HEB ground beef has a rubbery texture ,large crumbles,oily when cooked. LR, ground beef cooks up into nice crumbles,rich flavor nice juiciness. Breakfast links mildly seasoned,ver savory. Chuck roast was phenomenally delicious with carrots,onions and potatoes. Best beef jerky I've ever tasted. And up to this day,I hated jerky in all forms. Smoke sausage that made the beer it was cooked in blushed. For hunters,they do process deer. Needed beef fat for Jamaican beef patties, they prepped about 8 pounds for me. I "WAS" a regular customer at this meat market enjoyed stopping getting the regular link sausage. I arrived on Saturday the 29th of March 2025 I drive from Copperas Cove Texas. When I got there I noticed a sign under new management. Went inside spoke with a gentleman and I asked him was the ingredients the same he assured me yes. Got home cooked the sausage it tasted horrible. Not the same I will never return. This place is great. Friendly staff and a great overall selection of cuts. Reasonable prices, we will definitely be going back. They offer a lot of items that other shops may not. Thier cuts all look good. They offer several different types of sausage, as well as breaded chicken breasts, and mini brisket. Highly disappointing! We recently moved here and my husband brought 2 Whitetail does (quartered) in for processing at the recommendation of one of my family members. They had nothing but great things to say about this place, but what a HUGE mistake it turned out to be. Upon arriving, an INCREDIBLY rude old man came up and started lecturing my husband about how to store deer meat. (My husband has been a hunting guide for over a decade and knows a thing or two about properly storing and handling game...) Not looking to get into an argument, he began loading the ice chest back in the truck when two other employees came outside and apologized for the old mans behavior. They quoted him around $45 per deer for basic processing (steaks, stew meat and hamburger meat) and said they would call when it was ready. Fast forward 3 days and they called to say the meat was ready for pickup for a total of $80-something. They then called back to say they were incorrect and that was the price for one deer, 2 deer would be $160.... My reaction, you've got to be kidding right? We gutted, skinned and quartered the deer, kept the backstraps, requested basic processing, you quoted us $80-ish and now you're changing the price to $160? I don't think so. We have upwards of 10 deer processed every year and of all the places we have taken the meat for processing, it has never been over $55 for just the basic package. Next time we will be giving millers a try as they're only $56 per deer, not $80+. read more

The one bright spot about our trip to Miller Smokehouse was finding this meat market right across the street. It's a small one but they have some superb meats and all are very fresh. We did some sampling with the owner and ended up buying a nice supply and variety of meats. Would highly recommend this place to any that loves good flavorful meats read more

I grew up in Belton in the 80's and 90's. This place had my young heart believing that everyone everywhere eats beef jerky like this. Not true! There is not any place that makes beef jerky this good. When I am home visiting family I still have to stop in for beef jerky. Unbelievable! This stuff is so good that during holidays you are lucky to even have the pleasure of purchasing a pound or two. People give this jerky as gifts. If you are driving through Belton and love beef jerky you must stop in. Heck, I'd even say if you're visiting or living ANYWHERE between Austin and Waco and love beef jerky, the drive is worth it. Call ahead first to make sure they haven't sold out! read more
