Gotta go with 3 stars here. The beer is really good and the place is a cool little spot. However, the service is unwelcoming, unfriendly and unhelpful. And the place was unclean. There was not a single spot/table clean and the staff didn't attempt to clean a single table. Possibly explains part of why there were half a dozen people here and half a block down the road at AZW there were 300+ people. Where even though it was busy as good be, the service was wonderful. Wish this place well because the beer is good. But it really needs to rethink how they treat customers. read more

This was a really cute brewery in downtown Phoenix. They have a small indoor section where you can order your beer. The selection has a wide variety including alcoholic kombucha. I got a great sour and my fiancé got a rosemary beer that smelled so good. On both side of the indoor section there are gated outdoor seating areas. The ambiance is fun and chill. There's lots of seating so you can enjoy the Az weather, a nice cold beer, and good company. read more

It's rare that I get a flight from a brewery I've never visited before and end up really liking everything I've tried, but it happened here. I had a flight with the Rosemary IPA, Belgian Tripel, Blueberry wheat, and Herstory pale ale. Considering how good all of those were, they're not just stuck on mastering any particular style. Greenwood Brewing is an excellent addition to the Roosevelt Row neighbourhood! They have plenty of outdoor seating and numerous barstools in their minimalist indoor space. Rob W. brought me here last night for a date night and we loved it. Drinks: I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I sampled Rob's flight and thought everything I tried was delicious and unique. Herstory (pale ale?) was SO tasty and I could see myself ordering that. The Rosemary IPA was very unique and had a lovely savory mouthfeel. The amber (usually my fave) was caramelly and delicious. Finally, the Belgian Tripel was high in both alcohol content and flavour. I had the kombucha which was tasty. I think they serve All About Booch. Service: the bartender was very friendly and had a down to earth hipster vibe. Ambiance: it's a great place to hang out and people watch. The decor was simple and calming. We will be back when the weather cools down and we can hang out on the patio without crisping. Although, I think I spotted some misters so we may be back sooner than later. read more

The patio is the perfect place to be during our "winter". Especially after a nice bike ride. I've been several times and was not personally impressed with the beer selections. They were pretty heavy on the hops, even the lighter beers. My friends and boyfriend are obsessed with Herstory, which meant we were constantly coming back here despite my inability to appreciate it. One fateful day, Greenwood surprised the hell outta me when they revealed their delicious autumnal brew - the Harvest Diem. This autumn spiced ale was all I wanted!! The honey cinnamon sugar rim nearly made it a dessert. I ended up bringing a several growlers home over the next couple months. Since then, they've removed this delicious seasonal ale, but I'm sure I'll be back to see what other new brew they might come out with. I hope they continue to release some less hoppy choices in the near future. read more

What a great spot to hang out, have some quality beers brewed by them (including flights), and feel welcome. Inside is stylish and clean but intimate, with seats at the bar and overlooking the street; they have two cool patios as well. I came for the first anniversary (after having their beers a couple other places). They have regular food trucks and plenty of food in walking distance. Parking wasn't too bad on the street. Went to Greenwood for the first time Saturday night and couldn't have had a better experience. The atmosphere was super chilled and the service was great. We have had the unique opportunity to watch the whole process of Megan opening her brewery. First of all, as a woman who loves beer, I was thrilled to support a woman brewer. To open a new business is hard enough, but to be at the beginning of it in the middle of the pandemic, was even more challenging. She never backed down and she makes amazing beer. My favorite is Herstory Pale Ale. My husband loves the Rosemary IPA. The patio area is great and it is neat to have Made and Eye lounge right there as well. Me and my dad visited while waiting for my new apartment to be ready for move-in. The bartender was incredibly kind and allowed us to bring my cats inside while they were in carriers. There's no food aside from some snacks but the brewery has some arrangement with surrounding restaurants that will bring the food to you! I like greenwood! I love that it is women owned, LGBTQ friendly, and I think that shows in the way they treat customers. There are good options for beer. I visited this brewery last weekend and was really disgusted to see the lack of masks and social distancing, staff included. It is a small place already, and if the owner is community minded and focused on being a taproom vs a bar, there is no need to open to the public, especially with such flagrant disregard for public health. I am disgusted that anyone would think it's okay to open a bar during a pandemic in a hotspot state. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. There are a lot of new breweries popping up in Phoenix making for fierce competition, especially during this time of COVID. I love independent breweries but don't make an effort to seek out every new opening. Greenwood drew me in as soon as I saw "Herstory". First, the brews are good and will appeal to most people. Personally, I'm more of a dark/brown ale (as opposed to fruity and IPAs) person, so didn't expect much on the menu for my taste, but found the Grapefruit Kolsch tasty. On the other hand, my partner in crime had a plethora of choices (she's the fruity type). There are other things I love about this place: the location is awesome, the outdoor seating amazing, and... you bring your own eats (you can raid the ever present taco truck parked out front). It seems a little strange to be toting in food but it's something I love! Downtown has so many good food choices, so why compete? Recommendation: go next door to Taco Chelo, order spicy to go, bring it over to Greenwood and enjoy with a crisp light craft brew. read more

We live across the street and were so excited to visit this new brewery! We sat on the patio on a freshly sanitized table and all the staff members were wearing masks and keeping a healthy distance. Hand sanitizer was available at the entrance and on the tables. We ordered the flight so we could try all their different brews and were not disappointed! My personal favorite was the Purpose Pilsner, a light and refreshing brew for a warm summer night. First, this place is the cutest. Very modern and clean, with a great outdoor patio. I got a beer flight and preferred the Rosemary IPA over all others. Most importantly though, I want to point out the bartender, David. He was SO pleasant and nice. With my first time at Greenwood I walked in and was immediately greeted by the bartender. After Telling her I'd never had their beer before she was happy to run down the list as well as suggest a few local restaurants that would deliver to the brewery. After two four-drink flights I am happy to say I have not had a bad beer, or even a so-so beer from Greenwood. I was especially impressed with the gose. Through it all, great conversation with some of the locals sitting at the bar. The art was nice, the outside sitting looked great, with plenty of shade and misters, but still too hot for my taste. On the way out the door I was happy to receive some free swag (sticker). Definitely a great taproom to check out if you're in Phoenix. read more
