This was our 3rd stop for Mother's day since other places were closed and it did not disappoint. It's a small diner and they were pretty busy with only 2 waitresses. Our waitress apologized a few times, however, we placed our order only after a few minutes of sitting down and we received our food fairly quickly. The ham, onion, mushroom omelet was SO good. It was flavorful and fresh. I had a few bites and wished I had ordered it. I had the eggs, sausage, Hashbrown, toast plate. Very good! The waffle was good too. Thanks for saving Mother's Day breakfast!!

Get the S.O.S. Breakfast. It's biscuits and gravy with sausage and it's so good. I took half home and ate it later in the day and I still think about it.

Decided to visit here after visiting the train museum in Temple and we WERE NOT impressed. First off right after we walk in we notice a man sitting in the corner hacking and coughing that originally started to put us off to this place but we decided to give it a shot. My Wife and I got the Chicken Fried Steak which unfortunately turned out to be a frozen patty. I also got a baked potato which was the only fresh ingredient on my plate. We also got an order of onion rings for the table which were also frozen. My Mother in law got the Chicken Tenders which unfortunately were also frozen. My Father in law got the Pancakes which out of the entire meal was the only fresh thing besides my baked potato. Pretty much the only positive out of the whole visit was the waitress was pretty nice. Otherwise not a good visit. If you want good FRESH food I'd look elsewhere.

Was surprised there wasn't more of a crowd on a Saturday morning. We were looking of a diner that we could visit monthly as there's no Waffle House around. Bills hit the mark. Quick service, good food, good prices. We had two country breakfast (TOO much Food) but it was great! The blueberry Texas waffle was amazing! Our server was awesome too. We will be back. Cook washed his hands, waitress checked us out quickly, food was hot and fresh! Good find in temple.

Delicious food, prices and portions available 24 hours! I loved their cheeseburger especially the diced onions Everything tasted fresh. The service was fast and our waiter was very sweet she called everyone at the table "Honey". It reminded me of episode 6 of season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm when Richard Lewis calls his new girlfriend "honey" and she is put off- thinking he's moving too fast in their relationship. Later at lunch, Larry David suggests Richard start calling everyone "honey" in front of his girlfriend to downplay the premature honey. https://youtu.be/TP0d3lj5XcI I would recommend Bills Grill to anyone passing through or visiting Temple, TX

They recently placed as the #1 BBQ spot in Texas for 2026, so of course I had to swing by. We came around 1 or 2 pm on a Saturday, and there was barely any wait to order our food. I got the beef rib, the brisket, the poblano jack sausage, potato salad, and the mac and cheese. By far, the beef rib was PHENOMENAL! Juicy, melty fatty, and easily able to tear off pieces with just a plastic fork alone. This was perfection. The brisket, I wish that I had specified that we wanted moist fatty, as I think that we were just given the leaner cut of the meat, but regardless still good! Poblano jack sausage was cheesy and tasty as well! After you order your meat, you order your sides, and I really liked the potato salad and mac. Both were great! Onions, pickles, and bread were all complimentary, and you could get as much as you wanted. I also greatly preferred the spicy bbq sauce than their normal. The interior of the restaruant is homey and country-style. Also loved their selection of sweet teas and sodas! Glad that this place is so close to home!

Immediately we were greeted by a staff person asking if it was our first time in. We said it was. The person then came around the counter and explained the menu, the special, what came with it and how the counter worked. We decided on a light meal and ordered the mini meal, cheeseburger with fries. When I opened the container, we both giggled at the size of the burger. It was definitely a mini. Lol. I felt slighted at first, but then realized this was a kids meal...duh!. But surprisingly, I was satisfied and comfortably full when finished with the mini meal and half a chocolate cake. After eating, we were sitting there when both the cook(owner) and the cashier came over to ask how everything was. To be honest, that was the best greasing burger I ever had. The fries were hot, a bit whimsy as my wife says, soft. But we'll cooked and seasoned. This place is not soul food, it s Southern comfort food. This guy can cook. Fried everything. The taste of this meat concoction makes Ronald McDonald, Wendy & The King shrink back into a hole so deep you'll ask, what's that? Dare I say it? .... even Whataburger will bow down to this one. This isn't an average patty. This is absolute max on taste, texture, & thoughtful composition. Nothing over the top or overdone. Simple & really, just masterfully put together & toting that perfect smoked flavor. That nice bun holds it all stacked without slipping for the just-right & complete bite. Combos are simple with chips & canned soda. Plenty of room to sit inside the cool A/C out of the wind & heat. The flavor & oozy cheese just pops outta that juicy, snappy skin eliciting spicy goodness like nothing else ever could. Doesn't even NEED sauce. Just by itself can render your palate wild. I KID YOU NOT. Don't miss that one & it serves as a perfect side to the burger I had. Absolutely, fast, friendly & kind service by gentleman who essentially could be your favorite neighbor. They're definitely pushing out Temple's finest BBQ. I mean I just can't think of anyone else.... wait, sorry Best Quality, they got you beat for now. Our Review: A Solid Standard BBQ Meal from a Texas Monthly Top 100 Contender…read moreThis food truck, proudly holding a Texas Monthly Top 100 BBQ award, delivers a reliable and satisfying barbecue experience that settles comfortably into the realm of "nice standard BBQ." The operation is traveler-friendly, offering both indoor and outdoor seating to escape the heat. We found the prices to be reasonable, sharing a three-meat plate and a drink for $26.74, which is solid value for the quality. The Meats: Hits and Misses The selection of meats provided a good showcase of the pitmaster's skill, though consistency was the key challenge. The star was the Jalapeño and Cheese Sausage. It featured a nice double grind and boasted a perfect, audible snap on the casing. It was wonderfully cheesy, packed with a flavorful blend of cheddar and jack cheeses that made every bite decadent and satisfying. The Brisket delivered excellent smoke flavor, complete with a prominent smoke ring and a great, peppery bark. However, the texture was a letdown, as the meat was noticeably a little dry and chewy in places, suggesting it either rested too long or was sliced from a less-moist section. The Ribs were juicy but tough. They were nice and juicy in flavor, but the overall texture was a little tough and not consistent across the bone, leaving some parts more enjoyable than others. Creative Sides: The sides attempted to be innovative and added welcome brightness to the heavy meats: * Jalapeño Cole Slaw: The addition of green apple was a brilliant touch, offering a great, refreshing flavor contrast. While the jalapeños gave it a much-needed kick, the heat did not integrate well with the overall mix of flavors, feeling a bit separate from the main slaw profile. * Charred Corn Elote Salad: This side was a hit in flavor, presenting a delicious nice mixture of corn and cream. The only slight drawback was the temperature; serving this side warm would dramatically elevate the richness and texture of the cream and charred corn. Final Takeaway: This award-winning food truck offers a good, affordable, and nice standard BBQ meal. While the sausage is a must-try, the brisket and ribs need minor consistency improvements to truly climb the Texas rankings. Given the reasonable pricing and dual seating options, it's a great stop for a dependable BBQ fix.
