It took them 45 minutes to destroy all my stuff, due to the high volume. They methodically and efficiently took care of business. I don't know their names, but the name "Damon" was on my receipt. They were fast, provided a receipt without even asking, and after looking into their history and the impact they've had as a workplace for ex-offenders I'm proud to have supported them! There is a small fee for TVs, monitors, and HVAC/refrigerant products. It was $25 to recycle my TV but the price of mind that it wasn't simply headed for a landfill was worth it.

You can not just throw a flat screen television away and most places charge $20 to $40 to dispose of them., but not this place. It was free. It was a bit difficult to find based off of the directions. Once I was able to find the drop off location, it was easy peasy. It was clearly marked, easy to pull into and the worker on duty unloaded the television from my truck. I did not have to lift a finger. Less than 2 minutes I was on my way. Very convenient and they accept washers/dryers, batteries, cell phones, monitors, computers, scanners, microwaves, scrap metal, dvd players and much more. It is nice because disposing of some of the stuff, such as batteries, is illegal and this give you a legal environmentally safe option to dispose of such items.

My roommate reached out and did the coordinating. He filled out the quote form and they never gave us a quote. The woman he coordinated with said she didn't work in the field so she wouldn't be able to give us an estimate even though we provided a list of items needed moved and our two houses were only 7 minutes away from each other. We confirmed two days before and the day before to make sure the move was still on, as the weather was going to be very cold. We were moving in December. They confirmed the time with us, a window of 9-10 am and showed up at 11:20 am. They did not have uniforms on (the website said they would be uniformed) and were not dressed for the cold. Some were wearing zip up hoodies. No jackets and no gloves. The website also they said they would provide mattress bags and they did not. Instead they brought mine and my 3 roommates' mattress out to the curb and set them in the snow while they loaded up the truck with other items. They asked to borrow our tools and then we never got them back nor did we get our hand cart back. We can only assume that they must have taken it with them when they left as it is hard to lose a hand cart! When we got to the new house our team of five men had dropped down to three. The move was taking even longer because of that. We were being charged hourly and now the team of movers was down man power. No one let us know why. Once they were done getting everything into the new house wooden floors were scratched and corners were shredded to the point there were little piles of paint and wood on the floor. My roommate's bed frame was taken apart (with our now missing screw driver) and put back together so poorly we realized it was actually BROKEN! It has pull out drawers that now when you pull on them the whole side of the bed frame comes off. His dresser with a marble top was scratched beyond belief! Other stuff happened and was damaged, but I don't need to write a whole novel. In the end I was put on the spot to pay. The means of communication when it came to paying was confusing. We were not told how it was going to be done before hand. In the end I, the person who did not coordinate with the team, was passed a phone from one of the movers and was ON SPEAKER while a woman from the office asked TWO TIMES if I would like to leave a tip in addition to the total price ($1,800, way over what we thought it would be. But hey they didn't give us a quote). I refused both times while on speaker in front of the three man crew that was left. I paid with my credit card over the phone and handed the iPhone back to the mover and they left. My roommate who was the point person for the move was then called five minutes later by the same woman at the office and she told my roommate that I did not leave a tip and asked if he would like to leave a tip. By this point we had done a sweep of the house and saw the damages in full. We documented the damages and sent over photos. We were told that management would be contacted, but we have received no updates from them on how to make this right. Their website states they have damage protection, so I assume they would be able to cover damages or at least give us some money back! I don't recommend this moving service. I really don't know what else to say.

And having to walk in a nearly-empty carpet showroom, ask about recycling, then drive around to the back of the building to drop it off? Weird and awkward. Cash only? Ugh. However, when it came to delivery my order was over 2 hours late and they only sent it out after I called for the third time without any notifications or updates that they would be late, the dispatcher let me know after I called that the original truck broke down. Then for pickup I called 3 times before I was sent to a dispatcher who finally got a pickup scheduled days later than my original pickup time. The first two times the person who answered the phone seems annoyed that I called and just said "we're busy" and did not give me a pick up number or anything. The dispatcher told me that she never notification that the pickup was ready. Additionally, when I asked ove the phone if the extra time would be charged or if it was on them, one of the shop employees said I would have to pay based on when it was picked up. I now know that wasn't true but it really stressed me out because I was completely left out stranded and had to stay home from work for 2 days to wait for them to do the pickup and had no idea when and if they would actually come. I spent $150 each way for delivery and I only live 10 minutes down the road. The whole point was I needed things to be timely. I would rate the shop experience 4/5 and the delivery experience 0/5. While I would absolutely rent from them again, I'm never doing delivery. The equipment was in good working order and the delivery driver was nice and helpful when he did get there.

In comparison, the HD would require a $350 deposit for a $90 rental. I believe I spent a total of $133 on a Jack hammer, 2 chisel picks, and a wheel barrel. Best part was, I got a refund on a chisel pick without even asking. They asked me if I had used both, which I hadn't, and they just refunded me. I loved that!! The employees are all incredibly friendly and helpful here! Like I said, I was a bit uneasy at first, but once I started talking to someone, I was feeling much better. Overall great employees, good prices, and reliable tools!!

My son has been here often so he's becoming familiar with certain areas and found what he wanted. I, on the other hand, was overwhelmed. Asset Recycling is a division of Youth Fair Chance, Inc., and in operation since April of 2003. They are a non-proft organization who works to divert usable building materials from landfills while offering donors all allowable tax incentives for their contributions. The charity's focus is to provide today's youth with a fair chance for a safer and more environmentally friendly future by eliminating usable building materials from landfills.  It provides neighborhoods and individuals, especially the ill, needy, and youth, new and affordable building materials for home projects. While the Asset Recycling warehouse primarily contains windows, doors, paint, plumbing supplies, flooring, and lighting, you can also count on finding interesting deals, arts and crafts items, holiday and party supplies, home decorating items, fabrics, and more. Asset Recycling is open to the public with a focus on serving those most in need of assistance with safe and affordable housing.  Inventory changes often, so frequent visits are encouraged.
