Don't hesitate to trust your hybrid battery replacement to these guys. My college-age son purchased a used 1st gen hybrid Civic (the wisdom of that is for another discussion). The battery began to fail last fall, Greentec went on-site at his university and did the replacement, so far so good. Six months later, the engine light is on and a diagnostic says it's the battery. Greentec unhesitatingly shows up at our home to honor the warranty and replace the battery at their expense but more dashboard lights are on. They can't do a complete analysis on the road and recommend we have the car towed to their shop (over an hour away) or see if someone local can take a look. We take it to the local Honda dealer who throw up their hands and say the battery doesn't match their part number and the replacement power management system they tried didn't fix it. Their implied message is to pay them for another battery and trust that it will work. My son already has $2K invested and now Honda says it's not their fault but you can pay us. We bite the bullet and have the car towed to Greentec where they do the full diagnostic and try a new power management system and lo and behold, everything works like new and all the dashboard lights are out. I've seen some reviews that say that you can't trust these guys and they're difficult to work with but if you are patient and ask them to explain difficult terminology and are willing to trust their expertise you will find that they are really working in your best interest. I can't say enough for everyone we talked to there with a special shout of appreciation to Phil at Bowie, MD who patiently walked us through the process and options even when things got a little tense. What a great blessing Greentec has been to me. I had two six-year old granddaughters in my 2006 Prius when all the lights on the dash came on. It frightened me. It took several days but I finally got a dealership to diagnose the problem. The hybrid battery needed to be replaced and it was going to cost $4500. I am on a low fixed budget and could not figure out how to get my car back on the road until my research led me to Greentec. For less than half the cost, I was able to get a battery installed. Cindy at the office in CA was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. Phil, at the office in MD got to me immediately after I placed the order and let me know when we could schedule installation. That was Monday. It was installed on Thursday. I was amazed that they would come to my driveway and replace it. Jonnie was terrific. He drove the 6 plus hours to get to me, let me stand and watch all that was going on, and explained some things to me in the end to help me keep my car running well. (I like to know what is going on!) He was very pleasant, professional, and considerate. He went right to work and had the job done in less than 45 minutes! The dealership was going to charge me six hours of labor for replacement! I have been telling everyone I know who has a hybrid battery about this company. Paul and Phil were very informative on the technology and the process that goes into installing the battery and what to expect. I have had an amazing experience with Greentec auto! Last year I got a used hybrid battery for my '05 Prius. It's about 11 months old and under warranty still when it started having some problems, I got a test report done and the codes weren't exactly pin pointing the battery itself so I went up there (without an appointment said I could just stop by whenever) and once I got there it turned out to be the battery. Within an hour of getting there I had a new battery! The entire process was explained to me and Johnny even let me stand next to him and watch and he explained as he went which was super nice as knowing something is wrong with your car is very stressful and knowing its in such knowledgable hands makes you at ease! Had the hybrid battery replaced last July for wife's 2006 Prius. Original order went fine - installer arrived on time and everything was good. Then two days ago we suddenly started getting "Replace hybrid battery" OBD II codes so called Greentec again. They set up everything for an replacement under warranty (ZERO cost to us). This installer (Jonnie, I think?) arrived here in PA with the replacement the next day. He was great - very professional and a really good guy, checked things out again, and then swapped in the new battery in what had to be world-record time. OBD II codes were all gone and car drove fine through extended test drive. We're consistently very happy with the service and the folks we've dealt with at Greentec - the phone calls have gone well and the in-person installation work has just been excellent. Johnnie from Greentec just came to my house to install my new hybrid battery in my 11-year-old Prius. He was outstanding! I watched the entire installation, it didn't take any time at all, and I was driving my Prius in under an hour. Johnnie showed me every part of the installation process, he taught me how to change my engine and air filters and even programmed a key fob too! OUTSTANDING!!! He really went above and beyond the actual installation to make me a very satisfied customer. Couldn't be more satisfied. Purchased mobile installation of a 6.5 AMP hybrid battery for 1st gen Honda Civic Hybrid. Work was done by Johnnie, who drove up from MD to NJ. Johnnie was courteous and personable, his manner set me at ease from the get-go, he was clearly knowledgeable and skilled, comfortable being observed while he worked, he invited questions and explained things thoroughly, and he worked carefully and efficiently. I had the impression that he cared about the quality of his work and felt my car was in trustworthy hands. My whole exchange with GreenTec Auto has been positive, and I saved about $600 over what I would have paid at Honda - and that's with the cost of mobile installation (without that, I would have saved about $900). The guys at the Maryland Greentec were awesome and honest!! I was told by Midas that I needed a new battery. I was hesitant to bite the bullet to pay $1500 for a new battery, but was going to l do it. When I get to the shop, they did a diagnostic test. Phil came out to explain the results of the test. He recommended waiting to replace the battery because their test did show the battery being faulty. He asked one of his technicians to take it out for a test ride evaluation. The technician informed him that the car was very low on oil. Phil picked up his credit card and told the technician to go down the street and put oil in the car on him. Who does that? This is an amazing company! I called them on a Monday and they were able to schedule an appointment as soon as the next day. The technician, Jonnie, came out from about 3 hours away just to install my new battery. He was extremely helpful and polite and the installation only took about 30 minutes. After he finished, I was able to give it a test drive and could immediately feel the difference in the new battery. Jonnie then made sure to inform me of anything important regarding the new battery and its warranty. I will be returning to them anytime I need help in the future. Very pleased with the level of customer service. We needed replacement hybrid battery for our 2007 prius. The dealer cost was close to $4000. Greentec Auto quoted the options available along with sending prices and warranty information. The greentec auto technician named Johnny showed up at our door on-time, was extremely courteous and answered all my questions. The installation took about an hour. Johnny took time to explain the warranty process, how to break in the replacement battery and assured me if we have any questions or concerns that greentec is there to help. Phil from Greentec knew what he was doing! Great Job! My battery was available very quickly and the next day Phil was out to install it in my driveway. He arrived and within minutes the entire back end of my 2005 Prius was on my driveway and within an hour everything was perfectly back in its place. Now the 200,000 plus mile Prius is back on the road and I am happier than ever. Also Phil took the time to let me know if there is any problem, just verify the code and send him a picture of the code and if it is related to the battery, he would fix my problem. This past weekend I had a battery pack installed in my 2004 Honda Civic hybrid'! Honda dealer wanted between four and five thousand dollars! Green tech auto did it for $1650 and Phil the tech guy drove in six hours from Maryland! It was a joy working with him! He ran all the diagnostics and completed the wor in about one and a half hours including the test drive! These guys really know their stuff! My 05 Civic Hybrid had battery issues in June, 2015. Greentec Auto installed a new battery at a reasonable price with a 48 month warranty. In recent weeks the IMA light came on several times, so I took the car in last week to the Bowie, MD. location. After some testing, a new battery was installed with no hassle. I couldn't find my actual warranty from 2015; they didn't blink an eye, looked it up in their own records, and sent me home pleased with everything. Found Greentec online after Honda dealer quoted $4.4K for replacement battery (not including labor!) in my Civic. For half the cost I got twice the original battery capacity. Jonnie did it in my driveway in less than an hour! We also cleaned up some leftover glass from when the rear window failed that was behind the rear seat. We took a drive afterwards, and all codes were cleared (had P1600 & P1570). Car is running good now, five days later, very good service. The recycling sounded very legit too. Jonnie came to my house today to give me a refurbished hybrid battery for my 2006 Prius. Took his time to check everything on the car and also to explain things in detail. Cost for 18 month warranty on the new battery was good and Prius is fixed. Took Johnnie about 35 mins to swap out the battery. For those of you that have watched that done on you tube you know that is damn fast. Would highly recommend. Easy to set up appt on the phone and received invoice on email that was accurate with no surprises. read more

They offer good prices for revamped second-hand hybrid batteries, it may be about 3 times cheaper than getting a new battery from the car makers. They also give an 18 month warranty. We liked the services they offered in their Maryland office in November 2016. Our hybrid car is working well so far. They also know a lot about hybrid cars which is great (unfortunately most car mechanics we have met know little about hybrid cars). The people there like Johnny and Phil did a great job with our car. read more
