    Shelter provided some shade.
    Kevin C.

Stopped here 9 weeks ago during our road return trip back to home in Atlanta. This is the Sacaton Rest Area off of I-10 Eastbound. Lots of parking available. It was hot outside (over 100 degrees), and this place is not air conditioned, so the restrooms will be hot inside. We stopped long enough to use the restrooms and stretch our legs a little. The men's restroom was clean. There are shelters that provide some shade.

No shade at this rest area on I-10 between Phoenix and Tucson but still a good spot for a rest and a stretch. You're not going to have a nap here because it gets super hot when you're parked in the Sun. Vending machines and I also spotted a spigot that offered up well water. Note that there is a rest area for East and West bound.

One of three rest stop 'stops' on a road trip crossing Arizona. A basic rest area with restrooms and a few vending machines behind heavy gauge wire gates. Clean restrooms and grounds. Groomed and cared for regularly. Area information posted along with emergency contact instructions that include specific location. A pet poop area; gravel and rock, no grass or vegetation for comfortable K9 movements. My pup had a tough time relieving in such terrain. Be safe, drive smart, and take frequent breaks.

Nasty!! no toilet paper. Used tampons laying on the floor and bloody tissue paper. This was awful.

Very clean and well maintained. A groundskeeper was even sweeping the sand to keep it clean.

You get what you pay for and this place is good enough, not more or less. At $100 even (after…read moretaxes) for a room without a pet, it's not super-affordable, but it's much more reasonable than the literal hundreds some Tucson hotels are charging right now during the Gem Show. The elderly man receptionist is a little dry, but is courteous and helpful enough. Inside the room, there are various signs of disrepair and cracks/patches in the walls. Whatever. The bathtub/shower faucet is tricky and the first gush of water comes out brown from rust, but soon enough it is clear. What do you expect; it's the middle of the desert. The bathtub water never really heats up but the shower water comes out as hot as you want; it's hard to understand how flipping one little switch affects this, but it does. The giant-screen flatscreen TV is likewise finicky and many of the cable networks it is "subscribed" to don't seem to have reception, but who cares, I was there to sleep, not watch junk. The heater works, and does so right away, but on high setting, the fan is just too noisy for you to be able to sleep (or talk to someone, or understand the TV, or keep your sanity). There is a microwave and coffee machine and fridge, all of which look to be in fair shape, which (assuming they work--I did not try them) would actually make this a pretty decent value for a Ben Franklin. All in all, no severe complaints. I have had much worse in the greater Tucson area in "cheap" rooms.

The pool outside is also beautiful with an outdoor bar, and appears to be two jacuzzis. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating with a covered outdoor patio. IF and a big if, you want the cookie for every person at arrival, ensure that everyone checks in together. It's only provided to the guest at check-in. Coffee and tea are complimentary while water bottles in the room are $3 per bottle unless booked through Hilton as a member. The room is spacious and the window has a two-set shade for lighting control instead of curtains. It comes equipped with a smart TV that can be hooked up to services like Netflix, Apple TV and more. If your stay is short, five days or less, and do not require housekeeping, it's best to forego the service. Trash can be easily left outside of the room or brought to the bins by the parking areas. We returned to our room on the third day, after skipping service on the second day, with fresh towels even though the towels were hung. The bed was made although with not so fresh sheets. You can most certainly tell it wasn't. It wasn't dirty to begin with, but it would've been nice to have gotten fresh sheets. The concierge staff continued to be warm and courteous at checkout as well. I won't mind staying here again.

I don't like that you can't find a menu of the restaurant anywhere online and have to go in to see it but the food is delicious! There was a massive gap under my room door which made it extremely loud and I could hear everything this was happening in the hallway crystal clear. Same with my neighboring room which walls seem to be paper thin and I could hear their conversations as well. I would urge that these sound issues be fixed before I ever think about coming back to this hotel.

I started taking Desert Snow Connection a few years ago and it has changed everything for me. Since I discovered this company, I'm skiing more than I ever have each season. Basically they pick you up on a nice bus at 5am in either Mesa or Phoenix and take you directly to Snowbowl and back (2.5 hours one way). You get back to the Valley around 8pm. There is storage space under the bus for your snow gear, WiFi on the bus and outlets at your seat to charge your phone. DSC does trips daily after Christmas until the season is over. Tickets are usually around $100 and includes transportation and your lift pass (which are handed to you on the bus when you arrive at Snowbowl). They also offer transportation only if you are a season ticket holder. It's an awesome deal and saves you the wear and tear on your vehicle to drive up the mountain and back. Plus you can take a nap on the way back after a long day of shredding. They will make a quick stop at a rest stop for a bathroom break. Seating is first come, first serve. So make sure you arrive at pick-up on time. DSC also does a few out-of-state trips to places like Purgatory and Big Bear. Check out their website for dates. Check them out at the annual winter Ski Pro Avalanche Sale for discounted multi-trip package deals.

The overall stay here was stunningly beautiful, convenient and really Grand. The only issues I had were a few room related items which I bring up only as some constructive critique. Overall, it was all 5 stars. The program screen inside the spa/gym shows on but not logged in- with no instructions nearby on how to use it. (Front desk would need to assist, and they weren't easily available) seems like a waste of a service. Secondly, I found that the sheets on the bed are all flat- (they don't use fitted sheets- and it was troublesome as they didn't stay covering the mattress the whole night. Thankfully I asked for help and housekeeping doubled up on sheets for me. Lastly, I noticed some small rocks in my room upon check in. Needed vacuuming longer. Besides that everything felt very clean and tended too!
