grilled chicken, nothing special. all of these serve in tofu pockets with their yummy rice is a good combination. 4) Boba $8 - yeah $2-$3 more expensive then I would expect for their bobas. Nothing extraordinary, all powder and concentrated syrup. Boba was not soft and didn't have any sweetness to it. Good basic drink. Nice clean spot with open seating. A couple TVs showcasing their offerings. Also their online menu sucks. It's blurry when you zoom in, hard to read. Overall not a bad spot with a variety of food offerings. This is a followup to my previous review because I said I would try it again. We tried Appa's this time and it fell short in all ways. The Korean Fried Chicken had no sauce even though the previous version was sauce. The previous version was Peter's version, which is no longer available as Appa's now carries the dish. It was once a favorite and now is the least favorite. The BiBimBap had overcooked rice, so it was like eating porridge with toppings. Why can't this place make rice? The chive pancake isn't crispy but is instead served soft and floppy. The KimBap was alright. I had high expectations, but it just sucks. Skip it. The concept of this place is amazing, love that it's a food court type of setting , so everyone can order what they want all at one place. I always end up at the Korean place for the bulgogi, and it does not disappoint. Sometimes you go and the meat is super tender, and sometimes you go and it's chewy, so they could work on some consistency with that, but it's all in all amazing. The only big complaint I have is that they switched having the spicy sauce from a small individual sized container to a universal shared pouring container, and it pours SO slow that it takes forever to come through it. It's a container meant for salad dressings, or syrup, and it just doesn't flow very well. Also, I don't love being handed an item that everyone else is touching as well. The bubble tea place is less than amazing. Honestly, it's very lackluster, and definitely not worth the time or money. But definitely check out the Korean place, or the fusion pasta place! read more

We had great (and fast!) service, and the food was amazing! It was a Saturday night, so I was expecting a super long wait, but was pleasantly surprised. Great concept and we loved getting to try foods and boba from a few different stalls. we need more of this concept on this side of the Puget Sound. The pasta stall is wonderful, but some advice to the owners: please add some form of acidity, salt, or maybe MSG to the dishes. They are very rich dishes with great toothsome noodles, yet somehow come off as very bland, which I found perplexing. Since these are already decadent dishes, I wish they would salt them a bit more. read more
