The registration process was fairly seamless, and the doctors were kind and focused on my children's experience. When we took my youngest child, it was a little bumpy, or than when we took my oldest last night. However, in both instances, the doctors were beyond excellent. The nurses were kind and responsive as well, but the bedside manner of the doctors was what stood out this trip. One concern I do want to notice is that there seems to be a glitch in their medication ordering system, which did not permit the nurse to get the medication needed within a timely manner. Apparently, this has been going on for days and the health staff have brought this forward for internal review multiple times. I hope this gets fixed as it does. Sit back there a patient's healing process when medical providers have to wait for medication.

So 3 weeks after the 1600 miles he drove in 3 days ( fl to Mn), he had a MASSIVE heart attack right in the office ( 5 minutes fr HCMC ER) of our 25 year primary care doctor! WHAT luck! So in 10 minutes of the EKG test, he was in the ER!!! After 3-4 hours in surgery, one surgeon came out and said," his main artery in the rear of heart was 95% blocked and he would have survived for only 90 minutes... we put in two stints". HCMC ER is nationally rated as " the top ER Level One trauma center and number one in the entire Midwest ". Level one means they can handle anything - - gun shot wounds to head, chest, stomach the most deadly spots, falls out of buildings, MASSIVE car crashes, etc etc. My father taught biochemistry 40 years in a NYC med school and taught us how to care for all others in any situation. My husband post surgery, was hospitalized in HCMC for 4 days and entered their special Cardio Physical Therapy Program = 3X a week/full hour/for 3?months!! The hospital stay was outstanding in ALL respects. The nurses were attentive, and the post heart attack education done by a special doctor was SO excellent... my husband who has been a heavy smoker for 68 years... COLD TURKEY stopped smoking immediately. HCMC's post cardio physical therapy program is Rated NUMBER 1 in the Twin Cities. We agree 100%. First the 4 physical therapist's take your blood pressure and sugar/ glucose level every 15 minutes during the hour session. All of them are joyous, effervescent enthusiastic warm caring GENUINE folk! Just love them all! They play low, any kind of music you want and LIFT your spirits with their laughter. This is a major major reason why my husband recovered so completely. (And he contracted the same deadly pneumonia that killed the famous race car driver after just 5 weeks in physical rehab) We are most most grateful for this rare rare team of great folk.

We formally waived the service once the interpreter arrived. Despite that, during the four hours we were at the clinic, we were asked five separate times by five different staff members, including a physician whether we needed an interpreter. At some point, repeated questioning stops feeling like policy and starts feeling like harassment. You said I was rude and short with your staff. How would you feel if someone repeatedly questioned your ability to understand English? How would you feel if a staff member began speaking in Hmong to you as if you couldn't comprehend what was being asked? She said having an interpreter would benefit us. Dr. Andrew Venteicher documented that I "demanded to be seen." The scheduling protocol required imaging first and then a follow-up appointment. Imaging ran behind, which made us late for the second visit, through no fault of our own. When I asked staff to communicate this delay to the other department, it was framed as me demanding immediate service. Advocating for my mother should not be mischaracterized. Policies should protect patients, not single them out. DO BETTER!

I went to Minnesota Craniofacial Center as a referral from my dentist back in 2023. The doctor I…read moresaw for my consultation and first initial appointments was very nice and laid out a treatment plan for me that she assured me would help my TMD. What the X-rays showed was my left TMJ had a misalignment and I was told that being fitted with an appliance, taking some cortisone shots for the pain, which actually did help! As well as doing a course of physical therapy exercises would re-align my jaw into the right position in the joint. The first few appointments went well, but the issues started when I came in for an appointment and I asked where the doctor I had started my treatment with was and they told me that she was no longer there, or no longer worked there, I don't remember exactly what they told me but as I understood it the doctor I had initially seen was no longer at the clinic. I wasn't sure what to do, I kept up with my treatment and went from wearing my appliance 24/7 to slowly working toward only wearing it at night. The treatment cost me $4,000 out of pocket because I was told they aren't covered by my insurance... which after reading some other reviews on this clinic, makes me very skeptical and concerned, and once I had finished the treatment plan it felt as though the follow-up appointments were completely pointless. I would go in and see someone different each time, so I had to explain what was going on to a new person over and over, they would test my bite, adjust the appliance, tell me to do some stretches and that was it. Each of these visits cost me over $300 each time. I was telling them that even though the pain was mostly gone I was still grinding my teeth, still having terrible tension in my jaw and that I had developed a gap, or malocclusion, on the right side of my mouth after doing their treatment. All they would offer is some stretches and more cortisol shots... no one seemed to really have an answer. In regards to the gap on my right side, they would adjust my appliance to be wider on the right side, so my appliance was not even... I strongly believe they caused the gap to develop by incorrectly adjusting my appliance. I had to pay off the $4,000 over the course of two years and only now am I able to seek alternative treatment because of the financial burden I was under due to all of this. They didn't solve my TMD like I was promised, they charged me $4k in a very strange situation where I was sat down with Genivive and told the cost and all the stuff about insurance not covering it, it felt so coercive and I was dealing with so much pain I was desperate to solve the problem... I truly wish I had waited to start treatment and gotten a second and third opinion before sinking so much money into this place with barely any results. I still deal with pain, much less severe than before so at least they did something, I still grind my teeth at night, I still have clicking and locking issues with my jaw and awful muscle tension, and they gave me a new issue to figure out with the malocclusion on my right side. I now have been talking with an oral surgeon and an orthodontist on how we can solve these issues, or at least improve them and make sure my jaw is in a healthier state. I will need some surgical intervention now, possibly an osteotomy but I will avoid that as much as I can. Be very wary of this business, do not let them push a treatment on you and get several other opinions before committing to their treatment. The fact that my insurance does indeed have TMJ care coverage and they told me my insurance wouldn't cover their services is very suspicious to me.

They said over the phone "yes we do sliding feed scale" and then sent to me the paperwork that I had to fill out via fax. When I got there they accepted my filled out paperwork, my SSI award letter, made me answer a few more questions, and then finally got me back into a dental chair. When the actual dentist looked inside my mouth. He told me that I would be better off getting implants. The idea of getting implants was fine with me but that did not stop the fact that I was still in pain and needed to have that tooth removed. When I questioned that, they told me that they did not have the means to do so and referred me to the dentist school What a lie. When I questioned why they would not pull the tooth they told me that it would not be in my best interest. I knew what they really meant which was that it would not be in THEIR best interest since I do not have insurance. When I asked again about them accepting a sliding fee, they told me that every office is different in how they do that. Yes I understand that every office is different on how they do a sliding fee scale for payment but at the end of the day it is the same - they take a certain percentage off and the customer pays the difference. Instead, I was shuffled into an office where they told me that I needed to have insurance and the person sitting at the desk was suppose to help me but did not do so. Instead, he just kept staring at the paperwork that I had turned in. How anyone could give this place more than 3 stars is well beyond my scope of thought.
