My PC is seven years old and instead of telling me what a piece of crap my PC is (like the other guys did), they accepted my geriatric PC with open arms. I took my PC there about a month ago, because it wouldn't power on. I know less than zero about computer repair, so they could have really taken me for a ride if they wanted to. However, I was pleasantly surprised when they called me a few short days later to inform me that they can fix it for nearly half of what Geek Squad and Office Depot were trying to fleece me for...... labor and parts combined! Today I have taken my PC back there to have my antivirus software updated.... and again I was welcomed with fast, friendly service. If you're like me, and you need a place to take your PC that's going to give you good service at a decent price, I would recommend these guys for sure. If you want to be treated like a cheapskate, because you won't fork over $1,200 for a new PC, you can take it to the other guys. Don't believe the hype. Save yourself the gas and time. Squad and Depot are in the business of selling new computers, not trying to help you save money by fixing the one that you already have. That's why they ask for so much money up front. Take your PC to these folks who are actually in the computer repair business. They'll take care of you for a very reasonable down payment.... and they are actually friendly.

I took it to John here after taking the advice of other reviews to call for his availability first. It's a small place, filled with computers in various stages of repair: very old fashioned. John met me and my comp, quickly confirmed my first suspicions of hardware failure but informed me that he would need more time to do hardware diagnostics. He took from start of business until 5pm to check every other part in the event that another component was at fault or if he could outright repair my issue. While he couldn't fix the problem, John was exhaustive in his checks and confirmed my bad mobo (which realistically was exactly what I had brought it in for, even if him fixing it was a distant hope). As he promised, the diagnostic without a fix cost me nothing but still gave me actionable information. More important here was the follow up. After asking John about the solution (new motherboard), he immediately followed up that I needed to also get other components or my computer would fizzle again (which again was exactly what had happened here). It's this extra bit, which could very easily save me a heck of a lot of stress and care a few years down the line, that sold me on this experience. Again, John got no pay for this visit, and won't get a kickback from my buying the extra parts (tho did recommend me a good shop that I also knew of), but still did his best to make sure I was in better shape leaving his shop than entering it. End result: I got a really good deal on a used HP laptop. It's fast, runs smooth and the best thing about it is: no Windows 8. Woo-hoo!!! We dickered back and forth with the price a little. Some people hate this but I actually like negotiating prices for things. Prices are aren't always set in stone and it's perfectly fine to ask a company for a better deal. Oh course they said one price and then it changed. $90 went to $129 but we settled for $100 even + tax. Not a bad price to pay for a decent working computer. I've been using it for three days and I really like it. No problems at all. I was probably in there for less than 20 minutes and came out with exactly what I wanted at a price that was lower than I had expected to pay.

When I went to pick it up, my screen was working there @ the business but I had no freaking hard drive. I was told a price on the phone for a certain metal (.50 cents) then when I get there and unload 800 pounds which I drove from out of town about a 3 hr journey.
