Ordered off door dash. First time going there. Food was SO good!! I had gastric sleeve over 2 weeks ago and this was perfect for my diet!! Hard to find something at a restaurant that I can eat. Would recommend this place to everyone!

My husband and I love smash burgers and were in town visiting for the weekend. When we were looking at lunch options this place jumped out at us. The vibe is really fun--kind of a garage/car/groovy diner. When you walk in you are greeted with self service ordering kiosks with workers close at hand if needed. They don't have paper menus, just the menus on the tablets. We each ordered a smash burger and got some garage fries to share. We thought the garage fries were pretty good and fun! A smattering of tots, curly, and regular fries all mixed together. The burgers were flavorful and exactly what we were expecting. Our toddlers shared a hot dog and enjoyed it. The restaurant was clean and tidy, though they were busy. Only thing I didn't care for was that the soft drinks don't come with refills. I'm the kinda gal that likes to drink something with my meal and then get a refill to go to sip on while I'm out and about.

Came in with the fam on a Thursday at lunch. The restaurant is clean and there are 3-4 touchpads to order from. Good music playing and seating both upstairs and downstairs. Ordering food was a cinch and we quickly found a table to sit at. Food is delivered table side. Our burgers and hot dogs were ready in about 20 minutes that wasn't a big deal considering it's all made fresh. Overall I was very impressed with the smash burgers. My sons seemed to devour their hot dogs, and we ordered one side of garage fries that were a nice addition too. Would definitely come back when in the Hanover area. There is another location in Dover too, that would be nice to try eventually.

Everything you look for in a smash burger. Thin patties, melted cheese, soft bun, great burger sauce. The different styles of fries are fun.

Now I get to enjoy these dogs and make new memories with my daughter. This was the first time I brought her out to this location. She's a plain Jane and just gets a bacon and cheese dog with fries. I normally go with the two dog special, one with chili and onions and one without. The whole onion on each dog is just too much for me. So this way I scrape half off right onto the other dog. I will always be a fan and come back as long as they are around.

It was a rainy afternoon, bordering on the evening, and we were returning back to Hanover after a…read moretrip halfway across the state. We knew that going home was going to result in TV dinners coming out of the freezer, so we opted to try something new in town (for us). We figured that a hot dog place that has been around for over a hundred years would be a good bet. We were wrong. Pulling up to the place, it met our expectations... building that has been around for a couple of decades, lots of glass windows to see out of, etc. I know we weren't at the original downtown location, but this one had been there for decades and we figured it used the original recipe that made it so famous, so we would be good to go. Walking inside, we were met with... well, low-key chaos is a reasonable word for what we saw. One of the wait staff said we could sit anywhere, but that proved to be a bit of a challenge as most of the tables were filthy, covered in onion debris and other condiments. The floor, of course, was also covered in the same debris. We would soon find out why. After having found (and wiped down to remove some of the filth) a table, our wait staff came up and provided us with menus. The menu isn't all that big, so it didn't take long to figure out what we hoped would be a good meal. My mother went for a simple hot wiener with the onions and chili sauce (no mustard, we knew it was going to be yellow mustard), and I went with the wiener special, one hotdog and one burger. We didn't have to wait that long for the food to come out. It was when the food arrived at our table that we finally understood exactly why the tables and floor were such a disaster. I am quite sure I have never seen that much diced onion placed on a single hotdog. Both of our plates were simply smothered in the onions and chili sauce that comes with these things, to the point where we couldn't really see the bun or hotdog underneath it all. It was definitely a fork and knife kind of meal, because picking something like this up in your hands was an invitation to disaster and the primary motivator for all of the onions on the floor. So I cut a bit out of the mound... found a bit of hotdog and bun, and tasted it. This is where the sadness and despair truly set in. The bun was just a soggy white bread bun that you can get an 8 pack of for 99 cents at Walmart. OK, I can go with that, part of the charm and all, except it was buried underneath all that onion and chili and it really was just a complete soggy mess by the time it got to our table. I could have let that pass... if it weren't for the hotdog itself. I don't know where they get their hotdogs, but they need to change suppliers, and fast. The casing for these hotdogs was hard and rubbery, not from overcooking, just from their production method in the first place. Once I got through the casing, the meat contained within was some of the most flavorless meat I have ever had in any sort of sausage. I would eat a vegetarian hotdog over this any day. The onions were just too much... perhaps if they had been cooked through instead of placed on there raw they would have been nice, but as it was it was just not a good thing. Combine that with a chili sauce that also had next to no flavor, and I was not in happy town at all. So... combine a place that is filthy with food that is flavorless and has the texture of a bouncy rubber ball, and I'm sorry but one star is all you are going to get. I almost never write one-star reviews, and I don't give that rating lightly. This is not to say that the staff were bad, however. They were pleasant, took care of our orders, and handled us just fine. I did wonder how the breakfast at this place would be, but after experiencing the dinner fare, there is little chance of my returning to try the breakfast.

I decided to jump online and place an online order and run over and pick it up because we live just a few minutes away and my selection was the crinkle cut french fries and a large cheesesteak with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and fried onions along with extra provolone. Just got home and just finished half of the sub and it is an absolute beast. The sub roll was so soft and so fresh which really put the icing on a cake or shall I say the icing on a cheesesteak as you can see in a pictures they definitely load you up with freshly chopped up steak and it was seasoned perfectly along with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and perfectly grilled onion mixed in with the meat. I have to be honest and say this is one of the better cheesesteaks I've had in my lifetime and trust me I've eaten a lot of cheesesteaks all over the United States. The crinkle cut fries were fresh very hot when I got them home and absolutely have that little crunch in the inside was perfect. I know it's french fries but places do screw up but not Johnny's. This was really good french fries. They were fairly busy with phone orders coming in and people coming in to pick up pizza and they were busy and I can see why and I think out of all honesty you've earned our future business as a go to place and on our next visit we are going to try one of your pizzas. The inside has a few tables and counter seating and it's really tastefully decorated, I really enjoyed the decor. Service was on the money, friendly gentleman cashed me out and brought my food whenever it was ready no complaints there either. So the bottom line is I do highly recommend giving Johnny's a try. They do have a very nice menu of all different food selections and I don't really don't think you can go wrong and the prices are very reasonable.

It is a small shop with maybe half a dozen tables and a counter. Decorated with various license plates, automotive items and some 50s memorabilia. The woman at the counter was very nice as was the staff who we encountered as the food was delivered and as we were leaving. My friends ordered cheese steaks, I ordered a lunch special, sausage and pepper sub with fries. When the first cheese steak came out we all went wow, they were huge! Not expected. My 1/2 sub was as big as a normal one and it was accompanied by a nice portion of old school krinkle cut fries. The sub was to hot to pick up, baked in the over so I started on the fries. Crisp, perfectly cooked and delicious. Didn't need catchup they were so good. The sandwich roll cooled down enough to eat and it was excellent. Plenty of nice sausage, peppers and onions. It was great, very tasty. This was a nice find for us. The experience was great, food was great and pricing was very reasonable. I suggest visiting Johnny's if you are in New Oxford.
